This paper investigates the fundamental properties of light weight foamed concrete with the variances in unit weight of concrete and adding ratio of stability agent(SA). Test showed that concrete adding SA slightly decreased fluidity but secured stable flow appearances without segregation of concrete components. All specimens in a standard condition represented that a sinking depth was not observed, while, in the wet condition, a specimen adding SA decreased the sinking depth $2{\sim}4mm$ more than control concrete. Compressive strength values of control concrete showed $0.03{\sim}0.3MPa$ higher than the concrete adding SA. As for the tensile strength, the specimen adding SA also had lower value, while the ratios of comp. to tens. strength presented $0.43{\sim}0.62$, which is relatively higher than ordinary concrete.
The majority of studies comparing the mechanical properties of brittle dental restorative materials now include use of the Weibull Modulus (m). This modulus is determined from analysis of the statistical distribution of strength measurements, which can be determined using a variety of methods, including biaxial flexure, 3pt bend and 4pt bend. In comparing materials it is usually implicitly assumed that the modulus (m) is independent of test method although it is recognised to be highly dependent on flaw distributions. However, in some cases flaw distributions can be modified by sample preparation and test method may modify stressing patterns. This study investigated the pattern of strength and m in two light setting materials.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of multiple application of all-in-one dentin adhesive system on microtensile bond strength using confocal laser scanning microscope and microtensile bond strength test. The dentin surface of human molars, sectioned to remove the enamel from the occlusal surface were prepared. In group I, Scotchbond Multipurpose(SM, 3M ESPE) was applied by manufature's recommended. In group II, after the all-in-one adhesive, Adper Prompt L-Pop was applied for 15s, and light cured for 10s, the second coat was re-applied and light-cured.(omitted)

Generally, hanger insulator for polymer arrestor have to be good insulation properties and mechanical strength and weatherability, But many remark and repairs have been to think about low cost and light weight. The Paper is used Polymer arrestor for post and performance analysis and mechanical strength insulator hanger according to development of simplest product. To enhance the efficiency of experimental modal analysis, we proposed the process which is the selection of the locations and the number of measurement points for pre-test.
PURPOSE. To investigate the microtensile bond strength between two all-ceramic systems; lithium disilicate glass ceramic and zirconia core ceramics bonded with their corresponding glass veneers. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Blocks of core ceramics (IPS e.max$^{(R)}$ Press and Lava$^{TM}$ Frame) were fabricated and veneered with their corresponding glass veneers. The bilayered blocks were cut into microbars; 8 mm in length and $1mm^2$ in cross-sectional area (n = 30/group). Additionally, monolithic microbars of these two veneers (IPS e.max$^{(R)}$ Ceram and LavaTM Ceram; n = 30/group) were also prepared. The obtained microbars were tested in tension until fracture, and the fracture surfaces of the microbars were examined with fluorescent black light and scanning electron microscope (SEM) to identify the mode of failure. One-way ANOVA and the Dunnett's T3 test were performed to determine significant differences of the mean microtensile bond strength at a significance level of 0.05. RESULTS. The mean microtensile bond strength of IPS e.max$^{(R)}$ Press/IPS e.max$^{(R)}$ Ceram ($43.40{\pm}5.51$ MPa) was significantly greater than that of Lava$^{TM}$ Frame/Lava$^{TM}$ Ceram ($31.71{\pm}7.03$ MPa)(P<.001). Fluorescent black light and SEM analysis showed that most of the tested microbars failed cohesively in the veneer layer. Furthermore, the bond strength of Lava$^{TM}$ Frame/Lava$^{TM}$ Ceram was comparable to the tensile strength of monolithic glass veneer of Lava$^{TM}$ Ceram, while the bond strength of bilayered IPS e.max$^{(R)}$ Press/IPS e.max$^{(R)}$ Ceram was significantly greater than tensile strength of monolithic IPS e.max$^{(R)}$ Ceram. CONCLUSION. Because fracture site occurred mostly in the glass veneer and most failures were away from the interfacial zone, microtensile bond test may not be a suitable test for bonding integrity. Fracture mechanics approach such as fracture toughness of the interface may be more appropriate to represent the bonding quality between two materials.
The purpose of this study was to compare the microtensile bond strength in Class I cavities associated with different light curing modes of same light energy density. Occlusal enamel was removed to expose a flat dentin surface and twenty box-shaped Class I cavities were prepared in dentin. Single Bond (3M Dental product) was applied and Z 250 was inserted using bulk technique. The composite was light-cured using one of four techniques, pulse delay (PD group), soft-start (SS group), pulse cure (PC group) and standard continuous cure (CC group). The light-curing unit capable of adjusting time and intensity (VIP, Bisco Dental product) was selected and the light energy density for all curing modes was fixed at $16J/cm^2$. After storage for 24 hours, specimens were sectioned into beams with a rectangular cross-sectional area of approximately $1mm^2$ Microtensile bond strength $({\mu}TBS)$ test was per- formed using a univel·sal testing machine (EZ Test, Shimadzu Co.). The results were analyzed using oneway ANOVA and Tukey's test at significance level 0.05. The ${\mu}TBS$ of PD group and SS group was higher than that of PC group and CC group. Within the limitations of this in vitro study, modification of curing modes such as pulse delay and soft start polymerization can improve resin/dentin bond strength in Class I cavities by controlling polymerization velocity of composite resin.

