Acidic drug selective electrodes based on metal(II)-di-2-pyridyl ketone-acidic drugs ternary complex as electroactive material were prepared. The metal ions, $Fe^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, $Ni^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$ were used. Nitrophenyl ether series were used as plasticizers. The electrodes exhibit a fast stable and linear response for $5{\times}10^{-5}{\sim}10^{-3}mol/L$ mefenamic acid (MA) in borate buffer solution (pH 8.9) and ibuprofen(Ib) in phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0). The recovery test for mefenamic acid and ibuprofen using standard addition method were 99.0% and 98.4% with relative standard deviation of 2.4% and 2.6% respectively.

Treatment options for edentulous patients are complete denture and implant prosthesis. A two implant-retained overdenture can be considered the first treatment in the edentulous mandible, but there is no clear consensus of treatment for edentulous maxilla. Implant-retention/support overdenture shows better retention and stability than complete denture and is less expensive and more esthetic than implant-supported fixed prosthesis. CM $LOC^{(R)}$$Pekkton^{(R)}$ attachment is a solitary type attachment and evaluated to have excellent abrasion resistance and retention with a female part made of poly-ether-ketone-ketone. Meanwhile, SR Ivocap system is injection molding method and discussed to show few changes in the vertical dimension of denture and have excellent fracture resistance. In this case, we restored maxillary arch with a four implant-retained overdenture using CM $LOC^{(R)}$$Pekkton^{(R)}$ and SR Ivocap system, and mandibular arch with a removable partial denture. Through this procedure, satisfactory outcomes were achieved both in functional and esthetic aspects.
Fully grown amphibian oocytes undergo their maturation (germinal vesicle breakdown, GVBD) during in vitro follicle culture when they are stimulated with frog pituitary homogenate (FPH) or progesterone. Present experiments were designed to determine whether proteolytic enzymes are involved in the regulation of the matunation process. Treatment of a $\alpha$ -chymoiyypsin inhibitor, N a -tosyl-L-phenylalanine-chloromethyl-ketone(TP) to the oocytes exhibited a biphasic phenomenon, the induction of the maturation without added hormone at relatively low doses (0.001-1 $\mu$M) and inhibition of the hormone induced oocyte maturation at a high dose (100 $\mu$M). Treatment of a trypsin inhibitor, N a -tosyl-L-lysine-chloromethyl ketone(TLCK) to the oocytes did not induce the maturation, but rather suppressed the hormone induced oocyte maturation in a high dose(100 $\mu$ M). Treatment of exogenous iyypsin to the oocyte induced their maturation without added hormone in a dose dependent manner (0.001-1 $\mu$ M). The data presented here indicate that some proteolytic enzymes play a role in the regulation of the maturation(meiotic arrest or reinitiation) in amphibians.

The objective of this study was to estimate the environmental factors affecting milk ${\beta}$-hydroxybutyric acid (BHBA) and acetone (Ac) concentrations in Holstein cattle. A total of 264,221 test-day records collected from the Korea Animal Improvement Association (KAIA) during the period of 2012 to 2014 were used in this study. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed to determine the factors significantly affecting ketone body concentrations. Parameters considered in the model were season of test, season of calving, parity, lactation stage, and milk collecting time (AM and PM). According to the ANOVA, the $R^2$ for milk BHBA and Ac were 0.5226 and 0.4961, respectively. 'Season of test' showed a considerable influence on ketone body concentration. Least square (LS) means for milk BHBA concentrations was the lowest ($39.04{\mu}M$) in winter while it increased up to $62.91{\mu}M$ in summer. But Ac concentration did not significantly change along with 'season of test'. The means of milk BHBA and Ac concentrations were high at first lactation stage, low around second lactation stage, and then gradually increased. Cows milked in the morning had lower mean BHBA and Ac concentrations ($48.49{\mu}M$ and $121.69{\mu}M$, respectively) in comparison to those milked in the evening ($53.46{\mu}M$ and $130.42{\mu}M$, respectively). The LS means of BHBA and Ac slightly increased over parities. These results suggest that proper maintenance of milk collection, herd management programs, and evaluation of ketone body levels in milk should be considered for the efficient management of resistance to ketosis.

