차세대 정보가전 신제품 개발 지원을 위한 지식관리시스템 개발 (A Knowledge Management System for Supporting Development of the Next Generation Information Appliances)

  • 차세대 정보가전 제품이란 유무선 방식의 홈 네트워크에 연결되어 다른 제품과 데이터 송수신이 가능하고 가정 내외에서 원격으로 제어할 수 있는 차세대 가전제품을 의미한다. 기업들은 다가오는 홈 네트워킹 시대에 주도권을 잡기 위해 많은 투자와 연구를 진행하고 있으나, 새로운 정보가전 개발에 보다 체계적인 접근 방법을 요구하고 있고, 신제품을 개발하는 과정에서 축적된 지식을 서로 공유함으로써 국가적 차원에서 차세대 정보가전 분야를 세계적 수준으로 발전시켜야 할 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 배경에서 차세대 정보가전 신제품 개발 과정에서 획득된 지식을 지식베이스에 축적하여 이 지식을 정보가전 개발 기업 및 연구소에서 활용할 수 있도록 지원하는 지식관리시스템을 개발하였다. 신제품 개발에 필요한 지식을 획득하기 위해서 일반적인 지식관리시스템에서 사용되는 지식 획득방법과 달리 사용자 중심 설계 방법을 도입하였다. 사용자의 행동 과정과 요구를 분석적인 방법과 관찰적인 방법으로 파악하여 신제품 개발 아이디어를 도출하였고 이 과정에서 획득한 지식을 지식베이스에 저장하여 "사용자 행동분석 지식"과 "사용자 행동관찰 지식"을 구축하였다. 사용자 중심 설계로부터 도출된 신제품 중 사용자 니즈가 분명하고 시장성이 크다고 판단되는 신제품들을 디자인 모형으로 제작하고, 이들 제품이 미래 가정에서 사용되는 실제 상황을 보여주는 비디오를 제작하여 "미래감성 라이프 지식"을 구축하였다. 마지막으로 유럽과 일본에서 개발 중인 미래 주택에 관한 자료와 정보가전과 관련된 국내 신문 기사를 수집하여 "정보가전 기술현황 지식"을 구축하였다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐서 획득한 지식을 정보가전 개발 관련 연구자들이 활용할 수 있도록 웹 기반 지식관리시스템을 개발하였다. 지식 사용자는 지식관리시스템을 활용하여 신제품 개발에 필요한 지식을 얻을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 새로운 제품 아이디어를 도출할 수 있다.

지식상호보완성이 정보시스템 감리 성과에 미치는 영향 : 상주감리 관점에서 (An Analysis of the Effects of Knowledge Complementarities on the Performance of Information System Audit : A Perspective of the Resident Audit in the Project Office)

  • Recently, as Information System projects tend to be more complex, the importance of Information System Audit increases. In the same context, the need for the resident IS Audit also increases, which is supposed to deal with the possible risks and urgent issues by providing the appropriate support and timely coordination during IS project. Basically, for the effective IS Audit, the IS audit team members should be able to understand such a business context as work characteristics, business knowledge, goals, and culture of the organization. The audit team members should also be able to share the various knowledge of Information Technology and audit procedure with the owner of the project. Especially, for the resident audit, it is more important to fill the gaps in expertise between project owner and audit team. However, any studies on the need of common knowledge base (knowledge complementarities) in the IS audit have not been done so far. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the knowledge complementarity based on inter-organizational communication between the project owner and audit team members makes an effect on the fidelity and performance of IS audit. In order to do this, the relationship among inter-organizational communication and knowledge complementarity, the fidelity of IS audit service, and performance of IS audit has been analyzed, using Structural Equation Model. The result shows that all the relationship is significant, which means that knowledge complementarity between the two different interest groups should be an effective factor on the fidelity and performance of IS audit. This result implies that, for better quality of IS Audit service, how to acquire the knowledge complementarity between the project owner and Audit team should be considered seriously as well as systematically in the process of IS Audit.

선체 구조설계를 위한 지식 베이스 전문가 시스템 (Knowledge-based Expert System for the Preliminary Ship Structural Design)

  • 본 논문은 선박의 초기설계와 중앙단면 설계용 지식베이스 시스템을 개발하고 지식공학이 선체구조 설계 분야에 매우 효율적으로 적용될 수 있음을 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 첫째 구조설계에 적합한 지식베이스 전문가 시스템 개발용 도구(tool)인 E.1을 개발하였다. E.1은 C언어로 작성되었고 구조설계 과정을 효율적으로 뒷받침해주기 위해서 자동 반복 계산과 재추론 기능을 갖고 있다. 둘째 살물선의 초기설계시 주요치수 추정과 중앙단면 설계를 위한 지식베이스를 개발하였다. 이 지식베이스들은 통계적 경험식, 선급 규정, 경험적 지식 등을 rule, fact, table로 표현하여 구성하였다. 셋째 지식베이스의 추론을 통하여 중앙 단면 최적 설계 프로그램의 입력 자료를 생성하고 최적화 프로그램을 수행시키는 통합(hybrid) 시스템을 구축하였다. 넷째 보강판 설계용 지식베이스 시스템을 개발하기 위해 최적화 결과의 회귀분석을 이용하는 간이 설계법을 적용해 보았다. 이 시스템을 사용하여 살물선과 보강판의 설계과정을 보이고 그 결과를 검토해 보았다. 앞으로 E.I와 성능 개선과 더 우수한 지식베이스가 축적됨에 따라서 선체 구조설계에 사용되는 기존의 CAD 시스템의 성능이 크게 보완될 것으로 기대된다.

