This paper aims to implement a topic modeling technique for extracting the topics of online discussions among library professionals in India. Topic modeling is the established text mining technique popularly used for modeling text data from Twitter, Facebook, Yelp, and other social media platforms. The present study modeled the online discussions of Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals posted on Lis Links. The text data of these posts was extracted using a program written in R using the package "rvest." The data was pre-processed to remove blank posts, posts having text in non-English fonts, punctuation, URLs, emails, etc. Topic modeling with the Latent Dirichlet Allocation algorithm was applied to the pre-processed corpus to identify each topic associated with the posts. The frequency analysis of the occurrence of words in the text corpus was calculated. The results found that the most frequent words included: library, information, university, librarian, book, professional, science, research, paper, question, answer, and management. This shows that the LIS professionals actively discussed exams, research, and library operations on the forum of Lis Links. The study categorized the online discussions on Lis Links into ten topics, i.e. "LIS Recruitment," "LIS Issues," "Other Discussion," "LIS Education," "LIS Research," "LIS Exams," "General Information related to Library," "LIS Admission," "Library and Professional Activities," and "Information Communication Technology (ICT)." It was found that the majority of the posts belonged to "LIS Exam," followed by "Other Discussions" and "General Information related to the Library."

This study aims to analyze and compare the components of school library laws of Korea and Japan. The laws of two nations were legislated by the members of the National Assembly, and NGO contributed significantly to the legislative process. The common parts of the two laws are objectives, definitions, responsibilities of nations, establishments, tasks, human resources, collaborative networks, and education, etc. For the task of school libraries, Korean law emphasizes the function of education, while the Japan law focuses on the basic duties of school libraries. In terms of human resources, school libraries in Korea can have a teacher librarian, a practice teacher, or a librarian, but in Japan, they can have either a teacher librarian or a school librarian. The Korea law specifies the aspects of facilities and materials, but the Japan law does not. Finally, for the educational role, the Korean libraries have reading and information literacy training that are parts of school curriculum, while the Japan libraries have only a library use guidance program and does not include reading education.

The purpose of this study is to identify useful factors for the curriculum development of the archival program in Korea by analyzing archival graduate programs of the Schools of Library and Information Science in English-speaking Canada. Name and history of the schools, degrees, credits, required and elective courses, practice, research, md faculty of archival prgrams, and the official guidelines of ACA and SAA are compared by analyzing web sites and literature review. It is found that Canadian LIS schools offer independent archival programs with a separate MAS degree or a specialization. University of British Columbia, the first LIS school that has a separate MAS degree program, provides a systematically developed curriculum. It also reveals that Canadian archival programs are based on their own principle·md SAA guidelines because ACA guidelines are out of date. Based upon the analysis of the archival programs in Canada, the current situations of the archival graduate programs in Korea are compared and several suggestions ale made f3r the direction of successful archival education in Korea in the end.

The aim of this study is to investigate the qualities for the reading education professionals and to suggest a training program of reading education professionals through comparing our educational programs for training of reading education professionals with those of U.S and Japan. The training program of reading education professionals in U.S is composed of Pedagogy and English language subjects and it emphasizes on literacy instruction. However, in Japan they make much account of the academic system of reading education and emphasize on various reading activities and the neighboring knowledge related with reading education. In our country, the program is composed with Korean language subjects concentrated on reading and comprehension. The training program of reading education professionals should consider three factors of reading such as readers, reading materials and reading professionals. It should include theory and philosophy and emphasize on educational experience and practice. It also should cover the neighboring knowledge related with reading education.

This study aims to understand human resource management in the Library of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) during the COVID-19 pandemic. This institution had to change its work procedures, including its management of human resources. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, carried out from October to December 2020. The findings show that working from home practices had the following impacts: reduced ability to concentrate while working; many forced changes to the work programme; and problems of miscommunication due to work instructions being conveyed through a WhatsApp group. In response to the situation, the planning function of management was used to suspend the recruitment of interns; the organizing function was divided up tasks into two or three working days a week; the actuating function was seen in the willingness of leadership to motivate staff and to optimize resources by providing training; and the controlling function was realized in an online presence and online reporting mechanisms. It was concluded that the implementation of human resource management in the library was achieved through flexibility and staff empowerment. This involved carrying out initiatives and controlling their effectiveness in response to whatever changes were required by the latest pronouncements from government. Obstacles were still encountered in the implementation of these changes, especially in relation to the organizing function of management, where some conflict was seen between the DPR RI librarians.

