한국 근해 쌍끌이 대형기선저인망어선의 규모별 효율성과 어회능력 활용도 평가 (Scale Efficiency and Fishing Capacity Analysis for Large Pair-Trawl Vessels in Korean Waters)

  • To propose proper vessel characteristics for sustainable fisheries in Korean waters, we analyzed the fishing capacity, scale efficiency and utilization of large pair-trawl vessels based on the database of catch, effort and vessel characteristics (gross tonnage and engine power) in 1990 by applying data envelopment analysis (DEA). The input factors were gross tonnage, horse power and days operated; whereas the output factor was expected catch by vessel characteristics. The optimal vessel types, selected based on the input-oriented technical efficiency and gross tonnages, was 100 GT with engine power <600 HP. The output-oriented unbiased estimate of capacity utilization (CD) decreased with increasing vessel tonnage. For the same tonnage vessels, the CD decreased with increasing engine power.

거대선의 정의에 관한 고찰 (On the Definition of the Large Vessel)

  • 해사안전법에서는 거대선을 전장 200m 이상의 선박으로 정의하고 있다. 이 기준은 1986년에 도입된 이후, 선박이 대형화되는 등 해상교통환경이 큰 폭으로 변화하였음에도 개정되지 않고 있다. 전장 200m는 건화물선의 경우 핸디막스급에 해당하여 현대 선박의 크기 분류에서는 대형선박으로 보기 어렵다. 한편, 해사안전법에서 거대선이란 용어가 적용되는 조항은 교통안전특정해역에 관한 조항으로, 거대선의 통항이 잦을 해역을 교통안전특정해역으로 설정할 수 있도록 하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 해사관련 법령을 검토하여 이미 전장 200m 이상 선박보다 큰 선박에 대한 법령이 도입되어 있음을 조사하였다. 또한, 국내 각 항만의 입항 선박 통계를 조사하여 현 다섯 구역의 교통안전특정해역보다 거대선의 통항이 많은 해역이 존재함을 확인하였다. 따라서, 본 연구의 결론으로 해사안전법에서 거대선 관련 조항 삭제 및 교통안전특정해역으로 설정할 수 있는 통항 선박의 전장 기준을 상향할 것을 개선방안으로 제시하였다.

  • In the nuclear power plant, there are several cylindrical vessels such as reactor vessel, pressuriser and so on. The vessels are usually constructed by welding large rolled plates, forged sections or nozzle pipes together. In order to assure the integrity of the vessel, these welds should be periodically inspected using sensors such as ultrasonic transducer or visual cameras. This inspection is usually conducted under water to minimize exposure to the radioactively contaminated vessel walls. The inspections have been performed by using a conventional inspection machine with a big structural sturdy column, however, it is so huge and heavy that maintenance and handling of the machine are extremely difficult. It requires much effort to transport the system to the site and also requires continuous use of the utility's polar crane to move the manipulator into the building and then onto the vessel. Setup beside the vessel requires a large volume of work preparation area and several shifts to complete. In order to resolve these problems, we have developed an underwater mobile robot guided by the laser pointer, and performed a series of experiments both in the mockup and in the real reactor vessel. This paper introduces our robotic inspection system and the laser guidance of the mobile robot as well as the results of the functional test.

부산항 콘테이너부두에 대형 콘테이너선의 안전접안조종을 위한 연구 (A study on the method of conducting a large container vessel safely to the newly built container pier to get alongside in busan harbour)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 부산항에 입항하는 대형 콘테이너 선박의 안전 접안 조종을 위한 한계풍속을 설정하는데 있다. 계산결과, 정상풍속 13.5m/sec 이하의 바람에서는 예선 4500H.P.의 Z. peller 2척을 이용하여 안전 접안 조선하는데 큰 위험이 없음을 알았다. 그러나 돌풍율 25%를 포함한 강풍 16.9m/sec 이상의 기상상태에서는 선박조종이 위험하게 됨을 알았고, 돌풍율을 포함하여 풍속이 16.9m/sec 에 달하는 강풍하에서 대형 콘테이너 선박을 부득이 접안 조종할 때는 4500 H.P.Z. peller 3척으로 조선보조를 받아야 함을 알았다.

  • This paper presents the analysis of the speed-power performance in the real sea using a large container vessel data provided as a test bed from a shipping company. To perform a speed trial of the vessel during a commercial voyage, the on-board measuring device and various operation data acquisition systems were mounted on the vessel for long-term performance monitoring and the voyage operated under the container loading condition close to the design draft was adopted. The content of this paper consists of Part I and Part II. Part I, such as this paper, contains the speed trial method and analysis results of the operating vessel. Part II contains the analysis of the speed-power characteristics change over time and before and after hull cleaning using operation data measured from the voyage operated under a condition similar to the speed trial.

Computational Study of the Mixed Cooling Effects on the In-Vessel Retention of a Molten Pool in a Nuclear Reactor

  • The retention of a molten pool vessel cooled by internal vessel reflooding and/or external vessel reactor cavity flooding has been considered as one of severe accident management strategies. The present numerical study investigates the effect of both internal and external vessel mixed cooling on an internally heated molten pool. The molten pool is confined in a hemispherical vessel with reference to the thermal behavior of the vessel wall. In this study, our numerical model used a scaled-down reactor vessel of a KSNP (Korea Standard Nuclear Power) reactor design of 1000 MWe (a Pressurized Water Reactor with a large and dry containment). Well-known temperature-dependent boiling heat transfer curves are applied to the internal and external vessel cooling boundaries. Radiative heat transfer has been considered in the case of dry internal vessel boundary condition. Computational results show that the external cooling vessel boundary conditions have better effectiveness than internal vessel cooling in the retention of the melt pool vessel failure.

Head forgings have been made by open die forging process. After steel melting and ingot making, open die forging has been carried out to get a good quality which means high soundness and homogeniety of the steel forgings by using high capacity hydraulic press. This paper introduced the open die forging process and manufacturing experience of large head forgings which can be used for the reactor vessel of 1,000MW nuclear power plant.

  • The paper is concerned with the process design and the die design for manufacturing the preform of a large pressure vessel. The cold-working processes are introduced to improve the fatigue strength and to simplify the manufacturing process. By the finite element simulation, the parameter design is carried out, which is subjected to constraints such as the blank sire, press capacity and other minor limitations. The proposed design results are verified by the model experiments, in which the model is scaled down to one tenth of the original size.