실패지식의 개념화를 위한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Research for the Conceptualization Failure knowledge)

  • Failure, the research object, means situations when goals and their results are different, which has developed presenting various aspects from ancient times and modern times. Failure is a complex concept which essentially requires judgement, and also a relative concept which can be changed depending on how you set up time base and standard. There are four stages for failure study to have been developed from studying failure through historical facts to the approach of organizational theory and it has been studied by looking at the failure of an organization according to different categories such as a developmental stage, a type of business, a period and a course. Compared with success science, failure study has not been studied sufficiently and also the level of its analysis is low. Thus, since lessons of failure tend to repeat themselves instead of being didactically accumulated, there need more studies on this. This thesis identified the main cause of the failure through various studies regarding failure which have been conducted at home and abroad. What the main cause of the failure that more than three studies mentioned have in common was that it occurred because organizations concentrated on the inside without communicating with external environment. The key point of failure study is to analyze failure, utilize it as assets, and create a frame of failure management. This thesis focused on delivering fragmentary knowledge on failure study, but case studies regarding this subject should be done in the future.

혐기성 동정을 위한 임상의사결정 지원시스템 개발 (Clinical Decision Support System for Identification of Anaerobe)

  • 혐기성 균의 동정과정은 업무영역 전체에 복잡성이 존재하며, 전문가의 비정형적인 경험적 지식을 주로 이용한다. 따라서 이와 같은 불완전한 지식체계를 시스템 내부에 표현하고 또한 사용자의 입장에서 진화하는 지식의 추가가 가능하여야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 실질적으로 임상에서 이용이 가능하도록 혐기성 균을 모델로 임상의사결정지원시스템을 개발하여 원인 균 동정과정 시 동정경로 설정 및 해답의 도출에 조언이 가능하도록 하였다. 앞으로 혐기성 균뿐만 아니라 실제 진단검사의학과에서 분리빈도가 높은 호기성균을 포함하는 전체 세균을 대상으로 하는 확대된 영역의 임상의사결정지원시스템이 개발되면 전문가의 견해에서 정적, 동적, 지식을 제공해 줄 수 있는 기반이 되고, 이를 위해 본 연구가 기반으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

분류전문가시스팀에 관한 연구 (A study on the expert system for classification of books)

  • This study is an attempt to provide some helpful data for the design and the implementation of the expert system for the book-classification based on the analysis of various cases of the classification-expert system models. Following the introduction, the concepts and some features of an expert system were overviewed in the second chapter, on the basis of which the following concrete cases were introduced and analyzed in the third chapter : (1) ACN System for NC, (2) Expert System for NDC, (3) Expert System for UDC, (4) Herba Medica System, (5) Expert System for IPC, (6) Stratcyclode Project, (7) Expert System for Classification of INIS Database, (8) AutoBC System, and etc. In the conclusion, for the development of the classification-expert system, it was turned out that constructing a new system by using an AI language such as Prolog or LISP is more desirable than employing any one of expert system shells. Together it is necessary for the following requirements to be met : (1) The subject concept of a document elicited should be accurate. (2) Not only a domain knowledge but also the knowledge covering all the subjects should be represented in the knowledge-bases. (3) The knowledge-bases should be organized in such a way that the characteristics of the knowledge about classification should be well defined. (4) rule-base consisting of accurate rules about classification should be made. (5) It should be possible for classification code wanted to be generated immediately.

연삭가공 트러블슈팅을 위한 룰베이스 구성의 기초 (Basic Construction of Rule-Base for Grinding Trouble -shooting)

  • Cognition and control of grinding trouble occurring during the grinding process are classified into a quantitative knowledge which depends on experimental data and qualitative knowledge which relies on skilful engineers. Grinding operations include a large number of functional parameters, since there are several ways of coping with grinding trouble. One is the qualitative method which depends on empirical knowledge utilizing the skilful experts from the workship, the other is the quantitative method which utilizes the experimental data obtained by a sensor. But, they are all difficult to accomplish from the grinding trouble-shooting system. The reason is that grinding troubles are now easily controlled in the quantitative method, and therefore, trouble-shooting has mainly relied on the knowledge of skilful engineers. Thus, there is an important issue of how a grinding trouble-shooting system can be designed and what knowledge is utilized among the large amount of grinding trouble information. In this paper, basic strategy to develop the grinding database of rule-based model, which is strongly depended upon experience and intuition , is described.

The Importance of Knowledge Produced in the Management Consulting Sector -A Perspective Analysis related to the research field of Strategy-as-Practice

  • Although management consulting activities have obtained a considerable growth in terms of economic significance in recent years, these results have not been duly followed by a greater number of conceptual and empirical research in this area. In order to fight the lack of studies on the actual work of management consultants, this article aims at answer some questions that remain open. Is management consulting an intensive and specialized knowledge activity? Are there knowledge and learning key success factors in this area? Are consultants the real experts and the true practitioners of strategy as practice? The results of the empirical analysis in the form of semi-structured interviews and questionnaires given to management consultants and SME managers in Portugal shows that management consulting is founded on a knowledge-intensive base, although consultants cannot be called strategy practitioners as many authors call them. This is illustrated by the Portuguese model of determinants that constitute the management consulting industry presented in this article, which means this proposition is a new direction in strategic thinking in what the field's research strategy-as-practice concerns.
