Hybrid Secondary Voltage Control combined with Large-Scale Wind Farms and Synchronous Generators

  • For stable integration of large-scale wind farms, integration standards (Grid codes) have been proposed by the system operator. In particular, voltage control of large-scale wind farms is gradually becoming important because of the increasing size of individual wind farms. Among the various voltage control methods, Secondary Voltage Control (SVC) is a method that can control the reactive power reserve of a control area uniformly. This paper proposes hybrid SVC when a large-scale wind farm is integrated into the power grid. Using SVC, the burden of a wind turbine converter for generating reactive power can be reduced. To prove the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, a simulation study is carried out for the Jeju system. The proposed strategy can improve the voltage conditions and reactive power reserve with this hybrid SVC.

Frequency Stabilization Method for Grid Integration of Large-scale Centralized Wind Farms via VSC-HVDC Technology

  • This work proposes a control method of frequency stabilization for grid integration of large-scale wind farms via the voltage source converter-based high-voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) technology. First, the topology of grid integration of a large-scale wind farm via the VSC-HVDC link is provided, and simple control strategies for wind turbines, wind farm side VSC (WFVSC), and grid side VSC are presented. Second, a mathematical model between the phase angle of WFVSC and the frequency of the wind farm is established. The control principle of the large-scale wind power integrated system is analyzed in theory in accordance with the mathematical model. Third, frequency and AC voltage controllers of WFVSC are designed based on the mathematical model of the relationships between the phase angle of WFVSC and the frequency of the wind farm, and between the modulation index of WFVSC and the voltage of the wind farm. Corresponding controller structures are established by deriving a transfer function, and an optimization method for selecting the parameters of the frequency controller is presented. Finally, a case study is performed under different operating conditions by using the DIgSILENT/PowerFactory software. Results show that the proposed control method has good performance in the frequency stabilization of the large-scale wind power integrated system via the VSC-HVDC technology.

초대규모 집적 또는 웨이퍼 규모 집적을 이용한 셀룰러 병렬 처리기의 재구현 (Reconfiguration Problems in VLSI and WSI Cellular Arrays)

  • 전형적인 컬퓨터보다 훨씬 강력한 계산 능력을 얻기 위해 병렬 컴퓨터 구조에 대한 많은 연가 진행되어 왔다. 이러한 컴퓨터들은 통상 상호 연결 네트워크(Interconnection Network)로 연결된 많은 수의 처리기들로 구성된다. 그중 중요한 한 부류가 초대규모 집적(Very Large Scale Integration) 또는 웨이퍼규모 집적(Wafer Scale Integration)을 이용한 셀룰러 병렬 처리기로 하나의 칩이나 웨이퍼에 단지 이웃으로만 연결된 많은 수의 단순 조를 가지는 처리기로 구성된다. 이런 셀룰러 병렬 처리기틀에 반드시 수반되는 문제가 재구현(Reconfiguration)으로 세가지 유형을 정의할 수 있는데 본 논문에서는 이 세가지 재구현 문제, 즉 결함 허용 재구현(Fault-Tolerant Reconfiguration), 기능적 재구현(Functional Reconfiguration), 그리고 통합 재구현(Integrated Reconfiguration)에 대하여 논하였다. 본 논문은 결함 진단 및 검출(Fault Detection and Fault Location) 제어 방법, 구성(Configuration) 제어방법, 재구현의 수행 단계 등 결함 허용 재구현과 기능적 재구현시 필요한 여러 고려 사항을 분석 정리하고, 최근 제기된 결함 허용 재구현과 기능적 재구현의 일체화 문제 즉 통합 재구현 문제의 이해에 핵심적인 결할 허용 재구현과 기능적 재구현 사이의 관계를 밝혔으며, 통합 재 구현에 적합한 결할 진단 및 검출 제어 방법과 구성제어 방법에 대하여 논하였다.

대규모 택지개발에 의한 도시확장이 도시 공간구조변화에 미치는 영향분석 - 대전광역시를 대상으로 - (A Study on the Influences of Urban Area Expansion by Developing a Large Scale Residential District on Changes of Urban Spatial Structure - In the Daejeon Metropolitan City -)

  • This study was aimed to analyze the influences of urban expansion by developing a new large scale residential district on changes of whole urban spatial structure. For the analysis, time serial analysis was conducted on the Daejeon Metropolitan City by using the space syntax method. The results of the study are as follows ; First, an expansion of urban area led to lower both of the local and global integration levels, second, the spatial occupation ratio of upper 10% in the whole integration showed that old city center was separated, and moved to the Dunsan District, third, the results also showed that an integration of the old city center region maintained a high level in spite of a movement of city center and its local integration still had highest level so that the old city center will take one of the two city center roles together with Dunsan District.

