  • Natural rock mass contains defects of different shapes, usually filled with inclusions such as clay or gravel. The presence of inclusions affects the failure characteristics and mechanical properties of rock mass. In this study, the strength and failure characteristics of rock with inclusions were studied using the particle flow code under uniaxial compression. The results show that the presence of inclusions not only improves the mechanical properties of rock with defects but also increases the bearing capacity of rock. Circular inclusion has the most obvious effect on improving model strength. The inclusions affect the stress distribution, development of initial crack, change in crack propagation characteristics, and failure mode of rock. In defect models, concentration area of the maximum tensile stress is generated at the top and bottom of defect, and the maximum compressive stress is distributed on the left and right sides of defect. In filled models, the tensile stress and compressive stress are uniformly distributed. Failing mode of defect models is mainly tensile failure, while that of filled models is mainly shear failure.

  • In most cases, the routing policy of networks shows a preference for a static one-to-one mapping of communication pairs to routing paths, which offers adversaries a great advantage to conduct thorough reconnaissance and organize an effective attack in a stress-free manner. With the evolution of network intelligence, some flexible and adaptive routing policies have already proposed to intensify the network defender to turn the situation. Routing mutation is an effective strategy that can invalidate the unvarying nature of routing information that attackers have collected from exploiting the static configuration of the network. However, three constraints execute press on routing mutation deployment in practical: insufficient route mutation space, expensive control costs, and incompatibility. To enhance the availability of route mutation, we propose an OpenFlow-based route mutation technique called Polymorphic Path Transferring (PPT), which adopts a physical and virtual path segment mixed construction technique to enlarge the routing path space for elevating the security of communication. Based on the Markov Decision Process, with considering flows distribution in the network, the PPT adopts an evolution routing path scheduling algorithm with a segment path update strategy, which relieves the press on the overhead of control and incompatibility. Our analysis demonstrates that PPT can secure data delivery in the worst network environment while countering sophisticated attacks in an evasion-free manner (e.g., advanced persistent threat). Case study and experiment results show its effectiveness in proactively defending against targeted attacks and its advantage compared with previous route mutation methods.

  • In this paper a body-centered cubic(BCC) crystal plasticity model based on microscopic dislocation mechanism is introduced and numerically implemented. The model is coupled with irradiation effect via tracking dislocation loop evolution on each slip system. On the basis of the model, uniaxial tensile tests of unirradiated and irradiated RPV steel(take Chinese A508-3 as an example) at different temperatures are simulated, and the simulation results agree well with the experimental results. Furthermore, crystal plasticity damage is introduced into the model. Then the damage behavior before and after irradiation is studied using the model. The results indicate that the model is an effective tool to study the effect of irradiation and temperature on the mechanical properties and damage behavior.

Because of the evolution of IC card hardware fabrication technologies IC card will be able to accept asymmetric key encryption algorithm in the future. One of the most restrictive points of IC card is memory capacity. Therefore it is an important problem to design a secure IC card operating system using memory in small. In this paper we proposed a key file search mechanism using a key length field inserted in a key file header structure. The key file search mechanism makes IC card execute any key-based encryption algorithm. In addition we proposed inserting a lock field in data file header structure. The lock field intensifies the security of a data file. Finally we proposed a data file search mechanism and free space search mechanism using only data file header. The file system using these mechanisms spends smaller memory than that using a file description table and record of unallocated space.

  • Chlor-alkali industry is one of the largest electrochemical processes which annually producing 70 million tons of sodium hydroxide and chlorine from sodium chloride solution. $DSA^{(R)}$ (Dimensionally Stable Anodes) electrodes such as $RuO_2$ and $IrO_2$, which is popular in chlor-alkali process, have been investigated to improve the chlorine generation efficiency. Although DSA electrode has been developed with various researches, understanding of the chlorine evolution mechanism is essential to the development of highly efficient DSA electrode. In this review paper, chlorine generation mechanisms are summarized and that of key factors are identified to systematically understand the chlorine generation mechanism. Rate determining step, effect of pH, reaction intermediate, and electrode crystal structure were intensively overviewed as key factors of the chlorine mechanism.

