In this paper, we propose an analysis of the sound source of virtual orchestral music in detail by using the production technology of sampling and playback, and technical experiments and verification for the most advanced Hollywood Library series of timbre and the timbre production and control technology of Vienna instrument Pro and other softwares, to find their solutions and come up with the best timbre production method for orchestral music from the perspective of the specific design ideas of the productions of virtual orchestral instruments. The so-called virtual orchestral instruments are non-real orchestral instruments, which are based on the imitation of timbre of real orchestral instruments, processed and synthesized through the scientific and technological means, and produced by the use of electronic equipments or computers. The study of virtual timbre production technology is very important, and it is like the study of composers' creative techniques. Not only scientific and advanced timbre production methods can be obtained from the study, but also new ways of future timbre production are expected to be explored.

Purpose: The purpose of this review was to assess the quality and to evaluate the effectiveness of music interventions in reducing agitation in older adults with dementia. Methods: Randomized controlled studies and randomized crossover studies were identified by searching MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, AGELINE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Korea Med, Kmbase, RISS, National Assembly Digital Library, KISS, and RICH. Two reviewers independently retrieved articles, extracted data, and assessed the quality of studies. Results: In total, 10 studies were selected from 1095 unique citations. All included studies were conducted in long term care settings. Overall, risk of bias for included studies was low to moderate. The weighted average effect size across studies was -0.39 (95%CI [-0.69, -0.10], p=.009, $I^2=63%$). Music therapy was effective to reduce agitation of the older adults with dementia. Conclusion: Music intervention can be an effective non-pharmacological intervention for the reduction of agitation in dementia. Future studies need to use rigorous research method and to provide description of research methods in greater detail. In addition, future studies are required to explore the effects of music therapy according to severity of agitation and dementia.

This paper describes design and implementation of the system that is used to efficiently retrieve music information at a digital music library. Unlike typical music information retrieval systems, this system allows the user to sing a part of the melody through the microphone which he/she wants to find rather than using title, composer or the subject catalog to search. The system then recognizes the musical notes information through the signal processing of the sounds of the entered melody, and the intervals contour is created based on this information and used as a search pattern. By running the proposed notes string search algorithm that uses the musical notes information processed with the user input, and it produces the approximate search results. Therefore, users are able to retrieve and appreciate the music whenever he/she can sing any portion of the desired music.

The purpose of this study is to observe and analyze information searching behaviors of various user groups in different access modes for designing user-centered query interface of content-based Music Information Retrieval System(MIRS). Two expert groups and two non-expert groups were recruited for this research. The data gathering techniques employed in this study were in-depth interviewing, participant observation, searching task experiments, think-aloud protocols, and post-search surveys. Expert users, especially majoring in music theory, preferred to input exact notes one by one using the devices such as keyboard and musical score. On the other hand, non-expert users preferred to input melodic contours by humming.

The purpose of this study is to investigate material designation in library cataloging and to suggest General Material Designation (GMD) and Specific Material Designation(SMD) in Korean. A summary of the study follows. In library cataloging, methods of indicating the type of material are : (1) color-coding, (2) media code as part of the call number, (3) material designation in physical description area or note area, (4) GMD and SMD. GMD is a term indicating the broad class of material to which a bibliographic item belongs. SMD is a term indicating the special class of material to which a bibliographic item belongs. GMD was listed in parenthesis following the title proper before AACR1975 code, but currently it is listed in square brackets after the AACR1975 code. AACR2 was the standard cataloging rule in GMD and SMD terminology. It is suggested that GMD be used in Korean for graphic material, sound recordings, drawings, microform, multimedia, videorecordings, manuscripts, photographs, slides, printed music, motion pictures, printed texts, objects, braille, cartographic materials, computer files and transparenies.

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the effects of music therapy on cognitive function, agitation, anxiety and depression in the elderly with dementia. Method: A comprehensive literature search was performed on PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, Web of Science, Google scholar and PsycINFO, for the period 2010 to 2019. In the meta-analysis, the standardized mean difference (Hedges' g) and 95% confidence interval were calculated as summary measure, and the random effect model and inverse variance method were applied using the RevMan 5.4 program. A total of 13 studies were included; all were determined to be acceptable, based on the Cochrane collaboration's tool for assessing risk of bias. Results: The effect size (Hedges' g) was 0.31 (95% CI: -0.02, 0.65) for cognition and -0.03 (95% CI: -0.17, 0.11) for agitation behavior as the primary outcomes, and 0.61 (95% CI: -1.17, -0.05) for anxiety and -0.44(95% CI: -0.88, 0.00) for depression as the secondary outcomes. Subgroup analysis by type of music intervention revealed that combined music therapy has a significantly increasing beneficial effect on cognition of dementia patients (g=0.45[95% CI: 0.03, 0.87]). Conclusion: Music therapy was determined to exert beneficial effects in reducing anxiety and depression, and combined music therapy demonstrated improved cognitive functions in elderly patients with dementia.

본 연구의 목적은 순간적 시간흐름 면담기법과 Think-Aloud 면담기법을 통해 클래식 음악 이용자들의 정보탐색행태를 파악하는 것이다. 이용자들의 정보탐색행태는 키워드 검색, 브라우징, 스마트폰 어플리케이션 활용의 세 가지 행태로 나타났다. 이를 통해 클래식 음악 이용자들이 검색과정에 겪는 문제점을 파악하고, 향후 이용자의 요구사항을 반영한 클래식음악 검색시스템 설계에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The patent right is that creators are received the right of monopoly for supporting their creation work perseveringly but sometimes it causes infringement of freedom of creation. In this study, we examine the patent of music game in arcade game field and also examine Konami's, which is a main producer in this field, institutes many lawsuits repeatedly. It brought on diversion of rivals and depression of game market. We examine the abuse of music game patent through the case of Konami. We examine the negative influence through all music game market that creativity blocked by repetitive patent lawsuit institutes from little change of operation device and music game hardware even though it is reasonable for guarantee of new technology patent in game field which is a idea industry. We examine the lawsuit cases of abuse of music game patent in Korea, China and Japan and we analyze market change through the cases. We recommend policy for this industry development.

This study suggests adaptations and expansions of DDC 21 for the Korean libraries. Adapted and expanded tables of Table 2, Table 5, and Table 6 are added regularly in the related subjects in the schedules. Classes of 200 Religion and 745.61 Calligraphy are newly adapted and expanded. Classes for Oriental medicine (610.95) and Korean music (789) are suggested. Other classes of 030, 050, 060, 070, 080, 181, 310, 340, 400, 800, 915, 950 are adapted based on the previous studies.
