Objective: Iris pattern recognition system is well developed and practiced in human, however, there is a scarcity of information on application of iris recognition system in animals at the field conditions where the major challenge is to capture a high-quality iris image from a constantly moving non-cooperative animal even when restrained properly. The aim of the study was to validate and identify Black Bengal goat biometrically to improve animal management in its traceability system. Methods: Forty-nine healthy, disease free, 3 months±6 days old female Black Bengal goats were randomly selected at the farmer's field. Eye images were captured from the left eye of an individual goat at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of age using a specialized camera made for human iris scanning. iGoat software was used for matching the same individual goats at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of ages. Resnet152V2 deep learning algorithm was further applied on same image sets to predict matching percentages using only captured eye images without extracting their iris features. Results: The matching threshold computed within and between goats was 55%. The accuracies of template matching of goats at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of ages were recorded as 81.63%, 90.24%, 44.44%, and 16.66%, respectively. As the accuracies of matching the goats at 9 and 12 months of ages were low and below the minimum threshold matching percentage, this process of iris pattern matching was not acceptable. The validation accuracies of resnet152V2 deep learning model were found 82.49%, 92.68%, 77.17%, and 87.76% for identification of goat at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of ages, respectively after training the model. Conclusion: This study strongly supported that deep learning method using eye images could be used as a signature for biometric identification of an individual goat.

This study introduces driving pattern analysis and change detection methods using smartphone sensors, based on contrastive learning. These methods characterize driving patterns without labeled data, allowing accurate classification with minimal labeling. In addition, they are robust to domain changes, such as different vehicle types. The study also examined the applicability of these methods to smartphones by comparing them with six lightweight deep-learning models. This comparison supported the development of smartphone-based driving pattern analysis and assistance systems, utilizing smartphone sensors and contrastive learning to enhance driving safety and efficiency while reducing the need for extensive labeled data. This research offers a promising avenue for addressing contemporary transportation challenges and advancing intelligent transportation systems.

TSC means classifying time series data based on pattern. Time series data is quite common data type and it has high potential in many fields, so data mining and machine learning have paid attention for long time. In traditional approach, distance and dictionary based methods are quite popular. but due to time scale and random noise problems, it has clear limitation. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to deal with these problems with CNN and data mutation. CNN is regarded as proven neural network model in image recognition, and could be applied to time series pattern recognition by extracting pattern. Data mutation is a way to generate mutated data with different methods to make CNN more robust and solid. The proposed method shows better performance than traditional approach.
Voice pattern recognition technology to solve the problems of the existing problems and common issues that you may have in language learning content analysis. This is the first problem of language-learning content, online learning posture. Game open another web page through the lesson, but the concentration of the students fell. Have not been able to determine the second issue according Speaking has made the learning process actually reads. Third got a problem with the mechanical process by a learning management system, as well by the teacher in the evaluation of students and students who are learning progress between the difference in the two. Finally, the biggest problem, while maintaining their existing content made to be able to solve the above problem. Speaking learning dedicated learning programs under this background, voice pattern recognition technology learning process for speech recognition and voice recognition capabilities for learning itself has been used in the recognition process the data of the learner's utterance as an audio file of the desired change to a transfer to a specific location of the server or SQL server may be easily inserted into any system or program, any and all applicable content that has already been created without damaging the entire component because the new features were available. Contributed to this paper, active participation in class more interactive teaching methods to change.

The pattern recognition methods of chemometrics have been applied to multivariate data, for which ninety four Korean ancient glass pieces have been determined for 12 elements by neutron activation analysis. For the purpose, principal component analysis and non-linear mapping have been used as the unsupervised learning methods. As the result, the glass samples have been classified into 6 classes. The SIMCA (statistical isolinear multiple component analysis), adopted as a supervised learning method, has been applied to the 6 training set and the test set. The results of the 6 training set were in accord with the results by principal component analysis and non-linear mapping. For test set, 17 of 33 samples were each allocated to one of the 6 training set.

