To prepare basic data for oral health promotion of high school students through the survey of the recognition of oral health care, a questionnaire survey was conducted for 268 students. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 11.5 with ${\chi}^2$-test, fisher's exact test, t-test and logistic regression. The obtained results were as follows 1. The average of the high school student's oral health knowledge was $13.12{\pm}2.06$. Statistically school girls were higher(pE0.05) than school boy's oral health knowledge(male: 12.91, female: 13.35), tooth brushing frequency(male: 4times or more-15.4%, female: 4times or more-29.8%), and preventive dental visit(male: 8.1%, female: 17.5%). 2. More than 70% of high school students was concerned about oral health. According to the self-judgement of oral health, more than 50% of them was answered that they wasn't sure of oral health. 3. Only 13% of high school students received oral health education and 80% of them recognized oral health manpower's education needs. 4. The logistic regression analysis illustrated that high school student's preventive dental visit was independently associated with the self-judgement of oral health. The odds ratio was 3.0 and statistically significant.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the oral health behavior of mothers in multicultural families and the oral health management of children. Methods: The subjects were 303 mothers in multicultural families having children in childhood. To verify the validity of the outcome, a factorial analysis was conducted. To examine differences in the outcome according to socio-demographic characteristics, a one-way ANOVA was used, and the hypothesis was tested through a multiple regression analysis. Results: According to the results, it was found that severity, self-efficacy, sensitivity, and multicultural disability that show attitudes had significant impact on the mother's oral health behavior. Moreover, it was found that self-efficacy, sensitivity, and the mother's oral health behavior that show attitudes had significant impact on the children's oral health management. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, it would be necessary to increase the interest in mother-and-child oral health, developing a mother-and-child oral health education program targeted toward the oral health of the mothers and children in multicultural families. Moreover, it is essential to educate mothers in multicultural families in order to increase their sense of responsibility toward their children's oral health management, aiming to promote knowledge and to change attitudes and behavior.

The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, oral health related characteristics, oral health knowledge and behavior. Data were analyzed using SAS 9.3 version. T-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple linear regression analyses were performed to evaluate the related factors with oral health behavior. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ in oral health knowledge in this study was 0.52 and that in oral health behavior was 0.80. Results: The overall score of oral health behavior was $3.38{\pm}0.52$. Of all behaviors, the practice in brush of teeth and tongue had the highest mean score. In multiple regression analysis, oral health knowledge in the nursing and dental hygiene students was positively associated with the oral health behavior(${\beta}=0.04$, p=0.003, ${\beta}=0.23$, p=0.003, and ${\beta}=0.18$, p=0.034, respectively). Necessity of dental care, one of oral symptom, and more than two oral symptoms were negatively associated with oral health behavior(${\beta}=-0.14$, p=0.002, ${\beta}=-0.11$, p=0.037, and ${\beta}=-0.17$, p=0.011, respectively). Conclusions: Higher oral health knowledge showed higher levels of oral health behavior. These results will enhance the quality of oral health behavior by increasing the level of oral health knowledge. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between oral health professionals' knowledge, attitude, and practice with regard to infectious waste management and to identify related factors influencing it. Methods: The study comprised of 219 oral health professionals from select dental clinics and public health centers recruited between August 25, 2016 and September 5, 2016, who agreed to participate in the study with full understanding of the study objectives. A self-reported questionnaire was administered, which consisted of 22 items on knowledge of infectious waste management, 9 items on attitude, and 16 items on practice. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analyses. Results: The age, knowledge, and clinical attitude of oral health professionals significantly correlated with waste management practice. Specifically, infectious waste management practice improved with increasing age, a greater level of knowledge, and a more positive clinical attitude. Additionally, the standardized regression coefficient demonstrated that, of these three factors, clinical attitude more strongly correlated with effective waste management practice, followed by age and level of knowledge. Conclusions: These results indicated that oral health professionals had a low level of knowledge regarding infectious waste management, and a more positive clinical attitude resulted in better practices. Therefore, the development of detailed and active education guidelines and strategies are needed to enhance the attitude, knowledge, and practice of oral health professionals with regard to infectious waste management.
The present study attempted to analyze the influence of the mother's demographic characteristics and knowledge on oral health as well as dental care behaviors on her practice of using dental care institutions. A self-report survey was conducted among 172 mothers of children aged 5-6 attending on three preschools located in Daegu metropolitan city. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SAS 8.01 with $X^2$-test, t-test and logistic regression. The obtained results were as follows: 1. No significant association was found among the demographic characteristics of the mother, her past experience as well as the purpose of using dental care institutions. 2. There was significant relationship between the mother's knowledge and behavior concerning oral health and her past experience of using dental care institutions; the mothers having a higher level of knowledge and who thought they themselves didn't have healthy teeth and gum tended to have more visits to dental care institutions(pE0.05). There was also significant relationship between their purpose and their actual practice of using dental care institutions: the mothers having a higher level of knowledge and who thought their own oral health was good tended to visit dental institutions more for the preventive purpose than for treatments(pE0.05). 3. As a result of logistic regression, the variables formed as models were their knowledge on oral health and their values for oral health. The standardized coefficients for the two variables were -0.19 and 0.19, respectively. For the mother's purpose of visiting dental care institutions, the variables formed as models were their knowledge on oral health and their values for oral health. The standardized coefficients for the two variables were -0.40 and -0.37, respectively. The relative contributions of the two variables to the mother's practice of using dental care institutions were on the similar level.
