  • 1. Lwang은 해발 1,200m 정도의 산악지역으로 일교차가 크고 햇볕의 양이 많은 지역으로 토양산도는 차재배에 이상적인 pH(H2O)가 평균 5.60이다. 2. pH(KCL) 4.26으로 이상적이다. 그러나 두 pH 차이가 1.34으로 심한 양분 부족 현상을 보이며 토양 EC가 0.05 mS/cm로 심각한 토양 수탈현상을 보이고 있다. 3. 토양의 산화환원전위(ORP)는 393mV로 아주 이상적인 토양을 보이고 있다. 토양산도와 함께 산화환원전위(ORP)는 좋은 유기농 차를 만드는데 큰 역할을 하고 있다. 4. 차는 연중 양분(養分)을 흡수하고 있는데, 측정 결과는 전 항목에서 심한 양분의 부족현상을 보여 향후 유기물의 투입이 요구되고 있다.

  • 본 연구는 차먼지응애의 천적인 오이이리응애의 생물적 방제효과를 조사하였다. 차먼지응애는 상위 엽을 가해하다가 밀도가 높아짐에 따라 먹이조건이 나빠지기 때문에 새로운 서식처를 찾아 이동하였다. 오이이리응애와 차먼지응애의 밀도변동은 먹이충인 차먼지응애의 이동에 따라 천적인 오이이리응애의 서식지가 같아졌다. 차먼지응애에 대해 천적인 오이이리응애의 포식량은 15, 20, 25 및 $30^{\circ}C$에서 각각 8.8, 15.2, 27.0 및 30.3마리를 포식하였다. $25^{\circ}C$ 조건하에서 부화유충은 0.5마리, 전약충은 1.6마리, 후약충은 5.2마리, 수컷 성충은 3.8마리, 암컷 성충은 27.0마리의 차먼지응애 성충을 포식하였다. 차먼지응애 성충에 대한 오이이리응애 성충의 기능반응은 차먼지응애의 밀도가 증가함에 따라 포식량은 점차 증가하였으나 그의 포식율은 감소하여 Holling의 기능반응곡선 제II형과 일치하였다. 천적인 오이이리응애와 먹이충인 차먼지응애 접종비율이 고추에서 1:40일 경우 밀도억제효과가 98% 이상으로 가장 효과적이었다.

조조가온기간이 시설재배 오이의 생육과 수량 및 난방부하에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Additional Early-Morning Heating Periods on the Growth and Yield of Cucumber and Heating Load)

  • 본 연구는 조조가온기간이 시설오이의 생육과 수량 및 난방부하에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자, 일출전에 난방온도를 올려서 $12^{\circ}C$에서 $16^{\circ}C$로 올려서 가온하는 기간을 2시간, 1시간 및 0시간을 비교하였다. 보온커텐을 열기 직전$(08:50\~09:00)$의 엽온은 조조가온을 하지 않는 것에 비해 1시간 가온이 $3.3^{\circ}C$, 2시간 가온이 $4.1^{\circ}C$각각 높았다. 오이 잎의 광합성, 기공전도도 및 증산량은 2시간 조조가온이 가장 좋았으나 1시간 가온과의 차이가 근소하였고 조조가온을 하지 않은 것은 현저히 감소하였다. 오이 잎의 무기성분함량은 유의적 차이는 없었으나 2시간, 1시간, 0시간 순으로 높은 경향이었다. 정식 이후의 초기생육은 1시간과 2시간 가온이 비슷하게 빨랐으나 조조가온을 하지 않는 것은 현저히 저조하였다. 과실 수량은 조조가온을 하지 않는 것에 비해 1시간 가온이 $11\%$, 2시간 가온이 $15\%$ 각각 증가되었다. 연료소모량은 조조가온하지 않는 것에 비해 1시간 가온이 $12\%$, 2시간 가온이 $22\%$ 각각 많았다. 생산물의 증수량과 연료소모량을 감안할 때 조조 가온하지 않는 것에 비해 가온한 것이 경영상 유리하였다.

  • 카드늄에 의해 오염된 토양을 접하는 것은 급격한 산업발달에 의해 아시아에서는 흔한 일이다. 그래서 시민과 관련 당국은 식량작물 소비에 따른 카드늄노출의 위험성에대한 관심을 가지고 있다. 본 개관에서는 전세계 카드늄 소화기관내 흡입과 식품에 근거한 식물에 포함된 카드늄농도에 대한 최근 자료가 모두 제시 되었다. 일반적으로 일용필수품에 근거한 주요 식물에 존재하는 카드늄의 농도는 생체중으로 비교 시 kg 당 0.05mg를 거의 초과하지 않으며 곡류, 두류, 채소, 구근류, 과채류 순으로 감소하였다.