Integration of a Large-Scale Genetic Analysis Workbench Increases the Accessibility of a High-Performance Pathway-Based Analysis Method

  • The rapid increase in genetic dataset volume has demanded extensive adoption of biological knowledge to reduce the computational complexity, and the biological pathway is one well-known source of such knowledge. In this regard, we have introduced a novel statistical method that enables the pathway-based association study of large-scale genetic dataset-namely, PHARAOH. However, researcher-level application of the PHARAOH method has been limited by a lack of generally used file formats and the absence of various quality control options that are essential to practical analysis. In order to overcome these limitations, we introduce our integration of the PHARAOH method into our recently developed all-in-one workbench. The proposed new PHARAOH program not only supports various de facto standard genetic data formats but also provides many quality control measures and filters based on those measures. We expect that our updated PHARAOH provides advanced accessibility of the pathway-level analysis of large-scale genetic datasets to researchers.

Nanotransfer Printing for Large-Scale Integrated Nanopatterns of Various Single-Crystal Organic Materials

  • The manufacture of organic electronic circuits requires effective heterogeneous integration of different nanoscale organic materials with uniform morphology and crystallinity in a desired arrangement on a substrate. Herein, we present a new direct printing method, which enables monolithic integration of crystalline nanowire arrays with a diverse range of organic materials. In this method, we use a nanoscale patterned soft mold, which contains an assembly of simple nanoline patterns but, in combination with droplet of various organic inks, can produce a large-scale integration of various nanopatterns with multiple kinds of organic materials. The morphology of organic nanowires can controlled by nanoconfinement in nanoline of mold. And mutual alignment of nanopatterns can be controlled by adjusting the ink droplet size, number of droplets, ink deposition locations.

  • VLSI(Very Large Scale Integration)와 WSI(Wafer Scale Integration)와 같은 통합기술로 인해 큰 용량의 메모리 대량생산이 가능 하게 된 지금 Redundancy는 메모리 칩의 제조와 결함이 있는 셀을 지닌 디바이스를 치료하는데 광범위하게 사용되어져왔다. 메모리칩의 밀도가 증가함에 따라 결함의 빈도 또한 증가한다. 많은 결함이 있다면 어쩔 수 없겠지만 적은 결함이 발생한 경우에는 해당 다이를 reject 시키는 것 보다는 수선해서 사용하는 것이 메모리생산 업체 입장에서는 보다 효율적이고 원가 절감 차원에서 필수적이다. 이와 같은 이유로 laser repair라는 공정이 필요하고 laser repair공정의 정확한 타깃을 설정하기 위해 redundancy analysis가 필요하게 되었다. CRA시뮬레이션은 기존의 redundancy analysis 알고리즘의 개념에서 벗어나 결함 유형별로 시뮬레이션한 후 RA를 진행함으로써 RA에 소요되는 시간을 절약함으로써 원가 경쟁력 강화를 할 수 있다.

동적 형상 변경 관리를 지원하는 통합 애플리케이션 프레임워크의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Integration Application Framework Supporting Dynamic Configuration)

  • When we conduct development of a large-size SI project, it is highly necessary to utilize an appropriate application framework which helps to build a qualified software with high productivity in a short period of time. In this paper, we propose the architecture of a dynamically reconfigurable CBD application integration framework that has been used for developing large-scale e-business applications to achieve high development productivity and maintainability. This Integration framework can easily extend its functionalities, and dynamically change its configuration during run time according to the business category, such as applying interaction patterns among main components in software architecture, rules, policies, and environmental parameters. Dynamic reconfiguration has the feature to make applications be easily customized for changeable requirements. Through our application integration framework, huge sizes of contents can be managed according to the business category as well, by keeping configuration informations and huge volumes of source codes. In order to evaluate out application integration framework in terms of performance criteria, we present experimental results of throughputs from the framework by yielding dynamic configuration without any performance degradation.
