In this study, The underwater object recognition using ultrasonic sensor fabricated with porous PZT-Polymer 3-3 type composites and invariant moment vector and SOFM(Self Organizing Feature Map) neural networks are presented. The recognition rates for the training data and the testing data were 98% and 94%, respectively.

A numerical scheme is proposed to obtain the individual stress intensity factors in an axisymmetric crack and in a three dimensional mixed mode crack. The method is based on the path independence of J and M integral and mutual or two-state conservation integral , which involves two elastic fields. Some numerical example are presented to investigate the effectiveness and applicability of the method for and axisymmetric crack and a three dimensional penny shaped crack problem under mixed mode.

A bacterial disease of rice plant that rotted the sheath to brown was found in rice plants at Tanbuk Uisong Kyungbuk in June 1999, When the bacterial isolates from the diseased rice plants were inoculated to health plant by the artificial needle prick method the same symptoms were examined. According to its characteristics and pathogenicity on the his plant the causal bacterium was identified as Burkholderia glumae which is known as the pathogen of bacterial grain rot of rice.

In this paper, we present a design and experiment study of high power large diameter backward wave oscillator. Analysis is made within the scope of linear theory of absolute instibility. The Electron beam generator may be atteractive source of high power millimeter microwaves which has simpler structure.

This paper a new method which applies a genetic algorithm for determining which sectionalizing switch to operate in order to solve the distribution system loss minimization re-configuration problem. In addition, the proposed method introduces a ultra efficient MPP tracking in a solar power generation system.

In this paper, we consider a renewal process in which both the inter-arrival times and rewards are fuzzy random variables. We prove the uniform levelwise convergence of fuzzy renewal and fuzzy renewal rewards. These results improve the result of Popova and Wu[European J. Oper. Research 117(1999), 606-617] and the main result of Hwang [Fuzzy Sets and Systems 116 (2000), 237-244].

We consider two estimators of the infection rate in the simple stochastic epidemic model. It is shown that the maximum likelihood estimator of teh infection rate under the discrete time observation does not have the moment of any positive order. Some properties of the Choi-Severo estimator, an approximation to the maximum likelihood estimator, are also investigated.

A New path planning using modified DT(distance transform) algorithm for a remote mobile robot is proposed. The weakness of DT algorithm is that the generated path is not the best path of all possible paths. Modified DT algorithm proposed can compensate for the weakness of DT algorithm, but the operating time of the proposed is longer than that of DT algorithm.
