In spite of that stop line and crosswalk should be aware of the most basic objects in transportation system, its features extracted are very limited. In addition to image-based recognition technology, laser and RF, GPS/INS recognition technology, it is difficult to recognize. For this reason, the limited research in this area has been done. In this paper, the algorithm to recognize the stop line and crosswalk is designed and implemented using image-based recognition technology with the images input through a vision sensor. This algorithm consists of three functions.; One is to select the area, in advance, needed for feature extraction in order to speed up the data processing, 'Region of Interest', another is to process the images only that white color is detected more than a certain proportion in order to remove the unnecessary operation, 'Color Pattern Inspection', the other is 'Feature Extraction and Recognition', which is to extract the edge features and compare this to the previously-modeled one to identify the stop line and crosswalk. For this, especially by using case based feature comparison algorithm, it can identify either both stop line and crosswalk exist or just one exists. Also the proposed algorithm is to develop existing researches by comparing and analysing effect of in-vehicle camera installation and changes in recognition rate of distance estimation and various constraints such as backlight and shadow.
Electrostatic precipitator is widely used to remove particulate matters in indoor air and industrial flue gas due to low pressure drop and high collection efficiency. However, it has a low collection efficiency for the submicrometer sized particles. Electrospraying is a potential method to increase the particle charging efficiency, which results in increased collection efficiency. Although particle charging efficiency is highly dependent upon droplet size, the effective measuring method of the droplets is still uncertain. Tap water was electrosprayed in this study, and the images of electrosprayed droplets were taken with a high speed camera coupled with several visualization methods in order to measure the droplets size. The droplet size distribution was determined by an image processing with an image-J program. As a result, a droplet measured by a laser visualization, had a half size of that by a Xenon light visualization. In addition, the experimentally measured droplet sizes were a good agreement with the predicted values suggested by
This paper presents a new generation of system for pressure vessel and shipbuilding. Typical pressure vessel and ship building weld joint preparations are either traditional V, butt, fillet grooves or have narrow or semi narrow gap profiles. The fillet and U groove are prevalently used in heavy industries and shipbuilding to melt and join the parts. Since the wall thickness can be up to 6" or greater, welds must be made in many layers, each layer containing several passes. However, the welding time for the conventional processes such as SAW(Submerged Arc Welding) and FCAW(Flux Cored Arc Welding) can be many hours. Although SAW and FCAW are normally a mechanized process, pressure vessel and ship structures welding up to now have usually been controlled by a full time operator. The operator has typically been responsible for positioning each individual weld run, for setting weld process parameters, for maintaining flux and wire levels, for removing slag and so on. The aim of the system is to develop a high speed welding system with multitorch for increasing the production speed on the line and to remove the need for the operator so that the system can run automatically for the complete multi-torch multi-layer weld. To achieve this, a laser vision sensor, a rotating torch and an image processing algorithm have been made. Also, the multitorch welding system can be applicable for the fine grained steel because of the high welding speed and lower heat input compare to a conventional welding process.
Monte Carlo localization is known to be one of the most reliable methods for pose estimation of a mobile robot. Much research has been done to improve performance of MCL so far. Although MCL is capable of estimating the robot pose even for a completely unknown initial pose in the known environment, it takes considerable time to give an initial estimate because the number of random samples is usually very large especially for a large-scale environment. For practical implementation of the MCL, therefore, a reduction in sample size is desirable. This paper presents a novel approach to reducing the number of samples used in the particle filter for efficient implementation of MCL. To this end, the topological information generated off- line using a thinning method, which is commonly used in image processing, is employed. The topological map is first created from the given grid map for the environment. The robot scans the local environment using a laser rangefinder and generates a local topological map. The robot then navigates only on this local topological edge, which is likely to be the same as the one obtained off- line from the given grid map. Random samples are drawn near the off-line topological edge instead of being taken with uniform distribution, since the robot traverses along the edge. In this way, the sample size required for MCL can be drastically reduced, thus leading to reduced initial operation time. Experimental results using the proposed method show that the number of samples can be reduced considerably, and the time required for robot pose estimation can also be substantially decreased.