  • The use of local product foods and fresh-cut products, the dietitian's recognition, the required items and the quality for school foodservice was investigated to increase the consumption of high-quality agricultural products. Data from 578 elementary schools, 228 middle schools and 116 high schools were collected by school foodservice personnels in each regional Education Administration in Gyeong-gi province. The first criteria of buying food materials was reliability/safety for all school foodservice. The second criteria were the origin of the product and freshness/ripeness for elementary and middle schools and high school, respectively. The most important consideration for selecting a supplier was the quality of the material. The appearance/status of the food was the first factor for buying food materials. The origin and the seasonality were very important for buying farm products. Dietitians in Gyeong-gi province recognized the local products, and used them weekly. The advantages of using local products were the quick supply, freshness and safety. On the other hand, the disadvantages were the lack of information and the uncertainty of supply. Sixty eight percent of the subjects had experienced the high-quality agricultural products in school meals, but the frequency was low. The main reasons for not servicing high-quality agricultural products were the high cost and the lack of trust on the quality. Among fresh-cut products, seasonings and root vegetables were purchased most frequently, but leaf vegetables was 5.7% only. The purchase of fresh-cut products was not frequent, but usually satisfied. The advantages of fresh-cut products were the reduced workload and waste, but the reason for not using them were poor hygiene and the high price. The diverse supply system and the promotion of the local product foods would be necessary since the most food materials were purchased through suppliers. In addition, the problems related to the high cost and distrust should be resolved to expand the consumption of the high-quality agricultural products and the fresh-cut vegetables. The institutions for certifying the quality should be needed to increase the confidence of these products.

저속 네트워크 환경에서 데이터 변화 탐지를 위해 타임스탬프 트리를 이용하는 B2B 시스템 구축 (Building B2B system using timestamp tree for data change detection in low speed network environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 저속 네트워크 사용자를 지원하기 위해 기존의 웹 기반 B2B 시스템을 확장하였다. 클라이언트와 서버 사이에 공유된 데이터의 일관성을 보장하기 위해 타임스탬프 트리를 이용한 데이터 변화 탐지 방법을 제안하고, 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방법의 성능을 분석하였다. 타인스탬프 트리의 단말 노드들이 일양 분포로 변경되는 최악의 조건에서, 시뮬레이션 결과는 데이터 갱신율이 $15\%$ 이하일 때 제안된 방법이 순차 탐지보다 효율적임을 보였다. A사의 웹 기반 건설 MRO B2B 시스템을 2004년 4월부터 2004년 8월까지 관찰한 결과에 따르면, 월 평균 데이터 갱신율은 $7\%$ 이하였다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 실질적으로 데이터 변화 탐지 성능을 향상시켰다. 또한 제안된 방법은 서버가 클라이언트들이 복제한 데이터를 저장할 필요가 없기 때문에 서버의 저장 공간 사용이 줄었다.

Papaya: A gifted nutraceutical plant - a critical review of recent human health research

  • The plant kingdom is considered to be a repository of modern medicine, attributable to their rich source of bio-active molecules and secondary metabolites. It is indeed the Nutraceuticals that enhance immunity and ensure a healthier life because of their prophylactic and therapeutic values. Over centuries, papaya [Caricaceae; (Carica papaya Linn.)] is a renowned nutritious and medicinal plant. Each part of the papaya like root, stem, leaf, flower, fruit, seed, rinds, and latex has its own nutraceutical properties. It serves as food, cooking aid, and Ethnomedicine to prevent and treat wide-range of diseases and disorders. It has also been traditionally used as appetite enhancer, meat tenderizer, purgative, medicinal acne, abortifacient and vermifuge. Over decades, a series of scientific attempts were made to authenticate the nutraceutical properties of papaya. These studies validated that the papaya has antiplasmodial, antitrichochramal, antitrichomonal, antidengue, and anti-cancer activities. They have also exhibited that papaya possesses antiseptic, antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and contraceptive features, and it helps in the management of sickle-cell anaemia, HIV, heart diseases and digestional disorders too. Nevertheless, the responsible bio-active molecules and their mode of actions remain indistinct and imprecise, and this calls for further pharmacological and clinical research on them. Conclusively, papaya is one of the naturally gifted plants; though its nutraceutical properties as a food or as a quasi-drug are poorly understood or undervalued by people. Accordingly, this scrutiny, demand for instigation of public health awareness campaigns to promote papaya consumption, so that the society shall acquire optimal benefits of papaya and in turn prevent and alleviate various diseases and illness.