This study was to present a model of cooperative reading practice and verify reading effectiveness on youth. For this purpose, 68 reading clubs were established in 61 districts and 8 high schools. The research groups were classified as the poor reading group, the good reading group, and the mixed-skill reading group. The cooperative reading groups were carried out for four months. We developed a questionnaire on Reading effectiveness conducted it pre- and post-test, and analyzed the results through the SPSS statistical program. We found that there was a positive change in the reading effectiveness of youth and overall-the highest effectiveness was found in the poor reading group. In addition, there was a positive change in the reading behavior of youth. The change of reading effectiveness was found to affect reading behavior.

This study aims to identify factors to the effectiveness of librarians' continuing education, which is regarded as learning transfer, and to examine the relationship between the effectiveness and the factors identified. Learning transfer is defined as an intention to apply the lessons learned in the education to the learner's practice. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate continuing education experiences of university librarians. Findings indicate that characteristics of individual librarians, educational program, and organizational environment have to be taken into consideration to manage librarians' continuing education effectively. Therefore, it is suggested that the university library as an organization should control pre- and post-activities of continuing librarians' education at the library in order to maximize the learning transfer as the effectiveness of the education. Suggestions are developed with factors to the learning transfer to improve the effectiveness.

This study investigated the overall perceptions of pre-service school librarian teacher on the current education practicum through semi-structured in-depth interviews and suggested improvements to the educational practicum system. For this purpose, interview data were collected from 28 pre-service school librarian teacher (6 teachers' colleges, 14 taking teaching qualification courses, and 8 graduate school of education) who participated in educational practicum in school libraries, and a research method that combines qualitative analysis techniques with text network analysis was applied. The results of the study showed that pre-service school librarian teacher believe that educational practicum can prepare them for various field experiences and cultivate their ability to cope with situations they will encounter in the future. Through qualitative inquiry, we were able to identify their perceptions of school field practicum as a whole, their perceptions of the school field practicum, and their perceptions of educational service activities. Based on this, to improve the current problems of educational practice, we suggested expanding the period of school internship program, distributing the time, establishing a full-time practice system, having continuous discussions with field teachers, and developing a systematic school field practicum.

This study was conducted to identify the operation status of Dobong-gu public libraries in order to establish a mid- to long-term development plan for Dobong-gu libraries, and to analyze local residents' perceptions of libraries by factors through user surveys to suggest specific development plans for Dobong-gu libraries. Overall, the satisfaction level of Dobong-gu residents with library services was found to be high, and all libraries were analyzed to be providing high-quality services. From this, the following operational strategies for the mid- to long-term development plan of Dobong-gu public libraries can be derived. First, libraries need to continue to collect and provide books that meet the quantitative and qualitative levels to satisfy the needs of the community and users. Electronic and online materials, including e-books and audiobooks, as well as subject-specific materials should be expanded to provide relevant programs. Second, although Dobong-gu is an aging city, a wide range of age live there, so there is a need to promote communication and understanding between generations and promote integration of the community through a generational empathy program. Third, it is necessary to remodel and improve the space of aging libraries by organizing library facilities and environments into open spaces and creating makerspaces and multicultural spaces for direct experience and practice, reflecting the latest trends in library space organization.

Background: Various oral health management programs in Korea affect the oral health improvement in the elderly Several studies have been conducted to date; however, those studies have not shown uniform results due to the differences in research methods or designs. Hence, this study aimed to review the overall research trends of the reported oral health care programs for the elderly in Korea, verify their effects, and clarify them based on the systematic literature review. Methods: The literature search selected intervention studies that applied the oral health care program for the elderly in Korea from 2001 to 2020. Following the COre, Standard, and Ideal (COSI) models presented by the US National Library of Medicine, we selected databases including Korean studies Information Service System (KISS), ScienceOn, Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), DBpia, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Of the 1,335 studies searched using keywords, titles, and abstracts, 21 were finally selected based on primary and secondary exclusion criteria. Results: The most frequent intervention period was 4 weeks, and the number of interventions varied between 2 and 90 times. As for the type of intervention, 14 studies that conducted both theory and practice were the most frequent. Significant differences in the clinical indicators, such as calculus, halitosis, salivation rate, swallowing function, and dry mouth, were found in most oral health care programs. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, the intervention program needs further verification using multiple indicators in future studies. In addition, a study extending the intervention period and the number of samples is considered necessary for verifying continuous effectiveness of the intervention program.
