  • Providing appropriate interactions between learner and e- Learning system is an essential factor of a successful e-Learning system. Although many interaction functions are employed in multimedia Web-based Instruction content, learner experience a lack of similar feedbacks from educators in real- time due to the limitation of Human-Computer Interaction techniques. In this paper, an emotion recognition system via learner facial expressions has been developed and applied to a tutoring system. As human educators do, the system observes learners' emotions from facial expressions and provides any or all pertinent feedback. And various feedbacks can bring to motivations and get rid of isolation from e-Learning environments by oneself. The test results showed that this system may provide significant improvement in terms of interesting and educational achievement.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of participation environmental UCC(User Created Content) making program on elementary school students' environmental literacy. Through the questionnaires and the analysis of students' outcomes, the effects of environmental literacy in both quality and quantity was verified. By applying computer programs to make environmental UCC to elementary students, helped them increase their environmental knowledge, and got them to recognize the importance of the environment that surrounds them. Students can find a solution to solve environmental problem from their interaction between the environment and themselves. It could also improve students' ability to think positively. From this research, I hope we require to develop possible programs for various kinds of educational activities based on UCC ones, since we already verified the effects of computer programs to make environmental UCC. The programs to make environmental UCC with learners participated is a kind of good model to reflect the learner's need who is a educational user. Or it could be teaching materials to help meet learner's viewpoint. It can also offer learner-oriented and creative learning and which teachers and learners work together to make a good result and that they make a new wave, instead of being teacher-oriented, which teachers force learners to do something. We can have a feeling of achievement through this and we can expect to enhance both our professional ability as a environmental teacher and the quality of lesson.

  • Digilog book using augmented reality is a form that augmented reality is implemented by illuminating the camera embedded in the mobile image on the page registered as an image marker after downloading the application, which shows a fragmentary limitation in the content implementation method. Therefore, in this study, we proposed a pop-up multi-tracking method that enables two-way interaction in a digit log book using augmented reality technology. Through this, we commissioned an authorized agency to test the technical differentiation of augmented reality content for two prototypes of existing book-type Digilog Book and Pop-up-type Digilog Book. A test report was issued. The pop-up type digit log book suggested in this study enables the user to implement the interactive contents according to the user's action (movement). This can induce the interaction between the virtual image and the printed picture book and give the learner an interest and immersion, so that it is possible to express the interaction of the digital log book.

  • Satisfactory e-learning experience of working part-time adult students is a truly dynamic and multidimensional process that reflects learning needs and abilities. Special attention is given to understanding the role of student-to-faculty interaction, student-to-student interaction, e-learning content and course structure, flow, periodic off-line class meetings and synchronous Q&A sessions. Survey questions were developed and distributed to adult graduate students. Some of them were asked to complete the questions with the most interesting subjects or classes in their mind, and others with the most difficult subjects in their mind. The structural model for each group was tested. The values of path coefficients corresponding to the group with the difficult subjects turn out to be higher for the following paths; a) interaction among professors and students and satisfaction, b) contents quality and flow, c) Q&A and interaction among professors and students, d) Q&A and interaction among students. For the other paths such as interaction among students and satisfaction, contents structure and flow, the coefficient values corresponding to the group with the interesting subjects are higher. Some implications for e-learning design were provided as well.

  • This study was performed to obtain basic data in relation to instructional design and teaching strategy according to instructional modes. For the purpose of this study, participants evaluated the qualities of the instructions they attended and the results of the evaluation were compared according to 4 instructional modes(content class, online real-time class, online and face-to-face mixed class, and face-to-face class). As a result of the study, there were differences in the evaluation regarding the appropriateness of the course according to instructional modes. That is, satisfaction with lecture progress was lower in the online real-time classes than in content classes, mixed classes, and face-to-face classes. As a result of the descriptive lecture evaluation analysis, in the content class type, students answered that they were satisfied with the easily understandable and interesting explanations. In the case of the online real-time classes, it was found that they were satisfied with thorough preparation and effective communication. In the mixed class type, they said they were satisfied with the systematic class and passionate lecture, and in the face-to-face classes, the pleasure of interaction and the enthusiasm of the instructor were identified as the main reasons for satisfaction. It was analyzed that the satisfaction characteristic commonly derived from the four class types was the enthusiasm of the instructor. The results of this study are expected to provide implications for instructional design and teaching strategy establishment according to each instructional mode.

  • It is well-known that inducing learner's spontaneous participation and teacher-student interaction are highly efficient way of teaching and learning. The traditional one-sided, teacher-centered lecture seemed to be inefficient systematically to support the interaction in classroom. Recently, the government was planning to provide the students with Tablet as a part of the informatization project, but it ended up providing only the content of the lecture, not allowing the interaction to occur in classroom. In this paper, we propose a system which aims to support interaction between a teacher and students by utilizing the Web server and Tablet.
