While disk can be overwritten on updating data, because flash memory can not be overwritten on updating data, new data are updated in new area. If data are frequently updated, garbage collection, which is achieved by erasing blocks, should be performed to reclaim new area. Hence, because the number of erase operations is limited due to characteristics of flash memory, every block should be evenly written and erased. However, if data with access locality are processed by cost benefit algorithm with separation of hot block and cold block, though the performance of processing is high, wear-leveling is not even. In this paper, we propose CB-MB (Cost Benefit between Multi Bank) algorithm in which hot data are allocated in one bank and cold data in another bank, and in which role of hot bank and cold bank is exchanged every period. CB-MB showed that its performance was similar to that of others for uniform workload, however, the method provides much better performance than that of others for workload of access locality.
This paper evaluated applicability of railroad reference points for determinating geoid heights. For this research, reference points on the Honam express raildroad which contain ellipsoid heights estimated by GPS/Leveling and orthometric heights by leveling were used. Geoid heights were calculated uisng orthometric and ellipsoid heights of 360 railroad reference points, and the RMSE's with respect to different intervals of reference points were analysed which were induced by interpolation methods. The results showed that no significant difference of RMSE's among interpolation. methods. RMSE's of 0-4km interval of reference points were determined within 2cm and 5-8km were within 3cm. Also, this research confirmed that GPS leveling with Geoid model is not auurate enough to be used for railroad surveying as yet.
Storage device based on Flash Memory have many attractive features such as high performance, low power consumption, shock resistance, and low weight, so they replace HDDs to a certain extent. An Storage device based on Flash Memory has FTL(Flash Translation Layer) which emulate block storage devices like HDDs. A garbage collection, one of major functions of FTL, effects highly on the performance and the lifetime of devices. However, there is no de facto standard for new garbage collection algorithms. To solve this problem, we propose File Clustering Algorithm. File Clustering Algorithm respect to update page from same file at the same time. So, these are clustered to same block. For this mechanism, We propose Page Allocation Policy in FTL and use MIN-MAX GAP to guarantee wear leveling. To verify the algorithm in this paper, we use TPC Benchmark. So, The performance evaluation reveals that the proposed algorithm has comparable result with the existing algorithms(No wear leveling, Hot/Cold) and shows approximately 690% improvement in terms of the wear leveling.

To make a satisfactory decision regarding project scheduling, a trade-off between the resource-related cost and project duration must be considered. A beneficial method for decision makers is to provide a number of alternative schedules of diverse project duration with minimum resource cost. In view of optimization, the alternative schedules are Pareto sets under multi-objective of project duration and resource cost. Assuming that resource cost is closely related to resource leveling, a heuristic algorithm for resource capacity reduction (HRCR) is developed in this study in order to generate the Pareto sets efficiently. The heuristic is based on the fact that resource leveling can be improved by systematically reducing the resource capacity. Once the reduced resource capacity is given, a schedule with minimum project duration can be obtained by solving a resource-constrained project scheduling problem. In HRCR, VNS (Variable Neighborhood Search) is implemented to solve the resource-constrained project scheduling problem. Extensive experiments to evaluate the HRCR performance are accomplished with standard benchmarking data sets, PSPLIB. Considering 5 resource leveling objective functions, it is shown that HRCR outperforms well-known multi-objective optimization algorithm, SPEA2 (Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm-2), in generating dominant Pareto sets. The number of approximate Pareto optimal also can be extended by modifying weight parameter to reduce resource capacity in HRCR.

To utilize the survey method using the geodetic satellite GPS, we tried to analysis the GPS/Leveling and the geopotential model of the 26 GPS observation points including 23 BM and 3 triangulation points with approximately 16-km interval selected from the Andong geographic map with a scale of 1:250,000. The average deviations of the geopotential model calculated from the results of analysis to the GPS/Leveling and the previously developed geopotential models(EGM96, OSU91A, and KGEOID), are 0.493 m, 0.277 m, and 0.195 m, respectively and RMS errors are $\pm$0.299 m, $\pm$0.152 m, and $\pm$ 0.133 m. The general trend of geoid undulations, however, shows an increasing pattern to the NW-SE direction. It has been also reported that the geoid undulation related with topographic-highs and geoid-highs although very poor relationship is shown in this area.

