Although the adhesion properties of composite electrodes are important for securing long-term reliability and realizing high energy density of lithium secondary batteries, related research has not been carried out extensively due to the limitation of measurement technology. However, surface and interfacial cutting analysis system(SAICAS), which can measure the adhesion properties while cutting and peeling a coating layer of $1{\sim}1000{\mu}m$ thickness, has been developed and applied for analyzing the adhesion properties of composite electrodes for lithium secondary batteries. Thus, this review presents not only the principle and measurement method of SAICAS but also comparison results between SAICAS and conventional peel test. In addition, application examples of SAICAS are introduced in the study of electrode design optimization, new binder derivation study, and binder distribution in composite electrode. This suggests that SAICAS is an analytical method that can be easily applied to investigate the adhesion properties of composite electrodes for lithium secondary batteries.
The tau-p inversion algorithm is widely employed to generate starting models with most computer programs, which implement refraction tomography. This algorithm emphasises the vertical resolution of many layers, and as a result, it frequently fails to detect even large lateral variations in seismic velocities, such as the decreases which are indicative of shear zones. This study demonstrates the failure of the tau-p inversion algorithm to detect or define a major shear zone which is 50m or 10 stations wide. Furthermore, the majority of refraction tomography programs parameterise the seismic velocities within each layer with vertical velocity gradients. By contrast, the Generalized Reciprocal Method (GRM) inversion algorithms emphasise the lateral resolution of individual layers. This study demonstrates the successful detection and definition of the 50m wide shear zone with the GRM inversion algorithms. The existence of the shear zone is confirmed by a 2D analysis of the head wave amplitudes and by numerous closely spaced orthogonal seismic profiles carried out as part of a later 3D refraction investigation. Furthermore, an analysis of the shot record amplitudes indicates that a reversal in the seismic velocities, rather than vertical velocity gradients, occurs in the weathered layers. The major conclusion reached in this study is that while all seismic refraction operations should aim to provide as accurate depth estimates as is practical, those which emphasise the lateral resolution of individual layers generate more useful results for geotechnical and environmental applications. The advantages of the improved lateral resolution are obtained with 2D traverses in which the structural features can be recognised from the magnitudes of the variations in the seismic velocities. Furthermore, the spatial patterns obtained with 3D investigations facilitate the recognition of structural features such as faults which do not display any intrinsic variation or 'signature' in seismic velocities.

An adaptive optics system can be simulated or analyzed to predict its closed-loop performance. However, this type of prediction based on various assumptions can occasionally produce outcomes which are far from actual experience. Thus, every adaptive optics system is desired to be tested in a closed loop on an optical test bench before its application to a telescope. In the close-loop test bench, we need an atmospheric simulator that simulates atmospheric disturbances, mostly in phase, in terms of spatial and temporal behavior. We report the development of an atmospheric turbulence simulator consisting of two point sources, a commercially available deformable mirror with a $12{\times}12$ actuator array, and two random phase plates. The simulator generates an atmospherically distorted single or binary star with varying stellar magnitudes and angular separations. We conduct a simulation of a binary star by optically combining two point sources mounted on independent precision stages. The light intensity of each source (an LED with a pin hole) is adjustable to the corresponding stellar magnitude, while its angular separation is precisely adjusted by moving the corresponding stage. First, the atmospheric phase disturbance at a single instance, i.e., a phase screen, is generated via a computer simulation based on the thin-layer Kolmogorov atmospheric model and its temporal evolution is predicted based on the frozen flow hypothesis. The deformable mirror is then continuously best-fitted to the time-sequenced phase screens based on the least square method. Similarly, we also implement another simulation by rotating two random phase plates which were manufactured to have atmospheric-disturbance-like residual aberrations. This later method is limited in its ability to simulate atmospheric disturbances, but it is easy and inexpensive to implement. With these two methods, individually or in unison, we can simulate typical atmospheric disturbances observed at the Bohyun Observatory in South Korea, which corresponds to an area from 7 to 15 cm with regard to the Fried parameter at a telescope pupil plane of 500 nm.
In this research, we designed an LSPR sensor based on a thin-film multilayer comprising $TiO_2$ and $SiO_2$. The thickness of the overall substrate layer of the suggested multilayer LSPR sensor is limited to 100 nm, and the number of repeating $TiO_2$ and $SiO_2$ thin films is 1-4 within a limited thickness. Additionally, a nanowire structure with a gold thin film of 40 nm, height of 40 nm, period of 600 nm, and line width of 300 nm was formed on the multilayer. To design the variable wavelength-type SPR, the angle was fixed at $75^{\circ}$ and the wavelength was changed. We then simulated the system with the finite-element method (FEM) using Maxwell's equations. It was confirmed that the resonance wavelength became shorter as the number of multilayers increased when the refractive index was fixed. We found that the wavelength changes were more sensitive. However, no changes were observed when the number of the multilayers was three or higher.

Ablative material in a rocket nozzle is exposed to high temperature combustion gas, thus undergoes complicated thermal/chemical change in terms of chemical destruction of surface and thermal decomposition of inner material. Therefore, method for conjugate analysis of thermal response inside carbon/phenolic material including rocket nozzle flow, surface chemical reaction and thermal decomposition is developed in this research. CFD is used to simulate flow field inside nozzle and conduction in the ablative material. A change in material density and a heat absorption caused by the thermal decomposition is considered in solid energy equation. And algebraic equation under boundary layer assumption is used to deduce reaction rate on the surface and resulting destruction of the surface. In order to test the developed method, small rocket nozzle is solved numerically. Although the ablation of nozzle throat is deduced to be higher than the experiment, shape change and temperature distribution inside material is well predicted. Error in temperature with experimental results in rapid heating region is found to be within 100 K.