The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of light-tip distance on the shear bond strength of a visible light-cured glass ionomer cement(Fuji Ortho LC ; GC, Japan) cured with three different light curing units : a halogen light(Elipar Trilight ; 3M ESPE, Seefeld, Germany), a Light Emitting Diode (LED, Elipar Freelight2 ; 3M ESPE, Seefeld, Germany) and a plasma arc light (Flipo ; LOKKI, France). 1. When used at a distance of 0mm from the bracket, the three light curing units showed no statistically different shear bond strengths. At distance of 3 and 6mm, no significant differences were found between the halogen and plasma arc lights, but both had significantly higher shear bond strengths than the LED light. 2. The halogen light and plasma arc light showed that no significant differences in bond strength were found among the three distances. Using the LED light, a greater light-tip distance produced significantly lower shear bond strengths.

This paper describes a technique combining chemometrics with UV spectroscopy for the determination of the concentra tions of two tissue additives (i.e., wet strength and softening agents) in a cellulose fiber containing solution. In single as ent solutions, the concentration of the additive can be measured by UV spectroscopy at the wavelength where the species having absorption. For a binary (i.e., containing two additives) solution system, the spectral characterization is very complicated. However, if aided by a chemometrical calibration technique, each additive in the binary solution can be quantified simultaneously. The present method is very rapid and simple, it can easily perform a continuous measurement in the changes in the additives' concentration after fiber addition, and therefore this becomes a valuable tool for the adsorption kinetics study of chemical additives onto the cellulose fibers. The time-dependent adsorption behaviors of the wet-strength, softening agent, and their both on fiber were also presented.
The purpose of this study was to compare the fithness, hardness and bending strength of the conventional reliners and visible light curing reliner. Nine regions were selected in the upper transverse section which were thought to be of interest from a clinical standpoint and the discrepancies between the dentures and the master cast in these regions were determined by the coordinated measuring machine(UMM-500, Zeiss, W. Germany). The results were as follows ; 1. The experimental denture bases showed the lowest fittness at the central portion of the posterior palatal border and the intimate contact in the buccal flanges regardless of relining materials and relining methods. 2. The fittness of relined denture base was the best in autopolymerizing group and in the order of long processing, short processing and visible light curing group. 3. The fittness after 24 hour-storage in water was improved in long processing and autopolymerizing groups, but there was no significant difference. 4. The hardness was the highest in long processing group and decreased in the order of short processing, visible light curing and autopolymerizing group. 5. The bending strength was the highest in long processing group and decreased short processing, visible light curing, and aotopolymerzing group in order.
