This paper considers a new variation of scheduling problems where jobs are dispatched in batches. The variation is the case where the batch sequence is fixed. The objective is to minimize the sum of the completion times of the batches. This simple environment has a variety of real world applications such as part kitting and customer order scheduling. We show that this problem is binary NP-complete when there exist two machines. For the same problem, we develop an optimal dynamic programming (DP) algorithm which runs in pseudo-polynomial time. We finally prove the optimality of the DP algorithm.

This paper deals with an automated storage carrousel which handles work-in-process(WIP) such as small parts for kitting. The system has been used predominately for order picking applications. Throughput performance of the system can be measured by the inverse of the expected order picking time. Analytic models are developed for approximating the expected times under the "nearest-item" sequencing rule. The performance of the models are tested through computer simulation. The gap between the two is shown to be reasonably small.

Spandex is a elastomeric fiber in which the-fiber-forming substance is a long chain polymer consisting of at least 85% segmented polyurethane. In the polyurethanes there are the additional oxygen atoms in the main chains of the molecule. The effect of these oxygen atoms is to make the molecule somewhat more flexible. From a physical point of view, elasicity and recovery from stretch are the most important properties of polyurethane, so its use has now expanded into many kitting industry. In this paper, I wish to Test the effect of dyeing condition on the quality of polyurethane.

의료 서비스는 환자 뿐 만 아니라 의료 행위의 주체인 의료진에게도 제공되어야 한다. 이 연구는 에스노그라피를 통해, 의료 행위를 수행하는 의료인들의 행태를 살펴보고 처치를 위한 물리적인 의료 행위 중 가장 많은 빈도로 수행하는 행위를 도출하였다. 특히, 심층 인터뷰를 통해 의료인의 침습 의료 행위 시, 인지하는 행위의 중요성과 수행과정의 니즈를 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 의료진의 신속한 물리적 의료 행위와 환자와의 관계를 위한 심리적 의료 행위를 포함하는 4가지의 경험적 가치 요소를 정의하였다. 정맥 수액 요법용 의료 소모품 키트 디자인 제안과 함께 디자인 프로토타입을 제작하여, 디자인 요소를 검증하였다. 의료 소모품의 키트화는 처치 전체 과정에 있어 준비 및 폐기 과정을 간소화함으로 업무의 효율성을 높힐 수 있다.