The pixelated phase grating has been studied as a kind of diffraction gratings splitting and input beam into multiple spots. It consists of regular size cells which produce phase delays, and each cell provokes the phase delay up to sixteen levels. We have compared and analyzed the characteristics of multi-level phase gratings, laying streess on efficiency and resulted pattern. Experimental resutls obtained form fabricated grating have been presented, and the real-time method using a liquid-crystal spatial light modulator has been demonstrated through experiments. Gratings making meams with specific intensities have been designed and optical images have been generated by them. In order to specific intensities have been designed and optical images have been genrated by them. In order to decide the phase delay of each cell, optimization conditon consists of diffraction efficiency and target values. One period of phase gratings fabricated with surface relief was less than 256
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70

Recently Artificial Intelligence(AI) has been developed and used in various fields. Especially AI recognition technology can perceive and distinguish images so it should plays a significant role in quality inspection process. For stability of autonomous driving technology, semiconductors inside automobiles must be protected from external electromagnetic wave(EM wave). As a shield film, a thin polymeric material with hole shaped micro-patterns created by a laser processing could be used for the protection. The shielding efficiency of the film can be increased by the hole structure with appropriate pitch and size. However, since the sensitivity of micro-machining for some parameters, the shape of every single hole can not be same, even it is possible to make defective patterns during process. And it is absolutely time consuming way to inspect all patterns by just using optical microscope. In this paper, we introduce a AI inspection system which is based on web site AI tool. And we evaluate the usefulness of AI model by calculate Area Under ROC curve(Receiver Operating Characteristics). The AI system can classify the micro-patterns into normal or abnormal ones displaying the text of the result on real-time images and save them as image files respectively. Furthermore, pressing the running button, the Hardware of robot arm with two Arduino motors move the film on the optical microscopy stage in order for raster scanning. So this AI system can inspect the entire micro-patterns of a film automatically. If our system could collect much more identified data, it is believed that this system should be a more precise and accurate process for the efficiency of the AI inspection. Also this one could be applied to image-based inspection process of other products.
This paper presents an algorithm that automatically extracts buildings among many different features on the earth surface by fusing LIDAR data with panchromatic aerial images. The proposed algorithm consists of three stages such as point level process, polygon level process, parameter space level process. At the first stage, we eliminate gross errors and apply a local maxima filter to detect building candidate points from the raw laser scanning data. After then, a grouping procedure is performed for segmenting raw LIDAR data and the segmented LIDAR data is polygonized by the encasing polygon algorithm developed in the research. At the second stage, we eliminate non-building polygons using several constraints such as area and circularity. At the last stage, all the polygons generated at the second stage are projected onto the aerial stereo images through collinearity condition equations. Finally, we fuse the projected encasing polygons with edges detected by image processing for refining the building segments. The experimental results showed that the RMSEs of building corners in X, Y and Z were 8.1cm, 24.7cm, 35.9cm, respectively.
The Sacred Bell of Great King Seongdeok is required digital precision recording of conservation conditions because of corrosion and partial abrasion of its patterns and inscriptions. Therefore, this study performed digital documentation of the bell using four types of scanning and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry technologies, and performed the various shape analyses through image processing. The modeling results of terrestrial laser scanning and UAV photogrammetry were merged and utilized as basic material for monitoring earthquake-induced structural deformation because these techniques can construct mutual spatial relationships between the bell and its tower. Additionally, precision scanning at a resolution four to nine times higher than that of the previous study provided highly valuable information, making it possible to visualize the patterns and inscriptions of the bell. Moreover, they are well-suited as basic data for identifying surface conservation conditions. To actively apply three-dimensional scanning results to the conservation of the original bell, the time and position of any changes in shape need to be established by further scans in the short-term. If no change in shape is detected by short-term monitoring, the monitoring should continue in medium- and long-term intervals.
