In this study of mathematics anxiety, mathematical learning style, and grade in school, 1,264 elementary students completed the Mathematics Anxiety Scale(Lee, 2005) and the Mathematical Learning Style Scale(Yang & Whang, 2005) for elementary school students. Analysis of their responses showed that anxiety about mathematics increased with grade in school. Among sub-factors of mathematics anxiety, the subject itself, learners' attitude, and learning environment increased the anxiety of upper grade students. Motivation, initiative, and regulation styles of learning mathematics were found to be important factors in the mathematics anxiety of elementary school students.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the degree of anxiety factors for learning mathematics and look into the reason of anxiety of mathematics and show the method of eliminating negative and anxious factors in elementary school, secondary school and high school. To have learner take an interest in learning mathematics, develop the positive attitude about learning mathematics and maximize the effect of learning of mathematics, three kinds of hypotheses are established as follows: 1. There would be difference in anxiety factor of learning mathematics according to elementary school, secondary school and high school. 2. There would be difference in anxiety factor of learning mathematics according to sex. 3. There be difference in anxiety factor of learning mathematics according to the level of achievement. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Hypotheses I was testified. The anxiety factor between mathematics learning and mathematics teacher was significant difference according to elementary school, secondary school and high school. 2. Hypotheses II was testified. The result of hypotheses II was significant difference only in high school. The anxiety factor of mathematics teacher was significant difference according to boy student and girl student. 3. Hypotheses III was testified. The anxiety factor of mathematics, teacher and test was significant difference only in elementary school and high school.
In this paper, we tried to find out what makes the students feel anxious to mathematics and the ways to decrease their anxiety by comparing two learning types, self-directed-learning and learning in a body, by means of continuous observation and interviews. To perform this study, two classes of self-directed-learning and other two classes of learning-in a body were chosen from the third year-students in Wando Middle School in Chollanamdo. In this study, we obtained the following results: 1. In high group in math grade, students in self-directed-learning are less anxious than students in learning-in a body. 2. In average group in math grade, students in self-directed-learning are much more anxious than students in learning-in a body. 3. In low group in math grade, both students in self-directed-learning and students in teaming-in a body feel anxious about math and there is no difference between them. 4. Anxiety about math hove positive influence on high group in math grade. 5. Anxiety about math have negative influence on average and low groups in math grade. Especially, low group students had no interests about mathematics because of their math anxiety. We observed that some students got over the math anxiety to some meaningful extent by means of interviews or appropriate advices, and became to have confidence and interests in mathematics.
This study examined the possibility of clustering using 5-year-old children's basic learning ability and mothers' achievement expectation anxiety, and compared the impact of the children's self-regulation ability and mothers' learning involvement for each cluster. The subjects were 239 children (120 boys & 119 girls) aged 5 and attending 9 kindergartens in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon, and also their mothers. The collected data were analyzed using non-hierarchical (K-means) cluster analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The findings of this study were as follows. First, the mother-child pairs were classified into four clusters of 'high learning ability-high expectation anxiety', 'high learning ability-low expectation anxiety', 'low learning ability-low expectation anxiety', or 'low learning ability-high expectation anxiety'group. Second, the level of child's self-monitoring, self-control, and mother's respect and love were significantly higher in the 'high learning ability-low expectations anxiety' group than the 'low learning ability-high expectation anxiety' group. Also, pressure for academic achievement was higher in the 'high learning ability-high expectation anxiety' group than the 'low learning ability-low expectations anxiety' group. Third, child's self-monitoring, mother's pressure for academic achievement, home learning activities, and respect/love for child predicted the clustering using children's basic learning ability and mothers' achievement expectation anxiety.

Contemporary societal and environmental transformations coincide with the emergence of novel mental health challenges. anxiety disorder, a chronic and highly debilitating illness, presents with diverse clinical manifestations. Epidemiological investigations indicate a global prevalence of 5%, with an additional 10% exhibiting subclinical symptoms. Notably, 9% of adolescents demonstrate clinical features. Untreated, anxiety disorder exerts profound detrimental effects on individuals, families, and the broader community. Therefore, it is very meaningful to predict anxiety disorder through machine learning algorithm analysis model. The main research content of this paper is the analysis of the prediction model of anxiety disorder by machine learning algorithms. The research purpose of machine learning algorithms is to use computers to simulate human learning activities. It is a method to locate existing knowledge, acquire new knowledge, continuously improve performance, and achieve self-improvement by learning computers. This article analyzes the relevant theories and characteristics of machine learning algorithms and integrates them into anxiety disorder prediction analysis. The final results of the study show that the AUC of the artificial neural network model is the largest, reaching 0.8255, indicating that it is better than the other two models in prediction accuracy. In terms of running time, the time of the three models is less than 1 second, which is within the acceptable range.
