The Nakdong River, which lies in a monsoon climate zone with warm rainy summers and cold dry winters, is a typical ecosystem showing the attributes of a regulated river. In 2003, the total annual rainfall (1,805 mm) was higher than the average of the past nine years from 1994 to 2002 (1,250 mm). In September a powerful typhoon, Maemi, caused a big impact on the limnology of the river for over two months. Among the limnological variables, turbidity in 2003 (37.4 ${\pm}$ 94.1 NTU, n = 54) was higher than the annual average for ten years (18.5 ${\pm}$ 2.3 NTU, n = 486) in the lower part of the river (Mulgum: RK 28). Furthermore, physical disturbance (e.g. stream bank erosion within channel) in the upstream of the Imha Dam (RK ca. 350; river distance in kilometer from the estuary barrage) in the upper part of the river was a source of high turbidity, and impacted on the limnological dynamics along a 350 km section of the middle to lower part of the river. After the typhoon, high turbidity persisted more than two months in the late autumn from September to November in 2003. Flow regulation and the extended duration of turbid water are superimposed on the template of existing main channel hydroecology, which may cause spatial changes in the population dynamics of plankton in the river.
The category killer that has been rapidly growing mainly in advanced countries since early 1990's, is a mew distribution model which aims for obtaining market controlling power by surpassing competing businesses in a specific area of products. The domestic situation of category killers is very different from that of advanced ones abroad since it has just been introduced into the Korean market. At the moment, there are only 10 or so companies operating in the market : Geopyung's , Taeheng's , Midopa's , of Sinsegye Department store, adn of Yerim International. The purpose of this study is to examine problems of domestic companies in the present market by analysing the operation status of category killers in domestic markets as well as foreign ones, and to suggest a counter-strategy of category killers for the distribution environment of the 21st century to improve the competitiveness of Korean distribution industry. The competitiveness of category killers lies above all in products lines. Category killers are equipped with the greatest number of products lines among those of competing businesses due to maximized product selections in an limited range. Another source of competitiveness may be found in balanced strategy positioning. That is to say, category killers are in a position where they can adjust policies towards any of the three purposes while aiming at them altogether : prices of discount stores, products range of specialty stores, and customer service level of department stores. It is also necessary for efficient store operation to use information technology such as electronic data interchange (EDI), electronic pose system(EPOS) and electronic funds transfer (EFTPOS). As for the cost structure, category killers can gain an advantage over other business since operating cost of various sections can be saved. There are, however, certain risks that category killers with strong competitiveness may influence on other businesses a great deal and even facilitate their decline. Yet it seems that the growth of category killers will be more viciously restrained by continuous challenges from other businesses. The distribution industry is supposed to develop through such competition and restraint.
In this study, new evaluation perspective and analysis methodology are suggested to assess the technological level of new product produced by national large R&D program and applied to case analysis of the superconducting cable technology. Logical Procedures for the assessment of the technological level include essential technology classification, analysis of evaluation factors, structure and content of assessment items, presentation method of the analysis result. Variable with technological properties are employed to analyze the relative competitiveness subjectively. The principal component analysis are applied to measure the relative competitiveness in terms of size and position. Finally the combined results of technology and right evaluation show that the technology level of DAPAS superconducting cables lies somewhere between 96.11% and 101.76% compared with a global leader in technology. The result provides sufficient evidences that it secures technological edges over other competitors. Therefore it can be called as a globally leading technology. New evaluation perspective and analysis methodology suggested can be applied usefully to assess the technology level of public large-scale R&D program.

