띠철근 기근 형태에 따른 철근콘크리트 기둥의 휨 거동 에 관한 연구 (A Study on Flexural Behavior of R.C. Columns with the configuration of Lateral Ties)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete columns confined by lateral ties. This test was carried on the twelve reinforced concrete columns subjected to lateral and constant axial loads. The main experimental variables are concrete strength, the configuration of lateral ties, and the amount of lateral ties. Test results indicated that the steel configuration in column sections plays an important role in column behavior, and a proper configuration of lateral ties can obtain more ductile by the reduction of the space of lateral ties. Also, this experiment show that the utlization of high-strength concrete in columns properly designed on ACI Code takes less ductile. Therefore, we can conclude that the design of high-strength concrete columns under high axial loads requires more lateral ties than ACI Code.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete columns confined by lateral ties. This test was carried on the twelve reinforced concrete columns, 200$\times$200$\times$800mm size. objected to flexure and constant axial loads. The main variables are concrete strength, the configuration of lateral ties and the amount of lateral ties. Test results indicated that steel configuration plays an important role in column behavior, and a proper configuration of lateral ties can be more ductile than the reduce of the space of lateral ties. By this experiment, the ductility of high-strength concrete columns designed on A.C.I Code is not adequate, and are concluded that the design of high-strength concrete column is executed by more lateral ties under high axial loads.

  • This study was focused on the effect of concrete strength and lateral ties of concrete columns using high-strength concrete. Thirty-six concrete columns with 20cm square cross-section were tested. Experimental parameters included the concrete strength, the distribution of longitudinal bars and the volumetric ratio, yield strength, spacing of lateral ties. From the experiments, we found that: 1) the increasing rate of the strength and ductility of concrete columns caused by confinement of lateral ties was decreasing, as the concrete strength increased. 2) The high volumetric ratio and the reduction of tie spacing had a tendency to enhance the strength and improve the ductility. 3) The high-strength concrete columns required high volumetric ratio of lateral ties to maintain the proper strength and ductility. It was observed that the current AIK design code to specify the maximum tie spacing of high-strength concrete columns led to the poor strength and ductility for seismic design.

  • The stress-strain curve of concrete confined with both lateral ties and carbon fiber sheet(CFS) is different to that of concrete confined with only lateral ties or CFS. The objective of this study is to investigate the stress-strain relation of reinforced concrete columns confined by composite material. The main variable of the specimens was the content rate of lateral ties to CFS. In the test a total 24 rectangular specimens, which are all 148$\times$148$\times$300mm size. The test results indicated that while the compressive strength of specimens confined with both lateral ties and CFS increased proportionally to the aided amount of two materials, the maximum strain of specimens depended on the larger strain of lateral ties or CFS.

  • This tests examined bond stress-slip relationship of V-ties embedded into concrete as a supplementary lateral reinforcement proposed for ductility of concrete flexural members. The different leg shapes of V-ties were prepared as a test parameter. The V-tie with pressed end-legs exhibited 28% higher bond strength than the conventional V-ties, whereas bond stress-slip curves were insignificantly affected by the embedment length of V-ties.

Uniaxial Compression Behavior of High-Strength Concrete Confined by Low-Volumetric Ratio Lateral Ties

  • Presently, test results and stress-strain models for poorly confined high-strength columns, more specifically for columns with a tie volumetric ratio smaller than $2.0\%$, are scarce. This paper presents test results loaded in axial direction for square reinforced concrete columns confined by various volumetric ratio lateral ties including low-volumetric ratio. Test variables include concrete compressive strength, tie yield strength, tie arrangement type, and tie volumetric ratio. Local strains measured using strain gages bonded to an acryl rod. For square RC columns confined by lateral ties, the confinement effect was efficiently improved by changing tie arrangement type from Type-A to Type-B. A method to compute the stress in lateral ties at the concrete peak strength and a new stress-strain model for the confined concrete are proposed. Over a wide range of confinement parameters, the model shows good agreement with stress-strain relationships established experimentally.

