Evaluation Indicators for Green Libraries and Library Eco-friendliness

  • This study aimed to determine eco-friendly factors on the aspects of library service, materials provided or handled by the library, and programs including educational programs. Furthermore, it was setup to perform a trial evaluation for the eco-friendliness of the library based on the determined evaluation standards by this study. Results are as follows; First, regarding the question of 'Do employees of the library think that establishment of green libraries is necessary?', the employees of the libraries responded yes by 65.52%, but only 4.6% responded that it would not be necessary. Second, in analyzing the most important evaluation areas of green libraries according to the opinions of the libraries' employees, they were ranked in order: the indoor environment, energy and prevention of environmental pollution, and material and resource areas. Third, 11 areas were determined to evaluate the level of greening in the libraries; the highest averages were scored 510 for the area of energy and prevention of environmental pollution, 415 for the area of library resource, and 320 for the area of indoor environment. Last, the libraries were graded based on actual data according to the results to measure the level of greening, two libraries were graded as Diamond, the highest grade, accounting for 15.39% of all libraries; Gold and Silver grades accounted for another 15.39%, together five Certified graded libraries accounted for 38.46%, which was the highest rate among the libraries. Any library scoring less than 20% when compared to the full score was graded as Non-certified, and one library, which scored 15.06% fell into this category. The results of this study set up to serve as basic data for the direction of development for green libraries in our country, as well as reference for the employees of libraries in constructing or remodeling library buildings, establishing service infrastructure, providing information service, and planning library duties in an eco-friendly way.

  • 국제표준은 소프트웨어의 일반적인 특성과 공통성을 토대로 구축된 것이다. 따라서 특정한 지식정보보안 제품에 적용하기 위해서는 제품의 특성을 최대한 고려하고 관련 표준을 적용하여 평가 방법을 최적화하는 과정이 필수라 할 수 있다. 아울러, 소프트웨어 분야의 급격한 발전으로 인해 국제표준의 변화도 불가피하기 때문에 표준의 구성이나 내용이 지속적으로 변화되어 왔고 이러한 변화를 수용한 평가방법의 구축도 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 지식정보보안 제품 중 침입차단시스템(Firewall)의 품질수준을 평가하여 개선방향을 도출함으로써 품질향상을 지원할 수 있는 평가모델을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 침입차단시스템의 동향 및 기술적인 요소들을 조사 분석하고 침입차단시스템의 특성을 고려하여 일반 품질 요구사항과 고유한 품질 요구사항을 도출하고 품질평가 모델과 평가 방법을 제시하였다.

Bloom의 신 교육목표분류에 기초한 중학교 생물 영역 총괄 평가 문항의 목표 분석 (Analysis of Summative Evaluation Objectives in Middle School Biology based on Bloom's Revised Taxonomy of Educational Objectives)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 중학교 과학 생물영역의 총괄 평가 문항의 평가 목표를 블룸의 신 교육목표분류체계에 따라 분류하여 평가 목표의 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 대구지역 중학교 25개교로부터 총 1,711개의 총괄 평가 문항을 수집하여 블룸의 신 교육목표분류체계에 따라 각 문항의 평가 목표를 분석하였다. 총괄 평가 문항을 지식과정 차원의 목표분류틀로 분석한 결과, 사실적 지식에 대한 평가를 목표로 하는 문항이 대부분(67.6%)을 차지하였다. 인지과정 차원에서 표본 문항의 평가 목표는 기억하는가를 평가하는 것이 가장 우세하였다(76.1%). 문항의 주된 평가 목표들이 블룸의 신교육목표 분류체계 중 특정 영역에 치우쳐 있었고, 동일한 분류체계로 수업 목표를 분류했던 이전의 연구 결과와 비교했을 때, 수업목표와 평가 목표의 분포에 차이가 있었다. 학년별 문항의 평가 목표 수준을 분석한 결과, 학년이 올라감에 따라 변하는 인지 수준을 고려하여, 평가 목표를 선정하여야 함에도 불구하고 문항의 평가 목표에서 학년별 차이는 발견할 수 없었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to apply to the phenomenological self-evaluation method in the social welfare agency. It means that the phenomenological self-evaluation method accepts "the reality" which occurs in the social welfare setting, and functions for the social worker to play dual role of practitioner-evaluator. This paper examines two dimensions of social work evaluation theory and practice. Firstly, this study is to investigate a trend of evaluation in social work setting, and seeks theoretical aspect of phenomenological self-evaluation method, with emphasis on the strength and limit of the positivism evaluation methods. Although qualitative evaluation was suggested to make an alternative to the positivism by qualitative researchers, they did not suggest the specific methods and roles of the practitioner-evaluator. In this study, two directions of the phenomenological self-evaluation method are suggested to overcome the limitations. which are "environment-relation self-evaluation" and "program-oriented self-evaluation". Secondly, the result of phenomenological self-evaluation studies for the social welfare community center program and organization in kangnam district from June, 1994 (Program-oriented self-evaluation) to march, 2000 (Environment-relation self-evaluation) are presented. the phenomenological self-evaluation study showed the expected outcome such as; reflective self-training, making a practice knowledge, enhancing service quality, and reinforcing the identity of social welfare profession.

