  • This paper addresses the design and the gait control of quadruped walking robot. First, we concern the mechanical and electronical(control system) hardware of walking robot, and the second is the results of experiments. The walking robot is the most suitable form to substitute fot human being. So walking robot is worthy of research. The quadruped walking robot and control system is the simplest type of walking robot, therefore we designed a small seale robot for realization of static gait. The robot is designed commpactly and its legs are constructed parallel link type and able to move freely in space. Control system consists of one upper level controller and four lower level controllers. The upper level controller plans the walking path and commands the low level controllers to follow the planned path. The main function of low level cotrollers is control of motors. Total number of motors is twealve and they operate four legs. And robot is ordered to walk and realize static wave gait.

  • Nursing's traditional concern for human well being includes concern for health promotion. Until recently textbooks of preventive medicine, public health and community health nursing have defined health prevention- the prevention of disease and health protection or maintenace, but not health promotion. Lack of clear definitions inhibit effective communication among health related disciplines. Therefore, this studys task was the analysis and definition of the concept of health promotion using Walker & Avant's concept analysis methodology. This characteristics of the concept of health promotion are 1) orientation toward well - being, 2) empowering, 3) subjectivity, 4) change and 5) expanded connecteness. Antecedent of health promotion are 1) attaining of a healthy state, 2) having purpose and will to act, 3) persistent and realistic behaviour. The consequences of health promotion are 1) prolonged life, 2) self-actualizing potential, 3) increased well-being and a high level quality of life. The future direction of health promotion research should include that identification of the differences in the definition of between health professionals and health clients and research related to nursing theory of health promotion.

  • Ceratopteris thalictroides is a semi-aquatic fern with a circumtropical distribution. Because this species is designated internationally on the IUCN Red List as requiring at least some concern, Korean populations are of great concern for the species' long-term survival, as they are at the northern limit of the species distribution. To establish an effective conservation strategy for those populations at the genetic level, we used the Mi-Seq platform to develop three sets of 25 polymorphic microsatellite markers for C. thalictroides, which is endangered in Korea. In populations sampled from Busan and Gochang, the number of alleles ranged from 2 to 13 (average of 5.64), and plants presented an expected heterozygosity of 0.000 to 0.860. These markers will be useful for evaluating the genetic status and conserving Korean populations of C. thalictroides more effectively.

  • Social Networking Sites (hereafter SNSs) have become a part of people's daily routines. Beginning as a hobby/communicating tool for a specific group of people, SNSs have expanded in terms of the number of users, frequency of access, and depth and range of sharing. It is recently reported that the users experience SNS fatigue from being connected at all time. However, limited research has addressed this issue. The purpose of the present study was to examine the mediating role of reputational concern and expectation of others' responses on the relationship between narcissism and Facebook fatigue. A total of 329 Facebook users completed an online survey. The results showed that individuals who rated high on narcissism experienced a high level of Facebook fatigue, and that both reputational concern and expectation of others' responses partially mediated the relationship between narcissism and fatigue. Implications of the findings and suggestions for future research are discussed.

  • Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), an octane booster that is added to the reformulated gasoline, has been a widespread contaminant in aquatic ecosystem. MTBE is a recalcitrant pollutant having low biodegradability. Due to its higher water solubility and low octanol-water partition coefficient, it can be rapidly transported to the surrounding water environment. Also, MTBE is a known animal carcinogen, and is classified as a possible human carcinogen by U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. The adverse effect of MTBE to aquatic biota was widely reported. In Korea, the recent detection of MTBE in groundwater near gasoline filling stations has drawn concern to public health and ecosystem. To address this concern, the effect of MTBE to human health and ecosystem was discussed in this review. Also, ecotoxicity data of MTBE for fish, invertebrates, and algae were extensively compared to estimate the hazard concentration 5($HC_5$) of MTBE as a screening level.

  • This study investigated college students' health status, health attitudes, and eating and general health practices. They then were compared to the students' degree of health consciousness. Four hundred college students in Pusan participated in this study, of which 203 were young men and 197 young women. While college students considered that they were generally healthy, there were a number of negative health factors, such as fatigue and stress, particularly amongst the young women. They were not particularly concerned about or active in taking care of their health. There were, for example, problems of smoking and drinking among the young men, and a lack of exercise among female students. Female had more eating problems than male frequency and consistency in the quantity of meals, overeating, and snacking. On the other hand, women seemed to show more possibilities for improving the food habits. Health status did not appear to co vary significantly with the degree of health con sciousness. However, the higher the level of health concern, the more interest in health information and weight gain anxiety students had, and the more active measures in health care they took. Students who had high or moderate concern for health practiced more desirable eating habit than students who lacked this concern. In conclusion, educational programs which can increase concern for health among college students should be prepared in order to maintain their bodily health now and in the future. If such programs were developed with gender differences in mind, making college students take a positive attitude towards health issues and management of their own health, it would be more effective.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine and understand the level of vanity and body shaping management and the relationships among related variables. The data were collected from about 140 middle school girls, 186 high school girls, and 194 college female students in Ulsan City using a self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire included questions such as general characteristics of the subjects, vanity, and body shaping management. There were statistically significant differences in the 4 vanity sub-scales except physical concern and the body shaping management among the school groups(middle school, high school, college) and socio-economic status groups(low, middle, high). Socio-economic status, physical concern and view, and age were affected significantly on the body shaping management. Moderate vanity and body shaping management can prevent obesity and motivate personal development. A nutrition education program for excessive groups in the vanity and body shaping management needs to be developed.

  • In Japan, where ISO14001 certifications have passed the 10,000 mark, the need for environmental management has taken firm root among companies. However, in the small-and medium-enterprise sector, and among tiny businesses, there are firms not obtaining ISO certification due to their concern about human resources and increased work load. On the other hand, among businesses that have already succeeded in gaining ISO certification. one does not sense any growth with regard to the continual improvement. Voices from certain quarters indicate there is a lack of incentive to keep on improving. With this background, we herewith present a new system to evaluate the level of environmental management in a company by means of a 5-step system.

  • This study was conducted in order to identify the level of dietary behavior and investigate factors that influence dietary behavior in nursing students. This study was a descriptive survey including 304 students in D city. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS 18. The average score of the subject's dietary behavior was 2.72. In the correlation of dietary behavior, there was a significant positive correlation with health concern and dietary attitude, and there was no correlation with nutrition knowledge. Models including the variables, health concern, perceived health status, exercise, dietary attitude and residential type explained 24.4% of the variance for dietary behavior. Health concern was the most influential factor. A practical intervention program which includes these significant variables of subjects is essential to improve of good dietary behavior.
