The domastic hard shoulder running(HSR) System has been gradually expanding since its initial implementation in September 2007 with the aim of increasing capacity and resolving congestion. Hard Shoulder is used as a space for driver's visual comfort and a place for vehicles to evacuate in case of emergency, but it is replaced by a space for driving when the HSR System is implemented. Therefore, it was intended to determine the improvement effect before and after implementation of the HSR system through safety analysis and mobility analysis. The safety analysis analyzed the impact of traffic accidents by comparing HSR sections and similar sections. The mobility analysis was to determine the improvement effect by quantifying the speed and traffic volume changes before and after HSR System implementation. According to safety yanalysis, there is no effect of reducing traffic accidents when implementing the HSR System. In mobility analysis, the implementation of the HSR System significantly improved the speed of traffic during peak hours and significantly reduces slow and delay hours.

In this paper, we examine Asymmetric Multi-Processing Environment to provide LDW service. Asymmetric Multi-Processing Environment consists of high-speed MCU to support rapid image processing and low-speed MCU for controlling with other ECU at the control domain. Also we designed rapid image process application and LDW application Software Component(SW-C) according to the development process rule of AUTOSAR. To communicate between two MCUs, timer based polling based IPC was designed. Also to communicate with other ECUs(Electronic Control Units), we designed CAN messages to provide alarm information and receiving CAN message to catch the Turn signal. We confirm the possibility of the various ADAS development using an Asymmetric Multi-Processing Environment and AUTOSAR platform. We also expect providing ISO 26262 functional safety.

LED is low power and pro-environment semiconductor element. That can be used not only as the lighting function but also for Visible Light Communication(VLC). The VLC is the communication technology that can send data by blinking a fluorescent or LED using visible spectrum. That velocity of blinking can not be usually recognized by eyesight. Visible Light Communication using LED can be used in many fields. In the field of ITS(Intelligent Transportation System), Under construction on the road, Emitting traffic signs can be applied to transfer the vehicle information. In this paper, Emitting traffic signs in addition to the VLC give information about road condition, safety distance and the lane change. We design Communication protocol to provide safety service and verify protocol by experiment.

Seoul metropolitan government has been operating traffic signal control system with the name of COSMOS since 2001. COSMOS uses the degrees of saturation and congestion which are calculated by installing loop detectors. At present, inductive loop detector is generally used for detecting vehicles but it is inconvenient and costly for maintenance since it is buried on the road. In addition, the estimated queue length might be influenced in case of error occurred in measuring speed, because it only uses the speed of vehicles passing by the detector. A traffic signal control algorithm which enables smooth traffic flow at intersection is proposed. The proposed algorithm assigns vehicles to the group of each lane and calculates traffic volume and congestion degree using traffic information of each group using VANETs(Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks) inter-vehicle communication. It does not demand additional devices installation such as cameras, sensors or image processing units. In this paper, the algorithm we suggest is verified for AJWT(Average Junction Waiting Time) and TQL(Total Queue Length) under single intersection model based on GLD(Green Light District) Simulator. And the result is better than Random control method and Best first control method. In case real-time control method with VANETs is generalized, this research that suggests the technology of traffic control in signalized intersections using wireless communication will be highly useful.

Young Jong Grand Bridge is approach traffic road of New Inchon International Airport which covers hub airport function in northeast asia. The total span length of this bridge is $4,420{\cal}m$ and this main bridge type is, the first in the world, Double Deck Self Anchored Suspension Bridge, designed as double deck systems to be arranged by road and railroad. Approach bridges to be connected with main span also are composed double deck steel truss and steel box girder to consider a continuity with this span. Our company erected $1,375{\cal}m$(about 60,000tons) of double deck steel truss bridge type which is composed by 6 traffic lane on upper deck and 4 traffic lane and Double track railroad on lower deck. The original installation method of this bridge was planed to install about 75 meters bridge blocks to use floating crane, after temporary bent was constructed between permanent piers. But this method which had to construct many temporary bents in the sea had the matter that construction periods can become lengthen and construction cost can be risen. To overcome the uncertainty to ensure high qualify of bridge and economic project execution, our company developed new bridge erection method to assure both quality control and economic construction work. The new erection method which was developed by us was one that could transport and install long bridge block, $120{\cal}m$ unit at a time and that temporary bent was not required. We hope that this paper is used as technical data which will erect bridge in the western sea and others marine region.

