This study describes the feasibility and optimization of reactive dyeing on bio treated cotton knitted fabrics. For this, cotton knitted fabrics distinctly with two different enzymes, alkaline Pectinases(Scourzyme $L^{(R)}$) and Pectate lyases(Bactosol Co. ip $liquor^{(R)}$). In this way by increasing the concentration and processing temperature, the access of enzymes towards the fatty and waxy substrate was found to be accelerated. To achieve higher absorbency and whiteness index, a series of experiments was carried out to assure that Pectate lyases enzymes possesses high access towards the fats and waxes at high temperature. To this end, cotton knitted fabrics was dyed without oxidative bleaching step. The Pectate lyases scoured and dyed fabrics showed less color difference when 2% dye shade is used. The fabrics pre-scoured with Pectate lyases showed good the light and washing fastness properties, compared to the conventional and Pectinases dyed fabrics. However pectinases enzymes showed lower activity at high temperature, caused poor wettability and whiteness index of fabrics. The improvement of the accessibility of enzyme to the pectin at higher temperature Pectate lyases treatment before dyeing was found to be useful for subsequent pectin degradation in cotton knitted fabrics.
In this paper, the effect of the mud of an inorganic substance dyed on cotton knitted fabrics have been studied. The structure and chemical composition of mud was analyzed. And the far-infrared emissivity and emission power, colorfastness, anti-bacterial properties cotton knitted fabrics dyed with mud were also evaluated. The structure and chemical composition of mud was almost identical structure and to be alike main components were SiO2, A1203 and Fe203. The cotton knitted fabrics dyed with mud have good components and anti-bacterial properties. when the dyed fabrics was after-treated with diphenyl ether, the anti-bacterial property were improved. Far-infrared emissivity and emission fewer cotton knitted fabrics dyed with mud have very good.

Aim of this study is to investigate the dimensional characteristics of the weft knitted fabrics with Bamboo knitted yarn. This Bamboo knitted yarn was made of the biodegradability fiber. The structure of weft knitted fabrics that was utilized for this study is the plain stitch, which is the most basic structure among all weft knitted fabrics. The loop density, courses density, and wales density are more increased as the loop length is shorter. The loop density increased as pre-treatment process and dyeing process progressed after dry treatment process, and on the contrary, the heat setting process made it decreasing. After the dyeing process proceed, the loop density and the course density were displayed the highest values. When the knitted fabrics were fully relaxed, the loop density was $2000/in^2$, the courses density was 52/in, the wales density was 39/in.

Aim of this study is to investigate the dimensional and shrinkage characteristics of the weft knitted fabrics with Polylactic acid(PLA) knitted yarn. This PLA knitted yarn was made of the biodegradability fiber. The structure of weft knitted fabrics that was utilized for this study is the plain stitch, which is the most basic structure among all weft knitted fabrics. As the stitch length is shorter, the stitch density, courses density, and wales density are more increasing. The stitch density increased as pre-treatment process and dyeing process progressed. On the contrary, the heat setting process made it decreasing. The MR(Machine Relaxation) and DR(Dry Relaxation) standard area shrinkage were increasing as wet process progressed and as the stitch lengths are long.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural properties of 100% wool fabrics knitted with various stitch types and to evaluate dimensional stability from shrinkage in wet cleaning and drying. Materials were weft-knitted from twenty-four different stitches with 7 gauge using a computerized flatbed knitting machine. Weight, thickness, density, and length were measured. A domestic washing machine and a tumble dryer were used for the shrinkage test. The results are as follows: Knitted fabrics were divided into 3 groups based on weight per unit area. Porous knits show light weight whilst milano, pintuck, rib stitches belong to the heaviest group. A positive correlation between weight and thickness was found and the same result was obtained for wale density and weight. Dimensional shrinkage of knitted fabrics was increased during repetitive wet cleaning and drying regardless of knit stitches. Especially, fabrics knitted with float, tuck, cable, and links & links stitches samples were contracted more than 15% in the first treatment whereas 2x1 rib stitch showed 1% shrinkage rate. Fisherman and milano stitches contracted in both course and wale direction with similar shrinkage rates. However, porous knits with float and tuck stitches shrank in course direction by 20% as well as cable samples contracted from 5% to 20% after repeated washing and drying. On the other hand, 30% and 15% contraction of wale direction occurred in orderly float and links & links stitches, respectively. Machine dried knits have a higher shrinkage rate than air-dried knits, but the drying method did not affect to the direction of contraction. In conclusion, variations of knit, tuck, and float stitches affect knit construction and dimensional stability from shrinkage in wet cleaning and drying of wool knitted fabrics.
This paper investigated the wearing performance of knitted fabrics made of air vortex yarns using PTT/tencel/cotton fibres in comparison with ring and compact yarns for emotional garment. Wicking property of knitted fabric made of MVS yarns was worse than those by ring and compact yarns, however, drying property of knitted fabric made of MVS yarns was better than those by ring and compact yarns, which was explained as more water vapor transport due to larger openness between fibres in the MVS yarns than those in the ring and compact yarns. Thermal conductivity of knitted fabric made of MVS was lower than those of ring and compact yarns and maximum heat flow(Qmax) at the transient state of MVS knitted fabric was lower than those of ring and compact yarns, which may be attributed to MVS yarn structure that has parallel fibres in the core part of the yarn and fasciated fibre bundles on the sheath part with roughness on the yarn surface. However, pilling of MVS knitted fabric was better than those by ring and compact yarns, which was caused by less and shorter hairy fibres protruded from MVS yarn surface than those of ring and compact yarns. It was observed that tactile hand of MVS yarn knitted fabrics was stiffer than those of ring and compact yarns knitted fabrics. It was explained by low extensibility and compressibility and high bending and shear rigidities of the MVS yarn knitted fabrics, which resulted in bad wearing performance of MVS knitted fabric.

