To investigate the characteristics of seasonal environment and phytoplankton community structure in the coastal area of Dokdo, a survey of Dokdo around waters was conducted during the four seasons. Phytoplankton of 4 phylum 72 species in four seasons were collected in Dokdo around water. The seasonal mean abundance of phytoplankton were $3.32{\times}10^4cells\;L^{-1}$ in winter, $1.04{\times}10^4cells\;L^{-1}$ in spring, $0.28{\times}10^4cells\;L^{-1}$ in summer, and $4.86{\times}10^4cells\;L^{-1}$ in autumn in Dokdo around water. During winter, the diatoms Chaetoceros spp. had dominated. During spring, when the nutrients in the euphotic layer were depleted, the nano-flagellates and Cryptomonas appeared at surface layer. In summer, the abundance of phytoplankton was relatively low, which lead to occurrence of diatoms such as genus of Chaetoceros, Rhizosolenia, and Skeletonema. In autumn, Pseudo-nitzschia spp. was the most dominant species and tropical species such as Amphisolenia sp. and Ornithocercus magnificus were observed, implying that they may have introduced within warm water current such as Kurosiwo Current. Therefore, although natural phytoplankton communities in the vicinity water of Dokdo are mainly influenced by Tsushima Warm Current branched Kurosiwo Current, their population dynamics was affected on the spatio-temporal change of physicochemical factors by short-term wind events, namely "island effect". Long-term survey research is needed to facilitate food-web response in marine ecosystem associated with phytoplankton biomass and physicochemical factors including the warm water current in oligotrophic offshore water of Dokdo, which may have significant role for sustainable use of Dokdo.
Although the stone pagoda in Mireuk Temple site, Iksan, Cholla Province has been collapsed long time ago, few historical record has clearly explained the reason why the pagoda was collapsed and when. The west side of the pagoda have been destroyed from top to the sixth floor and the broken or damaged stone materials have been piled up in disorder. the lower part in the west was reinforced and enclosed by a stone embankment levelled to the height of the first storey of the pagoda. With no record informing the historical fact when it was made and by whom, it is only presumed that the embankment may have been built long time ago in order to prevent remains from further destruction. In the second chapter of the study, it has been tried to restore a reasonable historical background of the pagoda based on records or comments found in literatures such as traditional poetry and essays in chronological order. The collapsed slope in the west side, just above the embankment surrounding the lower part of the pagoda, was concreted in 1915 during the Japanese colonial period. Then in 1998, the Jeollabukdo has examined the structural safety of the pagoda. The Cultural Properties Committee has decided have the concrete layer removed and moreover to take apart the whole pagoda. It is also included that the disassembled stone materials should be given proper conservation treatments before being put into the place where they were in the reassembling process. The front view of the collapsed phase of the pagoda was revealed when the concrete-covered layer was removed. A hypothesis was built that there may be as many different appearances of collapsed pagoda depending on natural causes such as earthquake, sunken foundation, flood and typhoon. In chapter three, characteristic features were classified by examining various images of pagodas destroyed by different natural reasons mentioned in historical records. The chapter four dealt with comparison and analysis on the conditions shown in the stone pagoda in Mireuk Temple site and other examples studied in advance. The result of the study revealed that though having been made higher than the ground surface, the podium or the base of the pagoda actually has been eroded by rain and water. The erosion is supposed not only to have been proceeded for a long time without break but also to have caused the first storey body stone in the west inclined to outward. It has come to a conclusion that the pagoda may have been lead to collapse when the first storey body stone, supporting the whole weight from the upper storeys, became out of upright position and lost its balance. However, no such distinctive features of structural changes shown in pagodas collapsed by natural causes like earthquake, typhoon or sunken basement, have been found in the stone pagoda in Mireuk Temple site.
The purpose of this study was to classify the types of degraded areas of Mt. Jirisan section in Baekdudaegan and survey the actual condition of each damage type to use it as basic data for the direction of the restoration of damaged areas according to damage type based on the vegetation information of reference ecosystem. The analysis of the Mt. Jirisan section's actual degraded conditions showed that the total number of patches of degraded areas was 57, and the number of patches and size of degraded areas was higher at the low average altitude and gentle slope. Grasslands (deserted lands) and cultivated areas accounted for a high portion of the damage types, indicating that agricultural land use was a major damage factor. The survey on the conditions of 14 degraded areas showed that the types of damage were classified into the grassland, cultivated area, restoration area, logged-off land, and bare ground. The analysis of the degree of disturbance (the ratio of annual and biennial herb, urbanized index, and disturbance index) by each type showed that the simple single-layer vegetation structure mostly composed of the herbaceous and the degree of disturbance were high in the grassland and cultivated land. The double-layer vegetation structure appeared in the restoration area where the pine seedlings were planted, and the inflow of naturalized plants was especially high compared to other degraded areas due to disturbances caused by the restoration project and the nearby hiking trails. Although the inflow of naturalized plants was low because of high altitude in bare ground, the proportion of annual and biennial herb was high, indicating that all surveyed degraded areas were in early succession stages. The stand ordination by type of damage showed the restoration area on the I-axis, cultivated area, grassland, logged-off land, and bare ground in that order, indicating the arrangement by the damage type. Moreover, the stand ordination of the degraded areas and reference ecosystem based on floristic variation showed a clear difference in species composition. This study diagnosed the status of each damage type based on the reference ecosystem information according to the ecological restoration procedure and confirmed the difference in species composition between the diagnosis result and the reference ecosystem. These findings can be useful basic data for establishing the restoration goal and direction in the future.