Since 2009 The Korean National Police Agency has been pushed "permissive left-turn" forward in order to making progress in Korean traffic operations system. Preceding researches manuals and guidelines present 6 standards(# of accidents # of lanes, pedestrian volume sight # of permissive left-turn lanes vehicle volume) as installation permissive left-turn. But in practical affairs it is most important that secure enough Gap-time between permissive left-turn vehicle and opposite through lane vehicle to make permissive left-turn vehicle move safer and more efficiently. This study suggests applying gap acceptance theory in microscopic model to permissive left-turn installation standards. Analysis methods of this study are field data survey statistical analysis and microscopic simulation analysis. This study collected field data by using AVI recording and measured permissive left-turn vehicle intersection passing time(T1) and against the opposite through lane vehicle Gap-time(T2). And statistical analysis performed about two values that measured before to predict the functionality between T1 and T2. These studies to overcome the limit of sample size carried out a microscopic simulation(VISSIM) plan and collect more samples to input statistical analysis.
Considering the high density developments along the major traffic corridors in Seoul, transit-oriented street designs will be a very effective to control traffic congestion along the corridors. For testing the effectiveness, we selected. for our case study, Kangnam Street, which is one of the most highly developed corridors in Seoul The traffic study on Kangnam street in 2000 shows that the daily average bus speed is 11.73km/h, which is 5km/h lower than the auto speed. The Central Bus Lane system was applied on the Kangnam street to test impact on bus speed as well as auto speed. Simulation results show that with Central Bus Lane have been improved the travel speeds of bus as well as auto on Kangnam street from 14.4km/hr to 35.0km/hr and from 25.1km/hr to 26.1km/hr, respectively. The bus market share increases about 6-8 percentages. Especially, 13.4% of bus users are increased for long-distance trips.

WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments) is a representative V2V communication protocol and its standards of MAC and PHY parts except for security were published. In order to control traffic flow and ensure driver's safety using V2V communication, various projects are conducting. In particular, safety application has been researched. Therefore, in this paper, we designed the safety application algorithm, which informs a driver of the dangerous status when driver tries to turn left in an intersection and we also implemented the algorithm. Proposed algorithm configures a model for a host vehicle and a vehicle coming in opposite lane and in case that there is collision hazard it provides warning message to driver by using HMI. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm's performance, we configured the test bed using test vehicles and we tested the algorithm on proving ground with the composed test scenarios. As test results, our system showed excellent performance. If the infrastructures for V2I communications are constructed, we will optimize our system more precisely and stably.

In this paper, we use a LiDAR sensor and an image camera to detect a left-turning waiting vehicle in two ways, unlike the existing image-type or loop-type left-turn detection system, and a left-turn traffic signal corresponding to the waiting length of the left-turning lane. A system that can efficiently assign a system is introduced. For the LiDAR signal transmitted and received by the LiDAR sensor, the left-turn waiting vehicle is detected in real time, and the image by the video camera is analyzed in real time or at regular intervals, thereby reducing unnecessary computational processing and enabling real-time sensitive processing. As a result of performing a performance test for 5 hours every day for one week with an intersection simulation using an actual signal processor, a detection rate of 99.9%, which was improved by 3% to 5% compared to the existing method, was recorded. The advantage is that 99.9% of vehicles waiting to turn left are detected by the LiDAR sensor, and even if an intentional omission of detection occurs, an immediate response is possible through self-correction using the video, so the excessive waiting time of vehicles waiting to turn left is controlled by all lanes in the intersection. was able to guide the flow of traffic smoothly. In addition, when applied to an intersection in the outskirts of which left-turning vehicles are rare, service reliability and efficiency can be improved by reducing unnecessary signal costs.
In this paper, we suggest a novel physics-based real-time animation technique for vehicles, and introduce an easy and intuitive animation authoring tool which uses our proposed technique. After a user specifies a trajectory of a virtual car as input, our system produces a more accurate simulation faster than a previous research result. This is achieved by a trajectory splitting method based on directional features and a trajectory library. As a result, the user can create not only a car animation including lane changing and passing, but also a crash animation which is a rarely researched topic. Also, we propose a virtual car structure that approximates a real car's structure for real-time simulation, the resulting animation shows high plausibility such as a small vibration which occurs when the virtual car breaks and a deformation of when a car accident happens.
