PURPOSE. The maximum width between the mesial and distal labial transitional line angles, described as "esthetic width" herein, could significantly influence the visual perception of the teeth and smile. This study aimed to conduct biometric research on esthetic width and to explore whether regular distribution exists in the esthetic width of human teeth. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A total of 4,264 maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth were measured using the Geomagic studio software program. The proportions of maxillary to mandibular homonymous teeth and proportions between the adjacent teeth were calculated. Bilateral symmetry and the correlation between the esthetic and mesiodistal widths were both accounted for during the measurement procedures. RESULTS. The mean esthetic widths were 6.773 ± 0.518 mm and 4.329 ± 0.331 mm for maxillary and mandibular central incisors, respectively, 5.451 ± 0.487 mm and 5.008 ± 0.351 mm for maxillary and mandibular lateral incisors, respectively, and 3.340 ± 0.353 mm and 5.958 ± 0.415 mm for maxillary and mandibular canines, respectively. Except for the mandibular canines, no significant difference in esthetic width was found among homonymous teeth from the same jaw. A high linear correlation was found between the esthetic and mesiodistal widths of the same tooth, except for the maxillary canines. Esthetic width proportions among different tooth categories showed some regular patterns, which were similar to those of the mesiodistal width. CONCLUSION. Esthetic width is regularly distributed among the teeth in the Chinese population. This could provide an important reference for anterior dental restorations and dimension recovery in esthetic reconstruction of anterior teeth.
The purpose of his study is to investigate the relationship between the business cycle and the fashion of silhouette from 1956 to 1992. Correlation analysis an regression analysis were used to investigate the relation of them. In this study, the coincident composite index was used as business cycle and change of skirt in length and width, collar and pants in width wee thoroughly checked through graphs and photographs. The results of analysis are as follows. 1. When the economy is to ascend, the skirts are short and narrow. On the country, when the economy is descend, they are long and wide. 2. The business cycle gives influence on skirts line and with, that is, about 18%, 33% of total changes. 3. In change of fashion, skirts length and width had significant positive correlation and they showed a tendency to move together. On the other hand, the change of collar and patterns in width have no connection with business fluctuation. 4. The change of fashion is affected by the movement of itself. According to analysis that includes the trend of skirts, about 50%, and 35% of changes in skirts length and width were decided by them,. and about 52% and 35% of change in collar and patterns width were decided by them.
Purpose: Straight closure line of classic Weir excision leaves visible scars and makes it difficult to precisely approximate resection margins. Hence this study introduces Park-Weir excision that effectively reduces alar width with minimal alar rim scar by 3-dimensional zigzag incision and properly controls the approximation of edges. Methods: From 2008 to 2010, 14 patients underwent Park-Weir excision, crossed wedge excision on alar rim not exceeding 5 mm in width. Each patient was photographed in the same position. Alar width and columellar height against intercanthal distance was compared preoperatively and postoperatively, using image analysis software. Results: Five patients were female and nine were male. Average follow up period was 8 month. Alar width was reduced by 50.50% to 45.96%, original alar width reduced by 8.98% without significant changes in columellar height which was reduced by 0.39%. No visible scar was reported during outpatient follow-up. Conclusion: Park-Weir excision effectively reduces alar width and corrects the flaring of alar without affecting the columellar height. Zigzag incision of Park-Weir excision leaves aesthetically more pleasant scar than straight single incision of classical Weir excision.

We present the derivation of the loci of the reflection coefficient of a loaded transmission line on the Smith chart as the length of the transmission line is varied. The results show that the loci constitute a circle when the characteristic impedance of the transmission line differs from the normalizing one, whose center and radius are determined by the impedances of the load and the transmission line. The results can be used in the matching circuit design using microstriplines when line width and length should be compromised.

