Colombini 방법에 의한 요추부 추간판 크기 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study of Estimation of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Size by Colombini's Method)

  • Purpose: As a preliminary study, the purpose of this study was to examine the indirect estimation of the lumbar intervertebral disc size by two anthropometric methods, in order to compare these indirect methods with the direct analysis by radiological imaging. Methods: The wrist, elbow, knee, and ankle joint (both right and left) diameters were measured in 52 volunteers, and then intervertebral disc size was calculated using two anthropometric methods (Colombini and modified Colombini). The data were analysed with independent t-test to assess clinical usefulness. Results: When using right and left joint diameter, there was no significant difference in the estimation value of the L4-5 and L5-S1 intervetebral disc sizes. However, the study has shown that male subjects have significantly larger L4-5 and L5-S1 intervertebral disc sizes, compared with those of female subjects. In addition, disc sizes calculated by Colombini's formula were significantly larger than modified Colombini's formula. Conclusion: The indirect estimation of the intervertebral disc size by anthropometric method can be considered as a clinically useful method. However, further study should be conducted to compare anthropometric values with other radiological imaging.

  • The purpose of this study is to research a specific material characteristics of top down concrete at column joint and to reduce column joint opening. Based on the established top down study, the experiment to apply an real construction case is performed. When the concrete placed into joint of top down column, raised air bubble is left as opening. This study is examined the incomplete packing reason in the top down column and found to air deflation method. The result of study is below (1) As the method to minimize column opening caused from confined air, it is required that an air exhaust port installation in joint column. (2) From air exhaust port installation, most of air bubble in column part is exhausted. As the concrete placing height is going up, air bubble size is going smaller.

맞대기 용접시의 각변형 거동에 관한 연구 (Behavior of angular distortion in butt joint welding of thin plate structure)

  • The behavior of angular distortion in butt joint wleding of thin plate structure is investigated with an experimental model and partially with a computational model. The experimental model studying the effects of specimene size and degree of restraint on the angular distorion offers a good method for analyzing the behavior of the distrotion. In addition, the distrotion during welding was demonstrated by both experimental measurement and numericla prediciton. The facts evealed in this study are as follows : 1) distrotion angles were changed with variations of specimene wldth. 2) With the restraint, angular distrotion was reduced to 20% to that of free joint. 3) After the restraint being removed, the effect of restraint was also remained. 4) Same heat input per unit thickness caused same amount of distortion. 5) The mode of angular distortion was expected to be changed with expected to be changed with time, i.e. convex movement during heating and concave one during cooling.

  • Currently, advanced countries such as European countries and Japan invest lots of efforts to develop improvement of electric power production and supply, environmental countermeasure, and renewable energy development. Accordingly, Korea has been putting efforts to all kinds of electric related technical development based on the mid-long term plan. Further, it is necessary to increase effectiveness of R&D investment by propelling joint research activities with advanced countries for development of important technologies. Based on this background, this study tries to find thought-provoking suggestions of energy projects, programs and policies. For a comparative analysis, Japan which is similar to Korea in terms of market size and policies, and EU where joint research has been actively carried out among nations are analyzed and compared to policies and joint R&D activities of Korea.

윤활제 함침 나일론과 금속의 접합특성 (Joint Characteristics of Lubricant-Impregnated Nylon and Metals)

  • The joint method and characteristics of lubricant Impregnated MC nylon and metal are analyzed. Considering the productivity and economics, two materials are Joined with the process of turning, knurling, and induction heating. The Joint strength is determined by adhesion of the melted nylon, the size of knurl, and the interference from the difference of the diameters. The parameters affecting induction heating process are analyzed. The adhesion strength of the melted nylon is measured. Finally the joint strength is analyzed in the environments of low, room, and high temperature. The nylon/metal Joined material is expected to be widely used as the sliding machine elements with good friction and shear strength.

  • Conventional methods for reducing vibration in engineering designs may be undesirable in conditions where size or weight must be minimized, or where complex vibration spectra exist. Some alloys with a combination of high damping capacity and good mechanical properties can provide attractive techanical and economical solutions to problems involving seismic, shock and vibration isolation. In this paper, it showed the noise and vibration characteristic was compared conventional rail joint to improved rail joint(damping alloy) for reducing noise and vibration. Its applicability to rail joint is discussed.