인터넷 쇼핑몰에서 구전과 보증이 신뢰에 미치는 영향 : 제품평가 용이성의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Effects of Word-of-Mouth and Assurance on Trust in the Internet Shopping Mall Environments: The Moderation Effect of Ease of Product Evaluation)

  • Purchasing through Internet shopping mall has more uncertainty compared with offline shopping mall. Previous studies have presented that trust plays a role of reducing uncertainty and increasing purchasing intention. In this study, we suggest that third-party assurance and word-of-mouth contribute to the formation of trust. In addition, we also propose that ease of product evaluation plays moderating roles in the relationships between third-party assurance, word-of-mouth and trust. For this study, we collected sample data from two groups consisting of online shoppers purchasing the search goods and experience goods categorized by type of ease of product evaluation. Empirical results show that word-of-mouth and third-party assurance have different effects on trust in two groups. The third-party assurance has a stronger impact on trust in online shopping group of the search goods than in the experience goods, while word-of-mouth in the online community has a stronger impact on trust in online shopping group of the experience goods than in the search goods. We expect that this result will provide researchers and managers who are interested in trust formation factors in online shopping mall with useful theoretical and practical implications.

우리나라 전공의 수련교육 구성 및 운영에 대한 제안 (The Proposal for Residency Educational Programs)

  • In clinical clerkships, residents function as trainees, workers, and teachers for other medical students. Although residents care for patients in harsh environments and encounter precarious patient-safety situations, they are working towards becoming competent specialists. Residency education programs are very important in cultivating specialists able to adapt to the rapidly-changing medical environment, and are also necessary to improve the quality of specialist training. Competent specialists not only need clinical competency, but also a wide range of abilities including professionalism, leadership, effective communication, cooperation, and attention to continuous professional development/continuing medical education activities. Each Korean association of specialties has its own educational goals and standardized education programs to help residents learn specific techniques and competencies related to medical care for patients, though the training environment of each residency is different within each trainee hospital. Although it is also important to evaluate residency education programs, currently there is only an examination of knowledge and assessment of skills based on mini-clinical evaluation exercises or direct observation of procedural skills. In order to develop an objective and estimable evaluation tool that can assess the overall achievement level within each training course, it is necessary to evaluate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of residents. Residency education programs need further attention and reform.

공공부문 데이터의 경제적 가치평가 연구: 소상공인 신용보증 데이터 사례 (Economic Valuation of Public Sector Data: A Case Study on Small Business Credit Guarantee Data)

  • As the important breakthrough continues in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence recently, there has been a growing interest in the analysis and the utilization of the big data which constitutes a foundation for the field. In this background, while the economic value of the data held by the corporates and public institutions is well recognized, the research on the evaluation of its economic value is still insufficient. Therefore, in this study, as a part of the economic value evaluation of the data, we have conducted the economic value measurement of the data generated through the small business guarantee program of Korean Federation of Credit Guarantee Foundations (KOREG). To this end, by examining the previous research related to the economic value measurement of the data and intangible assets at home and abroad, we established the evaluation methods and conducted the empirical analysis. For the data value measurements in this paper, we used 'cost-based approach', 'revenue-based approach', and 'market-based approach'. In order to secure the reliability of the measured result of economic values generated through each approach, we conducted expert verification with the employees. Also, we derived the major considerations and issues in regards to the economic value measurement of the data. These will be able to contribute to the empirical methods for economic value measurement of the data in the future.

