Influence of Burnout on Job Commitment in Dental Hygienists: in the Gyeongsang-do region (치과위생사의 소진이 직무몰입에 미치는 영향: 경상도 지역을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the burnout of dental hygienists on their job commitment. The subjects were 156 dental hygienists. Structured questionnaire surveys were conducted. Maslash Burnout Inventory scale and the tool developed by Kang was used. The burnout and job commitment was each divided into three factors; emotional depletion, accomplishment decrease and dehumanizing and organizational commitment, career commitment, and work commitment. The dental hygienists' burnout score was 3.77 points and commitment score was 3.53 points. Burnout was higher among those with clinical careers shorter than five years and smaller numbers of colleague. Those with higher burnout showed higher career involvement and those with longer careers and higher salaries showed higher organizational commitment. Dental hygienists' career that higher burnout was associated with lower degrees of job commitment. Therefore, efficient manpower management should be ways to maintain of their carrer and increase the salary.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of emotional labor behavior of employee at geriatric long-term care(LTC) facilities on job burnout and service quality focusing on the emotional leadership of superior to improve the working environment of LTC employee and provide the high-quality service to seniors. First, it is appeared that between emotional labor behaviors deep acting has a negative effect on job burnout, in contrast surface acting has a positive effect on job burnout. and, emotional labor behavior has positive influence on service quality. Second, self efficacy has partial mediating effect of tangibility, reliability, assurance and empathy on service quality only for the deep acting between emotional labor behaviors. Third, between emotional labor behavior, emotional leadership has moderating effect on emotional depletion and deterioration of personal accomplishment. In contrast, moderating effect of emotional leadership is not appeared on surface acting and depersonalization. In conclusion, further study is required to improve service quality of elderly in LTC facility and working environment of LCT facility workforce.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact on job satisfaction of the chinese bank staff by judging their motivators and hygiene factors. To explore the regulation of demographic characteristics between motivators, hygiene factors and job satisfaction. In the banking organization through the use of various elements of motivation duties assigned to meet organizational objectives put forward in order to achieve an effective incentive scheme given. In summary the results of analysis, the impact on motivator and job satisfaction in the work itself the result of regression analysis, promotion and recognition of the growth and job satisfaction in order to affect a positive sense of accomplishment and responsibility on the other hand, the task appeared was found not to affect satisfaction. The motivators of the bankers its positive influence on job satisfaction than hygiene factors were relatively high. And moderating effect of demographic characteristics and to validate the results, demographic characteristics and health factors are motivation and job satisfaction in the relationship between the presence of the control effect was analyzed. The relationship between motivation and job satisfaction is the demographic characteristics were analyzed to control that acts as a tour director, Hygiene factors influence job satisfaction is based on demographic characteristics was analyzed the age and education have been shown to exist, while Sex, tours, position the relationship between job satisfaction and hygiene factors do not exist in the control effect was analyzed.

  • This Paper is the Thesis that Reports Empirical Results on the Effect of Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture on the Job Attitude of Immigrant Labor and the Mediating Effect of Psychological Well-being. In order to Accomplishment this Goal, an Empirical Study was Implemented. The Data for an Empirical Study was Obtained from the Survey on 205 Immigrant Labor from Vietnam in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. And Multiple Regression Analysis was Conducted to Examine the Research Hypothesis. The Summary of Empirical Study's Results is Follows. 1) Among Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture, Native Culture-related Media Behavior, Meeting with Native Companions and Persistence of Native Religious Activity have the Positive Effect on the Job Attitude Significantly. 2) Eating Native Food have the Negative Effect on the Job Satisfaction Significantly. 3) There are Mediating Effects of Psychological Well-being on the Relationship Between the Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture and Job Attitudes. Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture has Significant Positive Effect on Job Involvement and Job Satisfaction Indirectly Via Mechanisms Such as the Spillover Effect of Psychological Well-being. That is, The more Immigrant Workers do Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture, the Higher Psychological Well-being is and it Improves Their Job Involvement and Job Satisfaction. The Implication of these Results, the Limitation of this Study and the Direction of Future Study were Suggested.

The Impacts of Work Environment on the Job Satisfaction among the Landscape Architecture Workers in South Korea (조경분야 종사자들의 직무환경이 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to empirical understanding on the impact of work environment on the job satisfaction among the landscape architecture workers through conduct survey. The results was found that the affecting factors of environment in landscape architecture workers were work environment, personal relationship, and job compensation on jab satisfaction, but were not affected between workload and job satisfaction (p<0.05). And this implied that personal relationship in job environment factors was critical factor to decide the levels of job satisfaction (${\beta}$ value 0.233) across the landscape architecture workers. The results guessed the factor that workload among the job satisfaction is or is not statistical significant in many research were because it depends on whether the task is passively recognized or positive recognized according to the job recognition situation. The results was guessed the fact that the affecting factors of the workload among the job satisfaction of landscape architecture workers is not statistical significant were because they have their works cut out for them, makes worthwhile if they thinks that were meaningful and feel have been growing capabilities and recognized that there is a social contribution, and feel the great sense of accomplishment of self-development and self-realization nevertheless they have much their's works.

The Perception of Professionalism of the Design Practitioners Working in the Architectural Design Firms (건축설계디자인 실무 종사자의 직업의식)

  • This study examines the perception of professionalism of the design practitioners working in the architectural design firms. Data from the survey questionnaire were collected from 271 participants. Major findings were as follows: 1) Professional ethics and research were the two most important components of the profession. 2) Experience was the most important factor determining pay, promotion, and competency. 3) Job-related educational program was most highly supported by the company. 4) Participants' perceptions toward licensing and professional association were negative. 5) Self-accomplishment and aptitude were the main reasons to choose the profession. 6) Independent attitudes were found toward intellectual property. 7) Participants felt proud of their job but thought their social status was below medium.