Since a construction project is a series of works that utilizes resources to accomplish the project goal for a given time period, efficient resource management is a prerequisite for the success of the project. Two major areas of resource management are resource constrained scheduling focusing on the limited resource availability and resource leveling focusing on smoothing resource usage pattern on the fixed project completion time. It is not available, however, to apply both techniques to a project at the same time. This paper proposes a model to enhance the minimum moment algorithm of resource leveling, aiming to find an efficient usage of resources and an appropriate project completion time. A survey was performed to evaluate the major five factors in the model. A case study demonstrates the value of the proposed resource leveling technique.

A mound was constructed to install a caisson and sofa blocks underwater. The mound riprap, which were of uniform grade, size, shape, and specific gravity, formed the foundation for the support superstructure. Also, rubble leveling works were performed before installing structures such as caissons. In this study, underwater construction equipment was developed with a remotely controlled operating system and underwater environment monitoring system for unmanned underwater rubble leveling work. The performance of the developed equipment was verified using on-land and underwater tests. In addition to the performance verification, the construction process and economic efficiency of the equipment should be checked before applying it to the real construction field for commercial purposes. In this paper, a construction process using the developed equipment was proposed and compared with the existing rubble leveling method. The results demonstrated that the new construction method has higher economic efficiency and safety than the existing construction method.

During a hypothetical core-disruptive accident (CDA) in a sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR), degraded core materials can form roughly conically-shaped debris beds over the core-support structure and/or in the lower inlet plenum of the reactor vessel from rapid quenching and fragmentation of the core material pool. However, coolant boiling may ultimately lead to leveling of the debris bed, which is crucial to the relocation of the molten core and heat-removal capability of the debris bed. To clarify the mechanisms underlying this self-leveling behavior, a large number of experiments were performed within a variety of conditions in recent years, under the constructive collaboration between the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) and Kyushu University (Japan). The present contribution synthesizes and gives detailed comparative analyses of those experiments. Effects of various experimental parameters that may have potential influence on the leveling process, such as boiling mode, particle size, particle density, particle shape, bubbling rate, water depth and column geometry, were investigated, thus giving a large palette of favorable data for the better understanding of CDAs, and improved verifications of computer models developed in advanced fast reactor safety analysis codes.
The center of rotation of angulation-based leveling osteotomy (CBLO) has been introduced for the stabilization of cranial cruciate ligament rupture (CCLR) in small-breed dogs. This technique can be applied to the tibia without damaging its tuberosity. Although different designs of CBLO plates are available, tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) plates have been still used for stabilization during CBLO. To the best of our knowledge, no studies have reported the effects of TPLO plates on the postoperative limb alignment after CBLO. Therefore, the present study (January 2020 to February 2021) aimed to compare the postoperative outcomes (postoperative tibial plateau angle [TPA] and tibial alignment) in patients receiving CBLO and TPLO plates during CBLO. Paired stifle joints (n = 16) were obtained from eight toy-breed cadaver dogs (mean weight, 4.4 kg) that underwent CBLO. The joints were randomly assigned to receive the CBLO (CBLO group) or TPLO plates (TPLO group). Pre-and postoperative radiographs were obtained, and the dissected tibiae were evaluated. The following postoperative parameters were compared to evaluate the surgical outcome: TPA, osteotomy location, mechanical medial proximal tibia angle, inter-segment gap, and tibial plateau translation. No significant differences were found in the postoperative alignment between the two groups. Therefore, TPLO plates may be considered as a viable alternative in toy-breed dogs undergoing CBLO.

This study presents the detailed methods for university facilities mapping using GPS and totalstation. In the control survey by GPS network adjustment, the level of significance for the height value of fourth order triangulation stations was estimated about loom. The accuracy analysis of height determination by totalstation for the traverse points showed that the RMSE came out 9mm to the basis of direct leveling, so it indicated that trigonometric leveling by totalstation was correct comparatively. For GPS/RTK method, the result of accuracy analysis about traverse points showed that the RMSE came out 33㎜ in horizontal location to the basis of totalstation's outcome and 15㎜ in height value to the basis of direct leveling. In the construction survey, GPS/RTK surveying is quicker and more economical than totalstation surveying in the feasible areas of GPS surveying, but there were many impossible areas lot GPS/RTK surveying by the obstacles like a building.