A Study on the Improvement of Korean Journal Citation Index Service

  • The KJC and KCI services operated by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) need to refer to the global citation index database to set the service direction that researchers want and develop new functions. Therefore, in this study, the usability of Korea's KJC and KCI web databases was evaluated. In addition, FGI verification was performed for a group of experts on KJC and KCI improvement measures derived by academic information experts. The evaluation committee consisted of the researcher group, the society related group, the publisher (academic information distribution organization) group, and the policy-making organization group. A total of 16 experts performed usability evaluation and service improvement proposals for KJC and KCI services. As a result of usability evaluation of KJC and KCI web database using SUS measurement tool, KJC service was evaluated as 73.44, and KCI service was evaluated as good as 64.38. KJC improvement proposals were evaluated positively with 4 points or more for all improvement items, and KCI improvement proposals were positively evaluated with 3.5 points or more for all improvement items. Overall, KJC and KCI error improvements were evaluated with a score of 4 or more, showing strong affirmations. In the future, it is hoped that the improvement proposals and improvements proposed in this study will be applied to the development of KJC and KCI services, so that more quality services will be used by domestic researchers.

Evaluation of Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) Projects on Flood Risk Management in Thailand

  • This study evaluates Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects in Thailand from 2011 to 2013 by deploying the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation Development (OECD) evaluation criteria. Special attention is placed on disaster-related development assistance activities of Japan through reviewing long-term impacts of the projects. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has played a crucial role in transferring Japan's experiences on disaster risk management to developing countries, including Thailand. The study highlights two flood risk management projects in Thailand with the support of JICA after the 2011 floods, namely the Project for the Comprehensive Flood Management Plan for the Chao Phraya River Basin and the Project for Flood Countermeasures for Thailand Agriculture Sector. The case studies demonstrate that the projects were efficiently and effectively conducted for meeting Thailand's needs and requirements. JICA provided multi-hazards risk analysis through scientific data as well as local knowledge. However, achievements of the project did not last for long because of a lack of Thai stakeholders' commitment and JICA's post-project management. It is concluded that a development agency should consider impacts and sustainability of flood risk management projects more carefully from the stage of planning, and the practical application of the knowledge, and technologies should also be monitored progressively after the completion of the project.

Signal Processing and Development Process Based on "MOOC + SPOC + Flipped Classroom"

  • The hybrid teaching approach of "MOOC + SPOC + Flipped Classroom" overcomes the constraints of time and space that are typically associated with traditional teaching methods, thus compensating for the shortcomings of traditional approaches. These changes in education are driven by the "Internet+" wave and the growing popularity of online teaching. The "MOOC + SPOC + Flipped Classroom" hybrid teaching mode can successfully compensate for the drawbacks of traditional teaching methods, thereby overcoming their restrictions. By defining relevant concepts, one can distill the key characteristics of the "MOOC + SPOC + Flipped Classroom" hybrid teaching mode. Formative assessment was employed to thoroughly evaluate the effectiveness of this teaching approach. By leveraging the advantages of massive open online course (MOOC), small private online course (SPOC), and flipped classroom, the "MOOC +SPOC + Flipped Classroom" teaching mode incorporates real-time student assessment through peer evaluation, computer-aided evaluation, and teacher evaluation. This mode promotes the simultaneous development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, helping students to establish strong foundations while fostering their practical abilities. While the traditional teaching method remains fruitful, the convenience of today's network allows the teaching profession to continually evolve. The traditional teaching mode heavily relies on teachers, making it impossible to conduct lessons without them. However, the development of MOOC enables students to seek knowledge online from their preferred teachers, rather than solely relying on their assigned instructors.
