Current tanks have been developed to increase mobility and firepower, and its maximum range and destructive power are improved. This great change causes remained vibration of a gun barrel after firing. For this reason, people are trying to control vibration of gun barrel effectively. This thesis presents a modeling method and analysis results for gun barrel by using a thermal shroud as an absorber mass. DTS(Dynamically Tuned Shroud) is a vibration damping system using a thermal shroud as an added mass for decreasing remained vibration. The model has an advantage that the gun barrel's vibration can be decreased by dissipating a kinetic energy of thermal shroud without install an additional dynamic absorber to tip of the gun barrel. For analyzing the damping performance of the DTS, We derived an equation of motion of the barrel after setting a mathematical modeling, and found out the frequency analysis and tendency according to stiffness ratio between barrel and shroud.
A new high-energy organic potassium salt, 2-(dinitromethylene)-1,3-diazepentane potassium salt K(DNDZ), was synthesized by reacting of 2-(dinitromethylene)-1,3-diazepentane (DNDZ) and potassium hydroxide. The thermal behavior and non-isothermal decomposition kinetics of K(DNDZ) were studied with DSC, TG/DTG methods. The kinetic equation is $\frac{d{\alpha}}{dT}$ = $\frac{10^{13.92}}{\beta}$3(1 - $\alpha$[-ln(1 - $\alpha$)]$^{\frac{2}{3}}$ exp(-1.52 ${\times}\;10^5$ / RT). The critical temperature of thermal explosion of K(DNDZ) is $208.63\;{^{\circ}C}$. The specific heat capacity of K(DNDZ) was determined with a micro-DSC method, and the molar heat capacity is 224.63 J $mol^{-1}\;K^{-1}$ at 298.15 K. Adiabatic time-to-explosion of K(DNDZ) obtained is 157.96 s.

The rate constants for the hydrolysis of styryldiphossphine oxide(SDPO) were deter-mined by ultraviolet visible spectrophotometric method and rate equation which can be applied over wide pH ranges was obtained. On the basis of pH-rate profile, hydrolysis product analysis, general base catalysis and substituent effect, a plausible hydrolysis mechanism is proposed : Below pH 4.5, the hydrolysis reaction is pro-ceeded by the attack of water to carbocation after protonaticentration of hydroxide ion.

Sodium alginate and chitosan are added to a $CaCl_2$ solution to prepare calcium-alginate-chitosan and calciumalginate gels. After dehydration through stoving, two types of adsorbent particles are obtained. The adsorption process of the particles obtained for low concentrations of $Sr^{2+}$ satisfies a second-order kinetic equation and the Freundlich adsorption model. The thermodynamic behaviors of the particles indicate that adsorption occurs via a spontaneous physical process. XPS pattern analysis is used to demonstrate the adsorption of $Sr^{2+}$ by calcium alginate and chitosan. By building an interaction model of the molecules of chitosan and alginate with $Ca^{2+}$ and $Sr^{2+}$ to calculate energy parameters, Fukui index, Mulliken charge, and Mulliken population, adsorption of $Sr^{2+}$ on the molecular chains of chitosan as well as the boundary of calcium-alginate-chitosan is observed to show weak stability; by contrast, adsorption between molecular chains is high.
A metallurgical model for the prediction of prior austenite grain size considering the dissolution kinetics of M$_3$C precipitates at the heat affected zone of SA508-cl.3 was proposed. The isothermal kinetics of grain growth and dissolution were respectively described by well-known equation, $dD/dT=M({\Delta}F_{eff})^M$ and Whelan's analytical model. The isothermal grain growth experiments were carried out for measure the kinetic parameters of grain growth. The precipitates of the base metal and the specimens exposed to thermal cycle were examined by TEM-carbon extraction replica method. The model was assessed by the comparison of BUE simulation experiments and showed good consistencies. However, there was no difference between the model considering and ignoring $M_3C$ precipitates. It seems considered that pinning force exerted by $M_3C$ Precipitates was lower than driving force for grain growth due to large size and small fraction of precipitates, and mobility of grain boundary was low in the lower temperature range.