  • 편심 하중을 받는 철근 콘크리트 기둥에서 띠철근과 콘크리트 강도의 영향을 파악하기 위하여 콘크리트 압축강도, 띠철근 배근간격 및 형상, 편심비를 주요 변수로 하여 단면 $200mm{\times}200mm$의 시험체 24개를 실험하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 콘크리트 기둥은 편심거리비, 띠철근 배근간격, 띠철근 배근형태 등에 관계없이 콘크리트 강도가 증가할수록 취성적으로 거동하였고, 편심거리비가 증가할수록 띠철근 배근에 의한 연성 증가 효과는 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 띠철근 배근간격이 100mm에서 30mm로 줄어들 경우, 최대 내력은 10~20% 증가하였으며, 최대 내력 이후에도 보다 연성적으로 거동하였다. 그러므로 고강도 콘크리트 기둥에서 적당한 연성과 강도를 확보하기 위해서는 일반강도 콘크리트에 비하여 더 많은 띠철근 체적비와 밀실한 띠철근 배근이 필요하였으며, 띠철근 배근 간격만을 제한하는 현재의 대한건축학회 내진 기준은 고강도 콘크리트 사용 시 띠철근의 배근 효과와 부재 연성 확보 측면에서 불안전하였으며, 띠철근을 콘크리트 강도와 연계하는 새로운 내진 기준이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper is to study the effect of rectilinear confinement in high-strength concrete subjected to a monotonically increasing compressive axial loads. To investigate behavior of columns rectilinearly confined with lateral ties and longitudinal rebars, twelve specimens including two plain concrete specimens were tested. The main variables in this study are volumetric ratio of lateral ties, cistribution of lateral ties, yield strength of logitudinal steel, ratio of area of longitudinal steel to the area of cross section. The test results were not only compared with an empirical model for the stress-strain curve of rectilinearly confined high-strength concrete but also the existing model. The empirical model used calculating column capacity shows better agreement with the test results tham the existing model.

  • RC교량의 내진성능은 교각에 충분한 연성도를 제공함으로써 확보할 수 있다. 이러한 연성도는 교각의 소성힌지 영역에 적절한 횡방향철근을 배근함으로써 실현할 수 있다. 횡방향철근에 의한 횡구속력은 유효구속력으로 결정되므로 단면형상과 횡방향철근량이 지배적인 요소가 된다. 동일한 횡방향철근량을 제공하더라도 설치간격, 배치형태, 갈고리 상세 등의 차이에 의해 유효구속력에 차이가 있게 된다. 후프띠철근에 의해 횡구속력을 발휘하는 원형단면과는 달리 사각 또는 중공사각단면에서는 유효구속력을 증가시키기 위해 보강띠철근이 함께 사용된다. 이러한 보강띠철근을 어떻게 고려하느냐에 따라 횡구속된 콘크리트의 응력-변형률 관계는 달라지게 된다. 본 연구에서는 실험을 통해 후프띠철근과 함께 보강띠철근을 갖는 정사각단면 콘크리트의 응력-변형률 관계를 파악하였으며 기존의 평가식과 비교를 통해 역학적 특성을 분석하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to experimentally investigate the strength and ductility of reinforced high strength concrete columns under uniaxial load and several test variables. To do this, we have conducted tests on thirteen 20$\times$20$\times$60cm specimens with 8 and 12 longitudinal steel bars subjected to monotonic uniaxial compression. The main variables considered in this test are the configuration of ties, the space the ties, the diameter of ties and yield strength of ties. The results indicate that the strength and the ductility of reinforced high strength concrete columns have been influenced on these variables except yield strength of ties. Judging from test results, real stress of ties at peak concrete stress is suitable variable than yield strength of ties for estimation of the strength gain factor(Ks).
