Purpose: This review aimed to integrate the results of studies related to job embeddedness of clinical nurses and suggest directions for future research. Methods: A search for relevant studies was conducted using six databases according to the predetermined index terms "nurse" and "job embeddedness." A total of 28 studies that met the inclusion criteria were selected and analyzed. Results: The definition of job embeddedness was consistent in the articles, but the terms, scope, and use of tools to determine job embeddedness were not. In addition, no article suggested a theoretical framework. In all the studies except one, the tool used to measure job embeddedness was one revised from Mitchell et al. (2001). In 15 articles, a negative correlation was found between job turnover and turnover intention. Job embeddedness was also found to be associated with nurses' work environment, organizational citizenship behavior, and organizational commitment, and it had a positive impact on these variables. Conclusion: Job embeddedness can be used as a major variable to explain nurses's turnover intention. Job embeddedness is multidimensional, and a theoretical framework is needed to explain the job embeddedness of clinical nurses. Tools specific to Korea should be developed to measure the job embeddedness of Korean clinical nurses.
This study was designed to measure the degree of work stress perceived by clinical nurses working in psyciatric ward, and to identify the factors influencing the difference of work stress. The survey method was used and the subjects of this study consisted of 135 psyciatric nurses from 7 university hospitals and 4 provincial general hospitals. The data were collected from August 1 to 20, 1988. The instrument used for this study was PNOSS(Psychiatric Nurse Occupational Stress Scale) which was developed by Bai(1989). The confidence verification of this instrument was computed and the Cronbach $\alpha$ was 0.94050. Data were analysed by t-test and ANOVA on 5% significant level with SPSS program. The results of study were summerized as follow : 1) The degree of perceived stress among psychiatric nurses was considerably high(4.32 out of 6.00). 2) Among the stressors, inadequate staffing(5.04), hospital administrational problems (4.7) and the conflict of nurse-patient relationship were identified as the stress factors with high rank of degree of stress. 3) There was significant relationship between the degree of stress and the demographic variables of nurses such as the marital status, educational level, and the motivation of working in psychiatric ward. 4) There was significant relationship between the job-related variables such as the working duration, the motivation of working and nurse's attitude toward the psychiatric patients. 5) The relationship between several stress factors and some of the demographic and the job-related variables were significantly identified.

This research was carried out to investigate the determinants of job performance and turnover intention of female advisors in mobile communication contact centers located in Daegu. The independent variables are individual characteristics, work duty related variables, working environments and the leadership of the middle managers. The factor analysis and the hierarchical regression analysis were implemented to the subjects of 282 advisors which gathered from 7/14/2008 to 7/23/2008. The results are as follow. First, the older advisors were, the higher job performance was. The higher educational background presented more turnover intention, and married advisors had higher job performance than unmarried ones. Second, the longer employment period showed higher job performance. Third, As advisors were more satisfied with promotion and welfare policy, and with coworkers, higher job performance was presented. As advisors had lower satisfaction with policy and authority, they showed higher turnover intention. Fourth, the leadership of middle managers positively had a influence on job performance and turnover intention. As the middle managers motivated and encouraged advisors well, the advisors showed higher job performance. If the middle managers showed lower charisma leadership, the advisors was intended to turnover more. Fifth, the most influential factor of advisors' job performance and turnover intention was working environments.

Data were obtained from 112 dental hygienists who are currently working for dental clinics from September 17th 2007 to October 16th 2007 via questionnaires. For this study, the demographic factors and unique characteristics of Dental Hygienists are considered as well as all the variables of statistic. The results derived from using SPSS 11.0 are as follows: 1. The average of job related factors is 2.55 point, the average of job satisfaction is 2.59 point, the average of salary related factor is 2.24 point and the average of changing their occupation is 2.85 point. 2. The difference between the factors related to age and changing their occupation shows the highest level on job related factors.(pM0.033) in the age between 26 and 30. 3. Dental Hygienists who are in their occupation for 6years to 9 years answer that salary would be the main reason to change their jobs. 4. For married dental hygienists, salary related factor is the main reason to make them change their occupation.(pM0.002)
Purpose: The present study was intended to measure fatigue symptoms according to the quality of sleep among nurses working for an university hospital and to reveal its related factors. Methods: The self-administered questionnaires were given to 397 nurses employed in an university hospital located in Daejeon City during the period from June 1st to July 31st, 2007. Results: The group with higher quality of sleep accounted for 78.1% of all the subjects and the one with lower quality, 21.9%. According to qualities of sleep, the fatigue symptom was determined to be significantly higher in the group with lower quality of sleep than its counterpart. On adjustment for quality of sleep, the level of fatigue symptom was significantly higher in the groups, than in each respective counterparts, who don't take regular exercises, who have few leisure time, who have lower level of subjective health status, who range ${\geq}$ 1 and < 10 years in job careers, who work in shifts, who reported that it is hard to get physical burden of work, who are satisfied with the job, who find themselves unfit to the job, who are considering quitting the job, who have higher job demand, who have lower job control, who have higher level of supervisor support, who have type A behavior pattern. Conclusion: The study results may explain that the fatigue symptom of nurses is highly associated with the quality of sleep independently of other variables and also with job-related characteristics independently of the sleep quality. In conclusion, to reduce the fatigue symptom of nurses, strategic efforts should be directed for programs to improve the quality of sleep and a proper job analysis.
