The purpose of this work was to study library website users' actions by tracking their behavior, determining popular content, and identifying browsing patterns and subsequent improvement of access to popular content. The study of behavior models and the use of web analytics has led to the emergence of solutions that improve the usability and functionality of the State Public Scientific-Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPSTL SB RAS) website. These are: identifying user tasks as they are developed, conducting user testing to better understand the event. tracking data and collecting additional data to verify the effectiveness of the changes made. Examining data on the duration of the session and the number of visits will help determine the goals of user visits and develop new recommendations. Usability analysis and testing will make it possible to compare the data obtained using web analytics and the perception of the library site by the users themselves. Recommendations are offered to libraries on the use of data on the real behavior of the target audience of the library website to improve access to library resources and services, increase their relevance and improve information services.

This exploratory study aims to understand the potential of log data analysis and expand its utilization in user research methods. Transaction log data are records of electronic interactions that have occurred between users and web services, reflecting information-seeking behavior in the context of digital libraries where users interact with the service system during the search for information. Two ways were used to analyze South Korea's National Digital Science Library (NDSL) log data for three days, including 150,000 data: a log pattern analysis, and log context analysis using statistics. First, a pattern-based analysis examined the general paths of usage by logged and unlogged users. The correlation between paths was analyzed through a χ² analysis. The subsequent log context analysis assessed 30 identified users' data using basic statistics and visualized the individual user information-seeking behavior while accessing NDSL. The visualization shows included 30 diverse paths for 30 cases. Log analysis provided insight into general and individual user information-seeking behavior. The results of log analysis can enhance the understanding of user actions. Therefore, it can be utilized as the basic data to improve the design of services and systems in the digital library to meet users' needs.

최근의 도서관 변화의 가장 큰 특징으로 먼저 이용자의 변화를 들 수가 있는데 평일의 학생이용중심에서 주부, 무직자, 고령자 이용과 휴일에는 가족동반이용 등으로 이용자의 속성이 변화하고 있고 이에 따라 체재형도 서관이라고 하는 새로운 개념의 도서관이 출현하여 이용자의 속성에 대응하는 형태로 독서서비스를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구는 체재형 도서관으로의 이행시기에 있는 도심의 공공도서관을 대상으로 도서관내에서의 가족의 이용행동 조사하여 가족이용유형의 구성특징 및 공간구성과의 상관관계를 분석하고 비독서행위에 대하여 고찰을 행하였다.

This study investigates the mutual effects of the physical environment and the characteristics of user's need in the children's libraries of open plan type. The children's library as a flexible space should accept user's diverse needs. Especially, Children express more positive and diverse behaviors than adults in physical environment. As the design information obtained from observation of children's behaviors are put to architectural design, the more affluent environment in which children can do positive behaviors can be made. We used two research methods of the behavior observation and interview for the children's library, and could formulate various using actions through the behavior setting observation for using library. A relational description for reading environment in this study, based on the affordance and the behavior setting theories, provided us with rich accounts for the psychological and sociocultural resources in the children's library. Consequently, the following results can be summarized. First, children need territories for family use and for place and are using library effectively through taking the two territories. Second, the zoning according to age category should be done, as behavior patterns were observed differently according to age. Third, the space composition with openness should be designed, as children need social relation and learning through imitation and observation.

본 연구는 국립중앙도서관 디지털도서관 정보광장 이용자를 대상으로 이용자만족도 설문조사를 통하여, 현재 정보광장의 서비스가 이용자의 만족도를 얼마나 성취하고 있는가를 분석하고, 도서관의 공간별 이용행태를 분석하였다. 이용자만족도는 정보광장 11개 공간/시설에 대해 이용자들이 지각하는 전반적인 만족도를 측정할 수 있게 하였으며, 각 공간별 이용자의 특성을 살펴보았다. 또한 정보광장 개관 이후 실시된 이용자만족도와 현재 이용자 만족도의 점수를 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과 정보광장에 대한 이용자의 전반적인 만족도는 개관 이래 큰 변화 없이 지속적으로 높게 나타났으며, 특히 정보광장의 공간 중 '디지털열람실'의 만족도 점수가 83.8점으로 가장 높았으며, 'UCC 스튜디오'의 만족도가 70.8점으로 가장 낮게 나타났다.