Anatomy: The rotator cuff comprises four muscles-the subscapularis, the supraspinatus, the infraspinatus and the teres minor-and their musculotendinous attachments. The subscapularis muscle is innervated by the subscapular nerve and originates on the scapula. It inserts on the lesser tuberosity of the humerus. The supraspinatus and infraspinatus are both innervated by the suprascapular nerve, originate in the scapula and insert on the greater tuberosity. The teres minor is innervated by the axillary nerve, originates on the scapula and inserts on the greater tuberosity. The subacromial space lies underneath the acromion, the coracoid process, the acromioclavicular joint and the coracoacromial ligament. A bursa in the subacromial space provides lubrication for the rotator cuff. Etiology: The space between the undersurface of the acromion and the superior aspect of the humeral head is called the impingement interval. This space is normally narrow and is maximally narrow when the arm is abducted. Any condition that further narrows this space can cause impingement. Impingement can result from extrinsic compression or from loss of competency of the rotator cuff. Syndrome: Neer divided impingement syndrome into three stages. Stage I involves edema and/or hemorrhage. This stage generally occurs in patients less than 25 years of age and is frequently associated with an overuse injury. Generally, at this stage the syndrome is reversible. Stage II is more advanced and tends to occur in patients 25 to 40 years of age. The pathologic changes that are now evident show fibrosis as well as irreversible tendon changes. Stage III generally occurs in patients over 50 years of age and frequently involves a tendon rupture or tear. Stage III is largely a process of attrition and the culmination of fibrosis and tendinosis that have been present for many years. Treatment: In patients with stage I impingement, conservative treatment is often sufficient. Conservative treatment involves resting and stopping the offending activity. It may also involve prolonged physical therapy. Sport and job modifications may be beneficial. Nonsteroidal anti - inflammatory drugs(NSAIDS) and ice treatments can relieve pain. Ice packs applied for 20 minutes three times a day may help. A sling is never used, because adhesive capsulitis can result from immobilization.
In the restricted sea way such as fair way in harbor, narrow channel etc, the safe ship-handling is a very important problem, which is greatly related with turning ability of ships. It is of great importance that ship-handlers can grasp the position of pivoting point varying with time increase at any moment for relevant steering activities. Mean while, in advanced ship-building countries they study and investigated pivoting point related with turning characteristics, hut their main interest lies in ship design, not in safe ship controlling and maneuvering. In this regards it is the purpose of this paper to provide ship-handlers better under standing of pivoting point location together with turning characteristics and then to help them in safe ship-handling by presenting fact that pivoting points vary according to configuration of ships. The author calculated the variation of pivoting point as per time increase for various type of vessels, based on the hydrodynamic derivatives obtained at test of Davidson Laboratory of Stevens Institutes of Technology , New Jersey, U.S.A. The results were classified and investigated according to the magnitude of block coefficient , length-beam ratio, length-draft ratio, rudder area ratio ete, and undermentioned results were obtained. (1) The trajectory of pivoting point due to variation of rudder angle are all the same at any time, though the magenitude of turning circle are changed variously. (2) The moving of pivoting point is affected by the magnitude of block coefficient, length-beam ratio, length-draft ratio, however the effect by rudder area ratio might be disregarded. (3) In controlling and maneuvering of vessels in harbor, ship-handlers might regard that the pivoting point would be placed on 0.2~0.3L forward from center of gravity at initial stage. (4) The pivoting point of VLCC or container feeder vessels which have block coefficient more than 0.8 and length-beam ratio less than 6.5 are located on or over bow in the steady turning. (5) When a vessel intends to avoid some floating obstruction such as buoy forward around her eourse, the ship-handler might consider that the pivoting point would be close by bow in ballast condition and cloase by center of gravity in full-loaded condition.

Over the years, cultural mapping methods have been used in several applications and contexts, for diverse cultural assets and to create new conditions for the development of local and regional resources. These methods were inspired by the development of big urban centres and regions, which have been the great engine of cultural mapping growth. The main objectives of the present paper are to provide a literature review on cultural mapping methodologies and to develop exploratory research on crowdsource tools on creative tourism which were applied to one Portuguese municipality in 2017. The research was supported by the implementation and integration of geographic information systems (GIS) and web mapping, which will become part of the solution for the growth of less developed territories and to make more interactive tourist activities. Web mapping's contribution to enhance crowd participation was measured via analysis of 12 digital photos shared through crowdsourcing. The originality of this research lies in the attempt to develop a new model for creative tourism, trying to extend the implementation of Web Mapping crowdsourcing to deprived low density territories. Results show how public participation can be amplified for the tourism market by crowdsourcing tools. These tools look very promising since they can help several members of the public at different ages to contribute to territorial knowledge, engage in activities, and collaborate through digital tools. It is a step to fulfil the lack of studies in this subject and it contributes to the way we think about future studies.

