비대칭분류의 노즐출구영역에서의 난류유동장 해석 (The Near Field Structure of Initially Asymmetic Jets)

  • The near field structure of round turbulent jets with initially asymmetric velocity distribution is investigated experimentally. Experiments were carried out using a constant temperature hot-wire anemometry system to measure streamwise velocity in the jets. The measurements were undertaken across the jet at various streamwise stations in a range starting from the jet exit plane and up to a downstream location of twelve diameters. The experimental results include the distribution of mean and instantaneous velocities, vorticity field, turbulence intensity, and the Reynolds shear stress. The asymmetry of the jet exit plane was obtained by using circular cross-section pipes with a bend at the upstream of the exit. Three pipes were used for this study: A straight pipe, 90 and 160 degree-bended pipes. Therefore, at the upstream of the pipe exit, the secondary flow through the bend and the mean streamwise velocity distribution could be controlled by changing the curvature of pipes.

초음속 동축 스월제트의 유동특성에 대한 연구 (Study of Supersonic, Dual, Coaxial, Swirl Jet)

  • The present study addresses an experimental investigations of the near field flow structures of supersonic, dual, coaxial, swirl jet. The swirl stream is discharged from the secondary annular nozzle and the primary inner nozzle provides the sonic and supersonic free jets. The interactions between the secondary swirl and inner soni $c^ersonic jets are quantified by a fine pilot impact and static pressure measurements and are visualized by using a shadowgraph optical method. The pressure ratios of the secondary swirl and primary soni $c^ersonic jets are varied below 7.0. Experiments are conducted to investigate the effects of the secondary swirl stream on the primary sonic and supersonic jets, compared with the secondary stream of no swirl. The results show that the presence of annular swirl stream causes the Mach disk to move more downstream, with the increased diameter, and remarkably reduces the fluctuations of the impact pressures in the supersonic dual coaxial jet, compared with the case of the secondary annular stream of no swirl.swirl.

Observation of the Rebound Shock Waves and the EUV Brightening of a Light Bridge Jet

  • Hα jets of cool chromospheric plasma are protruding into the solar corona 10-100 Mm above the photosphere. The driving mechanisms of Hα jets have been widely studied for decades. However, the detailed process is still elusive. We observed shock signatures moving along a dark jet using 1.6 meter Goode Solar Telescope at Big Bear Solar Observatory. The first shock front of the jet shows sharp --- when it moves upward, while fuzzy and granulated when it moves downward. The jet itself extends upward when the second shock front of the jet reaches the top of the jet. We find abrupt EUV brightenings when the second shock front collides with the edge of the jet. The third front and the fouth front quasi-periodically. These phenomena might be the signs of the rebound shock waves triggered by p-mode wave leakages at the bottom of the jets. Our observation suggests that the jet can be triggered by the rebound shock waves generated by the p-mode waves leaked at the bottom of the jets.

FR-II radio jets and the acceleration of UHECRs

  • To investigate the acceleration of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) in relativistic jets of FR-II galaxies, we simulate high-power jets with jet powers of Q~10^46erg/s in a stratified galaxy cluster halo using a state-of-art relativistic hydrodynamic (RHD) code we have recently developed. With the simulated jet-induced flow profiles, we then perform Monte-Carlo simulations, where the transport of high-energy particles is followed assuming large-angle scatterings in the flow-rest frame. We estimate the energy gains and acceleration times in the acceleration processes by shocks, shear, and turbulence. We present the results and discuss implications on the acceleration of UHECRs in FR II radio jets.

원형분사제트 조절을 통한 유동특성 및 제트 벡터링의 효과 고찰 (Experimental Studies on Flow Characteristics and Thrust Vectoring of Controlled Axisymmetric Jets)

  • 자유제트를 제어하는 방법중 하나는 분사제트 주위에 형성되는 와류를 조절하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 제트노즐 주위에 환형관을 설치하여 환형관으로부터 2차제트를 분사 또는 흡입함으로써 제트주위에 형성되는 전단류를 변화시켰다. 2차제트를 분사하는 경우(R<1.0) 주제트 주위에 형성되는 와류의 발달을 억제함으로써 제트포텐셜코어의 길이가 아주 길어지는 제트유동을 얻을 수 있었고 흡입하는 경우에는(R>1.0) 제트주위의 전단류가 흡입비 R=1.3~l.65에서 대류불안정성에서 절대불안정성으로 바뀜으로써 형성된 와류가 하류에서 제트중심부까지 발전, 결합되는 것을 방지하여 더 긴 포텐셜코어와 중심에서 낮은 난류강도를 얻었다. 위의 결과는 환형관 주위에 부착한 깃의 높이 변화에 따라서 변화하였는데, 이것은 깃이 환형관을 통한 흡입유동의 유로역할을 함으로써 출구 주위의 유체가 직접흡입되는 것을 방지하기 때문이다. 분사제트 벡터링을 위하여 제트노즐 주위의 환형관을 이등분하여 한쪽으로만 흡입함으로써 제트주위에 다른 전단류를 형성함과 동시에 코안다(Goanda)효과를 이용하여 분사제트를 편향시켰다. 편향되는 정도 및 난류성분은 흡입속도비에 따라서 크게 바뀌었다. 실험은 속도분포와 난류강도 측정이 수행되었으며 가시화를 이용하여 유동특성을 관찰하였다.