  • This study focused on the Healthy Family Support Center and Multicultural Family Support Center, which supervise the main field of family resource management with institutional household factors. Our research objective was to present datas demonstrating an improvement in the organizational effectiveness of the Multicultural Family Support Center. The burn out average of employees working for the non-profit organization was 2.45, emotional burnout was 2.87, achievement was 2.43, and dehumanization was 2.06. The effectiveness average of the nonprofit organization was 3.56, profitability was 3.65, job satisfaction was 3.58, and organizational commitment was 3.45. The generic characters that caused burnout were age, information, and professionalism in research. The generic characters and burnout that affected the organizational effectiveness included a lack of accomplishment, and emotional exhaustion, and depersonalization, lack of information and professionalism, lack of external resources in that order. The purpose of this research was to determine the effects of burnout in order to prevent job changes and to provide basic data for the improvement of organizational effectiveness.

A Study on the Factors Retarding the Development of Public Libraries in Korea - With a Special Reference to the Consciousness of Librarians & Users- (한국의 전통문화와 공동도서관에 관한 연구)

  • This study hypothesizes that the present deadlock situation in public library development in Korea has chiefly been caused by the underdevelopment of the consciousness of the librarians themselves presently employed in various levels of public libraries throughout the country. This study, therefore, aims to define the areas in librarians' consciousness in which elements of backwardness prevail, and thereby to produce a theoretical framework to develop public library services in Korea on an indigenous footing. To do this, the present author set up a relationship between the traditional consciousness of the Korean People and the public library performances, based on existing published materials. In order to prove hisirelatonship, he then sent out questionnaires to public librarians and male high school students and analyzed the answered questionnaires using Pearson's Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. Results of the analysis are asfollows: 1) Those who place an importance on the show of respectability tend to prefer to work in an indirect services area. 2) Male librarians tend to show a job satisfaction because of chances of promotion reflecting a positive correlation between this-worldiness of librarians and their job satisfaction. 3) Male librarians tend to be satisfied in their job for the conviction for their self-accomplishment, and female librarians tend to be satisfied in their job for the attention and respect they receive from users. 4) Library technicians tend to draw their job satisfaction from their sense of job stability. 5) Male librarians tend to be dissatisfied for the lack of the monetary rewards they receive, while female librarians tend to be dissatisfied for the lack of promotional chances. 6) Most librarians tend to maintain a positive job attitude for the promotional chances, reflecting a positive correlation between this­worldliness in librarians and their service attitude. 7) Power-orientednes in librarians and their job satisfaction correlate negatively in the case of male librarians. This does not apply to female librarians. 8) Power-orientedness and good service attitude correlate negatively in the case of male librarians. This does not apply to female librarians. 9) The fact that male high school students desire to enter good colleges and universities and to obtain a position in his job positively correlate to the fact that public libraries have transformed themselves into a mere reading room. 10) Male library science students show a maladjustment in their major department in earlier years for the professional uncertainty, and as they advance into senior years they show a positive attitude about the library profession.

Burnout Process Model of Social Workers: Analysis of the Paths from the Job-related Stressors, Job-stress and Professional Self-efficacy to Burnout (사회복지사의 소진과정(Burnout Process) 모델 - 직업관련 스트레스 요인, 직무스트레스와 전문직효능성에 의한 소진 경로분석 -)

  • This study aims to find out the determinants of burnout in order to better understand the burnout process among social workers. For this purpose, a hypothetical model which explains the relationships among 8 job-related stressors (role ambiguity, role overload, difficulties in solving problems of clients, conflict with the clients, lack of support from the supervisor, closed communication pattern, bureaucracy, and lack of accountability), 4 mediators (job-stress, professional role performance, abiding by the agency policy and partiality in service delivery), and 4 dimensions of burnout (physical exhaustion, psychological exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment) was developed. Using the data collected from 207 social workers, the hypothetical model was tested. For data analysis, a path analysis was used, and the best-fitting model was found(df=66, $x^2$=63.250, GFI=0.962, CFI=1.00). As a result of this study, the following results were found. Burnout among social workers was increased by the 6 job-related stressors(role ambiguity, role overload, difficulties in solving problems of clients, conflict with the clients, lack of support from the supervisor, closed communication pattern). Job-stress, the mediating variable of the emotional path to burnout, increased professional role performance and the abiding by agency policy, and finally increased burnout. On the other hand, professional self-efficacy (which consists of professional role performance, abiding by agency policy and partiality in service delivery), the mediationg variable of the cognitive path to burnout, reduced burnout when the professional role performance was high, and abiding by agency policy and partiality in service delivery were low.

A Study on the Key Success Factors for Knowledge Management of the Venture Businesses Listed in KOSDAQ (벤처기업의 지식경영 성공요인 도출에 관한 연구: 코스닥 상장기업을 대상으로)

  • Recently, Korean economy is boosted by the active introduction of many venture businesses full of entrepreneurship. It has been widely accepted implicitly that success of the venture business originates from unique style of knowledge management. This assumption looks natural when we consider the fact that success of the venture business heavily depends on differentiated intelligent asset or knowledge. However, such implicit belief has never been tested empirically. To fill the research void like this, this paper proposes an empirical derivation of key success factors from the venture businesses listed in KOSDAQ. To add rigor to our results, we performed regression analysis by using the derived key success factors as independent variables, and introducing organization efficiency, job satisfaction, and accomplishment motivation as dependent variables. Regression results showed that our approach is justified from the statistical perspective.
