Objectives: This case report presents the management of a paralytic ileus patient who was diagnosed with Soyangin. Methods: The patient was treated with Korean herbal medicine (Jihwangbaekho-tang, Hyeongbangsabaek-san, Ganghwajihwang-tang), acupuncture, and moxibustion therapy. Results: After undergoing Korean medical treatment, the patient's complaints of symptoms such as constipation, dyspepsia, anorexia decreased and improvements were shown on X-ray. Conclusions: This case report shows that Korean medical treatment is effective for treating paralytic ileus.

This study develops Korean Style Loungewear as a cultural fashion product. Through the use of surveys, Korean sentiments about Korean traditional clothing and Korean style fashion have been examined. The survey was conducted for 5,000 people in Korea; 3,500 responses of meaningful data were statistically analyzed. The data was processed by a SAS system; frequency and percentage were performed. It was found that Korean people have a high preference for Korean traditional clothing; however, they are not satisfied with its comfort, maintenance, or price. They answered that they would wear Korean style fashion if the design, comfort, and price were improved. They responded positively on the development of Korean Style Loungewear and its effectiveness as a cultural product. Based on the survey and basic geometric structures of Korean traditional costumes, silhouette designs of Loungewear have been developed. The designs are divided into one-piece styles and two-piece styles. The characteristic design details are git (Korean neckline) and goreum (Korean tie ribbon). The results have been shown on the "Han Style Fashion Show" by Jeonju City and exhibited in the "Seoul Living Design Fair" and the "International Art & Craft Trend Fair" in COEX, Seoul.

Objectives : The purpose of this case is to investigate the effect of Korean Medicine on a patient who was suspected osteitis pubis. Methods : The patient was treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, cupping therapy and physical therapy. We evaluated the results of the treatment by Hughes Scale and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Results : After treatment, the patient's symptoms were improved. Conclusions : These results show us that Korean medicine has effect on a patient who was suspected osteitis pubis.

This study was performed to report the effect of coffee enema among detoxification Therapy on atherosclerosis. Russian patient was treated by coffee enema, acupuncture, herbal medicines, exercise, cupping, korean physical therapy, chuna manipulation treatment and moxibustion. The state of patient was measured by Infrared Thermography, Blood Vessel Stasis Test and Minnesota Nicotine Withdrawal Scale. After treatments, both feet temperature were increased. And index of indicating the occlusion of the lower body was improved. Also, Minnesota Nicotine Withdrawal Scale scores were improved. It means the patient was successful at non-smoking during hospitalization. These results suggests that atherosclerosis was improved. According to above results, coffee enema was effective to improve the atherosclerosis. More studies should be followed.

The objective of this study is to propose a Korean medical rehabilitation protocol for total knee replacement (TKR) and to report its effectiveness. This study was conducted as a retrospective study which analyzes the medical records of 4 patients undergoing Korean medical rehabilitation with protocol and continuous passive motion exercise for more than two weeks after TKR. We evaluated the outcome checking physical examination findings of the knee joint, numeric rating scale (NRS), Lysholm knee score (LKS) and walking state. After the treatment, we observed that the function of knee joint, NRS, LKS, walking state of patients were improved. This study showed that Korean medical rehabilitation protocol has effect on knee joint recovery after TKR. The limitation of this study was the insufficient number of cases and short-term follow up. Further studies should be done steadily to report the effectiveness of a Korean Medical rehabilitation protocol for TKR.

The objective of this study is to report the effects of complex Korean Medicine treatment for 2 patients who had cervical spine fracture casued by traffic accident. We used acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, moxibustion and herbal medicine to treat patients with cervical spine fracture. We observed the changes of pain by Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Neck Disability Index(NDI) and EuroQol-5 Dimension Index(EQ-5D Index). After complex Korean Medicine treatment, we found that neck pain was reduced and quality of life were improved by NRS, NDI and EQ-5D Index. Complex Korean Medicine could be effective for patients with cervical spine fracture caused by traffic accident.

The purpose of this study is to acoustically analyze eight Korean monophthongs produced by 29 Taiwanese learners of Korean and 20 native speakers of Korean, and to compare their pronunciations in experimental phonetics. Using the first formants(F1) and the second formants(F2) of Korean monophthongs, we can estimate the tongue positions of vowels produced by participants. In order to compare them directly, we had to normalize participants' F1 and F2. The result shows that almost all vowels of the Taiwanese learners are significantly different from those of Korean native speakers in their F1 and F2 values without the /ㅏ/ vowel. In particular, when pronouncing Korean monophthongs, the Korean learners of Taiwan had a narrow area of the place of articulation compared to the Korean native speakers except for back vowels. Finally, it shows that the Korean learners in Taiwan had a narrower range of articulation and articulated the vowels towards the back a little comparing to the Korean native speakers.

This study aims to investigate factors that are important for Korean language faculty and learners in Thai universities with focus on factors that constitute characteristics of desirable Korean language teachers. This study also analyzes the difference in perception between the faculty and learners to enhance the qualities of Korean language teachers in Thailand. The demand for Korean language learners is explosive in Thailand as Korean language has been adopted as a college entrance examination subject since the 2018 school year. As a result, the Thai government has increased the number of Korean language education institutions to reflect the rapidly increasing demand of Korean language learners, but Korean language education in Thailand has only achieved quantitative growth and has made little in the way of qualitative growth. In this respect, it is meaningful to compare the qualities of the Korean language teachers in the Korean language faculty of Thai universities with the qualities that learners perceive Korean language teachers should have, which ultimately can enhance the quality of Thai Korean language teachers and help the learners to learn more effectively.

Objective : We report the effects of Korean medical treatment for Verruca Plana. Methods : We used herbal treatment, acupuncture, herbal acupuncture. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we observed the patient's condition and photographed. Results : After Korean medical treatment, the patient's warts remarkably disappeared and there was no recurrence. Conclusion : We suggest that Verruca Plana can be treated by Korean medical treatment effectively. We expect these study results help provide useful evidence of Korean medicine as an effective treatment for Verruca Plana.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment on ruptured ovarian cyst. Methods: The patient diagnosed with ruptured ovarian cyst was treated with Korean medicine treatment during 10 days of hospitalization. The patient received Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion. The effect of treatment on ruptured ovarian cyst was evaluated through the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and Ultrasound. Result: After the treatment, the clinical symptoms of abdominal pain and fatigue were improved. Also, on transvaginal ultrasound, bleeding was almost absorbed. Conclusions: This case report proved that the Korean medicine treatment may be effective for improving clinical symptoms after ovarian cyst ruptured. However, further clinical study is needed in the furture to prove the effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment for ruptured ovarian cyst.
