폐 Ni-Cd전지로부터 Ni의 분리 및 회수에 관한 연구 (Recovery and Separation of Nickel from the Spent Ni-Cd Batteries)

  • 니켈의 소비량은 계속 중가 추세에 있으며, 이와 함께 2차전지, 페라이트 페촉매는 사용 후의 폐기물이 연속적으로 발생하고 있다. 이들 중 본 연구에서는 Ni-Cd 2차전지 폐기물을 이용하여 니켈 회수를 수행하였다 폐전지의 구성은 니켈이 24wt% 칠이 30wt%, 카드뮴이 18.5wt%, 그리고 산소와 절연물 등으로 이루어져 있었다. 금속 회수의 방법은 침출 후 용매 추출법을 적용하였다. 염산침출에서는 1N 이상의 농도에서 카드뮴이 100% 침출되었고, 니켈은 20,000ppm이상 침출되어 70%이상의 침출율을 보였다. 산침출에서 얻은 침출액은 30vol%의 MSP-8로서 카드뮴만 추출하고 니켈은 잔류액으로 분리할 수 있었다. 그리고 암모늄염에 의한 침출에서는 $NH_4NO_3$에 의한 침출 시 니켈과 카드뮴만을 선택적으로 침출하는데 우수하였다. 질산암모늄에 의해 얻은 침출액 중의 Ni LIX계 추출제를 이용하여 100% 회수할 수 있었고, 잔류액 중의 카드뮴은 D2EHPA로 75% 이상 회수할 수 있었다.

LEACHING OF LEAD FROM DISCARDED NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS USING THE SCALE-UP TCLP AND OTHER STANDARD LEACHING TESTS

  • The proper management of discarded electronic devices (often called electronic-waste) is an emerging issue for solid waste professionals throughout the world because of the large growth of the waste stream, and the content of toxic metals in them, most notably heavy metals such as lead. Notebook computers are becoming one of the major components of discarded computer devices and will continue to increase in the waste stream in the future. While the computers hold great promise for recycling, a substantial amount of this waste is often disposed in municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills. The toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) is commonly used to simulate worse case leaching conditions where a potentially hazardous waste is assumed to be disposed along with municipal solid waste in a landfill with actively decomposing materials overlying an aquifer. The objective of this study was to examine leaching potential of lead from discarded notebook computers using the scale-up TCLP, other standard leaching tests such as California waste extraction test (Cal WET), and the synthetic precipitation leaching procedure (SPLP) and actual landfill leachates as leaching solution. The scale-up TCLP is a modified TCLP (where the device was disassembled and leached in or near entirety) to meet the intent of the TCLP. The results showed that the scale-up TCLP resulted in relatively high lead found in the leachate with an average of 23.3 mg/L. The average level was less than those by the standard TCLP and WET (37.0 mg/L and 86.0 mg/L, respectively), but much greater than those by the SPLP and the extractions with the landfill leachates (0.55 mg/L and 1.47 mg/L, respectively). The pH of the leaching solution and the ability of the organic acids in the TCLP and WET to complex with the lead were identified as major factors that controlled the amount of lead leached from notebook computers. Based on the results obtained by a number of leaching tests in this study, notebook computers may present a potential leaching risk to the environment and human health upon land disposal. However, further investigation is still needed to assess the true risk posed by the land disposal of discarded notebook computers.

마이크로웨이브 에너지에 의한 황철석의 상변환과 암모니아 용액에 의한 Fe-용출 효율에 관한 지구화학적 해석 (The Geochemical Interpretation of Phase Transform and Fe-leaching Efficiency for Pyrite by Microwave Energy and Ammonia Solution)

  • 황철석 시료로부터 Fe를 효과적으로 용출시키기 위하여 마이크로웨이브 에너지와 암모니아 용액을 적용하였다. 황철석을 마이크로웨이브에 60분 동안 노출시키자 적철석과 자류철석으로 상변환되었다. 그리고 암모니아 용액에 의하여 Fe가 최대로 용출되는 마이크웨이브 노출시간은 60분이였다. Fe 용출율이 99% 이상으로 나타나는 시료와 마이크로웨이브 노출 조건은 325-400 mesh의 황철석 시료와 60분에서였다. 그리고 암모니아 용출 조건은 0.3 M의 황산, 2.0 M의 황산암모늄 그리고 0.1 M의 과산화수소 농도에서였다. 고체-잔류물에 대하여 XRD 분석을 수행한 결과 황철석, 적철석 그리고 자류철석은 암모니아 용액에 의하여 완전히 제거되었지만 석영은 제거되지 않았다.

