This study was done for the purpose of investigating nursing students' health promotion behavior and health status and analyzing the relationship between health promotion behavior and health status. The subjects for this study were 249 nursing students obtained by a convenience sampleing from two Junior Colleges Located in Kangwon-do. The instruments used for this study were health promotion behavior scale developed by the researcher and modified Cornell Medical Index developed by Brodman, Erdmann, Lorge, Wolff & Broadbent. Data were collected from November 21 to December 10, 1994 by means of questionaire. The data were analyzed through the SPSS program by use of descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The results of the study were as follows; 1) The subject's degree of health promotion behavior was about middle level 2) When the relationships between health promotion behavior and their general characteristics were explored, economic status, importance of health & perceived health status were revealed to have significant differences. 3) The subject's health status was at slightly high level, therefore viewed their health as slightly good. 4) When the relationships between health status and their general characteristics were explored, age and perceived health status were revealed to have significant differences. 5) In regard to the relationship between health promotion behavior and health status, psychological health status correlated positively with health promotion behavior (r=.193, p=0.002) ; physical health status correlated positively with psychological health status (r=0.493, p=0.000). But, physical health status did not show a significant correlation with health promotion behavior. In conclusion, it is important for late adolescents including nursing students to lay the foundation for chronic disease prevention by promoting and maintaining healthy lifestyles. Many of the leading causes of disease are preventable, through changes in lifestyle. The need to increase individual awareness of relationships between lifestyle and health and to enhance knowledge regarding the long-term effects of negative health behaviors, is an important nursing strategy for health promotion.

In 1999 Marmara and 2011 Van earthquakes in Turkey, majority of the existing buildings either sustained severe damage or collapsed. These buildings include masonry infill walls in both the interior and exterior R/C frames. The material of the masonry infill is the main variant, ranging from natural stones to bricks and blocks. It is demanding to design these buildings for satisfactory structural behavior. In general, masonry infill walls are considered by its weights not by interaction between walls and frames. In this study, R/C buildings with infill walls are considered in terms of structural behavior. Therefore, 5 and 8-story R/C buildings are regarded as the representative models in the analyses. The R/C representative buildings, both with and without infill walls were analyzed to determine the effects of structural behavior change. The differences in earthquake behavior of these representative buildings were investigated to determine the effects of infill walls leading structural capacity. First, pushover curves of the representative buildings were sketched. Aftermath, time history analyses were carried out to define the displacement demands. Finally, fragility analyses were performed. Throughout the fragility analyses, probabilistic seismic assessment for R/C building structures both with and without infill walls were provided. In this study, besides the deterministic assessment methodology, a probabilistic approach was followed to define structural effect of infill walls under seismic loads.
Unconfined compression test (UCT) is widely conducted in laboratories to evaluate the mechanical behavior of frozen soils. However, its results are sensitive to the initial conditions of sample creation by freezing as well as the end-surface conditions during loading of the specimen into the apparatus for testing. This work compared ice samples prepared by three-dimensional and one-dimensional freezing. The latter created more-homogenous ice samples containing fewer entrapped air bubbles or air nuclei, leading to relatively stable UCT results. Three end-surface conditions were compared for UCT on ice specimens made by one-dimensional freezing. Steel disc cap with embedded rubber was found most appropriate for UCT. Three frozen materials (ice, frozen sand, and frozen silt) showed different failure patterns, which were classified as brittle failure and ductile failure. Ice and frozen sand showed strain-softening, while frozen silt showed strain-hardening. Subsequent investigation considered the influence of fines content on the unconfined compression behavior of frozen soil mixtures with fines contents of 0-100%. The mixtures showed a brittle-to-ductile transition of failure patterns at 10%-20% fines content.

Objectives: College students experiences more stress than when they were in high school. The students in nursing college, experience a variety of stress related to clinical practices, the examination for registered nurse license etc. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that affect the health promotion behavior among the students in a nursing college based on SAT(Social Action Theory). Methods: The study was a cross-sectional design with a convenience sample of 427 students recruited from April to May in 2005. SAT was utilized for the theoretical framework of the study. The instruments used were Profile of Mood Stress, Life Stress Scale for college student, Social Adaptation Scale, Health Knowledge and Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile. Data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program. Results: The study showed that grades, moods, and satisfaction of relationship with friends, satisfaction with pocket money made up 29.0% of significant factors related to health promotion behavior among the college students in nursing. Conclusion: It suggests that the known factors need to be taken into consideration when developing the health promotion program for college students in nursing.
Employees' knowledge integration capabilities and innovative behavior are still of crucial importance in the effective knowledge management. Recently researchers and practitioners are interested in both the potential benefits of unlearning and the negative aspects of learning inertia. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among learning inertia, unlearning, knowledge integration capabilities(knowledge exploitation and knowledge exploration) and innovative behavior. The results of analysis show that learning inertia is employees' psychological obstacle factor affecting knowledge integration capabilities and unlearning, that unlearning of employees is a key factor affecting knowledge integration capabilities, and that knowledge integration capabilities are driving forces leading to innovative behaviors of employees. For theoretical and practical implications, the research presents the grounds for arguments that knowledge integration capabilities are employees' dynamic capabilities from the knowledge management perspective, that unlearning is a driving force of employees' positive behaviors, and that organizations trying to perform the dynamic knowledge management need to identify the causes of employees' psychological resistance to learning. Limitations arisen in the course of the research and suggestions for future research directions are also discussed.
It is important to understand the characteristics of material strength and fracture under the dynamic loading like as earthquakes to assure the integrity of welded structures. The characteristics of dynamic strength and fracture in structural steels and their welded joints should be evaluated based on the effects of the strain rate and the service temperature. It is difficult to predict or measure temperature rise history with the corresponding stress-strain behavior. In particular, material behaviors beyond the uniform elongation can not be precisely evaluated, though the behavior at large strain region after the maximum loading point is much important for the evaluation of fracture. In this paper, the coupling phenomena of temperature and stress-strain fields under the dynamic loading was simulated by using the finite element method. The modified rate-temperature parameter was defined by accounting for the effect of temperature rise under the dynamic deformation, and it was applied to the fully-coupled analysis between heat conduction and thermal elastic-plastic behavior. Temperature rise and stress-strain behavior including complicated phenomena were studies after the maximum loading point in structural steels and their undermatched joints and compared with the measured values.