The characterization of the ozone oxidation for raw natural rubber (NR) was investigated under controlled conditions through image and fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis. The ozone oxidation was performed on a transparent thin film of raw NR coated on a KBr window in a dark chamber at $40^{\circ}C$ under low humidity conditions to completely exclude thermal, moisture, or light oxidation. The ozone concentration was set at 40 parts per hundred million (pphm). Before or after exposure to ozone, the image of the thin film for raw NR was observed at a right or tilted angle. FT-IR absorption spectra were measured in the transmission mode according to ozone exposure time. The ozone oxidation of NR was determined by the changes in the absorption peaks at 1736, 1715, 1697, and $833cm^{-1}$, which were assigned to an aldehyde group (-CHO), a ketone group (-COR), an inter-hydrogen bond between carbonyl group (-C=O) from an aldehyde or a ketone and an amide group (-CONH-) of protein, and a cis-methine group ($is-CCH_3=CH-$, respectively. During ozone exposure period, the results indicated that the formation of the carbonyl group of aldehyde or ketone was directly related to the decrement of the double bond of cis-1,4-polyisoprene. Only carbonyl compounds such as aldehydes or ketones seemed to be formed through chain scission by ozone. Long thin cracks with one orientation at regular intervals, which resulted in consecutive chain scission, were observed by image analysis. Therefore, one possible two-step mechanism for the formation of aldehyde and ketone was suggested.
This study examines multiple quality optimization of the injection molding for Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK). It also looks into the dimensional deviation and strength of screws that are reduced and improved for the molding quality, respectively. This study applies the Taguchi method to cut down on the number of experiments and combines grey relational analysis to determine the optimal processing parameters for multiple quality characteristics. The quality characteristics of this experiment are the screws' outer diameter, tensile strength and twisting strength. First, one should determine the processing parameters that may affect the injection molding with the $L_{18}(2^1{\times}3^7)$ orthogonal, including mold temperature, pre-plasticity amount, injection pressure, injection speed, screw speed, packing pressure, packing time and cooling time. Then, the grey relational analysis, whose response table and response graph indicate the optimum processing parameters for multiple quality characteristics, is applied to resolve this drawback. The Taguchi method only takes a single quality characteristic into consideration. Finally, a processing parameter prediction system is established by using the back-propagation neural network. The percentage errors all fall within 2%, between the predicted values and the target values. This reveals that the prediction system established in this study produces excellent results.

Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) composite including tungstophosphoric acid(TPA) membranes have been intensively investigated for polymer electrolyte membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) and thus covalently linked sulfonated polyether ether ketone (CL-SPEEK) with captured TPA composite membranes were prepared and characterized. Sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) was prepared in sulfonation of PEEK and was cross-linked with 1,4 diiodobutane. The carbonyl group of SPEEK was reduced with $NaBH_4$ and 3-isocyanatepropyltriethoxysilane (ICPTES) was added. The TPA captured composite was prepared in reaction of TPA with 3-mercaptopropyltrime thoxysilane (MPTMS). The polymer composite membranes showed better thermostability and electrochemical properties than SPEEK. The membranes were prepared by sol-gel casting method. The polymer composite membrane featured 0.1285 S/cm of proton conductivity at $80^{\circ}C$ and outstanding durability.

Polyoxometal molybdophosphoric acid (MoPA) bonded polyether ether ketone (PEEK) composite membrane for water electrolysis has been investigated. The composited membrane, covalently cross linked (CL) sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) with a bonded MoPA, was prepared in sulfonation of PEEK, cross linkage reaction with 1,4-diiodobutane, and addition with MoPA. PEEK was covalently cross-linked with 1,4-diiodobutane to improve mechanical strength and was added with MoPA to increase proton conductivity. MoPA should be fixed to back bone of SPEEK to prevent bleeding out. Therefore, the carbonyl group of SPEEK was reduced with NaBH4 and 3-isocyanatepropyltriethoxysilane (ICPTES) was added. The MoPA bonded composite was produced in the reaction of MoPA with 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxvsilane (MPTMS). In conclusion, MoPA bonded CL-SPEEK composite membrane featured 0.129 S/cm of proton conductivity at $80^{\circ}C$, and 2,156 hours of chemical stability in Fenton test. These properties are better than those of membranes of other SPEEK system.
