  • In this paper we propose support vector quantile regression (SVQR) for randomly right censored data. The proposed procedure basically utilizes iterative method based on the empirical distribution functions of the censored times and the sample quantiles of the observed variables, and applies support vector regression for the estimation of the quantile function. Experimental results we then presented to indicate the performance of the proposed procedure.

  • New drying method was tested for the Quality control for Kwamegl, dry Pacific saucy(Cololahis saira) In east coast area of Kyungbuk province, Korea. Cholesterol content of raw fish was 56% on dry basis, and decreased to 50.82 mg% rapidly the first 3 day and then, it was almost unchanged. However, the cholesterol content decreased slowly to 52.3 mg% during 15 days in new artificial drying.

  • In this paper we present the shrunken testing estimator for the variance of normal population and we find the condition that can be used in seeking the situations in which the proposed estimator is superior to the minimum variance unbiased estimator.

  • In discriminant analysis the procedures commonly used to estimate the dimensionality involve testing a sequence of dimensionality hypotheses. There is a problem with the size of the test since dimensionality hypotheses are tested sequentially and thus they are actually conditional tests. The focus of this paper is to investigate in asymptotic sense what happens to the sequential testing procedure if the assumption of normality does not hold.

  • Sums of independent random variables $S_n = X_1 + X_ + cdots + X_n$ are considered, where the X$_{n}$ are chosen according to a stationary process of distributions. Given the time t .geq. O, let N (t) be the number of indices n for which O < $S_n$ $\geq$ t. In this set up we prove that N (t)/t converges almost surely and in $L^1$ as t longrightarrow $\infty$, which generalizes classical renewal theorem.m.

  • Let ${X_n}$ be conditionally i.i.d. given $g \subset \sigma(X_n, n \geq 1)$. We will prove that $g$ is degenerate if and only if ${X_n, n \geq 1}$ are i.i.d. random variable(r.v.s). As a corollary the Hewitt-Savage zero-one law is obtained using the fact that interchageable process is conditionally i.i.d. given the $\sigma$-algebra of permutable events.

  • Some exponential moment inequalities for sub-gaussian random variables are studied in this paper. These inequalities are used to obtain laws of large numbers for random variable and random elements in $L^1(R)$.

  • We prove a conjecture of Yu. V. Prokhorov in general Banach Spaces ; let ($X_n$, n$\geq$1} be a sequence of independent identically and symmetrically distributed Banach valued random variables, then the relation $\mid$$\mid$$S_n$$\mid$$\mid$/$b_n$ -> 1 a.s. cannot hold for any choice of constants $b_n$.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the neiboring environment in the internal and external university campuses. For this purpose, survey to 567 students in 7 universities in Daegu-Kyungbuk area. According to the changes of location pattern of campuses, the external facilities are play a role to help the function of internal facilities, and to accommodate the daily life of students. Therefore this study plan to find out their satisfaction and need of the neiboring facilities.
