해방 이후 1960년대 중반까지 마산 외식업의 변화 - 「마산일보(馬山日報)」 광고분석을 중심으로 - (The Change of Masan's Restaurant Business from Liberation until the mid-1960s - Focused on Analysis of the 「MasanIlbo」 Advertisememts -)

  • This research was undertaken to examine Masan's regional food service industry, which experienced drastic changes due to liberation and the Korean war. Analysis of restaurant advertisements in 'Masanilbo' revealed a total of 92 restaurants during this period. The numbers of restaurants classified by the time periods are 18 (1946 to 1950), 27 (1951 to 1955), 17 (1956 to 1960), and 30 (1961 to 1966). 'Gomguk' gained popularity in the early 1900s and became a speciality of Masan, resulting in the appearance of numerous Gomguk restaurant advertisements. After independence, Japanese foods were predominant in Masan since the population was used to eating Japanese dishes during the colonial era. Moreover, there was a major influence of the people who returned to the homeland. Masan was the place for refugees during the 6.25 war, resulting in the popularity of 'Naengmyeon'; advertisements largely displayed 'Pyeongyangnaengmyeon' during the early 1950s, and 'Hamheungnaengmyeon' during the early 1960s. Western food advertisements usually introduced 'Dongaseu' and 'Kareraiseu', which were deeply influenced by Japanese culture. These various contributions resulted in alterations in the food menu, such as the rise of fusion food which is not bound to any nation, spread of Japanese food culture, and popularity of 'Naengmyeon'.

  • This research focused on the regional and temporal attributes of tuff architecture in Mokpo, spanning the Japanese colonial period and the post-liberation era. It aimed to uncover the distinct regional and temporal features of tuff architecture by integrating concepts from vernacular architecture and regionalism, framed through a lens of critical regionalism. The study traced the historical progression of tuff architecture in Mokpo within this context. A significant part of the research was an in-depth analysis of four constructions by Son Yang-dong, a renowned technician in post-liberation Mokpo, to closely examine the contemporary relevance and regional significance of his work. Tuff, as an indigenous material, distinctly articulates the local architectural character. In line with regional properties of tuff, the material has adeptly responded to contemporary construction needs. This has laid a foundation for the development of innovative building designs and techniques. Tuff architecture is particularly noted for its exhibition of raw material textures, offering a unique aesthetic that diverges from classical Western architectural styles. Importantly, through the examination of Son Yang-dong's contributions, the study highlights the role of Korean builders in an industry dominated by Japanese influences during the colonial period, underscoring a strong regional identity. As a representation of Mokpo, tuff architecture not only upholds and protects regional identity within the broader scope of Western modernization and Japanese impacts but also plays a role in its progressive enhancement.

  • Purpose - This aim of this study is to examine how conglomerates in Korea have evolved from the perspective of institutional economics. The growth of the economy, dominated by large conglomerates, is projected in light of the dynamic equilibrium between government and capitalists. Research design, data, and methodology - The historical formation of big business groups is examined in chronological order. For the analysis, we divide the assessment into three different eras: Japanese colonial rule, liberation up to the civil war, and the fast growing period since the military coup. Each period is viewed as a dynamic equilibrium that is shaped by economic agents. Results and Conclusion - Despite the rise of modern commerce during the colonial era, contemporary conglomerates came into being with the "enemy property" allotted by the government. Around the civil war, the government coexisted with prototype conglomerates through foreign aid. As the external aid decreased, the system could not be sustained anymore, thus the military coup took place. The reinstated strong bond between government and the conglomerates has shaped the forms of the modern conglomerates thereafter.