The benefits of teaching learning materials to others have been shown on learning achievement. Anxiety is one of the obstacles in learning and it has been shown that math anxiety is strongly associated with math achievement. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate whether teaching others benefits math anxiety when university students learn statistics. 59 students who enrolled in statistics class participated and 30 students performed group assignment of teaching peer in a group and 29 students did not. Other than group assignments, the instructor, lectures, assignment of solving the problems, and exams were all the same. The results showed that the math anxiety of students who did group assignments of teaching was decreased at the end the semester. Increased math anxiety yielded negative attitudes toward learning statistics, resulting in poor learning performance. Furthermore, the relationship between math anxiety and the attitudes toward leaning statistics was moderated by teaching others. The results suggest that teaching others has an effect on reducing math anxiety and thus, possibly yield persistent learning gains.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors in the clinical learning environment that affect clinical practice stress and anxiety in nursing students. Methods: Participants were 210 senior nursing students from two universities who had completed their clinical experience. Data were collected from self-report questionnaires and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 Program. Results: The mean scores for the clinical learning environment, the clinical practice stress, and anxiety were $3.16{\pm}0.68$, $2.98{\pm}0.66$, and $43.74{\pm}10.18$ points, respectively. The regression analysis showed that the clinical learning environment contributed to 13% of the stress and 20% of the anxiety in the nursing students with the conditions controlled for general characteristics, department satisfaction and social support. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the clinical learning environment should be carefully assessed to reduce nursing students' stress and anxiety from clinical practice. Therefore, collaboration between nursing universities and teaching hospitals is necessary to optimize clinical learning environment.
In this study, the effects of the small group collaborative learning on students' achievement, the retention of the achievement, communication anxiety, and science learning motivation were investigated. The aptitude-treatment interaction between the level of students' self-directed learning ability and the intervention was also examined. Two classes (38 students) from an elementary school were respectively assigned to a control group and a treatment group. A self-directed learning ability test, a communication anxiety test, and a science learning motivation test were administered as pretests. The intervention lasted for 8 class periods. After instruction, an achievement test, the communication anxiety test, and the science learning motivation test were administered. An achievement retention test were also administered after four weeks. The results indicated that there were significant treatmentaptitude interaction effects in the achievement test scores and the achievement retention test scores. In the communication anxiety and the science learning motivation, however, any significant difference was not found between the scores of the treatment group and the control group. Educational implications are discussed.
This study, in order to contribute to improvement of the affective domain for mathematics which is one of the largest issues of mathematics education, examined the background variables influencing mathematics anxiety of middle/high school students. As the result, the middle school students showed a greater level of anxiety than the high school students did, and especially the anxiety level according to environment factor and learning strategy factor was high. Also, male students showed overall a greater mathematics anxiety than female students did, and both group of students showed a higher anxiety level according to environment factor and learning strategy factor. Besides, the greater the time spent on private education was, the higher the mathematics anxiety level, and in test/performance factor, the group with low self-initiated learning time showed a higher level of mathematics anxiety compared to other two groups. Among four subfactors of mathematics anxiety test, the students overall scored lowest in anxiety for test/performance factor, and highest in environment factor.

It is often observed that Korean migrant students overseas experience various kinds of anxieties learning English as a second language although they are in an English-speaking country like New Zealand. The context of learning English as a second language is explored by examining language anxieties experienced by recent Korean migrant students in New Zealand. 177 students were surveyed using questionnaires asking their anxieties over various contexts of English learning processes. The three stages of language anxiety of Input, Processing, and Output showed that there were some degrees of anxiety among the students at each stage depending on their ages, age at migration, and duration of residence, in particular. Students tended to experience more language anxiety in school than outside the school. It was also clear that students were experiencing more anxieties with English than with Korean in the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Writing was commonly found in English and Korean to be the most frequent source of anxiety among the four language skills. Some implications from the results are suggested for parents, teachers, and students.