Preparation and characterization of microporous NaOH-activated carbons from hydrofluoric acid leached rice husk and its application for lead(II) adsorption

  • Three activated carbons (ACs) were prepared using NaOH (N) as an activating agent. Hydrofluoric acid pre-leached rice husk was used as a precursor. After leaching, the precursor was washed with distilled water, dried, crushed, and then sieved; a size fraction of 0.3-0.5 mm was selected for carbonization in the absence of air at $600^{\circ}C$. The carbonization product (LC) was mixed with NaOH at ratios of 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4 (wt of LC: wt of NaOH) and the produced ACs after activation at $800^{\circ}C$ were designated NLC21, NLC31, and NLC41, respectively. Surface and textural properties were determined using nitrogen adsorption at $-196^{\circ}C$, scanning electron microscopy images, thermogravimetric analysis, and Fourier transform infrared spectra. These ACs were used as adsorbents for lead(II) from aqueous solutions. The effects of the textural properties and the chemistry of the carbon surfaces were investigated and the impact of the operation conditions on the capacity for lead(II) sorption was also considered. Modification of NLC41 with $H_2O_2$ and $HNO_3$ gave two other adsorbents, $H_{NLC41}$ and $N_{NLC41}$ respectively. These two new samples exhibited the highest removal capacities for lead(II), i.e.117.5 and 128.2 mg/g, respectively. The adsorption data fitted the Langmuir isotherm and the kinetic adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetics. The thermodynamic parameters have been determined and they indicated a spontaneous endothermic process.

낙동강 퇴적물 내 중금속 존재 형태 및 용출 가능성 (Speciation and Leaching Potential of Heavy Metals in Sediments of Nakdong River)

  • Experimental studies were performed to investigate speciation and leaching potential of heavy metals(Cu, Cd, Pb Zn, Ni) in ten sediment samples collected from Nakdong River. Acid Volatile Sulfide (AVS) and Simultaneously Extractable Metals (SEM) measurements were used to estimate heavy metals that can be leached under anaerobic conditions. Sequential Extraction Procedure (SEP) and Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) were used to characterize speciation and leaching potential of heavy metals under aerobic conditions. The results show that total concentrations of Cu, Zn and Ni were relatively high in the sediments from points Seongseo industrial complex stream (upper stream) (D), Seongseo industrial complex stream (midstream) (E), Dalseo stream (F), and Nakdong river estuary (J), and that Cd concentrations were higher in all sampling points except for Goriung Bridge (G) and Soosan Bridge (H). SEM and AVS analyses reveal that samples from points Ilsun Bridge (A), Namgumi Bridge (C), and Soosan Bridge (H) have potential of heavy metals leaching, although leachable concentrations are relatively low. The leaching potential of heavy metals in other points was low because of higher concentrations of AVS than SEM. SEP results show that more than 50% of Cu, Zn and Ni were present in residual fraction, which means these metals are less amenable to leaching in anaerobic conditions. On the other hand, more than 50% of Pb and Cd were extracted during the first through third step of the SEP, which means substantial fraction of these metals can be leached upon changing of redox conditions. TCLP tests predict that leaching potential of heavy metals was generally low, which is consistent with the results obtained by AVS and SEM measurements.

시호 입모향상을 위한 파종전 노천매장 효과 (Effects of Seed Pretreatments on Emergence, Growth and Yield of Bupleurum falcatum L.)

  • 시호 입모향상에 대한 기초자료를 얻고자 휴면을 타파하고 발아를 촉진시키는 것으로 알려 진 종자처리방법으로 종피파상, 황산침지, 저온처리, 수세처리, 노천매장 등의 처리를 공시하여 실내 검정에 의한 발아향상효과와 포장에서의 입모, 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 시험을 실시한 결과는 아래와 같았다. 1. 실내상토시험 결과 발아율이 무처리 50%에 비하여 수세처리 62%. 노천매장 77%로 향상되었다. 이 효과는 수세처리에 의한 발아억제물질 용탈과 노천매장 처리에 의한 발아억제물질 용탈 및 미숙 배의 생장이 발아향상의 주원인으로 추정 된다. 2. 볏짚 피복 포장에서 입모율은 무처리 83%에 비하여 수세처리 87%, 노천매장 90%로 향상되었고 출아일수도 무처리 47일보다 수세처리 21일, 노천매장 31일 각각 단축되었다. 3. ha당 건근수량은 무처리 423kg 비하여 입모율이 높아 수확주수가 많고 출아가 빨라 생육기간이 길어 식물체당 생근중이 무거웠던 수세처리와 노천매장처리가 각각 22%, 29% 증수되었다.