The kinetics of the addition of thiourea to cinnamenylisophorone derivatives(X : H, p-Br, $p-CH_3$$m-CH_3$, $p-OCH_3$) was investigated using ultraviolet spectrophotometry in 20%(v/v) dioxane-$H_2O$ at $25^{\circ}C$. A rate equation which can be applied over wide pH range(pH $1.0{\sim}13.0$) was obtained. In order to investigate the substituent effects of cinnamenylisophorone derivatives. Hammett constant was plotted. As the result, the rate of uncleophilic addition of thiourea to cinnamenylisophorone derivatives was facilitated by electron donating group. It was found that addition of neutral thiourea which was not dissociated at the pH $1.0{\sim}9.0$ was proceeded, the reaction was proceeded by addition of dissociated anion of thiourea above the pH 10.0. On the basis of this kinetic study, the reaction mechanism of nucleophilic addition of thiourea was investigated.

Turbulent flow and heat transfer characteristics around staggered tube banks were studied using the 3-D Navier-Stokes equations and energy equation governing a steady incompressible flow, which were reformulated in a non-orthogonal coordinate system with cartesian velocity components and discretized by the finite volume method with a non-staggered variable arrangement. The predicted turbulent kinetic energy using RNG $k-{\varepsilon}$ model was lower than that of standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model but showed same result for mean flow field quantities. The prediction of the skin friction coefficient using RNG $k-{\varepsilon}$ model showed better trend with experimental data than standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model result. The inclined flow showed higher velocity and skin friction coefficient than transverse flow because of extra strain rate ($\frac{{\partial}w}{{\partial}y}$). Also, this was why the inclined flow showed higher local heat transfer coefficient than the transverse flow.
Anionic polymerization of ${\varepsilon}$-caprolactam via $SO_2$/KOH catalysis was attempted in order to find an optimal reaction condition and physical properties of the polymers. The yield of conversion was relatively low at low temperature and high at high temperature between $150^{\circ}C\;to\;180^{\circ}C$ regardless of $SO_2$/KOH mole ratio in polymerization of ${\varepsilon}$-caprolactam.The inherent viscosity of nylon 6 obtained via $SO_2$/KOH catalysis was 1.2∼2.7. The kinetic equation for the $SO_2$/KOH catalyzed polymerization has been derived and experimentally verified.
In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, the effects of temperature and pH to the catalytic reaction velocity of cupric -thiocyanate and the quantities of reduction products adsorbed on the D.M.E. have been studied by polarographic method. According to these experiments, the following empirical equation has been derived for the relation among temperature $T_i$, concentration of hydrogen ion $pH_i$ and adsorbed cuprous-thiocyanate in moles/$cm^2Z_{ij}$, and rate constant log$K_{ij}$$$log\;K_{ij}=\frac{1}{T_i}\{A(pH_j)+B\}+C(pH_j)+D$$$$Z_{ij}=\frac{1}{T_i}\{{\alpha}(pH_j)^{\frac{1}{2}}+{\beta}\}+{\gamma}(pH_j)^{\frac{1}{2}}+{\delta}$$ where, A,B,C,D and {$\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma},{\delta}$ are constants. The Calculated values by both equations are well agreed with empirical values within 8% in the error.
This work focuses on the behavior of the overpotential increase due to a utilization rise in a molten carbonate fuel cell. The behavior is generally explained by Nernst loss, which is a kind of voltage loss due to the thermodynamic potential gradients in a polarization state due to the concentration distribution of reactant species through the gas flow direction. The evaluation of Nernst loss is carried out with a traditional experimental method of constant gas utilization (CU). On the other hand, overpotential due to the gas-phase mass-transport resistance at the anode and cathode shows dependence on the utilization, which can be measured using the inert gas step addition (ISA) method. Since the Nernst loss is assumed to be due to the thermodynamic reasons, the voltage loss can be calculated by the Nernst equation, referred to as a simple calculation (SC) in this work. The three values of voltage loss due to CU, ISA, and SC are compared, showing that these values rise with increases in the utilization within acceptable deviations. When we consider that the anode and cathode reactions are significantly affected by the gas-phase mass transfer, the behavior strongly implies that the voltage loss is attributable not to thermodynamic reasons, namely Nernst loss, but to the kinetic reason of mass-transfer resistance in the gas phase.