  • 본 연구는 해방 이후 현대 교육의 이상적 인간상을 살펴보기 위하여 우선 해방 이후에서 90년대에 이르는 시기를 광복 이후 분단까지의 '전환기'와, 경제성장을 통한 현대 국가 발전의 기반이 된 '산업화 시기', 그리고 다양한 계층의 사람들이 정치?경제?사회 참여를 요구하는 '민주화 시기'의 세 시기로 구분하고, 각 시기의 특성에 대해 정치 경제 사회 문화 등 다양한 측면에서의 접근을 시도하였다. 특히, 교육적 인간상의 추출을 위하여 이들 각 시기의 주요 가치를 탐색함으로써 이와 관련한 각 시기별 인간상을 고찰하였다. 시기별로 나타나는 주요가치와 인재상은 다음과 같다. 전환기의 주요가치로는 예의와 규범을 제시할 수 있으며, 추구하는 인재상은 무실역행(務實力行)하는 자세가 강조되는 실천적 지식이었다. 산업화 시기의 주요가치로는 성실, 근면, 자조, 협동을 제시할 수 있으며, 추구하는 인재상은 경제발전에 필수적이고 강력한 직업능력을 갖춘 기능인이었다. 민주화의 주요가치로는 참여, 평등, 공존을 제시할 수 있으며, 추구하는 인재상은 경제성장의 둔화라는 위기감 속에서 국가의 생존과 번영을 위하여 이바지하는 우수한 과학인재상이었다. 각 시기별 인재상은 실용적이면서도 실천적인 유형의 인간상이 드러나고 있으며 공동체적 덕성을 중시하고 있는데, 이는 전통적인 가치관의 연속선상에서 시기별 특징을 보여주고 있는 대목이기도 하다.

근대 이후 한국 육류 소비량과 소비문화의 변화 - 쇠고기·돼지고기를 중심으로- (Transition of Korean Meat Consumption and Consumption Trends after Modern Times - Focused on Beef and Pork -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate changes in Korean meat consumption as well as meat consumption trends. During the Japanese occupation period, the supply of meat was considerably insufficient. However, meat consumption mainly in large cities has gradually increased. Especially, 'Pyeongyang cow', a specialty of Pyeongyang, started being raised as edible beef cattle in 1933. During the chaotic period following liberation from Japan, the price of meat sharply increased. However, as the meat supply stabilized, the 'beef grade system' was introduced in 1967. Since then, beef has sold according to region. During the early economic growth period of the mid-1970s, meat consumption rapidly increased, and foreign beef was first imported in 1976. The preference for beef was somewhat attenuated due to the outbreak of mad cow disease and economic slowdown of the 1990s, resulting in an increase in the consumption of pork, a replacement meat. During the recent period of economic development, meat consumption has somewhat fallen and remained low. In late 2003, with the occurrence of mad cow disease in the US, the demand for pork, and especially pork fatback, has sharply increased.

시대별 대중가요로 살펴본 사회경제적 함의 (Socio-Economic Implications of Korean Popular Songs per period)

  • 본 연구에서는 시대별 대중가요를 일제강점기, 해방 후~6·25전쟁 전까지, 6·25전쟁~1959년까지 세 시기로 나누어 대중가요 속의 사회경제적 함의를 모색하였다. 본고의 시대별 대중가요로 살펴본 사회경제적 탐색은 당시 사회경제적 상황을 잘 담고 있고, 생활친화적일 뿐만 아니라 시대별 대중가요를 통해 경제를 살펴볼 경우 자연스럽게 학문 간의 융합이 이루어지므로 학제간 연구(interdisciplinary study)로서의 가치를 가진다. 아울러 세방화 전략(glocalization strategy)으로서의 가치 및 창의성의 증대, 경쟁력 강화의 모색이라는 관점에서 큰 의의를 가진다.

한국 어린이도서관의 발전과정에 대한 역사적 연구: 1945-2002 (A Historical Study on the Children's Libraries in Korea During the Period from 1945 to 2002)

  • 본 연구는 1945년 해방 이후부터 2002년까지를 중심으로 한국 어린이도서관의 전개과정을 시기별로 고찰하고 그 특성을 분석하였다. 한국 어린이도서관의 발전과정을 다음과 같이 구분하였다. 첫째, 1945년 해방 이후부터 1976년까지는 어린이도서관의 준비기로, 공공도서관 어린이실을 중심으로 어린이를 위한 도서관 서비스를 시작하였다. 그러나 이 시기에는 어린이도서관에 대한 인식이 미약하여 어린이도서관이 설립되지 못하였다. 둘째, 1977년 부터 2002년까지는 어린이도서관의 성장기로, 어린이에게 도서관서비스를 제공하는 것을 주된 목적으로 하는 어린이도서관이 처음 등장하였고, 이 시기 어린이도서관은 공공영역보다 주로 민간영역에서 설립되었다.