Biomonitoring Survey and Assessment Manual for lake ecosystem suggest zooplankton collection methods to compare relatively the number of species, population density, and community indices, taking into account the convenience of the field sampling according to the sites' water depth. In this study, the oblique towing and 20 m vertical towing methods presented in the manual were respectively compared with the whole water column-vertical towing and we analyzed the differences and characteristics of zooplankton community information gathered by each collection method. For community indices, there was no difference in the comparison of oblique/vertical towing methods in the shallow lake, but in the deep lake, the diversity and richness indices increased when vertically towing through whole water column rather than when limiting the towing depth to 20 m. In addition, the total zooplankton density collected by the oblique/20 m vertical towing methods was about three times higher than the whole water column-vertical towing method, which means that the density of zooplankton community can be overestimated depending on the collection methods. It appears to be results of differences in the zooplankton density by water layer arising from their vertical distribution and in filtered raw water quantity according to the towing depth/distance. Hence, for zooplankton community information to be used as a functional quantitative indicator representing the entire lake, it would be more appropriate to apply the whole water column-vertical towing method with considering the distribution of zooplankton density by depth and contribution rate of each water layer when converting total zooplankton density.

Problems arising during pile design works for plant construction, civil and architecture work are mostly come from uncertainty of geotechnical characteristics. In particular, obtaining the N-value measured through the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) is the most important data. However, it is difficult to obtain N-value by drilling investigation throughout the all target area. There are many constraints such as licensing, time, cost, equipment access and residential complaints etc. it is impossible to obtain geotechnical characteristics through drilling investigation within a short bidding period in overseas. The geotechnical characteristics at non-drilling investigation points are usually determined by the engineer's empirical judgment, which can leads to errors in pile design and quantity calculation causing construction delay and cost increase. It would be possible to overcome this problem if N-value could be predicted at the non-drilling investigation points using limited minimum drilling investigation data. This study was conducted to predicted the N-value using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) which one of the Artificial intelligence (AI) method. An Artificial Neural Network treats a limited amount of geotechnical characteristics as a biological logic process, providing more reliable results for input variables. The purpose of this study is to predict N-value at the non-drilling investigation points through patterns which is studied by multi-layer perceptron and error back-propagation algorithms using the minimum geotechnical data. It has been reviewed the reliability of the values that predicted by AI method compared to the measured values, and we were able to confirm the high reliability as a result. To solving geotechnical uncertainty, we will perform sensitivity analysis of input variables to increase learning effect in next steps and it may need some technical update of program. We hope that our study will be helpful to design works in the future.
The Yunggimuntogi(Treasure No. 597) has been known to be recovered at Yeongseondong Shell Mounds, Busan in 1933 during the Japanese colonial period. This artifact is characterized by a short spout attached to one side of the mouth rim as well as a V-shaped clay stripe on the upper body part, which is the only earthenware designated as national cultural heritage from the prehistoric period. In order to prepare for the earthquakes that have recently become more frequent, this study has precisely diagnosed the conservation status and stabilized the artifact through scientific conservation treatment. As a result of the precise diagnosis of the preservation status, cracks and losses were observed in the spout, the mouth rim, and the base. In some portion of the raised pattern decorations, loss of fine pieces raised concerns over the secondary damage. The C·T image analysis has shown that the earthenware had been once glued and restored from dozens of broken pieces. From the sites restored in the past, the peeling of surface colored layer and the fine cracks between the restoration material and the earthenware clay were observed due to the aging of the restoration material. Furthermore, the inherent color and texture of the earthenware was altered by excessive color matching. The damaged and restored sites were concentrated on the left side, the rear side, and the right side. The damages were more severe on the base than the body portion. In the past, gypsum(CaSO4) had been mainly used as restoration material, and synthetic resin had been partially used for joining and reinforcing the pieces. On the surface of the restoration sites, it is presumed that lead chromate(PbCrO4) yellow modern pigment was used for color matching. The precise diagnosis has revealed that the restoration material in the past has been stabilized by interlocking with the earthenware clay for a long time. Therefore, in this conservation treatment, the coloring layer of the excessively painted surface was washed to recover the original color and texture of the earthenware, and the physically vulnerable parts of the sites restored in the past were mainly targeted for joining and restoration. The conservation treatment has proceeded in the order of cleaning, joining and restoration, and color matching, and materials and methods suitable for the artifacts were selected and applied through a preliminary experiment. The survey on conservation status before the treatment as well as the conservation treatment process have been systematically recorded and documented to provide basic data for further continuous conservation and maintenance by collecting institutions.
