Prognostics for Industry 4.0 and Its Application to Fitness-for-Service Assessment of Corroded Gas Pipelines (인더스트리 4.0을 위한 고장예지 기술과 가스배관의 사용적합성 평가)

  • Purpose: This paper introduces the technology of prognostics for Industry 4.0 and presents its application procedure for fitness-for-service assessment of natural gas pipelines according to ISO 13374 framework. Methods: Combining data-driven approach with pipe failure models, we present a hybrid scheme for the gas pipeline prognostics. The probability of pipe failure is obtained by using the PCORRC burst pressure model and First Order Second Moment (FOSM) method. A fuzzy inference system is also employed to accommodate uncertainty due to corrosion growth and defect occurrence. Results: With a modified field dataset, the probability of failure on the pipeline is calculated. Then, its residual useful life (RUL) is predicted according to ISO 16708 standard. As a result, the fitness-for-service of the test pipeline is well-confirmed. Conclusion: The framework described in ISO 13374 is applicable to the RUL prediction and the fitness-for-service assessment for gas pipelines. Therefore, the technology of prognostics is helpful for safe and efficient management of gas pipelines in Industry 4.0.

Purification and Characterization of Six Fibrinolytic Serine-Proteases from Earthworm Lumbricus rubellus

  • The six lumbrokinase fractions (F1 to F6) with fibrinolytic activities were purified from earthworm Lumbricus rubellus lysates using the procedures of autolysis, ammonium sulfate fractionation, and column chromatography. The proteolytic activities on the casein substrate of the six iso-enzymes ranged from 11.3 to 167.5 unit/mg with the rank activity orders of F2 > F1 > F5 > F6 > F3 > F4. The fibrinolytic activities of the six fractions on the fibrin plates ranged from 20.8 to 207.2 unit/mg with rank orders of F6 > F2 > F5 > F3 > F1 > F4. The molecular weights of each iso-enzyme, as estimated by SDS-PAGE, were 24.6 (F1), 26.8 (F2), 28.2 (F3), 25.4 (F4), 33.1 (F5), and 33.0 kDa (F6), respectively. The plasminogen was activated into plasmin by the enzymes. The optimal temperature of the six iso-enzymes was $50^{\circ}C$, and the optimal pH ranged from pH 4-12. The four iso-enzymes (F1-F4) were completely inhibited by PMSF. The two enzymes (F5 and F6) were completely inhibited by aprotinin, TLCK, TPCK, SBTI, LBTI, and leupeptin. The N-terminal amino acid (aa) sequences of the first 20 to 22 residues of each fraction had high homology. All six isoenzymes had identical aa residues 2-3 and 13-15. The N-terminal 21-22 aa sequences of the F2, F3, and F4 isoenzymes were almost the same. The N-terminal aa sequences of F5 and F6 were identical.

Evaluation of Human Exposure to Vibration on Domestic High-speed Train using ISO 2631-1 (ISO 2631-1을 이용한 국내 고속철도차량의 인체진동 노출량 평가)

  • Vibration exposure of domestic high speed trains(KTX and ITX-saemaeulho) to passenger traveling on the Gyung-Bu line was measured to evaluate health effect which is based on ISO 2631-1. The vibration exposure was compared with the frequency weighted root mean square(r.m.s.) and vibration dose value(VDV) of the two trains’ vibration. It is concluded that vibration exposure of the two train during round trip of Busan-Seoul in single day is evaluated to be safe for the passenger’s health according to the health guidance caution defined on ISO 2631-1. Futhermore KTX’s vibration exposure is found to be significantly lower than ITX-saemaeulho thanks to lower vibration magnitude as well as shorter trip time.

pH-Dependent surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering of yeast iso-1-cytochrome c adsorbed on silver nanoparticle surfaces under denaturing conditions at pH < 3

  • We measured the pH-induced spectral changes of yeast iso-1-cytochrome c on silver nanoparticle surfaces using surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) at 457.9 nm. At a pH of ~3, the Met80 ligand in yeast iso-1-cytochrome c is assumed to dissociate, leading to a marked conformational change as evidenced by the vibrational spectral shifts. The Soret band at ~410 nm in the UV-Vis spectrum shifted to ~396 nm at pH~3, indicating a transition from a low spin state to a high spin state from a weak interaction with a water molecule. Thus, SERRS spectroscopy can measure the pH-induced denaturalization of cyt c adsorbed on metal nanoparticle surfaces at a lower concentration with a better sensitivity than ordinary resonance Raman spectroscopy.

  • e-seal은 RFID 기술을 사용하여 원격에서 자동으로 봉인상태를 확인할 수 있는 컨테이너 봉인 장치를 말한다. RFID의 특징상 반도체 칩에 기록된 정보를 제 삼자가 쉽게 판독 및 변조할 수 있다는 취약점이 있는 실정이다. ISO에서는 RFID의 취약점을 보안하기 위한 표준작업(ISO 18185)을 진행 중이다. 이 중, ISO 18185-4는 e-seal에 저장되는 자료나 리더와의 RF통신에서 데이터 보호를 위한 표준이며, 관련된 연구로는 Active-RFID 인증 프로토콜과 ISO 18185-4를 위한 보고서로 제출된 보안 프로토콜 등이 있다. 제안된 e-seal 보안 프로토콜을 적용하기 위해서는 e-seal과 리더 간의 데이터를 암/복호화 키를 Pseudorandom Function(PRF)을 이용하여 마스터 키로부터 MTK(Mutual Transient Key)를 유도하고, MTK를 암/복호화 키로 사용해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 보안 프로토콜에서 사용되고 있는 PRF에 대해 살펴보고, e-seal 환경에서 PRF를 소프트웨어로 구현하였다. 구현 결과 해시 함수를 기반으로 하는 PFR보다 암호화 알고리즘 AES를 기반으로 하는 PRF이 더 좋은 성능을 보였으며, 블록 암호화 알고리즘인 AES-128을 어셈블리어로 구현함으로써 PRF를 최적화하였다.

