심근 경색증 환자의 죽상경화증 위험요인별 질병관련 지식과 건강행위 이행 (Disease-related Knowledge Level and Compliance of Health Behavior in Patients with Myocardial Infarction According to the Atherosclerotic Risk Factors)

  • Purpose: This study purposed to examine the disease-related knowledge level and compliance with good health behavior in patients with myocardial infarction according to the atherosclerotic risk factors. Method: The subjects consisted of 72 patients with myocardial infarction and the data were collected by interviewing the subjects with questionnaires and reviewing their medical records from September, 15, 1999 to July 31, 2000. Data were analyzed using the SAS program. Results: 1) With regard to atherosclerotic risk factors: of the subjects, 91.7% lacked regular exercise, followed by smoking (61.1%). 2) The average knowledge score of the patients was 19.7 and the average compliance score was 53.9. 3) There were no significant differences in the total knowledge scores according to the patients' atherosclerotic risk factors. 4) Non-diabetics were significantly higher in knowledge scores on domain of risk factors than the diabetics. 5) The overweight patients were significantly higher in knowledge score on domain of nature of disease than the normalweight patients. 6) The total compliance scores of the non-smokers were significantly higher than those of the smokers. 7) The total compliance scores of the patients who do regular exercise were significantly higher than those of the patients who forgo regular exercise. 8) The non-smokers were significantly higher in compliance scores on domain of diet than the smokers. 9) The diabetic patients were significantly higher in compliance scores on domain of smoking cessation than the non-diabetics. 10) Patients who do regular exercise were significantly higher in compliance scores on other domains than the patients who forgo regular exercise. Conclusion: According to the above findings, it can be concluded that intensive nursing care and education should be provided to patients who have atherosclerotic risk factors such as smoking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, lack of exercise, over weight, or hypercholesterolemia to increase disease related knowledge level and to improve compliance with good health behavior.

뷰티패션전공과 비전공 여대생의 식습관 관련 지식정도 및 미의식에 관한 비교연구 (Comparative Study on Knowledge of Food Habits and Perception of Beauty between Beauty & Fashion Major and Non-major Female College Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the lifestyle, food habits, image, perception of beauty and nutrition knowledge between beauty major and non-major college female students. A total of 392 women aged 20s in the survey. SPSS version 21.0 was used for analysis of data. The BMI was high in non-major students (p<0.05), proportion of underweight (p<0.001) and non-drinker (p<0.01) were significantly higher in beauty major students than non-major students. Proportion of total subjects skipped meal by the lack of time. Importance of appearance was significantly higher (p<0.05) in beauty major students. Nutrition knowledge score was significantly higher in beauty major students compared to non-major students (p<0.001).In beauty major students, food intake of meats (p<0.001) and cooked food with oil (p<0.01) were lower white vegetables (p<0.05) and fruits (p<0.01) were higher than non-major students. In conclusion, these results suggest that non-major students need to systematic education program about nutrition and diet.

Effective ketogenic diet in CACNA1A-related 'epilepsy of infancy with migrating focal seizures'

  • Genetic causes of developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) have been rapidly uncovered from mid-2010s. The mutations of gene enconding calcium channel, voltage-dependent, P/Q type, alpha 1A subunit (CACNA1A) are recently detected in DEE, which gene is already known well in familial hemiplegic migrine type 1 or episodic ataxia type 2. Ketogenic diet therapy (KDT) is effective in some DEE, which data is short in CACNA1A encephalopathy. A 3-month-old male with global developmental delay and multidrug-resistant focal seizures was diagnosed as epilepsy of infancy with migrating focal seizures (EIMFS). Brain magnetic resonance imaging and metabolic screening were all normal. Whole exome sequencing revealed two variants of CACNA1A: c.899A>C, and c.2808del that is from his mother. His seizures disappeared within 3 days whenever on KDT, which recurred without it. To our knowledge, this rare case of EIMFS with novel mutations of CACNA1A, is the first report in CACNA1A encephalopathy becoming seizure-free on KDT.

중심비만 위험인자를 가진 중년여성의 신체활동 실천율, 심뇌혈관질환 예방관련 지식이 건강행위에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Physical Activity Practice Rates and Knowledge Related to Cardiocerebrovascular Disease Prevention on Health Behavior Case Study Focusing on Middle Aged Women with Risk of Central Obesity)