이 연구는 도서관목록이 이용자 친화적으로 발전하기 위해서는 이용자들의 정보요구에 기반 해야 함을 전제로 두고, 이용자 요구 기반 도서관목록의 모습을 제안하고 실제 구현 가능성을 점검해 보는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 (1) 이용자들의 정보요구와 정보탐색행태에 대해서 자세히 살펴보고, (2) 이용자 요구 분석의 결과를 토대로 도서관목록을 직접 구현한 뒤, (3) 이용자들의 만족도 평가를 통해 이 연구에서 제안한 도서관목록의 유용성을 도출하였다. 나아가 (4) 연구의 전 과정을 진행하면서 봉착했던 어려움과 한계를 논의하면서 이용자 요구 기반의 도서관목록을 구현하고자 할 때 선행되어야 할 과제에 대해서 논의하였다.

본 연구는 최근 들어 급증하는 도서관의 신축과 기존의 오래된 도서관 건물을 리모델링하는 현상이 급격히 증가하는데 따른 도서관 공간 구성에 관한 연구이다. 지금까지의 도서관 건축은 정보수요자인 도서관 이용자들의 기초가 배제된 채 일반건축 행정 양상을 띄어 왔다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 이용자들의 이용행태 (요일별, 방문시간대, 계층별, 이용공간별 등)를 조사하여 각각의 항목을 교차분석 하였다. 분석의 결과는 이용시간대는 오후 2시가 가장 많고, 가장 많이 이용하는 공간은 어린이 열람실임 밝혀졌고, 이용자 계층은 중 고생 다음으로 성인층이 가장 많은 것으로 밝혀졌다.

이용자행태에 관한 경험적 연구의 양적인 발전에도 불구하고 연구방법이나 방법론적인 시각에서 이러한 연구들을 분석한 시도는 많지 않았으며, 방법론상 이론적인 틀의 부재 또한 지적되어왔다. 이와 같은 측면을 반영하여 본 연구는 최근에 수행된 이용자행태 연구를 대상으로 연구결과 일반화, 즉 외적타당성에 영향을 끼치는 요인들을 분석하였다. 연구대상은 최근 JASIST에 실린 이용자행태논문으로 하여 미국정보학계의 이 분야 연구특징 분석에 주안점을 두었다. 연구대상이 된 논문 별로 연구결과 일반화와 관련된 다양한 사례를 설명하고 각 사례별 유형을 식별한 후 이를 토대로 연구 방법론적 틀을 제시하였다.

이 연구는 J도 도립도서관의 대출과 운영현황을 조사 분석하여 향후 발전방안을 모색하는데 있다. 이를 위해 도서관 이용증 발급자 30,072명과 대출건수(2012~2013년) 705,447건을 분석하였으며, 도서관 발전계획 및 이용자 만족도를 조사하여 이를 비교분석하였다. 분석방법은 SPSS 21.0을 사용하였다. 이를 통해 도립도서관 이용자의 도서관 이용 행태 및 자료 이용 패턴 등을 확인하였으며, 분석 결과를 기반으로 도립도서관의 발전방안을 제시하였다.

대출기록은 공공도서관에 축적되는 다양한 이용데이터로 이용 행태 분석을 통해 도서관서비스 개선에 적극 반영할 수 있다. 본 연구는 강서 양천지역 공공도서관 2개관의 대출기록 754,198건을 대상으로 대출이용자 및 대출 횟수, 대출자료, 대출시간 및 대출요일 분석을 실시하였다. 분석을 통해 두 도서관의 주된 이용자 계층, 도서관 방문 횟수, 주로 이용되는 자료의 주제, 주로 이용되는 시간을 확인할 수 있었고, 근접하였지만 환경이 서로 다른 두 도서관의 유사한 이용행태를 밝혀냄으로써 대출기록의 활용방안을 제시하였다.
