Diagnosis using voice is non-invasive and can be implemented through various voice recording devices; therefore, it can be used as a screening or diagnostic assistant tool for laryngeal voice disease to help clinicians. The development of artificial intelligence algorithms, such as machine learning, led by the latest deep learning technology, began with a binary classification that distinguishes normal and pathological voices; consequently, it has contributed in improving the accuracy of multi-classification to classify various types of pathological voices. However, no conclusions that can be applied in the clinical field have yet been achieved. Most studies on pathological speech classification using speech have used the continuous short vowel /ah/, which is relatively easier than using continuous or running speech. However, continuous speech has the potential to derive more accurate results as additional information can be obtained from the change in the voice signal over time. In this review, explanations of terms related to artificial intelligence research, and the latest trends in machine learning and deep learning algorithms are reviewed; furthermore, the latest research results and limitations are introduced to provide future directions for researchers.

A multiple primary malignant tumor is a disease mainly encountered in the of the older age groups. Attempts should be made to rule out a second primary malignant neoplasm in the elderly patients with unusual signs and symptoms. We encountered a case of a 67-year-old male with triple primary malignant tumors of the stomach, larynx, and lung. The patient had been treated with a subtotal gastrectomy for early gastric cancer in 1991 and a Laser laryngectomy for the laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma in 2003. In 2005, lung cancer was found with the biopsy revealing an adenosquamous carcinoma. Systemic chemotherapy was performed.

Otolaryngological manifestations of acid reflux include a wide range of pharyngeal and laryngeal symptoms ; and the constellation of symptoms has been called laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR). In the absence of definite diagnostic criteria, LPR disease remains a subjective entity. A diagnosis of LPR is usually based on response of symptoms to empirical treatment. Investigative modalities such as pH monitoring and, more recently, impedance studies are generally reserved for treatment failures. LPR usually requires more aggressive and prolonged treatment to achieve regression of both symptoms and laryngeal findings. The suppression of gastric acid and secretion with anti-secretary agents has been the mainstay of medical treatment for patients with acid-related disorders. The suppression of gastric acid secretion achieved with Hz-receptor antagonist $(H_2RA)$ has proved suboptimal for relief of reflux symptoms. The rapid development of tolerance and rebound acid hypersecretion after the with-drawal of $H_2RA$ limit their clinical use. Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) have been proved to be very effective for suppressing intragastric acidity, but the optimal dose and duration is unknown. Current evidence indicates that pharmacologic intervention should include, at a minimum, a 3 month trial of twice daily PPI. Symptoms of LPR improve over 2 months of therapy. The physical findings of LPR resolve more slowly than the symptoms and this continues through out at least 6 months of treatment. For most patients with LPR, twice daily dosing with a PPI is usually recommended for an initial treatment for a period of no less than 6 months treatment, and lifetime treatment may be required.
Objectives: To evaluate accuracy of FDG-PET CT in prediction of persistent disease in head and neck cancer cases and to determine prognostic value of metabolic tumor response. Materials and Methods: Between 2009 and 2011, 46 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck receiving PET-CT were treated with definitive radiotherapy, with or without chemotherapy. There were 29 nasopharyngeal, 11 hypopharyngeal, 3 oropharyngeal and 3 laryngeal cancer patients, with a median age of 50.5 years (range 16-84), 32 males and 14 females. All patients were evaluated with PET-CT median 3-5 months (2.4-9.4) after completion of radiotherapy. Results: After a median 20 months of follow up, complete metabolic response was observed in 63% of patients. Suspicious residual uptake was present in 10.9% and residual metabolic uptake in 26.0% of patients. The overall sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of FDG-PET-CT for detection of residual disease was 91% and 81%, 64% and 96% respectively. Two year LRC was 95% in complete responders while it was 34% in non-complete responders. Conclusions: FDG PET CT is a valuable tool for assessment of treatment response, especially in patients at high risk of local recurrence, and also as an indicator of prognosis. Definitely more precise criteria are required for assessment of response, there being no clear cut uptake value indicating residual disease. Futhermore, repair processes of normal tissue may consume glucose which appear as increased uptake in control FDG PET CT.
The most basic means of communication among humans is a voice. Without speaking of voice technologies, we found it is important and convenient to use a voice in everyday life. But. in consideration to speech recognition systems, we can't always desire a normal voice input as input signal to the system. Generally speaking. a pathological voice as against a normal which is a voice with a problem in the larynx. could be also special case of input voice. Of course, but the distortion of a speech signal by environmental effects i.e., noise or transmission channel was a raised problem. we will take up a pathological voices with laryngeal disease which is essential distortion factor in voice. Also, we are to find out the difference of acoustic parameters distribution between normal and pathological voice by a statistical method in our research.

Dental treatment under general anesthesia is considered a good way for behavioral control in disabled patients. General anesthesia for disabled patients sometimes requires difficult airway management. In this case, intra-oral camera is great helpful to intubation. Originally, the intra-oral camera is designed to facilitate diagnosis dental disease. The intra-oral camera is very efficient on intubation. Laryngeal photo taken by Intra-oral camera can be good guide for difficult intubation. In this report, an 11-year-old boy with chromosomal anomaly received dental care under general anesthesia. And he had a potentially difficult airway. We achieved nasotracheal intubation successfully with intra-oral camera.
Extra-anatomic bypass is indicated for the limb salvage of patients with threatened limb loss especially those who have high risk of infection and death after general anesthesia. We did extra-anatomic bypass procedure nineteen times over a seven year, two month period on sixteen patients. Their mean follow up period was 41.3 months. Male to female ratio was 7:1. Major complaints were resting pain[36.8%], claudication[31.6%], cyanosis[15.8%] and ulcerative change[15.8%]. Associated diseases were hypertension, tuberculosis, chronic renal failure, atrial fibrillation, complete heart block and laryngeal cancer. Postoperative patency rates were 76.9% at 1 year, 72.7% at 2 years and 70% at 3 years. Limb salvage rate was 78.9%. Postoperative mortality rate was 10.5%.
For the period from June 1988 to July 1991 we studied 29 patients who were judged to have operable disease before mediastinoscopy on clinical criteria[absence of distant metastases, phrenic or laryngeal nerve paralysis, positive scalene node biopsy, and malignant pleural effusion]. All patients had computed tomography and mediastinoscopy prior to operation. In the present study, the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of CT were 92%, 56%, and 72%, respectively. And the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of mediastinoscopy were 92%, 100%, and 97%, respectively. We concluded that because of the low accuracy of CT, CT cannot replace mediastinoscopy, and routine mediastinoscopy should be performed in preoperative staging of bronchogenic carcinoma.

Verruca vulgaris of the larynx (VVL) is an extremely rare disease that can be easily misdiagnosed as papillary keratosis, squamous papilloma or verrucous carcinoma, which would have led to needless operation. We experienced a case of VVL in a 66-year-old man with 1-year history of progressive hoarseness. Whitish lesions in both vocal cords were observed by using indirect laryngoscopy and completely removed via microlaryngeal surgery with $CO_2$ laser.

Pharyngeal and laryngeal foreign bodies are common problem at ENT clinic. Removal of a foreign body is mostly simple with the manipulation of endoscope and various instruments. Rarely, migration of swallowed sharp foreign body makes complication. We describe a 74-year-old patient diagnosed with foreign body in larynx involving thyroid. In this case, we present this disease and the treatment course which has been successfully treated by surgical removal and conservative treatment. Furthermore, we discuss its symptoms, physical examinations through literature review.