  • The prevention of cancer is one of the most important public health and medical practices of the $21^{st}$ century. We have made much progress in this new emerging field, but so much remains to be accomplished before widespread use and practice become common place. Cancer chemoprevention encompasses the concepts of inhibition, reversal, and retardation of the cancer process. This process, called carcinogenesis, requires 20-40 years to reach the endpoint called invasive cancer. It typically follows multiple, diverse and complex pathways in a stochastic process of clonal evolution. These pathways appear amenable to inhibition, reversal or retardation at various points. We must therefore identify key pathways in the evolution of the cancer cell that can be exploited to prevent this carcinogenesis process. Basic research is identifying many genetic lesions and epigenetic processes associated with the progression of precancer to invasive disease. Many of these early precancerous lesions favor cell division over quiescence and protect cells against apoptosis when signals are present. Many oncogenes are active during early development and are reactivated in adulthood by aberrant gene promoting errors. Normal regulatory genes are mutated, making them insensitive to normal regulatory signals. Tumor suppressor genes are deleted or mutated rendering them inactive. Thus there is a wide range of defects in cellular machinery which can lead to evolution of the cancer phenotype. Mistakes may not have to appear in a certain order for cells to progress along the cancer pathway. To conquer this diverse disease, we must attack multiple key pathways at once for a predetermined period of time. Thus, agent combination prevention strategies are essential to decrease cancer morbidity. Furthermore, each cancer type may require custom combination of prevention strategies to be successful.

  • In order to investigate the damage evolution law of rock specimens under cyclic loading, cyclic loading tests under constant loads with different amplitudes were carried out on limestone specimens with high strength and brittleness values using acoustic emission (AE) technology and the energy evolution and AE characteristics were evaluated. Based on dissipated energy density and AE counts, the damage variable of specimen was characterized and two damage evolution processes were analyzed and compared. The obtained results showed that the change of AE counts was closely related to radial deformation. Higher cyclic loading values result in more significant radial strain of limestone specimen and larger accumulative AE counts of cyclic loading segment, which indicated Felicity effect. Regarding dissipated energy density, the damage of limestone specimen was defined without considering the influence of radial deformation, which made the damage value of cyclic loading segment higher at lower amplitude loads. The damage of cyclic loading segment was increased with the magnitude of load. When dissipated energy density was applied to define damage, the damage value at unloading segment was smaller than that of AE counts. Under higher cyclic loading values, rocks show obvious damage during both loading and unloading processes. Therefore, during deep rock excavation, the damages caused by the deformation recovery of unloading rocks could not be ignored when considering the damage caused by abutment pressure.

  • Information Systems(IS) departments face many challenges in today's rapidly changing environment. One approach to understanding the challenges by IS departments is to survey IS managers in order to elicit their key issues. The study compares and contrasts the major findings of key information systems management issues in Korea and United States. It examines the key concerns of IS managers on these areas focusing on identifying and explaining regional similarities and differences. IS managers in Korea and United States show a reasonable level of agreement on the most critical issues they face. In some of the issues the differences are found and possible reasons for these differences are discussed. The study concludes by suggesting an evolution model that can explain the changing nature of the IS issues across time and nations.

  • The complete larval development of Chiromantes haematocheir was obtained by laboratory rearing. Five zoeal and one megalopal stages are described and illustrated in detail. Morphological characteristics of the larvae slightly differ from those of Lee (1988), especially in the setal presence of mouthpart appendages. Seven sesarminid zoeas (Parasesarma acis, Parasesarma pictum, Perisesarma bidens, Sesarmops intermedius, Chiromantes dehaani, Chiromantes haematocheir, and Nanosesarma gordoni) can be distinguished from each other in characters of the carapace spines, the antennal exopod and the fork of telson. A provisional key is first provided to aid the identification of seven sesarminid zoeas in Korea.