One dimensional line edge detection sensor was investigated for the application to detect line or edge of wide sheet winding to cylindrical roller. Line edge detection sensor was realized using align-free 1:1 optical system having 1 convex lens and by processing sum or difference of signals from two photo-diodes in a bi-cell photodetector. Line width up to 0.1mm on object having various materials and colors was detectable, and the deviation of wound sheet was found to be under 0.2mm.
The harmonious lip length, residual scar and Cupid's bow width and peak with a normal side are the aims of a unilateral cleft lip repair. Also, long term amelioration without necessary of revisional surgeries may be the ideal conditions. No one method can satisfy the wide varieties of cleft lip deformities. Recently with rearrangement of paraoral muscle and some modifications, a straight line repair technique has been concerned again. Straight scar line, simplicity, and short learning curve are the advantages of the straight line technique. Here two cases of the simple straight line technique were presented and discussed for its usefulness and reliability with short reviews of previous reports.

In order to improve the radiation characteristics of the microstrip antenna, microstrip array antenna consisting of one center patch fed by a coaxial probe and several patches directly coupled to the E-plane by microstrip line is analyzed. The equivalent circuit of the array antenna is represented by the conventional transmission line and the various parameters, such as the mdicrostrip line length, the patch length and the feed point location are calculated to improve the radiation pattern for 5-patch array antenna which has the equal patch width. The 5-patch array antenna with the radiation pattern which has low sidelobe level and narrow beam width is fabricated and then the measured results are compared with the computed values and the results of the single patch microstrip antenna too.
This study is to research on the rate of expansion or contraction according to movement of the lower body of the man their twenties using Rapid Form software. And aim of this study is to get information of ease allowance in developing slacks pattern using 3D body surface scan data through comparison with existing slacks patterns. Considering on the contraction and expansion according to movement, it need to set the more ease allowance in hip circumference than waist circumference, and the more ease allowance in back hip width than front hip width in slacks. In crotch length, the length of front crotch is revealed contraction but the length of back crotch is revealed expansion. It is desirable lowering front waist line and raising back waist line to possess ease allowance in back crotch area. The length of side seam is revealed a little expansion but the length of inseam is showed a great expansion. To develop slacks pattern of scientific approach using 3D body surface scan data, it need to analysis the rate of expansion and contraction of the lower body based on the movement, shear deformation, slip in fabrics and skin, or in fabrics and fabrics, and slip down from waist line.
Recently, several models to control weld quality, productivity and weld properties in arc welding process have been developed and applied. Also, the applied model to make effective use of the robotic GMA(Gas Metal Arc) welding process should be given a high degree of confidence in predicting the bead dimensions to accomplish the desired mechanical properties of the weldment. In this study, a development of the on-line learning neural network models that investigate interrelationships between welding parameters and bead width as well as apply for the on-line quality control system for the robotic GMA welding process has been carried out. The developed models showed an excellent predicted results comparing with the predicted ability using off-line learning neural network. Also, the system will extend to other welding process and the rule-based expert system which can be incorporated with integration of an optimized system for the robotic welding system.
The magnetic and other physical characteristics of $Mn_xSi_{1-x}Te$ have been investigated by electron magnetic resonance (EMR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and other experiments. $Mn_xSi_{1-x}Te$ is found to have corundum structure for manganese contents up to 10% and also to be ferromagnetic for temperatures below 80 K. While ferromagnetic resonance signal coexists with the usual paramagnetic resonance signal, invariance of the g-factor inferred from the electron paramagnetic resonance signals throughout all temperature ranges clearly confirms that the manganese ions are in the electronic 3d5 state. The temperature dependence of EMR line-width is the same as other diluted magnetic semiconductors. From the EMR signals relaxation times $T_2$ and $T_1$ of $Mn_xSi_{1-x}Te$ compounds are estimated to be about $4.4{\times}10^{-10}s$ and $9.3{\times}10^{-8}s$ respectively and are found to vary slightly with temperature or composition change. Exchange narrowing of the EMR line-width becomes dominant for the sample in which the substitution ratio, x = 30%. For one sample, in which x = 0.5%, spin glass-like behavior is indicated by EMR signals for temperatures lower than 60 K. This behavior may authentic for samples within a certain range of x.