This study examined Artificial Neurons Networks model (ANNs) for forecast flash discharge at Southern part of Thailand by using rainfall data and discharge data. The Sungai Kolok River Basin has meant the border crossing between Thailand and Malaysia which watershed drains an area lies in Thailand 691.88 square kilometer from over all 2,175 square kilometer. The river originates in mountainous area of Waeng district then flow through Gulf of Thailand at Narathiwat Province, which the river length is approximately 103 kilometers. Almost every year, flooding seems to have increased in frequency and magnitude which is highly non-linear and complicated phenomena. The purpose of this study is to forecast runoff on Sungai Kolok at X.119A gauge station (Sungai Kolok district, Narathiwat province) for 3 days in advance by using Artificial Neural Networks model (ANNs). 3 daily rainfall stations and 2 daily runoff station have been measured by Royal Irrigation Department and Meteorological Department during flood period 2000-2014 were used as input data. In order to check an accuracy of forecasting, forecasted runoff were compared with observed data by pursuing Coefficient of determination ($R^2$). The result of the first day gets the highest accuracy and then decreased in day 2 and day 3, consequently. $R^2$values for first day, second day and third day of runoff forecasting is 0.71, 0.62 and 0.49 respectively. The results confirmed that the ANNs model can be used when the range of collected dataset is short and real-time operated. In conclusion, the ANNs model is suitable to runoff forecasting during flood incident of Sungai Kolok river because it is straightforward model and require with only a few parameters for simulation.
The greatest mission of archival community lies in collecting records to document past and present Korean society and in safeguarding them to pass over to the next generation. For the last decade, Korean archival community has actively pursued this mission and accomplished it to the certain extent. A series of events occurred during the last year urged the community to regretfully accept that the so-called accomplishment was by no means satisfactory. The present study aims to review what has been achieved against what should be if the community is to be truthful to the fundamental mission. It begins with addressing attributes of electronic records. To be specific, attributes of electronic records as 'records' are compared against those as 'digital objects.' Current state of long-term preservation of electronic records is reviewed. Suggestions follow in terms of four directions: establishing a policy framework based on principles of electronic records management, building integrated electronic records management system, researching and developing functionalities for long-term preservation, and finally, knowledge transfer and coordination.
In this article I tried to take an overview of the training course of Chinese Archivists. The emphasis of this work lies on the development of the Archives College of Renmin. Univ. of China after the Cultural Revolution. It includes also the development in 1950's and early '60's. An overview of the Chinese development in 1950's and early '60's will be helpful for the development of Korean archival system, especially in training of archivists. What is necessary above all in our today's situation is to bring some experiences from the advanced countries in this field. It can be carried out in two ways : the empirical studies of archival development in foreign countries and the systematic translation of their publications. It also needs an establishment of professional institutes for the archival studies in Korea. In fact the professional archivists are now hardly found in Korea. Those scholars working in the archival areas now are not archival specialists in their academic origin. Because of the urgent needs some scholars of related fields, i.e. history and library science, take over the roles of researchers and instructors in archival studies. It is therefore very urgent to offer the environment where the archivists are able to devote themselves to research in archival science. In conclusion, we need to pursue the studies of archives to give order to the records we find in the long history of our archival tradition. By doing so, we can develop our own archival science in the end. This project, however, needs supports from the government for the formation of policies, securement of budget and collaboration between the related agencies to pave a way for the strong foundation of Korean archival studies. Without these supports it might take much more time then that Chinese have taken for the enhancement of their own archival studies.
This paper develops a wireless sensor for online fatigue crack detection and failure warning based on crack-induced nonlinear ultrasonic modulation. The wireless sensor consists of packaged piezoelectric (PZT) module, an excitation/sensing module, a data acquisition/processing module, a wireless communication module, and a power supply module. The packaged PZT and the excitation/sensing module generate ultrasonic waves on a structure and capture the response. Based on nonlinear ultrasonic modulation created by a crack, the data acquisition/processing module periodically performs fatigue crack diagnosis and provides failure warning if a component failure is imminent. The outcomes are transmitted to a base through the wireless communication module where two-levels duty cycling media access control (MAC) is implemented. The uniqueness of the paper lies in that 1) the proposed wireless sensor is developed specifically for online fatigue crack detection and failure warning, 2) failure warning as well as crack diagnosis are provided based on crack-induced nonlinear ultrasonic modulation, 3) event-driven operation of the sensor, considering rare extreme events such as earthquakes, is made possible with a power minimization strategy, and 4) the applicability of the wireless sensor to steel welded members is examined through field and laboratory tests. A fatigue crack on a steel welded specimen was successfully detected when the overall width of the crack was around $30{\mu}m$, and a failure warnings were provided when about 97.6% of the remaining useful fatigue lives were reached. Four wireless sensors were deployed on Yeongjong Grand Bridge in Souht Korea. The wireless sensor consumed 282.95 J for 3 weeks, and the processed results on the sensor were transmitted up to 20 m with over 90% success rate.