콘크리트포장의 줄눈의 잠김에 대한 연구 (A Study for Joint Freezing in Concrete Pavement)

  • 줄눈콘크리트포장의 줄눈은 온도 및 습도변화에 기인하여 발생하는 슬래브내에 무작위하게 발생하는 균열을 제어할 목적으로 설계된다. 이러한 인위적인 균열 (줄눈)은 자연발생적인 균열에 비하여 줄눈채움, 하중전달장치등의 보호대책을 강구하는 것이 용이하다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 줄눈채움의 잠재적인 이점은 표면수의 하부층으로의 침투로 인한 하부층의 약화 및 비압축성 물질 (작은 입자위 골재)의 줄눈내에 끼어듦으로 인한 스폴링을 방지하는데 있다. 합리적인 줄눈 채움의 설계를 위해서는 줄눈폭의 변화 (줄눈의 수평 움직임)의 산정이 중요한 입력요소이다. LTPP SMP 연구에 포함된 16개의 줄눈콘크리트포장의 줄눈의 수평움직임에 대한 장기 현장계측자료를 토대로 상당수의 줄눈에서 수평움직임을 허용하지 않고 있다는 것이 밝혀진바 있다. 이러한 현상을 줄눈잠김이라고 한다. 줄눈잠김이 발생하는 원인은 설계상에 계획된 줄눈부의 균열이 발생하지 않기 때문이라고 추정된다. 본 연구에서는 임의의 줄눈콘크리트포장에서 줄눈잠김의 비율을 예측할 수 있는 모델을 제시하였고 줄눈 잠김이 포장체의 성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다.

암석의 절리면 거칠기 정량화 기법 개발을 통한 절리면 전단강도 특성 분석 (Analysis fo the Rock Joint Strength Characteristics Using New Rock Joint Roughness Quantification Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 절리면 거칠기를 정량적으로 산출하기 위하여 표면 거칠기 계수, Rs를 이용한 측정방법을 제안하고, 이를 바탕으로 절리면 거칠기가 절리면 전단강도에 미치는 영향을 제시하였다. 제시된 Rs를 이용하여 새로운 절리면 전단강도 모델을 제안하였다. 연구 결과, 표면 거칠기 계수인 Rs는 암반의 절리면 거칠기를 정량적으로 표현할 수 있는 유용한 방법이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. Rs에 의한 암코아 규모의 절리면 거칠기 측정에는 최대 측정간격으로 2mm, 최소 측정 길이로 5cm가 적당하나, 이를 대규모의 현장 절리면에 확대 적용하기 위해서는 변동규모(scale of fluctuation), $\delta_u$를 도입하여야 한다. 절리면 거칠기가 작은 경우, 전단강도는 절리면에서의 미끄러짐으로 유발되었으나, 거친 절리면에서의 전단강도는 거칠기의 일부분이 파괴됨으로 인하여 발생됨을 알 수 있었다.

390MPa급 고장력강판의 경치기 레이저 용접에서 부분용입 용접의 적용 가능성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Feasibility of Partial Penetration Laser Welding for the Lap Joint of 390MPa High Strength Steel Sheets)

  • After high power lasers are avaliable in the commercial market, the number of applications of the laser welding has been increased in manufacturing industries. Although the tailored blank laser welding of butt jointed steel sheets is well known recently in the automotive industries, the lap joint laser welding is a new technology to the automotive manufacturing people as well as the design people. But the deep penetration laser welding seems to be preferred to the partial penetration welding for the lap joint welding in the automotive manufacturers because the partial penetration is a serious deflect for the butt joint. In this study, the feasibility of partial penetration welding fur the lap joint $CO_2$ laser welding was studied fur the 1mm thick 390MPa high strength steel sheets for automotive bodies. The process window of the lap joint partial penetration welding was obtained from experiments with the gap size and the welding speed as process parameters. The partial penetration welding was found excellent on the basis of the tensile shear strength and sectional geometry. The bead width, input energy Per volume, tensile-shear strength, deformation energy and the sectional geometries after tensile-shear tests of partial penetration welded specimens are compared with those of full penetration welded specimens with a series of gaps and welding speeds.

KSTAR 용 소선-소선 접합부의 직류저항 계산 (Calculation of DC resistance of strand-to-strand joints for KSTAR)

  • Since the strand-to-strand type joint far CICC (Cable-In-Conduit Conductor) is small in size and has low DC resistance, it is expected to be useful type fur a superconducting magnet system which had a compact structure like the KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) coil system. The DC resistance is changed according to the distribution patterns of strands in cables connected together in the joint. A commercial code was used for the calculation of the DC resistance. With the decrease of outer diameter of the Joint, Which means the increase of strand volume fraction in the joint, the calculated DC resistance decrease rapidly and non-lineally. The variation of resistance depends mainly on the volume fraction of solder which has higher resistivity than copper. The resistance decrease inversely with the increase of the length of the joint. The resistance increase with increase of number of triplets in each stack contacted with that of another terminal cable. In case of the strand-to-strand joint that has 62mm of outer diameter, 52mm of inner diameter, 100mm of overlap length, and four triplets in each stack, the calculated DC resistance is less than 1 n-Ohm.