In the literature, it is pointed that distributive justice explains pay satisfaction and job satisfaction better than procedural justice, and procedural justice explains organizational commitment and researcher's evaluation about the supervisor better than distributive justice. We empirically tested if these findings are valid in R&D institutes with the data collected from Korean R&D professionals. It is found that the relations between the justices and the outcome variables are more complicated. The result of the analysis shows that distributive justice is also significantly related to organizational commitment, but not to job satisfaction, and procedural justice is also significantly related to pay satisfaction, and job satisfaction. Implications of the findings and possible influence of the R&D setting are discussed.
This study was conducted to analyze working mother's affectionate and authoritarian behavior according to social demographic variables, life satisfaction, self-esteem, and Job characteristics. Questionnaires were developed and administered to 152 working mothers with 5th and 6th emementary school graders in Gwangju City. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : First, there was no significant differences in working mothers' child-rearing behavior according to social demographic variables. Second, affectionate behavior showed a significant difference according to all sub-factors of self-esteem, and authoritarian behavior showed a significant difference only in moral behavior and self-value. Third, there was a significant difference in both child-rearing behavior according to life satisfaction of working mothers. Fourth, according to job-related variables, there was a significant difference in the affectionate behavior, but not in the authoritarian behavior. Fifth, moral behavior and self-value had significant positive influencies on mother's affectionate behavior, and life satisfaction had negative influencies on authoritarian behavior.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify variables influencing task performance of wound ostomy continence nurses (WOCN). Methods: Data were collected from 80 WOCN in Korea from September to October 2011 using a self-reported questionnaire. Variables consisted of task performance, empowerment, professional autonomy, job satisfaction and job-related variables. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Professional autonomy was a major predictor of task performance of WOCN (F=37.37, p=<.001). Empowerment(F=33.10, p=.001) and completion of the professional education course for wound ostomy continence nursing WOCN(F=7.46, p=.008) were the other significant predictors of task performance. The regression model explained 45.3% of task performance. Conclusion: Professional autonomy, empowerment and completion of the professional education course contribute to task performance of WOCN. These findings have important implications for organizations hoping to achieve the maximum potential of WOCN's professional role. Therefore, strategies for reinforcement of professional autonomy, empowerment, and completion of professional education course are necessary for WOCN working in South Korea.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct a structural equation model of organizational commitment in hospital nurses based on a job demands-resources model and to confirm the moderating effect(s) according to the nurses' generation. Methods: The model was constructed of the exogenous variables of social support, emotional intelligence, emotional labor, and job conflict and the endogenous variables of burnout, job engagement, and organizational commitment. The participants were 560 hospital nurses working in 3 general hospitals. Data were collected from August 1 to September 30, 2021, and analyzed using SPSS Window 23.0 and IBM AMOS 23.0. Results: The strongest factor directly influencing hospital nurses' organizational commitment was social support. In a multiple group analysis, nurses' generation had a partial moderating effect. In a generation-specific analysis, the Z generation group was higher than the X and Y generation groups in the variables of emotional labor and burnout related to organizational commitment. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, to improve hospital nurses' organizational commitment, social support is needed as an important management strategy. At the organizational level, we need to develop ways to improve organizational commitment by reducing the emotional labor and burnout of Generation Z.
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the differences in organizational commitment, nursing organization culture, and job satisfaction of Korean nurses employed in Korea and the United States, and to determine how these variables were associated with selected study characteristics. Methods: An exploratory cross-sectional study was performed with a convenience sample of 357 nurses from Korea and the U.S. Data were collected by using a web site survey and self-reported questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients were used for data analysis. Results: In comparison to Korean American nurses (KAN), Korean nurses (KN) were younger, single, worked more time, took a charge role or higher, and had less turnover experience. After controlling for age and marital status, nursing organization culture and job satisfaction of KN were significantly lower than those of KAN, respectively (F= -26.02, p<.001; F= -4.87, p=.028). Significant relationships among selected socio-demo-health and work-related characteristics and the three variables were higher for KN. Conclusion: Higher organizational commitment and nursing organization culture from all Korean nurses were related their perceived high level of job satisfaction. Recommendations for further study include exploring a larger sample size of a variety of different types of nursing organizations and staff as well.