Relationship Between EUV Coronal Jets and Bright Points Observed by SDO/AIA

  • We have investigated the relationship between EUV coronal jets and bright points observed by Solar Dynamic Observatory (SDO)/Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA). For this we consider 39 EUV coronal jets from May 2010 to July 2011 in 171 A identified by Heliophysics Events Knowledgebase (HEK) which provides an automatic identification of coronal jets. We look for coronal jet-bright point pairs as follows. First, we select the size of event area as 360 arcsec * 360 arcsec where the coronal jets are located at the center of the area. Second, we select jet-bright point pairs in case that they are located at the same position or just adjacent. Third, we select jet-bright point pairs that are connected by loops each other. Otherwise, we select jet-bright points pairs as the nearest one. As a result, we present 19 coronal jet-bright point pairs. The mean distance of these pairs is 77.24 arcsec. According to their distance and morphological connection, we classify the following three groups: 1) Adjacent (6 events), 2) Loop connected (5 events), and 3) Not connected in appearance (8 events). The histogram of mutual distance has two peaks; the first peak corresponds to the first group and the other one to the second group. We compare these events with previous observations and theoretical models as well as discuss possible physical connections between jets and bright points.

다충실도 모형화를 통한 공기로 모사된 측방제트가 유도무기의 공력특성에 미치는 영향 연구 (On the Effect of Air-Simulated Side-Jets on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Missile by Multi-Fidelity Modeling)

  • 측방제트는 조종면에 비해 즉각적인 유도무기 기동이 가능하지만 자유류를 간섭하여 공력계수에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 공력계수에 대한 측방제트의 영향을 파악하기 위해 측방제트를 공기로 모사한 후 측방제트 유무에 따른 공력계수 차이를 다충실도 모형을 사용하여 살펴본다. 측방제트 유무에 따라 공력계수 예측 모형으로 추정된 공력계수 간 차이를 계산하여 측방제트의 영향을 마하수, 뱅크각, 받음각의 변화에 따라 조사한다. 분석 결과, 종방향 힘 및 모멘트 계수는 비대칭적으로 발달한 측방제트에 큰 영향을 받았으며, 횡방향 힘 및 모멘트 계수는 -30°와 +30° 사이 뱅크각에서 최대로 변동하였다. 이에 반해 축방향 힘 계수는 측방제트에 영향을 받지 않았으며, 축방향 모멘트 계수는 마하수 변화에 대한 표본 부족으로 측방제트의 영향을 판단하기 어려웠다. 종합하면 측방제트가 종방향 및 횡방향 공력계수에 주요한 영향을 주어 유도무기 자세 변화를 일으킨다는 것을 확인하였다.

Experimental and Computational Study on Separation Control Performance of Synthetic Jets with Circular Exit

  • This paper presents experimental and computational investigations of synthetic jets with a circular exit for improving flow control performance. First, the flow feature and vortex structure of a multiple serial circular exit were numerically analyzed from the view point of flow control effect under a cross flow condition. In order to improve separation control performance, experimental and numerical studies were conducted according to several key parameters, such as hole diameter, hole gap, the number of hole, jet array, and phase difference. Experiments were carried out in a quiescent condition and a forced separated flow condition using piezoelectrically driven synthetic jets. Jet characteristics were compared by measuring velocity profiles and pressure distributions. The interaction of synthetic jets with a freestream was examined by analyzing vortical structure characteristics. For separation control performance, separated flow over an airfoil at high angles of attack was employed and the flow control performance of the proposed synthetic jet was verified by measuring aerodynamic coefficient. The circular exit with a suitable hole parameter provides stable and persistent jet vortices that do beneficially affect separation control. This demonstrates the flow control performance of circular exit array could be remarkably improved by applying a set of suitable hole parameters.

배열 슬롯제트의 노즐간격 변화에 따른 충돌면에서의 열전달 특성 (Heat transfer characteristics of impinging flat plate of multiple slot jets by changing of jet-to-jet distance)

  • An experimental investigation of heat transfer characteristics on confined jet impinging plate using multiple slot jets has been performed. The effects of jet Reynolds numbers(Re=2000, 3950, 5900, 7900), dimensionlesss slot-to-plate distances(H/B=2, 4, 6, 8) and jet-to-jet distances(S=16B, 20B, 24B, 30B) on the local and average heat transfer coefficients have been examined. To clarify local heat transfer characteristics, naphthalene sublimation technique were used. From the experimental results, it was found that the local and average heat transfer rates increase with increasing jet Reynolds number. Measurements of local heat transfer coefficients produced by multiple of slot jets have given an indication of the nature of the interaction between jets and of the uniformity of heat transfer obtainable with various arrangements. At S/B=20, Re=7900 and H/B=6, maximum average Nusselt number is obtained.

  • 이차원 표층방류 밀도분류의 거동을 조사하기 위하여 k-$\varepsilon$ 이방정식 수치모델을 개발하였다. 평균류 및 난류수송에 관한 계산결과를 실험결과와 비교하여 본 수치모델이 이들의 흐름특성을 양호하게 예측할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 방류구에 있어서의 k 및 $\varepsilon$의 설정이 표층 밀도분류의 흐름에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가하였다. 또한, 많은 연구에서 무시되어 왔던 $\varepsilon$ 방정식에 있어서의 부력생성항 및 계수 $C\varepsilon$$_3$의 값에 대한 검토를 행하여 흐름의 전개에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 이차원표층 밀도분류에 관한 계산결과를 제시하고 중요한 몇가지 흐름특성에 대하여 토의하였다.
