  • This paper presents a new method to reducing inrush current and energy saving of capacitor starting single-phase induction motor used in air-conditioner. It can be obtained that proposed system is low cost and small size as compared with other controller. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single-phase induction motor. The optimal power saving and in-rush current limiting by phase angle control are verified by experimental results. Also, auxiliary winding was controlled by electronic starting switch.

  • Phase angle control ac drives system gains a high popularity due to their simple implementation despite the disadvantage of their poor input power factor especially for large values of phase delay angle. Furthermore it generates subharmononic current at specific phase angle. As input current of do drive systems are sinusoidal, the power factor and subharmonic current characteristics are improve. This paper presents the application of a PWM control technique of do chopper system to reduce the subharmonic current and its characteristics using single-phase dc chopper drive system of universal motor.

  • Narrowband active noise control (ANC) techniques to reduce the noise in thermal power plant are considered. To reduce the computational burden of the ANC system, an adjoint LMS algorithm instead of a filteredx LMS algorithm is used for adaptive filters. The square wave signal is used for the reference signal of adaptive filters to reduce the higher order harmonics as well as the fundamental frequency of noise. A computer simulation has done to show the effectiveness of a proposed algorithm.

  • Benzopyrene is known to be one of the most powerful carcinogens which can build intercalated motif between base pairs in damaged DNA. The dimension of benzopyrene itself is much bigger than any of the DNA bases and thus the question whether the lesion of some base pair by insertion of benzopyrene can happen with or without a dramatic distortion of the helical structure is a highly interesting theme. In this work we used a molecular mechanics simulation using AMBER program package to go into the conformational characteristics. The condition of the insertion process of the benzopyrene motif from minor groove of the starting structure between the base pairs in the internal area of double helix was investigated using the molecular dynamics simulation at elevated temperature.

  • Some of the benzopyrene (BP)-DNA adduct are known to build intercalated motif between flanking base pairs in damaged DNA depending on the structural condition. The size of benzopyrene itself is definitely not comparable with any of the DNA bases and thus the question whether the lesion of some base pair by insertion of benzopyrene can happen with or without a dramatic distortion of the helical structure is a highly interesting theme. In this work we used a molecular dynamics simulation based on the theory of molecular mechanics. The specific consequences about the structural properties of the intercalated structures and benzopyrene motif in minor groove of the double helix are deduced after 5 ns simulation time.

  • The conventional hysterysis band DTC(Direct Torque Control) strategy have relatively high torque ripple at low speed and variable switching frequency according to motor speed even though it provides a fast torque response with very simple scheme consisted with only two hysteresis band comparators and a switching table for torque and flux control. In this paper, author proposed a new DTC scheme based on the torque slope and reference voltage control. The new scheme can maintain the minimized torque ripple and constant switching frequency. Experimental tests carried out with an 1.5kW induction motor drive system show improved dynamic characteristics and prove the feasibility of proposed strategy.

  • Recently, a growing demands on electricity require a high performance and reliable operation in the area of protection, control and monitoring of power plants and substations which may not provides with conventional systems. This paper describes a novel IDPACS (Integrated Digital Protection And Control System) in which we integrate all protection, control and monitoring function of the substations. The simulation results show that the proposed system provides fast response and reliable operation of power plant with superb performance on protection and control system.

  • This paper presents compression algorithm of a system matrix for electromagnetic analysis by the finite element method. Generally the solution of the finite element analysis is the more accurate the more number of nodes. The memory of a computer limit to number of nodes. Therefore it is needed the technique of compress the system matrix. This algorithm is useful to handle non-zero-terms that can be generated during the application of boundary condition.

  • 강원도는 2018 년 동계올림픽 유치 및 USN 산업 활성화를 목표로 도내에서 u-스포츠 사업을 활발하게 진행 중에 있다. 이 사업의 일환으로 2008 년 CDMA 망을 기반으로 한 무선 구간기록 측정 시스템이 용평 스키장에 이미 설치된 바 있다. 이 연구에서는 기 설치된 CDMA 망 기반 무선 구간 기록 측정 시스템을 USN 기반으로 전환시켜 구현하고 평가한다. 평가 결과 구간 기록의 측정 오차가 2.6ms에서 700us로 현저하게 개선되었다.
