후레임 모델에 의한 연삭가공용 데이터 베이스의 설계 (Design of Grinding Database by Taking Frame-Based Model)

  • Grinding operation has difficulty in satisfying the qualitative knowledge based on the skilful expert as well as the quantitative data for all user. Design of grinding database based on the frame-based model is more effective method for utilizing the empirical and qualitative knowledge. In this paper. basic strategy to develop the grinding database by taking frame-based model, which is strongly dependent upon experience and intuition, is described. Grinding database based on the frame based model for designing the interaction and inference among the slots is accomplised by the object-oriented paradigm system.

Accomplishments and Prospects in the Psychology of Mathematics Learning

  • Cognitive psychology has provided valuable theoretical perspectives on learning mathematics. Based on the metaphor of the mind as an information processing device, educators and psychologists have developed detailed models of competence in a variety of areas of mathematical skill and understanding. Unquestionably, these models are an asset in thinking about the curriculum we want our students to follow. But any psychological paradigm has aspects of learning and knowledge that it accounts for well, and others that it accounts for less well. For instance, the paradigm of cognitive science gives us valuable models of the knowledge we want our students to acquire; but in picturing the mind as a computational device it reduces us to conceiving of learning in individualist terms. It is less useful in helping us develop effective learning communities in our classrooms. In this paper I review some of the significant accomplishments of cognitive psychology for mathematics education, and some of the directions that situated cognition theorists are taking in trying to understand knowing and learning in terms that blend individual and social perspectives.

Associations Among Information Granules and Their Optimization in Granulation-Degranulation Mechanism of Granular Computing

  • Knowledge representation realized by information granules is one of the essential facets of granular computing and an area of intensive research. Fuzzy clustering and clustering are general vehicles to realize formation of information granules. Granulation - degranulation paradigm is one of the schemes determining and quantifying functionality and knowledge representation capabilities of information granules. In this study, we augment this paradigm by forming and optimizing a collection of associations among original and transformed information granules. We discuss several transformation schemes and analyze their properties. A series of numeric experiments is provided using which we quantify the improvement of the degranulation mechanisms offered by the optimized transformation of information granules.

  • 본 논문은 지식경영이라는 새로운 패러다임의 소개와 이를 채택하는 기업의 조직을 총체적으로 지원하는 지식관리시스템의 이해를 주목적으로 하고 있다. 따라서 지식경영에 관련된 연구들을 분석함으로서 지식경영의 기초 개념을 파악하고 지식경영의 핵심인 지식관리시스템구축에서 요구되는 구축단계, 구축방법, 포함되어야 할 정보원과 서비스에 대한 기초 요소들을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 지식관리 프로그램을 설계하고자 할 때 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Education that allows South Korean Colleges of Dentistry to teach Emergency Care

  • As the medical environment and dental services change, the importance of educating dentists in responses to systemic emergencies is increasing. The current student-oriented education paradigm is moving towards training students in the abilities required to address the daily crises they will face, while also providing them with the ability to deliver knowledge. Before addressing a patient's situation, emergency physicians begin by diagnosing symptoms. As they must decide on the tests and treatments that are immediately required and must solve problems through interdisciplinary treatment, emergency physicians require additional skills and communication abilities besides clinical knowledge. Since dentistry colleges provide education that emphasizes the skills dentists require to treat oral diseases, they do not have sufficient time to teach emergency care. Additionally, because their professors lack expertise in pedagogy, dental students also have insufficient motivation to study the pathophysiology of systemic diseases. This review proposes a direction of teaching that can help dental students recognize problems and situations in emergency cases and that can help them develop their capability to immediately make a decision and resolve the problem. To do this, the author surveyed the educational philosophy and knowledge provided in the instructional design of clinical professors who give lectures on emergency care, and also examined the teaching methods of the learner-oriented education paradigm.

