  • Generally estimation of driving direction uses the way which uses lane detection and vanishing point in autonomous-driving system. Especially we use Sub-window for decreasing Process time when we detect lane, but fixed sub-window can not detect lane because of some factors in road image. So we suggest algorithm using one-dimension line scan method to detect an exact position of lane.

  • This paper proposes an effective lane detection algorithm using hugh transform and lane model. The proposed lane detection algorithm includes two major components, i.e., lane marks segmentation and an exact lane extraction using a novel postprocessing technique. The first step is to segment lane marks from background images using HSV color model. Then, a novel postprocessing is used to detect an exact lane using Hugh transform and lane models(linear and curved lane models). The postprocessing consists of three parts, i.e, thinning process, Hugh Transform and filtering process. We divide input image into three regions of interests(ROIs). Based on lane curve function(LCF), we can detect an exact lane from various extracted lane lines. The lane models(linear and curved lane mode]) are used in order to judge whether each lane segment is fit or not in each ROIs. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is very effective in lane detection.

  • Recently, for development of hardware systems, it has been comercially developed for lane detection system of assistive funtion to drivers. There are so many driving systems that is capable of detecting lane for ideal environment like quite visible lane and sweep curve just like highway, but these kinds of system are hard to apply for self driving system because it is difficult to detect lane in dynamic environment, which have rapid curve or only one sided lane For this paper, we proposed intelligent driving system that is able to detect the lane in case of rapid curve by labeling, or one sided lane by lane prediction. based on experimental results, we prove our lane detection system is able to detect lane not only in ideal environment, but also environment which have rapid curve or one sided lane.

  • This paper presents a multi-label lane detection method for autonomous vehicles based on deep learning. The proposed algorithm can detect two types of lanes: center lane and normal lane. The algorithm uses a convolution neural network with an encoder-decoder architecture to extract features from input images and produce a multi-label heatmap for predicting lane's label. This architecture has the potential to detect more diverse types of lanes in that it can add the number of labels by extending the heatmap's dimension. The proposed algorithm was tested on an OpenLane dataset and achieved 85 Frames Per Second (FPS) in end to-end inference time. The results demonstrate the usability and computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm for the lane detection in autonomous vehicles.

  • In this paper, we propose the method of lane and obstacle detection using edge and horizontal projection. we convert color image to gray image and detect edge. After lane detection using edge, we detect the obstacle using horizontal projection in the region of lane. The simulation shows that our method is able to detect lane and obstacle in the place of monotonous light.

  • This paper describes how a priori road geometry and its estimation may be used to detect road boundaries and lane markings in road scene images. We assume flat road and road boundaries and lane markings are all Bertrand curves which have common principal normal vectors. An active contour is used for the detection of road boundary, and we reconstruct its geometric property and make use of it to detect lane markings. Our approach to detect road boundary is based on minimizing energy function including edge related term and geometric constraint term. Lane position is estimated by pixel intensity statistics along the parallel curve shifted properly from boundary of the road. We will show the validity of our algorithm by processing real road images.

  • An improved inverse perspective mapping (IIPM) is proposed so as to reduce computational expense of recovery of 3D road surface. An experimental system based on IIPM is developed to detect lane parameters for a driver assistant system. A re-organized image is obtained quickly and exactly by IIPM. Efficient preprocessing techniques are used to enhance the information of lane and obstacles. Lane in the preprocessed. image is located with region identification. Lane parameters are estimated effectively. An algorithm to adaptively modify the parameters of IIPM is given. Properties of obstacle on 3D road surface are discussed and used to detect obstacles in the current lane and neighboring lanes. Experimental results show that the new method can extract lane state information effectively.

  • According as vehicles increases, system such as Advanced Drivers Assistance System(ADAS ) to inform forward situation to driver is required. In this paper, we proposes method to detect forward vehicles and lane from sequential color images by basis process to inform forward situation to driver. We detect a front vehicle using that shadow area exists on part under vehicles and that road area occupies many parts even if road traffic is confused. We detect lane information using that lane part is white order by reverse characteristic of shadow area. This method shows good result in case road is confused or there is direction indication to road. HSV color space is selected for color modeling. This method uses saturation component and value component in HSV color model to detect vehicles and lane. It uses statistics features of HSV component and position to know whether detected vehicles area is vehicles such as vehicles previous frame. To verify the effects of the proposed method, we capture the road images with notebook and CCD camera for PC and Present the results such as processing time, accuracy and vehicles detection against the images.

  • Lane detection methods using camera, which are part of the driver assistance system, have been developed due to the growth of the vehicle technologies. However, lane detection methods are often failed by varying road conditions such as rainy weather and degraded lanes. This paper proposes a method for lane detection which is robust in varying road condition. Lane candidates are extracted by intensity comparison and lane detection filter. Hough transform is applied to compute the lane pair using lane candidates which is straight line in image. Then, a curved lane is calculated by using B-Snake algorithm. Also, weighting value is computed using previous lane detection result to detect the lanes even in varying road conditions such as degraded/missed lanes. Experimental results proved that the proposed method can detect the lane even in challenging road conditions because of weighting process.

  • Autonomous Lane detection with vision is a difficult problem because of various road conditions, such as shadowy road surface, various light conditions, and the signs on the road. In this paper we propose a robust lane detection algorithm to overcome shadowy road problem using a statistical method. The algorithm is applied to the vision-based mobile robot system and the robot followed the lane with the lane following controller. In parallel with the lane following controller, the global position of the robot is estimated by the developed localization method to specify the locations where the lane is discontinued. The results of experiments, done in the region where the GPS measurement is unreliable, show good performance to detect and to follow the lane in complex conditions with shades, water marks, and so on.
