The general purpose of deposit is to ensure that the knowledge of the present is not lost to the future. By today the status of legal deposit scheme in various countries including Korea is focusing on paper-based publication or tangible electronic publications. Born-digital publications including electronic books should be registered and be deposited for meeting the aims of deposit. This study presents the findings on deposit legislation, deposit arrangement, and accessing methods of networked electronic publications. The study suggests electronic deposit system, and outlines the technical and procedural challenges involved in developing the deposit system.

This study aims to suggest a strategic alliance between libraries and publishers in Korea. When it considers the linear distribution channel of current publications and the entity and a butterfly effect of knowledge communication crisis, the publishers as production agency and the library as consuming subject must search a strategic cooperative plans. In order to achieve this goal, the study analysed the four issues(fixed book prices, library infrastructure, book and library supply policy of government, legal deposit system) which is important.

The goal of this study is to propose the plan for strengthening organizational competences related to the collection development function of the national library. For this goal, author analyzed and compared the organizational characteristics of departments for legal deposit in national libraries of nine developed countries, derived the limitations and weaknesses of legal tasks, policy documents, and collection development tasks by organizational units of the National library of Korea. Based on these results, author suggested the centralization of collection policy and legal deposit function, th name change and total restructuring of collection acquisition division, and its manpower reinforcement, etc.

Exploitation of transboundary oil and gas on continental shelves may cause conflicts between or among States concerned due to the physical character of these resources. As oil and gas are fluid, exploitation of such a transboundary oil field by one side may affect other parties in other jurisdictions. However, there is no universal international legal regime on the issue. This article tries to find the international legal regime governing such resources through analysing UN Assembly's resolutions, UNCLOS, international judicial opinions, bilateral agreements and ILC activities relating to transboundary natural resources. As a result of this study, it seems that each coastal State has an inherent sovereign right on its part of the transboundary oil and gas deposit, but this right is not unlimited. Each state involved with the deposit has a duty to cooperate with other states-through information exchange, consultation, and negotiation. Furthermore, the state has an obligation to refrain from unilateral action when there is a possibility of causing irrevocable damage to the interests of the other states.

The National Library of Korea is administering a legal deposit system for the printedpublications. Whereas, OASIS(Online Archiving & Searching Internet Sources) has to design a system to collect, manage and preserve web sites and web resources for Web Archiving. The purpose of this study is to develop a digital deposit process for digital resources. As a result, this study defines the subjects and objects for digital deposits, and describes the definitions and the functions according to digital deposit steps. Also, this study designs the data flow diagram and proposes the function definitions on unit works and the structure for the flow of information.

The Preferred Right that recognized in Housing Lease Protection Act Article 8 Paragraph 1 is a legal security right. The case of a small tenant whose security deposit is less than a specific sum of money to lease housing, he can get preferential payment about his a specific sum of money of security deposit in an auction procedure. Like this the Preferred Right can protect the homeless commoner also it ignores the existing legal system. But the Preferred Right has the right function that contribute to stability of homeless people's housing, on the other hand, it has the adverse function that damages to several interested parties in an auction procedure by using legal preferential protection. So, about these problems, the improvement way will propose in this study.

This study aimed to propose considerations for attributes and their standardization strategies during the data collection process for electronic publications by domestic distributors for the National Library of Korea. The research identified a total of 21 essential and optional attributes based on a survey and a Focused Group Interview (FGI) with the staff responsible for legal deposit and acquisition tasks at the National Library of Korea. Additional attributes were found necessary during the data quality verification process, leading to the specification of essential and optional attributes for various types of materials, including eBooks, audiobooks, webtoons, and web novels. The standardization of attribute values, essential for enhancing the identifiability and management efficiency of electronic publications, included adherence to ISO 8601 rules for dates and times, clear designation of limited-range attribute values such as file format and adult content, and detailed description of information related to titles. Furthermore, the study highlighted the need for establishing standardized metadata requirements and continuous data quality management and monitoring systems.

The purpose of the study was to analyze the feasibility of the alluvial deposit deposited on upper terrace in Han River as a substitute for conventional plant soil. For this purpose, the soil characteristics were analyzed, and germination and growth rate of pansy and marigold for 75 days were investigated. Soil contamination level of all the samples, except mineral oil, was analysed under the legal contamination level, while some mineral oil was detected in almost samples at 2.0~32mg/kg. The measures of the soil texture (sandy loam or loam), organic matter (2.5~5.5%), available phosphate (22~98mg/kg), exchangeable cation of K (0.5~1.1cmol/kg), Ca (0.9~9.6cmol/kg), Mg (0.1~0.7cmol/kg), Na (0.7~3.1cmol/kg), CEC (3.1~24.3cmol/kg) were identified as not worse than those of conventional planting soil. But the pH (5.1~5.3) was detected slightly lower than the range (5.5~6.9) of average domestic field soil. The germination rate of pansy in alluvial deposit was lower than that of fertile field or paddy field soil, while the growth rate of pansy for 75 days in alluvial deposit was as good as that of the compared fertile soils. But the germination rate and growth rate of marigold in alluvial deposit were much poorer than those of marigold in compared fertile soils. Consequently, the feasibility of alluvial deposit as a substitute for planting soil was evaluated to be high.

A marketing platform based on the legal deposit system was designed. It is an e-book distribution platform that systematically binds library networks nationwide by linking with the National Library's deposit system to complete the existing paper that the library should become a publishing platform. The purpose is to bundle e-books into a distribution space and naturally assemble readers to serve as virtual platforms for domestic publishers, authors, bookstores, and platforms running various publishing / subscribing services. The premise is not a sale of e-books, but a rental concept, but the platform is valid regardless. In addition, the platform takes the form of social cooperatives to represent the interests of all members involved in publishing services. The lead-based distribution platform is the most ideal business model to compromise with reality. Conceptually, the service of the publishing content-related industry is a model in which all content is supplied from the lead-bone system, which is a collaborative space, and technically, the central e-book database controls the flow of all content, but the publishing content-related industry takes the form of controlling its flow through virtual.

In domestic university libraries, the difference between the knowledge resource collection activities on campus is depending on the size of the university, and their collection is concentrated on some types of digital resources. In recent years, the main universities in developed countries has developed actively in social openness and share activities of their knowledge resources, through the OA-based institutional repository, for the purpose of image improvement and competitiveness as a knowledge production base. This study examined ways to improve the relevant regulations in order to effectively collect and systematically manage the knowledge resources from graduate school, research institutes, center for teaching and learning, e-learning center, museum, press, a variety of campus organizations, so as to enhance the role of the library as the right manager of knowledge resources on campus. To this end, this study, considering the improvement of relevant regulations, investigates the operating situation of the library regulations of 176 universities and suggests necessary improvement methods in order to facilitate the digital legal deposit and expand its scope.