We studied the magnetotransport properties of tunnel junctions with AlO and AlN barriers fabricated using microwave-excited plasma. The plasma nitridation process provided wider controllability than the plasma oxidization for the formation of MTJs with ultra-thin insulating layer, because of the slow nitriding rate of metal Al layers, comparing with the oxidizing rate of them. High tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) ratios of 49 and 44% with respective resistance-area product $(R{\times}A) of 3 {\times} 10^4 and 6 {\times} 10^3 {\Omega}{\mu}m^2$ were obtained in the Co-Fe/Al-N/Co-Fe MTJs. We conclude that AlN is a hopeful barrier material to realize MTJs with high TMR ratio and low $R{\times}A$ for high performance MRAM cells. In addition, in order to clarify the annealing temperature dependence of TMR, the local transport properties were measured for Ta $50{\AA} /Cu 200 {\AA}/Ta 50 {\AA}/Ni_{76}Fe_{24} 20 {\AA}/Cu 50 {\AA}/Mn_{75}Ir_{25} 100 {\AA}/Co_{71}Fe_{29} 40 {\AA}/Al-O$ junction with $d_{Al}= 8 {\AA} and P_{O2}{\times}t_{0X}/ = 8.4 {\times} 10^4$ at various temperatures. The current histogram statistically calculated from the electrical current image was well in accord with the fitting result considering the Gaussian distribution and Fowler-Nordheim equation. After annealing at $340^{\circ}C$, where the TMR ratio of the corresponding MTJ had the maximum value of 44%, the average barrier height increased to 1.12 eV and its standard deviation decreased to 0.1 eV. The increase of TMR ratio after annealing could be well explained by the enhancement of the average barrier height and the reduction of its fluctuation.
The fact is that in addition to an increase in social needs that must be managed systematically unnecessary exposure in the field of medical Recent important that the shield has emerged. However, products that are now in practical use, are not subdivided as compared to various medical radiology. Therefore, in the present study, we tried to present with the help of Monte Carlo simulation the structure of the shielding material that has been optimized. Simulated estimation result, the energy of the mammography for (30 kVp) spectrum, check the shielding rate of 90% or more $30{\mu}mPb$, at 2 mmAl case of shielding material of a single, at design time of 1 mmAl and 0.03 mmPb a double shield structure it is determined that more efficient. Also, check the blocking rate of 90% or more $340{\mu}mPb$, at 30 mmAl energy captured general in (80 kVp) spectra, it is considered that a double shield structure, design 1 mmAl and 0.3 mmPb is useful. These results, be used as basic material for the development of commercialization customized products for dose reduction is expected.

We have investigated the intrinsic defects remaining in epitaxial GaSb layers grown on SI-GaAs substrates compared to those in bulk GaSb crystal substrate, which is a basic material of Sb-based strained-layer superlattice infrared photodetectors. From the functional dependence of the band-to-band transition energy of the photomuminescence (PL) spectra observing up to near room-temperature (250 K), the temperature parameters of [$E_o$, $\alpha$, $\beta$] of undoped GaSb crystal are determined by using the Varshni empirical equation describing the temperature variation of the bandgap energy. Additionally to the antisite-Ga ([$Ga_{Sb}$]) with an ionization energy of 29 meV that is well known to a major intrinsic defect in GaSb, epitaxial GaSb layers show a pair of deep states at the emission energy of 732/711 meV that may be related with a complex of two antisite-Ga and antisite-Sb ([$Ga_{Sb}-Sb_{Ga}$]). Based on the analysis of the temperature and the excitation-power dependences of PL, it suggests that excess-Sb substitutes Ga-site by self-diffusion and two anti sites of [$Ga_{Sb}$] and [$Sb_{Ga}$] could form as a complex of [$Ga_{Sb}-Sb_{Ga}$] in GaSb epilayers grown under Sb-rich condition.
[ $n^+-p^+$ ] InP homojunction solar cells were fabricated by thermal diffusion of sulphur into a $p^+$-InP wafer($p=4{\times}10^{18}cm^{-3}$), and a SiO film($600{\AA}$ thick) was coated on the $n^+$ layer as an antireflection(AR) coating by an e-beam evaporator. The volume of the cells were $5{\times}5{\times}0.3mm^3$. The front contact grids of the cells with 16 finger pattern of which width and space were $20{\mu}m$ and $300{\mu}m$ respectively, were formed by photo-lithography technique. The junction depth of sulphur were as shallow as about 0.4r m We found out the fabricated solar cells that, with increasing the diffusion time, short circuit current densities($J_{sc}$), series resistances($R_s$) and energy conversion efficiencies(${\eta}$) were increased. The cells show good spectral responses in the region of $5,000-9,000{\AA}$. The short circuit current density, the open circuit voltage( $V_{oc}$), the fill factor(F.F) and the energy conversion efficiency of the cell were $13.16mA/cm^2$, 0.38V, 53.74% and 10.1% respectively.