대두종자(大豆種子)의 대소(大小)가 초기생육(初期生育) 및 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effects of Seed Size on the Early Seedling Growth and Yield of Three Soybean(Glycine max. L.) Cultivars)

  • In order to find the effects of seed size on the early seedling growth and yield of soybean, three soybean cultivars in Korea were investigated. Seed size was classified into large and small according to the weight and planted in pots(1/5000a) and in the field. Three soybean cultivars respresenting large, medium and small grains were Hwangkeum-kong, Kwangkyo and Bangsa-kong respectively. These cultivars were planted on June 20, 1987. 1. The plant height, stem diameter, root length and leaf area index(LAI) of the seed with large size seemed larger than the seed with small size regardless of cultivars. 2. The fresh and dry weight were different depending upon the grain sizes. The large grain had heavier fresh and dry weight than the small grains. 3. The protein consumption rate of the cotyledon of Bangsa-kong with small grain size was faster than the Hwangkeum-kong with large grain size. 4. The stem length, stem diameter and number of main stem node of the seed with large size seemed larger than the seed with small size. Large grains of Hwangkeum-kong were the highest in the number of branch node and number of node. 5. The number of pods and grains per plant of Bangsa-kong with small grain size was larger than the Kwangkyo with large grain size. 6. The yield per 10a for Hwangkeum-kong, Hwangkyo and Bangsa-kong were 226.3kg, 193.0kg and 192.8kg, respectively and they were all statistically different. The yield increases of large grains over small grains in the Hwangkeum-kong, Kwangkyo, and Bangsa-kong were 7.4%, 8.0% and 9.2%, respectively.

질소 화합물이 담배연기성분 및 안전성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of nitrogen compounds on the chemical composition and biological activity of mainstream smoke)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of nitrogen compounds such as protein on the chemical composition and toxicity of cigarette mainstream smoke. BSA protein was treated into the tobacco leaf of original 2R4F cigarette at 1~4 % level. The studies were performed which included a bacterial mutagenicity assay and a mammalian cell cytotoxicity assay for total particulate matter(TPM), and glutathione(GSH) consumption assay for gas/vapor phase(GVP) and determination of smoke chemical constitute. Cigarettes treated with protein were observed dose-dependent increase in yield of volatiles, semi-volatiles and aromatic amines compared with control cigarette. However, carbonyl compounds such as acrolein was lower than that of control cigarette when calculated on an equal TPM basis. The cytotoxicity of TPM obtained from the protein-added cigarettes was not different from that of control cigarette. However, the mutagenicity of the TPM from protein-treated cigarettes(1~4 %) was up to 10-27 % higher than that of control. On the other hand, toxicity of GVP from protein-treated cigarette(4 %) was significantly decreased compared with control cigarette. An overall assessment of our data suggests that nitrogen compounds such as protein should be important for the chemical composition and biological activity of cigarette mainstream smoke.

신감미(新甘味) 자원식물(資源植物) Stevia의 개발(開發)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Development of Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni M.) as a New Sweetness)

  • The consumption of sugar in our diet increased so great that much U. S. dollars are spended to import sugar source from foreign contries. To replace a part of it we adopted mother plant and seeds of the well-known Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni M.) originated from south America, from the Agricultural Experimental Station of Hokkaido, Japan, in 1974. In order to determine the growth condition of Stevia in our climate and soil condition, the results of survey and determination were as follows: 1. Germination rate of Stevia was averaged 33.6% at 35 th day after seedling and the maximum germination period was between 5 and 20 days after seedling. 2. The seedling rate of Stevia was about 8%. 3. Establishment of roots of Stevia propagated by cutting method was above 90% but only S-1 strain showed lower rate., 75%. 4. S-2 strain showed the best growth rate that was about 160cm by plant height and it was decreased by the following order : S-4, S-3, S-1, S-6 and S-5 strains. 5. S-4 strain resulted in 45 branches that was the highest number among strains tested and S-2 strain was the next. 6. The content of sweetening compound of Stevia, stevioside, was 5.3% in S-1, S-2, S-5 and S-4 strains but S-3 and $S^*$-6 strains were relatively low content, 4.9%. From the above results we obtained Stevia could be propagated by cutting method and the growth conditions including plant height, number of branches and content of stevioside were relatively better in S-2 and S-4 strains that were differentiated by the shape of leaf.
