  • We reviewed Korean species of the genus Pimpla and confirmed 12 species. In this genus, 36 species have been reported from the Eastern Palaearctic region, eight species were from Korea. Also, we report four species, Pimpla albociliata Kasparyan, 1974, Pimpla femorella Kasparyan, 1974, Pimpla kaszabi (Momoi, 1973) and Pimpla melanacrias Perkins, 1941, which were newly recorded for the first time from Korea. Among them, Pimpla nipponica Uchida, 1928 is recorded from United States and the Nearctic region for the first time. A key to Korean species of the genus Pimpla, diagnoses and illustrations of adult external structures are provided.

  • A hippolytid shrimp, Lebbeus grandimana, is described from the southern part of the East Sea and this is the first record of the species in Korea. The genus Lebbeus of the family Hippolytidae currently comprises four species in Korea. A key to identify the four species of the genus Lebbeus from Korean waters is provided.

  • Korean species of the subfamily Lycorininae Cushman & Rohwer are reviewed. This subfamily along with three species, Lycorina triangulifera Holmgren, 1859, L. spilonotae Chao, 1980, and L. ruficornis Kasparyan, 2007, are reported for the first time from Korea. In this genus, five species have been reported from the Eastern Palaearctic region, six species from China and two species from Japan. Some species of this subfamily is known as parasitoids of Crambidae and Tortricidae. We report three newly recorded species from Korea, Lycorina triangulifera, L. spilonotae, and L. ruficornis, and provide diagnoses with photographs of lycorinine species and a key to the Korean species.

  • Cleantioides planicauda (Benedict, 1899) has previously been recorded in China and Japan. In the present study, to our knowledge, we report for the first time the occurrence of this species in South Korea. Here, we provide detailed descriptions and illustrations of the diagnostic characteristics of C. planicauda. Further, for the first time, we determined the partial sequence of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) gene of C. planicauda for molecular characteristic. Additionally, we provide a key to the Korean species and distribution of the genus Cleantioides. As a result of this study, four species of the genus Cleantioides, including C. planicauda, have now been recorded in South Korea.

  • Out of the 12,100 slide-mounted specimens of Chironomidae collected throughout Korea from February 1977 to March 2016, 271 (2.2%) were from the genus Ablabesmyia (Diptera, Chironomidae, Tanypodinae). These 271 specimens were re-examined and eight species were identified, with three of these species shown to be new to science (A. hanea n. sp., A. microlongistyla n. sp., and A. paralongistyla n. sp.). It was discovered that A. monilis reported in 1981 and A. longistyla reported in 2009 had been misidentified, and corrected as A. prorasha in the present study. Among the eight species found from Korea, A. prorasha was predominant (37.8%), followed by A. longistyla (28.9%), and A. monilis (20.4%). A key of the eight species of Ablabesmyia found in Korea is provided.

  • A halacarid species of Scaptognathus teuriensis $Ab{\acute{e}}$ is recorded from Korea on the basis of the specimens collected from littoral sandy sediments at Dokdo Island, the easternmost island off Uleung Island of South Korea. Korean specimens coincide well with the key characters in the original description for types from Hokkaido, Japan, such as male genitoanal plate comprising only pars sclerosum, bipartite female genitoanal plate with six perigenital setae, rounded posterior margin of anterior dorsal plate, second and fifth dorsal setae both positioned at membranous cuticle, leg chaetotaxy of bipectinate setae on tibiae I-IV of 4-2-2-2, and tarsi of all legs armed with paired large lateral claws with accessary teeth and small median claw. Redescription based on Korean specimens and scanning electron microscope photomicrographs are provided herein. This is the first record of the genus from Korea.

  • To verify the trustworthiness of messages, public key certificates and certificate revocation list(CRL) has been standardized for vehicular networks. However, timely distribution of large CRLs to vehicles should be more elaborated with low bandwidth utilization from a practical point of view. To address this concern, we propose a CRL distribution scheme using long term evolution(LTE) point-to-multicast transmission, namely the enhanced multimedia broadcast multicast service(eMBMS). The schem is much more resource efficient than the existing unicast CRL distribution schemes for vehicular networks and it allows realizing the regional CRL distribution schemes efficiently in LTE network. By means of ns-3 simulation, we analyze the performance, latency, and execution time of the scheme in terms of varying coverage of the multimedia broadcast multicast service over single frequency network (MBFSN).

  • The purpose of this study is to examine France's regional development policy in terms of rural development since the end of World War II. Following decentralization in 1982, France's regional and rural development policies have been focused on the interrelated actions of government, local authorities and European authorities. The aim of their works was to extend the dispersal of industrial activities to the reorganization of the rural space. The rural development policies aimed to the agricultural modernization in the 1950s have differed in their goals, methods, and implements. France's regional and rural development clearly illustrates the key role played by the government despite the decentralization and the challenges of the europeanization leading to a unique market of European nations. This reinforces the fact that the government is instrumental in organizing population distribution and regulating regional decision centers to harmonize both national objectives and local authorities' concerns. The French experience will be helpful as reference in the field of regional and rural development for Korea which has recently begun decentralizing.