  • 이 연구는 중년여성의 심뇌혈관질환 예방관련 지식, 신체활동 실천율이 건강행위에 미치는 영향요인을 확인하기 위한 연구이다. 자료수집은 경북 북부지역 24개 읍면동지역에 거주하는 중년여성 142명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 시행되었다. 연구기간은 2017년 10월부터 11월까지 2개월간 시행되었다. 수집한 자료는 기술통계와 t-test, ANOVA, Pearson 상관분석, 위계적 다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 건강행위에 영향을 미치는 요인은 심뇌혈관질환 예방관련지식의 음주(${\beta}=0.15$, p=.009), 식이(${\beta}=0.16$, p=.003), 고강도의 신체활동 실천율(${\beta}=0.14$, p=.011), 일반적 특성의 결혼상태(${\beta}=0.19$, p<.001), 본인건강관심도(${\beta}=0.23$, p<.001), 자신의 건강을 나쁘게 인식하는 경우 (${\beta}=0.31$, p<.001)이었다. 이러한 변수들은 건강행위와 유의한 변수를 보정변수로 추가하여 분석한 것으로 회귀식의 적합도는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다(F=16.46, p<.001). 주요 변수 간의 관계에서 건강증진행위는 심뇌혈관질환 예방관련 지식(r=.41, p<.001)과 신체활동 실천율(r=.44, p<.001)과 유의한 양적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 따라서 연구결과를 바탕으로 추후 중년 여성의 건강행위 증진을 위하여 질환 예방 지식과 신체활동 실천율 지지를 반영한 실천적인 중재프로그램의 개발과 적용이 필요하겠다.

학교와 병원 영양사 인적특성의 비교: 중요도와 빈도를 중심으로 (Comparison of Human Attributes for School and Hospital Dietitians : by Importance and Frequency Scale)

  • Job analysis was done by the method of interview and survey to find out the human attributes needed for dietitans' job performance. The knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics including personality were major items in the questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to 340 schools and hospital dietitians. Among these, 201 were compeletely filled out, returned and statistically analyzed according to the frequency scale and importance scale respectively. The results were as follows : 1) The age, education, job experience and monthly pay of hospital dietitians were higher than those of school dietitians. This was partly due to the reflection of short chronicle of school foodservice. 2) The most important human attributes for rwo groups were commonly shown as sincere and faithful personality, good human relationship and responsibility for business outcome. 3) Computer skill and menuplanning ability were human attributes of the most frequently used by school dietitians, whereas knowledge of diet therapy, clinical nutrition, and pathology of disease were frequently used by hospital dietitians. 4) The correlation coefficients between two groups were as follows : Spearman's rho value of personality, skills and abilities, and knowledge were 0.806, -0.432,-0.203 respectively, according to the importance scale. 5) An overall view from t test between two groups, various human attributes, especially knowledge were more frequently used by hospital dietitians.

청주시 대학생들의 성별과 BMI에 따른 다이어트 관련 행동 분석 (An Analysis of Diet-related Behaviors according to the Gender and BMI of University Students in Cheongju)

  • 젊은 연령의 대학생들은 외모에 대한 관심이 높고 상업성 매스매디어의 영향으로 지나치게 마른 체형이나 근육질의 몸매를 선호하여 자신의 정상적인 외모에 불만족하는 경우가 많다. 본 연구에서는 청주지역 남녀 대학생 400명을 대상으로 다이어트 행동에 대한 설문조사를 실시하여, 체형에 대한 인식정도, 실제 체중과 신장, 다이어트 경험, 부작용 등 다이어트와 관련된 행동특성에 대해 알아보았다. 연구결과 남학생의 희망하는 평균체중은 68.81kg으로 현재 평균체중 73.53kg에 비해 6.42% 적었고, 여학생의 희망체중은 49.15kg으로 현재 평균체중 54.58kg에 비해 9.95% 낮게 조사되었다. 남녀 모두 현재보다 체중이 더 적은 것을 희망하고 있으며, 여학생의 현재 체중과 희망체중의 차이가 남학생보다 더 컸다. 체중만족도에서는 불만족하는 경우가 가장 많았으며, 불만족, 아주 불만족하는 여학생의 비율(48.9%,12.5%)이 남학생(32.4%,10.8%)에 비하여 높았다. 이상의 결과, 체중에 대한 불만족이 크며 현 체중보다 날씬한 몸매를 원하고 있는 대학생들이 바람직한 체중관리를 통해 건강한 생활을 유지할 수 있도록 정확한 영양지식과 적절한 교육 및 상담프로그램이 제공되어야 할 것이다.

Lifestyle Components and Primary Breast Cancer Prevention

  • Breast cancer primary prevention is a high research priority due to the high psychological and economic costs. The disease is a multistep process and several risk factors have been recognized. Over the past three decades numerous studies have investigated the association of lifestyle with breast cancer, showing independent effects of various factors. We report here a summary of the present state of knowledge on the role of lifestyle patterns, such as physical activity, diet, smoking, hormone therapy, and experience of psychological stress in the modulation of breast cancer in women, and discuss commonly accepted biological mechanisms hypothesized as responsible for the associations. The findings indicate that regular physical activity of moderate to vigorous intensity is probably linked with the decreased breast cancer risk among postmenopausal females and suggestive for a decrease of the risk in premenopausal women. In contrast, the consumption of high-fat diet, alcohol intake, and use of combined estrogen and synthetic progestagen hormonal therapy may increase the risk. Epidemiological findings dealing with a role of smoking and experience of psychological stress are conflicting.