2007 교육과정 개정 전과 후의 실과 및 가정과 의생활 교육내용 분석 (Analysis of the Contents of Clothing and Textiles Education of Practical Arts and Home Economics Education between before and after the Revision of the 7th Curriculum)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라의 의생활교육을 통시적으로 고찰한 문헌연구로 의생활 교육내용을 문헌을 통하여 역사적으로 고찰하였고, 2007년 제7차 개정 교육과정을 분석하였다. 학교교육법 이전의 의생활에 관한 교육은 비형식적으로 가사기술, 생활기술, 가정기술의 일부로 행해져왔다. 그러므로 형식적인 학교교육이 시작되는 구한말부터 시작하여 이후 해방 전과 후로 분류하여 의생활교육의 변천내용을 상세히 고찰하였다. 또한 제7차 교육과정의 개정 전과 후의 의생활 교육내용을 비교, 분석하여 논의하였다. 구한말과 해방 전에는 재봉, 수예, 가사 위주의 의생활교육이었으나, 해방 후에는 가정교과 속의 의생활 영역으로 자리 매겨졌다. 제1차 교육과정기부터 제5차 교육과정기까지는 시수도 많고 내용도 심화되었으며, 특히 제4, 5차 교육과정기에는 가정생활 영역이 강화되는 계기를 맞았다. 제6차 교육과정기에는 시수는 줄었으나, 학년의 확대와 함께 이론과 실기의 균형은 고려되었으며, 중등 가정과는 독립교과를 유지하였다 그러나 제7차 교육과정기에 초등에서는 기능편중의 균형이 맞지 않은 의생활교육이 이루어졌고, 중등은 기술과 가정 교과의 통합으로 인하여 명칭에 있어서는 독립성이 없어지고 내용면에서도 축소되었다. 제7차 교육과정의 개정 후의 의생활 내용은 학년간의 균형있는 분배, 내용에서 이론과 실기의 균형있는 배분, 교육수요자들의 요구도를 반영하여 의생활교육상 많은 개선과 진보가 이루어졌다. 그러나 학습자의 흥미와 관심에 어느 정도 부합되는 내용인지는 앞으로 더 연구하고 해결해야 할 과제로 남겨졌다. 의생활 교육내용이 가정교과의 기본요구와 같은 내재적 원리 이외에도 학습자의 요구나 사회적 필요성과 같은 외재적인 요구를 반영해야 한다는 것이 교육과정의 기본원칙이므로 학습자 중심의 본 교육과정 하에서는 패션소품 제작, 유행을 고려한 옷차림 등 학생들이 관심있는 내용을 고려, 반영해야 할 필요가 있다. 학생들의 가치관이 다양화되고 있는 만큼 의생활에 흥미와 관심과 의욕을 가질 수 있도록 충실한 의생활교육이 요구되는 시대에 맞게, 내용은 물론 수업체제를 발전시키는 것이 큰 과제라고 할 수 있다. 이렇게 변화하는 사회, 생활에 학교교육이 발맞춰 나가기 위해서는 교육과정의 틀을 바꾸는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니므로, 교과서의 내용을 교육과정 개정주기보다 자주 정기적으로 개편하여 내용을 수정, 보완할 수 있도록 그 방법을 모색해야 할 것이다.