Measurements of the local heat transfer coefficients on hemispherical convex and concave surfaces with a turbulent impinging jet were made. The Reynolds number used was 11000, 23000, 50000 and the nozzle- to- surface distance was L/d=2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 and the jet angle was a = $0^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $40^{\circ}$. In case of concave surface, the Nusselt number at the stagnation point decreases as the jet angle increases and has the maximum value for L/d=6. The X-axis Nusselt number distributions exhibit secondary maxima at $0^{\circ}$$\leq$ a $\leq$$15^{\circ}$, L/d $\leq$ 4 for X/d<0(upstream) and at $0^{\circ}$$\leq$ a $\leq$$40^{\circ}$, L/d $\leq$ 4 and at $30^{\circ}$$\leq$ a $\leq$$40^{\circ}$, 4 < L/d $\leq$ 6 for X/d<0(downstream). The secondary maximum occurs at long distance from the stagnation point as the jet angle increases or the nozzle-to-surface distance decreases. In case of convex, correlations of the stagnation point Nusselt number according to Reynolds number, jet-to-surface distance ratio and dimensionless surface angle are presented. In the stagnation point, in term of Ren, n ranges from 0.43 in case of 2 $\leq$ L/d $\leq$ 6 to 0.45 in case of 6 < L/d $\leq$ 10, there agrees roughly appears to be laminar boundary layer result. The maximum Nusselt number, in this experiment, occurred in the direction of upstream. The displacement of the maximum Nusselt number from the stagnation point increases with increasing surface angle or decreasing nozzle-to-surface distance. On this condition about surface curvature D/d=10, the maximum displacement is about 0.7 times of the jet nozzle diameter. The ratio of the maximum Nusselt number to the stagnation Nusselt number increases as the jet angle increases.
For the silver artifacts in the Koryo Dynasty excavated from Neungnae-ri Ganghwa island, the metallographic section analysis and hardness and chemical analysis were conducted. After making samples in the similar ratio of the composition concentration, the changes of the microstructure were checked according to the working method and temperature. The results show that those silver artifacts are Au-Cu alloys with 2 to 6 % of Cu. From the results it is judged that Cu was artificially alloyed with them to keep the proper hardness and identified that they were gilded by the amalgamation process seeing that mercury was included at the guilt layer. Also the porous texture on the surface of them could be formed at over $400^{\circ}C$, therefore, it is assumed the hot working or heat treatment at over $400^{\circ}C$ were performed. In silver artifacts made by the relief and repousse, they have the similar composition analysis to other 7 artifacts but the hardness is lower than pure silver. Consequently from differences in the hardness, it can be inferred that the low hardness of silver artifacts is concerned with manufacturing techniques.

The Gwangneung KoFlux supersite, located in a rugged mountain region, is characterized by a low wind speed due to a mountain-valley circulation and rolling terrain. Therefore, it is essential to understand the effect of coordinate rotation on flux measurements by the eddy-covariance method. In this paper, we review the properties of three orthogonal coordinate frames (i.e., double, triple, and planar fit rotations) and apply to flux data observed at the Gwangneung supersite. The mean offset of vertical wind speed of sonic anemometer was inferred from the planar fit (PF) coordinate rotation, yielding the diurnal variation of about $\pm0.05ms^{-1}$. Double rotation $(\bar{v}=\bar{w}=0)$ produced virtually the same turbulent fluxes of heat, water, and $CO_2$ as those from the PF rotation under windy conditions. The former, however, resulted in large biases under calm conditions. The friction velocity, an important scaling parameter in the atmospheric surface layer, was more sensitive to the choice of coordinate rotation method.

ZSM-5 crystals grew by hydrothermal synthesis method on the surface of foam type porous silicon carbide ceramics which fabricated by polymer replica method. Oxide layer was developed on the surface of the porous silicon carbide ceramics to induce growth of ZSM-5 from the surface. In this study, hydrothermal synthesis was carried out for 7 h at $150^{\circ}C$ using TEOS, $Al(NO_3){\cdot}9H_2O$ and TPAOH as raw materials in the presence of the porous silicon carbide ceramics. X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analyses were confirmed $1{\sim}3{\mu}m$ sized ZSM-5 crystals have grown on the surface of porous silicon carbide ceramics. BET data shows that small pores about $10{\AA}$ size drastically enhanced and surface area increased from $0.83m^2/g$ to $30.75m^2/g$ after ZSM-5 synthesis on the surface of foam type porous silicon carbide ceramics.

The tactical mobile communication network, which comprises a part of the next-generation Tactical Information and Communication Network (TICN), provides means of communication and control for Tactical Multi-Functional Terminals (TMFT) belonging to a Mobile Subscriber Access Point (MSAP). The next-generation of MSAP is capable of constructing a backbone network via LCTR and HCTR directional antennas. At the same time, WMN modules are used to create and manage a wireless mesh backbone. When directional antennas are used in mobile environments, seamless services cannot be efficiently supported as the movement of the node prevents the angle of the antenna to constantly match. Therefore, data communication through the wireless mesh networks is required to provide direct communication between mobile MSAPs. Accordingly, mutual authentication and data encryption mechanisms are required to provide reliable data transmission in this environment. To provide efficient mutual authentication between MSAP devices, the process of verifying a certificate of the other MSAP device through its own authentication server is required. This paper proposes mutual authentication mechanisms where the MSAP requiring authentication and the MSAP that permits it initiates low-cost and efficient authentication in a distributed way. More specifically, we propose a method of applying EAP-ELS (Extensible Authentication Protocol-Transport Layer Security) in the next-generation TICN.