포스트모더니즘과 간호의 이슈 (Postmodernism and the Issue of Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to illustrate the main stream of postmodernism which has influenced theory and research in the nursing science, and then to consider the meaning and value of what the postmodern perspective has meant to nursing science in the 21st century. Method: Derrida and Foucaults philosophical thoughts that characterized postmodernism through the interpretation of their major literature was studied. Based on their philosophy, it was shownhow Derrida's idea could be applied in de constructing the core paradigm in modern nursing science. In terms of Foucault's post-structuralism, reinterpretation of the nursing science in relation to power/knowledge was completed. Result: Postmodernism created multiple and diverse paradigms of nursing theory as well as nursing research. This was accomplished by de constructing the modernism of nursing science which was based on the positivism and medical-cure centralism. Specifically, the post-structuralist perspective revealed issuesaround the relationship of power and knowledge, which dominated and produced modern nursing science. Contemporary nursing science accepts pluralism and needs no unitary meta-paradigm, which can reintegrate multiple and diverse paradigms. Conclusion: In considering the issue of nursing science in postmodernism, it can be summarized as follows: the postmodern thinking discovers and reveals diverse and potential nursing values which were veiled by the domination of western modem nursing science. These were motivated to create nursing knowledge by conversation in interpersonal relationships, which can contribute to practical utilities for the caring-healing situation.

개방·공유·참여의 대학 교육환경 구축 사례 (A Framework for Open, Flexible and Distributed Learning Environment for Higher Education)

  • This study proposes University 2.0 as a model case of open, flexible, and distributed learning environment for higher education based on theoretical foundations and perspectives. As web 2.0 technologies emerge into the field of education, ways of generating and disseminating information and knowledge have been drastically changed. Professors are no longer the only source of knowledge. Students using internet often become prosumers of knowledge who search and access information through the web as well as publish their own knowledge using the web. A concept and framework of University 2.0 is introduced for implementing the new interactive learning paradigm with an open, flexible and distributed learning environment for higher education. University 2.0 incorporates online and offline learning environments with various educational media. Furthermore, it employs various learning strategies and integrates formal and informal learning through learning communities. Both instructors and students in University 2.0 environment are expected to be active knowledge generators as well as creative designers of their own learning and teaching.

  • This paper suggests process knowledge management (PKM) which aims at lossless integration of business process management (BPM) and knowledge management (KM). To implement PKM, this paper suggests the concept of process knowledge and explores how to use them to extend the functionalities of knowledge management systems and process management systems by considering the lifecycle requirements of both knowledge and business processes. The framework and extended functionalities can provide a new corporate paradigm that combines the advantages of BPM and KM. Further, important corporate knowledge about business processes can be defined and managed in a single framework.

CiteSpace 적용을 통한 디지털 보존 지식영역 비주얼화 연구 (A Study on Visualization of Digital Preservation Knowledge Domain Using CiteSpace)

  • 디지털 보존 주제분야를 중심으로 지식영역 비주얼화(knowledge domain visualization)를 시도하였다. 분석을 위한 데이터는 1990년부터 2005년까지의 기간 동안의 Web of Science DB를 중심으로 총 74건의 문헌을 추출하여 활용하였다. 지식영역 비주얼화를 위하여 사용한 툴은 서지DB를 중심으로 비주얼 데이터마이닝 결과를 제공하는 Java 어플리케이션인 CiteSpace이다. 분석 결과, 디지털 보존 분야의 핵심적인 지식 영역은 최신정보기술을 중심으로 한 디지털 보존전략, 정보네트워크와 보존시스템, 전자정부와 지식관리의 세 영역인 것으로 나타났다.

  • In the previous KM (Knowledge Management) studies, it has been repeatedly pointed that CoP (Community of Practice) should be used as a platform for boosting up corporate innovative activities. Despite this, it is very rare to find relevant literature in which real-world cases are introduced showing critical success factors, implemented strategies, and objective analysis of results. In this sense, main objective of this paper is very timely- to introduce a real-world CoP case in which POSCO, world-leading steel company, sorted out creative CoP strategies to nurture knowledge-sharing activities to solve various kinds of problems at hand, and maintain appropriate level of knowledge circulation throughout all the working units of company. In a nutshell, POSCO has been successful in any measure in utilizing the creative CoP activities as strategic means to change the paradigm of innovation and extract fruitful outcomes from integrating three important individual activities such as work, learning, and innovation.