On the Characteristics of Physical Training Content in Seo Sang-cheon's Writings by Period

  • Seo Sang-cheon (1903-1950) was a sports leader and administrator who contributed greatly to the development of Korean sports after Japanese colonial era and liberation. And to us, he is known as the first person to introduce weightlifting to Korea. In this paper, through the main contents of the books of the 1930s related to this research topic, including the Modern Physical Fitness Promotion Act (1931) and the Modern Iron Stick Movement Act (1934), the main contents of Seo Sang-cheon's books related to physical training during this period, I would like to illuminate the characteristics such as infinite affirmation of the 'body training' and the exposure of disciplined upper body photographs in Seo Sang-cheon's writings related to physical training during this period. On the one hand, contrary to this, I tried to mention the regrets of his writings and political moves emphasizing the 'spirit' after the 1940s. We found that Seo Sang-cheon's early writings were focused on individual physical training, beyond the boundaries of nation and ethnicity. In contrast, his later writings reflect a shift towards thinking of personal physical training in alignment with the development of the state. We believe that this change in his writings demonstrates that Seo Sang-cheon's interests extended beyond physical education into political and social spheres, while also symbolizing a transformation in his perception of the body.

한국현대여성복식제도(韓國現代女性服飾制度)의 변천과정연구(變遷過程硏究) (A study on the transitional process of clothes in modern Korean women)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of clothes in modem Korean women in terms of a socioeconomical background, the introduction to western clothes, and the improvement of clothes between the opening period of ports in the early 1900's and 1960's. In addition, the study investigated how western clothes became popular in a Korean society along with the traditional' Korean clothes, Hanbok. The radical social change since the opening of ports motivated the change in the way of Korean women's thinking, and consequenty the improvement of Hanbok which developed into the clothes-improvement-movement. It was not until 1905 that the improvement of clothes was hotly debated particularly in the matter of abolishing Jangeui and the extreme length of Jeogori and Chima. The Tongchima-Jeogori style which lengthened Jeogori and shortened Chima was widely accepted as everyday wear until the western clothes substituted them after the Independence from Japanese Conquest. As the length of Chima shortened, there occurred a change in Boson and Jipsin as well. There appeared shoes and Gomoosin in place of Jipsin, socks in stead of Boson and were popularized until after the Liberation in 1945. The popularity of Gomoosin diminished markedly with the diversification of shoes styles, due to the improvement of the standard of living with economic development in the 1960's. The traditional Hanbok was gradually differentiated according to the social status, for instance student, teachers, ordinary women, girls and Kisaeng. Especially since the white clothes caused much trouble in washing and sewing, there came into being the movement of wearing colorful clothes. The Movement of abolishing white clothes and promoting of wearing colorful clothes was enforced during the period of Japaness conquest from the 1920's to the Liberation, which consequently stimulated an interest for colors of clothes. The period under the war between 1937 and 1945 was especially noted for the extreme regulation over the clothes. The Japanese government forced each group of women, e.g., girl students, a young women's association, school teachers, and ordinary women and girls, to wear their own uniforms. Also, It recommended the use of Tongchima in stead of long skirts, and buttons in place of Coreum so as to conserve textile encouraging the use of other substitutes to save resources. The western clothes, a model of clothe's improvement was deemed as a symbol of modernization and enjoyed general popularity. The supply of relief clothes after the Korean war accelerated the expansion of western clothes even further and the trend of westernization along with economic progress in the 1960's resulted in wearing of western clothes as everyday dress. The expansion of western clothes as casual wear rapidly diminished wearing of Hanbok which in turn took the position of ceremonial dress worn in special cases only. Hence the Korean women's clothes were dualized into traditional Hanbok and western clothes and the western clothes that stems on its convenience was settled as everyday wear where as the Hanbok appeared as ceremonial dress stressing on ornamental features. As mentioned aboved, we are able to discovered an orientation in the course of transitional process of modern Korean women's clothes admist diversified changes, which is a consistent pursuit of convenience and practicality based upon progmatism. The trend such as this carne into a finale' as women's dress became dualistic in forms of Hanbok and western clothes, and the change since then is supposed to proceed in two forms of dress featuring its own style.
