Information retrieval must be able to search the most suitable document that user need from document set. If foretell document adaptedness by similarity degree about QL(Query Language) of document, documents that search person does not require are searched. In this paper, showed that can search the most suitable document on user's request searching document of the whole space using genetic algorithm and used knowledge-base operator to solve various model's problem.

A robust and reliable learning and reasoning mechanism is addressed based upon fuzzy set theory and fuzzy associative memories. The mechanism stores a priori an initial knowledge base via approximate learning and utilizes this information for decision-making systems via fuzzy inferencing. We called this fuzzy computer architecture a 'fuzzy hypercube' processing all the rules in one clock period in parallel. Fuzzy hypercubes can be applied to control of a class of complex and highly nonlinear systems which suffer from vagueness uncertainty. Moreover, evidential aspects of a fuzzy hypercube are treated to assess the degree of certainty or reliability together with parameter sensitivity.

This paper explores ways to develop efficient methods to construct the web-based interior design database based on hypermedia technology. First the role of hypermedia in design was investigated. We propose the structure of knowledge representation for interior design works. Also, we discuss how a design case can be retrieved from the design database. This paper also identified further research issues such as design case retrieval from numerous design cases and components of the virtual design studio.

Wind speed and wind direction are usually taken using two parameters: wind speed and wind direction. This paper studies the average wind speed and direction calculation methods. The paper first introduces to basic wind's knowledge, and then presents several methods in calculating average wind speed and direction. Lastly some graphs are plotted base on these computational methods and the implementation of these methods in an actual buoy system.

정보화사회에서 효율적인 정보검색(information retrieval)은 각종 의사결정에 매우 중요하다. 주어진 정보검색 문제가 있을 때 과거에 검색되었던 자료는 그 적절성 여부에 대한 평가를 데이터베이스에 첨가하여 지식베이스(knowledge base)화 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 이 지식베이스에 대한 논리적 패턴을 분석하여 새로운 정보의 '적정성(relevance)' 여부를 판별하는 확률화 정보검색 모형을 만들고 이에 대한 실험을 하였다.

This paper describes a User Guidance System that extracts Conceptual Structure from the input sentence by use of en theory and performs Question Answering in Teletex Manual domain. It uses Frame typed knowledge base and Frame recognizer as Link procedure between CD structure and Frame controller.

In this article, we introduce a new class of product codes based on convolutional codes, called convolutional product codes. The structure of product codes enables parallel decoding, which can significantly increase decoder speed in practice. The use of convolutional codes in a product code setting makes it possible to use the vast knowledge base for convolutional codes as well as their flexibility in fast parallel decoders. Just as in turbo codes, interleaving turns out to be critical for the performance of convolutional product codes. The practical decoding advantages over serially-concatenated convolutional codes are emphasized.

The control objective of drum level of boiler in thermal power plant is to maintain drum level at constant setpoint regardless of disturbance such as main steam flow. The initial response of the drum level loop process is in a direction opposite to the final response. The drum level loop shows inverse response when the power is changed abruptly. We adopt fuzzy controller using knowledge base considering system dynamics for controlling drum level. Finally, the simulation result using the digital simulator for boiler system in Seoul Power Plant Unit 4 shows the validity of fuzzy controller.

This paper deals with the computer generation of Korean characters by the structural coding which results in higher flexibility and compactness. Our method by which Korean characters are designed is characterized as follows : The list of primitives for Korean text is extracted by structural coding rule, and the knowledge-base is used for handling various primitives.

Snow accretion on transmission lines may cause critical accidents such as sleet jump, tower collpases, etc,. In order to assist power system operators to prevent thses accidents, aprototype expert system had been developed. The system has basic functions of forecasting snow accretion on transmission lines and making a list of all feasible and effective deicing countermeasures. The knowledge of the effect of weather conditions on the snow accretion process continue main rule base. Simulation results show that the proposed system is very promising.