Reduction Leaching of Manganese Dioxide Ore Using Black Locust as Reductant in Sulfuric Acid Solution

  • We investigated the reduction leaching process of manganese dioxide ore using black locust as reductant in sulfuric acid solution. The effect of parameters on the leaching efficiency of manganese was the primary focus. Experimental results indicate that manganese leaching efficiency of 97.57% was achieved under the optimal conditions: weight ratio of black locust to manganese dioxide ore (WT) of 4:10, ore particle size of $63{\mu}m$, $1.7mol{\cdot}L^{-1}\;H_2SO_4$, liquid to solid ratio (L/S) of 5:1, leaching time of 8 h, leaching temperature of 368 K and agitation rate of $400r{\cdot}min^{-1}$. The leaching rate of manganese, based on the shrinking core model, was found to be controlled by inner diffusion through the ash/inert layer composed of associated minerals. The activation energy of reductive leaching is $17.81kJ{\cdot}mol^{-1}$. To conclude the reaction mechanism, XRD analysis of leached ore residue indicates manganese compounds disappear; FTIR characterization of leached residue of black locust sawdust shows hemicellulose and cellulose disappear after the leaching process.

페루 남동부 쿠스코주 콘스탄시아 반암동-몰리브데늄 광산의 지질 및 광화작용 (Geology and Mineralization in Constancia Porphyry Cu-Mo Mine, Cusco State, Southeastern Peru)

  • 콘스탄시아 광산은 페루 남동부 안다우아이라스-야우리 Cu-Mo-Au 광화대 내에 발달하는 광상으로서, 구조적으로는 아방까이 변형대의 남서쪽에 위치하며 반암동광형태로 부존한다. 콘스탄시아 광산의 광화대는 상부로부터 용탈대, 2차부화대(약 1% Cu), 혼합대, 초생광화대(약 0.5%), 스카른대(약 1.5% Cu)로 구성되어 있다. 주요 모암은 몬조니 반암이다. 용탈대는 갈철석 침전이 특징적이며 노두상에서는 갈색으로 보인다. 스카른대는 자철석과 석류석의 산출이 특징적이다. 현재 콘스탄시아 광산은 캐나다의 Hudbay사가 100% 지분을 보유하고 있으며, 2015년 1월부터 상용생산을 시작하였다.

산업폐기물 소각장에서 발생된 소각비산회의 침출특성 (Characteristic of Leaching with Incineration Fly Ash of Industrial Solid Wastes)

  • 본 연구에서는 산업폐기물 소각비산재를 2차자원으로 이용하기 위하여 침출법으로 금속의 존재와 그 양을 확인하여 분리·회수에 대한 기초자료를 제시하였다. 소각 비산재의 침출액에서는 다량의 Cu, Pb, Zn과 다양한 유해 중금속이 미량 함유되어 있었으며, 이들 소각재에 함유된 성분의 농도는 소각로에 도입되는 폐기물의 종류에 따라 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 침출제로서 물, 황산, 탄산암모늄의 수산화나트륨을 이용하여 여러단계의 침출조작을 시도하여 하였다. 물 침출에 의하여 구리를, 수산화나트륨의 침출액에 의하여 아연과 납을 분리하고, 3차 침출제인 탄산암모늄의 침출액에 의하여 물에 미용해된 구리를 착이온 형태로 선택적으로 침출할 수 있었다. 각 단계별에 의한 무게 감량율은 물, 황산, 탄산암모늄에 의한 각 단계의 침출에 의하여 77%의 감량을 확인하였으며, 그 외의 각 방법에서는 60%이상의 무게 감량을 나타내었다.

Cu 이온에 적응된 토착호산성박테리아를 이용한 폐광석으로부터 미생물용출 효율 향상 (The Efficiency of Bioleaching Rates for Valuable Metal Ions from the Mine Waste Ore using the Adapted Indigenous Acidophilic Bacteria with Cu Ion)

  • This study was carried out to leach valuable metal ions from the mine waste ore using the adapted indigenous bacteria. In order to tolerance the heavy metals, the indigenous bacteria were repeatedly subcultured in the adaptation-medium containing $CuSO_4{\cdot}5H_2O$ for 3 weeks and 6 weeks, respectively. As the adaptation experiment processed, the pH was rapidly decrease in the adaptation-medium of 6 weeks more than the 3 weeks. The result of bioleaching with the adapted bacteria for 42 days, the pH value of leaching-medium in the 3 weeks tend to increased, whereas the pH of the 6 weeks decreased. In decreasing the pH value in the adaptation-medium and in the leaching-medium, it was identified that the indigenous bacteria were adapted $Cu^{2+}$ the ion and the mine waste ores. The contents of Cu, Fe and Zn in the leaching solution were usually higher leached in 6 weeks than 3 weeks due to the adaptation. Considering the bioleaching rates of Cu, Fe and Zn from these leaching solutions, the highest increasing the efficiency metal ion were found to be Fe. Accordingly, it is expected that the more valuable element ions can be leached out from the any mine waste, if the adapted bacteria with heavy metals will apply in future bioleaching experiments.