We performed the objective sensibility evaluation on knitted fabrics by the following procedures: setting acrylic fabrics with knitted fabrics as basis, knitted five kinds of blended spun yarns and four kinds of twisted filament yams made by different twisting methods(the amount and direction of twist) then, measuring mechanical properties in the use Kawabata Evaluation System, obtaining hand values and total hand values. The results are as follows: First, A(F)/W acrylic/wool spun knits obtain high scores in bending, compressing, shear properties, MMD, and thickness among five kinds of acrylic-blended knit fabrics. A(S)/W acrylic/wool blended knit represented prominent values at compressing properties and thickness and so wool-blended yams demonstrated superior characters comparing other blended yarns. To contrast, acrylic/rayon blended knits showed low scores in bending properties, shear properties and thickness, so that it affects to total hand values. On the one hand, among the four kinds of acrylic filament knitted fabrics, they do not exhibit any notable dynamic differences such as tensile properties of knitted fabrics by the twist number and direction of filament yarns, bending, shear, compressing properties, weight and thickness except surface properties. Second, fabrics showed the most high score at FUKURAMI (fullness and softness) among the hand values. A(S)/W acrylic/wool blended knits obtaining the lowest values at SAHRI (crispness) outrank at total hand values, so that it was the predominant knitted fabric in objective sensibility evaluation. In total hand values, five kinds of acrylic blended knits got a higher score than four kinds of acrylic filament knits, and the amount and direction of twist did not influence on total hand values among the four kinds of acrylic filaments.
This study examined the water absorption and drying properties of the thirteen types of the knitted fabrics for sports wear. These physical properties were analysed with relation to the constituent fiber cross-sectional shape and structure parameters of the knitted fabrics by regression analysis. Absorption and drying properties of the knitted fabric specimens were increased with increasing the porosity of the constituent yarns, which was attributed to the capillary channels in the yarns. The water absorption and drying properties were increased and decreased with increasing tightness factor and stitch density of the knitted fabric. The absorption property of the knitted fabric for perspiration absorption and fast dry sport-wear clothing was mostly influenced mostly by fiber cross-sectional shape and its characteristics, whereas, drying property was dependent on the structural parameters of the knitted fabric such as tightness factor and stitch density. Therefore, superior perspiration absorption and fast drying knitted fabric could be obtained in the fabric structure with optimum tightness factor and stitch density, and constituent yarn structure with non-circular fiber crosssection and high porosity. GATS method and MMT method are used to measure sweating fast drying properties and it is necessary to carry out studies using these measurement methods in order to compare with the results of this study.

Drying processes often cause knitted fabrics to shrink. This study obtains proper drying conditions for in the dryer use that can minimize knitted fabric shrinkage by investigating changes in shrinkage according to drying conditions. The experiment samples were all machine washable plain, mesh, and lacoste knitted fabrics made of 100% cotton. Samples were first washed in a washing machine on a normal cycle. They were then layered on a flat surface in an artificial climate chamber and dried for 24 hours at $20^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$, respectively. Shrinkage was measured for 180 minutes at 30 minute intervals after washing. The comparison results of the shrinkage in the washing and drying process indicate that 80.0% and 23.0% shrinkage of plain knitted and lacoste knitted fabrics occurred during the washing process. As the samples dried, the shrinkage of the plain and lacoste knitted fabrics then rapidly increased after approximately 30.0% moisture content. The highest air drying shrinkage occurred over one cycle with insignificant changes in shrinkage after repeated treatments.

Effect of fixation methods and relaxation treatment on the dimensional stability and physical properties of MDPPA/HMM treated cotton knitted fabrics were studied. Combination of four different fixation methods - relaxation, swelling agent treatment, pad dry cure fixation, and wet fixation - were applied to flame retardant finish of 4 kinds of cotton knitted fabric with MDPPA/HMM. Then these fabrics were washed 10 times. As a result, In swelling treatment on 10G showed relatively higher value of length shrinkage than 14G. Length and width shrinkage were increased by initial washing treatment and no further change was shown after 6 washing cycles. After 10 washing cycles, length and width shrinkage decreased. The KES standardized basic value of B/W, 2HB/W and bursting strength of interlock were relatively larger than those of single jersey. The values of B/W and 2HB/W of cotton knitted fabrics were increased by relaxation and washing treatment but were decreased by swelling treatment. In addition, the bursting strength of the cotton knitted fabrics was decreased after fusing, washing and relaxation treatment.