Cardioprotective effect of Argyreia speciosa (Burm. f) Boj. extracts against Isoproterenol- induced myocardial infarction in rats

  • The present study was undertaken to evaluate the protective effect of ethanol (EtAS), ethyl acetate (EAAS) and aqueous (AQAS) extracts of Argyreia speciosa (AS) roots against Isoproterenol (ISO)-induced myocardial infarction in rats. The animals were exposed to isoproterenol (200 mg/kg. s.c) twice at an interval of 24 hrs. Cardioprotective effect was assessed by observing ECG parameters, serum marker enzymes and histopathology of the heart. Pretreatment of EAAS, and EtAS (200 mg/kg) resulted in a significant (P < 0.001) increase in P wave, QRS complex and R-R interval, whereas heart rate, QT interval and cardiac cycle were maintained near to normal values. EtAS and EAAS showed significant (P < 0.05; P < 0.001) reduction in all the tested diagnostic markers compared to ISO treated group. Histological studies on the structural changes of heart tissue supported the protective activity of AS. The result suggest that treatment of AS prior to ISO has a significant role in protecting the animals from ISO induced myocardial infarction.

A Study on Sizing System for the Competitive Manufacturing Environment of Domestic Apparel Product -Based on the Outerwear of Men in Their Twenties- (우리 나라 의류제품의 국제경쟁력 제고를 위한 사이즈체계 연구 -20대 남성의류 사이즈를 중심으로-)

  • For proper communication among manufacturers in many countries and for consumer's convenience in purchasing garments imported from foreign countries, the ISO revised the size designation system in 1969. Since 1970's many countries have revised their standard sizing system by adopting the ISO system. The purpose of this study is to satisfy domestic consumer's needs by developing a sizing system based on that of ISO for Korean men in their twenties, and to contribute to entering the international fashion market by manufacturing high quality apparel products. The results were as follows: By measuring and analyzing of men in their twenties, average height is 172 cm, average chest girth is 92.8 em, average hip girth is 93.4cm and average drop is 15.8. According to the result to analyzing body type of this study, athletic type(drop 18) is 47.8%, regular type (drop 12) is 37.3%, the 2 types covers 85%.

  • Fire can cause severe damages to human lives, properties, and environment resources regardless to where the fire will be happened and the evaluation methods for fire impact against fire objects such as human, properties are different among nations around the world. ISO TC 92 (Fire safety) has 4 sub committees to develop international standard to harmonize each nation standards and evaluate fire impact and the experts from all around the world participate in preparing international standards on fire. The main purpose of this study is to suggest a new road-map for domestic fire resistant standard of building structures. To make a new road-map two activities of the ISO's major committees and the countermeasures of fire safety from our standards were investigated.

  • A country's participation in international technical standards development directly relates to its trade competitiveness. Many countries adopt international standards or influence their development process through the ISO/IEC. This study applies the ABCD Model to assess such activities through a constructed ITS index, not only in terms of 'level' of contribution but also in terms of 'process' participation that can give important implications related to the future potential influence of countries in standards development. Having examined seven countries, Korea showed the lowest score implying the need to enhance its performance in both 'international standards adoption' and 'internationalization of domestic standards'. Korea needs to more actively participate in currently on-going standards development processes, establish more offices that improve accuracy in the development, and consider participating in additional committees where domestic interests may potentially be at stake. Although KATS has improved greatly in regards to its relevant activities and database construction, a more active and specific plan must be made to allow its efforts to successfully influence Korea in international standards development. Confronted with strong challenges from directly competing countries in trade like China and Japan that showed better ITS scores, there is a need for Korea to step up its research and participation in this field.

Development of BIM Collaboration Framework Based on ISO 19650 (국제표준을 반영한 BIM 협업 프레임워크 개발)

  • In recent years, the mandatory use of BIM has been actively promoted due to the digital transformation of the construction industry. However, the CDE (Common Data Environment) system, which is an essential element for operating BIM, has not been established in accordance with the domestic situation. To solve this problem, this study analyzed the results of previous studies, including the ISO 19650 standard and domestic CDE system requirements, and developed BIM-based collaboration functions that are suitable for the domestic construction industry through functional analysis of domestic and foreign commercial CDE solutions. And we developed a BIM collaboration framework to provide BIM-based collaboration functions as a service by using cloud technologies such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to provide infrastructure resources flexibly and flexibly. The BIM collaboration framework developed in this study meets most of the CDE requirements of ISO1965, so it can secure competitiveness when bidding for overseas BIM projects. Also, because the BIM collaboration functions can be selectively applied to build a BIM-based collaboration platform, it is expected that the utilization of the BIM collaboration framework will be high, as it can minimize not only the time to build the platform but also the operating costs, and the usability is higher than that of existing commercial BIM CDE solutions.