Text detection has been a popular research topic in the field of computer vision. It is difficult for prevalent text detection algorithms to avoid the dependence on datasets. To overcome this problem, we proposed a novel unsupervised text detection algorithm inspired by bootstrap learning. Firstly, the text candidate in a novel form of superpixel is proposed to improve the text recall rate by image segmentation. Secondly, we propose a unique text sample selection model (TSSM) to extract text samples from the current image and eliminate database dependency. Specifically, to improve the precision of samples, we combine maximally stable extremal regions (MSERs) and the saliency map to generate sample reference maps with a double threshold scheme. Finally, a multiple kernel boosting method is developed to generate a strong text classifier by combining multiple single kernel SVMs based on the samples selected from TSSM. Experimental results on standard datasets demonstrate that our text detection method is robust to complex backgrounds and multilingual text and shows stable performance on different standard datasets.

As deep learning technology in natural language and visual processing has rapidly developed, collaborative filtering-based recommendation systems using deep learning technology are being actively introduced in the recommendation field. In this study, OCF-GAN, a hybrid collaborative filtering model using GAN, was proposed to solve the one-class and cold-start problems, and its usefulness was verified through performance evaluation. OCF-GAN based on conditional GAN consists of a generator that generates a pattern similar to the actual user preference pattern and a discriminator that tries to distinguish the actual preference pattern from the generated preference pattern. When the training is completed, user preference vectors are generated based on the actual distribution of preferred items. In addition, the cold-start problem was solved by using a hybrid collaborative filtering recommendation method that additionally utilizes user and item profiles. As a result of the performance evaluation, it was found that the performance of the OCF-GAN with additional information was superior in all indicators of the Top 5 and Top 20 recommendations compared to the existing GAN-based recommender. This phenomenon was more clearly revealed in experiments with cold-start users and items.
Purpose: Human brain was lateralized to dominant or non-dominant hemisphere, and could be reorganized by the processing of the motor learning. We reported four cases which showed the changes of the cortical activation patterns resulting from two weeks of training with the serial reaction time task. Methods: Four right-handed healthy subjects were recruited, who was equally divided to two training conditions (right hand training or left hand training). They were assigned to train the serial reaction time task for two weeks, which should press the corresponding four colored buttons as fast as accurately as possible when visual stimulus was presented. Before and after two weeks of training, reaction time and function magnetic resonance image (fMRI) was acquired during the performance of the same serial reaction time task as the training. Results: The reaction time was significantly decreased in all of subjects after training. Our fMRI result showed that widespread bilateral activation at the pre scanning was shifted toward the focused activation on the contralateral hemisphere with progressive motor learning. However, the bilateral activation was still remained during the performance of the non-dominant hand. Conclusion: These findings showed that the repetitive practice of the serial reaction time task led to increase the movement speed and accuracy, as described by motor learning. Such motor learning induced to change the cortical activation pattern. And, the changed pattern of the cortical activation resulting from motor learning was different each other in accordance with the hand dominance.

In this paper, we propose a new unsupervised learning network and competitive learning algorithm for pattern classification. The proposed network is based on relative similarity, which is similarity measure between input data and cluster group. So, the proposed network and algorithm is called relative similarity network(RSN) and learning algorithm. According to definition of similarity and learning rule, structure of RSN is designed and pseudo code of the algorithm is described. In general pattern classification, RSN, in spite of deletion of learning rate, resulted in the identical performance with those of WTA, and SOM. While, in the patterns with cluster groups of unclear boundary, or patterns with different density and various size of cluster groups, RSN produced more effective classification than those of other networks.

As smart mobile devices having touchscreens are growingly deployed, a pattern lock system, which is one of the graphical password systems, has become a major authentication mechanism. However, a user's unlocking behaviour leaves smudges on a touchscreen and they are vulnerable to the so-called smudge attacks. Smudges can help an adversary guess a secret pattern correctly. Several advanced pattern lock systems, such as TinyLock, have been developed to resist the smudge attacks. In this paper, we study an automated smudge attack that employs machine learning techniques and its effectiveness in comparison to the human-only smudge attacks. We also compare Android pattern lock and TinyLock schemes in terms of security. Our study shows that the automated smudge attacks are significantly advanced to the human-only attacks with regard to a success ratio, and though the TinyLock system is more secure than the Android pattern lock system.