임산부의 철분 섭취량과 흡수율 및 관련된 영양지식에 관한 연구 (Assessment of the Intake and Availability of Dietary Iron and Nutrition Knowledge in Pregnant Women)

  • This study was designed to estimate mean daily iron intake and its bioavailabi- lity and to assess nutrition knowledge for 144 pregnant women in the last trimester. Serum ferritin concentration was analyzed to estimate their iron stores. Dietary intakes of iron(heme iron and nonheme iron), the amounts of MPF(meat, poultry and fish) and ascorbic acid were assessed by modified 24-hr recall method. The food frequency questionnaire was used to assess subjects usual food consumption patterns. The mean value of serum ferritin was $21.3\pm{15.2ng/ml}$ and 26.4% of the pregnant women had a serum ferritin level <12ng/ml(i.e. depleted iron stores). The mean daily intake of total orin in the pregnant women was 56.5%(17.0mg) of RDA and heme iron intake was 0.94mg which was 5.5% of total iron intake. Total absorbable iron calculated by the method of Monsen was 2.41mg and bioavailability of dietary iron was 2.41%. Food frequency test score of meats group was positively correlated(r=0.443) with the bioaavailability of dietary iron. The mean score on the nutrition knowledge test of subjects was 12.76(out of a possible 20 points). These results indicate that the nutritional iron status may be improved by increasing either the amount of iron in the diet or its availability.

일부지역 보건소 당뇨병 환자의 영양상태와 당뇨병 관리실태 (The study on Nutritional Management Status of Diabetic Patients in the Health Center)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the nutritional status and diabetes management of diabetic patients in the Health Center. General characteristics, food habits, food intakes and the knowledge about diet therapy were investigated from ninety one diabetes subjects. Anthropometric assessment such as weight, hight, triceps skinfold thickness, and biochemical measurement of fasting blood glucose(FBG), post prandial 2 hours blood glucose(PP2), and hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c) were obtained form the subjects. The results were summarized as following : 1. The average of age was 60.9 years old and 83.5% of subjects was illiterate and primary school graduated. 2. Relative Body Weight(RBW) and % body muscle were 96.18${\pm}$13.6 and 33.56${\pm}$7.01%, respectively. Obese subjects whose body weight exceeded 120% of the ideal values were 3.3%. 3. The 86.8% of subjects were managed by oral hyperglycemic agents. 4. The mean of FBG, PP2, HbA1c were 140.75${\pm}$44.43mg/㎗, 7.60${\pm}$1.88%, respectively. 5. The mean daily intake of calorie was 1407㎉, and 73.6% of subjects lower caloric intake than prescribed calorie. when the degree of dietary compliance was expressed as Tunbridge score, 18.7% of total subjects was grouped as satisfactory, where as 20.9% and 60.4% could be considered as tolerable and hopeless, respectively. The nutrients intake were lower than RDA except for Vitamin A and Vitamin C and the ratio of carbohydrate : protein : fat was 72 : 14 : 14. 6. The mean score of knowledge test about diet therapy was 3.52${\pm}$2.19 out of possible 14.00 points. The above results suggested that the most of diabetic patient showed the poor nutritional status and they faced the lack of knowledge about diabetes management.

뇌졸중 환자의 식이지식 및 식이교육 요구도 관련 요인 (The Factors Associated with Dietary Knowledge and Educational Needs of Stroke Patients)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the this study was to examine the dietary knowledge and educational needs of stroke patients and analyze the related factors that are associated with dietary knowledge and educational needs. Methods: Our study analyzed data from 146 stroke patients. The survey was conducted by individual interviews using questionnaires and data collected from participants' medical records. Dietary knowledge and educational needs were measured by tools developed by the author. Results: The mean scores for the dietary knowledge and educational needs were 19.09±3.48 and 36.17±7.18, respectively. Many stroke patients had misconceptions about soy sauce, cholesterol, and fruits. The most needed items in dietary education was first identifying foods that are beneficial or harmful, and second, food interaction with medications. As for the results of multiple regressions, dietary knowledge was significantly associated with gender, educational attainment, monthly income, exercise, body mass index, and level of compliance to dietary therapy. Additionally, the educational needs were significantly related with educational attainment and employment. Conclusion: For secondary prevention of stroke patients, education strategy considering dietary knowledge and educational needs of stroke patients should be established. Special attention is needed for stroke patients with a lower level of dietary knowledge and educational needs.