Electrorheological fluids(ERFs) show a rapid and reversible increase in apparent viscosity by applied electric field. It is called the electrorheological effect (ER effect). The reason for ER effect is the induction of an electric dipole in each particle, leading to the formation of clusters in the direction of the field, which resist fluid flow. Generally, the behavior of ER fluids has been modeled on those of Bingham fluids. But there are some differences between Bingham fluids and ER fluids. The visualization of ER fliuds are presented and ER effects by the forming, growing and breaking of clusters are discussed. In the low shear rate area, the pressure drop is measured by a pressure sensor and the formation of ER particles is visualized by video camera. The reason for the nonlinear behavior of ER fluids at low shear rate is explained through results of visualization. As result, the behavior of ER fluids is nonlinear at low shear rate with overshoot area because it is different to from the clusters according to the strength of electric field. The gap of electrodes becomes narrow because of the cluster layer occurrence near to electrodes in any conditions.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of price-attitude toward apparel products on shopping values and consumption behavior. The study was carried out in Deagu and Kyungbook area. Applying the convenience sampling, total 326 questionnaire were collected from university students who were randomly selected as participants. This study used frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, regression analysis, and t-test for data analysis. The finding are as follows. Price-attitude toward apparel products was categorized into information leading, price dignity, price discount, list price orientation, quality value and using coupons. Shopping tendency factors were found as pursuit of pleasure, pursuit of sociality, and pursuit of economic feasibility. Consumption behavior factors were categorized into impulsive buying, ostentatious consumption, utilization of internet information, possession of material and brand trust. Price-attitude toward apparel products had a significant effect on shopping values and consumption behavior. University students seemed to consider the value of money to be very important as well as economic feasibility. They utilized information from the internet to buy products with good quality and showed high usage level of coupons. And, university students who buy at a least price tried to show dignity with expensive brand products and they consider those brands express self-confidence.
Purpose : Health Risk behaviors are a leading cause of preventable morbidity and mortality. Adolescents is a critical transitional period for establishing health behavior for healthy life. The purpose of this study was to describe the types and frequency of the health risk behaviors being performed by middle school students, examine the gender and grade differences of health risk behaviors, and identify the relationship among health risk behaviors. Methods : A total of 1952 early adolescents recruited from 7 middle schools in a district of urban setting completed questionnaires. Youth Risk Behavior Survey-Middle school questionnaires was used to identify the types of health risk behaviors among early adolescents. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and Chi-Square test using SAS program . Results : The results showed the frequency for most health risk behaviors and increased with advancing grade level. Males were more likely than females to behaviors related to smoking and violence, whereas females were more likely than males to have suicidal thoughts, be physical inactive and attempt to lose weight. Among health risk behaviors, the relationship of alcohol experience, smoking, and suicide was high. Conclusion : The findings identify a high risk target group among middle school adolescents and suggest that preventive intervention strategies should take into consideration the types with gender and grade, and provided the evidence that one of health risk behaviors may induce the other health risk behaviors.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to explore the psychological characteristics of users in mobile distribution channels (MDC) during mobile shopping. Research design, data and methodology: A conceptual framework based on shopping satisfaction theory was developed, leading to the proposal of a research model to examine the relationships between emotional control (EC), emotional practice (EP), prudential buying tendency (PBT), prudential buying urge (PBU), prudential buying behavior (PBB), and mobile shopping satisfaction (MSS) in MDC. To validate the research model, 125 survey responses were collected from mobile shoppers, and the relationships among EC, EP, PBT, PBU, PBB, and MSS were analyzed using the PLS structural equation model. Results: The empirical analysis revealed that EC did not have a significant impact on PBT, while EP had a significant effect on PBT. Moreover, PBT was found to influence both PBU and PBB, with PBU significantly affecting PBB. Finally, the study found that PBB significantly influences MSS. Conclusions: This study elucidates the relationships among EC, EP, PBT, PBU, PBB, and MSS, providing valuable insights for enhancing consumer shopping satisfaction in MDC. Practically, the study suggests various strategies for personalized and differentiated mobile customer management. Theoretically, it contributes to the field by stimulating further research on prudent purchasing behavior in mobile commerce.
