The purpose of this study is to investigate the involvement strategies in presentation discourse of Korean native speakers and to compare strategies in presentation of Korean learners and international graduate students with that. For this study, the presentation discourse of 13 Korean undergraduates, 21 Korean graduate students, 6 Korean advanced learners, 8 international graduate students was analyzed. The results of the study showed that Korean native speakers used many types of involvement strategies such as conversing, expressing solidarity, expressing closeness. Asking questions to audience was a representative type of conversing. And expressing solidarity was divided using 'we' and sharing experience. expressing closeness was also divided insertion of personal cases and joking. On the other hand, Korean learners and international graduate students used simple types of involvement strategies. Based on these results, I have proposed a few teaching ways for involvement strategies.
Consumers' perception of risk plays a major role in how they make online purchase decisions. Since online shopping is perceived to be riskier than in-store shopping, consumers engage in a variety of risk reduction strategies such as searching online for alternative products and alternative e-tailers. This study examines the influence of risk involvement on risk reduction strategies and customer satisfaction. It discusses three aspects of risk reduction strategies: time spent in making a purchasing decision, searching for alternative e-tailers, and searching for alternative products. Data from 294 female shoppers who had experience in purchasing fashion products online was analyzed. This study found that risk involvement had a positive influence on the time spent in making decisions, while the influence of risk involvement on searching for alternative retailers and alternative products was not significant. However, consumer satisfaction was negatively related to search for alternative retailers and positively related to risk involvement. This study provides a better understanding of customers' risk involvement and risk reduction strategies in online shopping. This information would be beneficial for marketers and retailers to reduce customer perception of risks and to promote online sales.
Purpose - In the development of new products, suppliers involvement and developing products jointly can be said to be strategic activities that utilize the lack of knowledge from external organizations. In this new product development, supplier involvement has been proven to have a positive impact on new product development performance for a long time by previous research. However, sufficient academic research has not been conducted on the influence of supplier involvement in various product strategies or sales strategies that buyers make in order to secure a competitive advantage in the market. This study argues that product strategy and sales strategy used by buyers in the development of new products will control the effect of supplier involvement on new product development performance in order to compensate the lack of these academic aspects. Research design, data, and methodology - Specifically, we selected the modularization strategy of the product as the product strategy, which is considered as an important strategy in the new product development through the preceding research, and the mass customer satisfaction strategy was chosen as the sales strategy. In order to achieve these research objectives, regression analysis was conducted using data from manufacturing productivity panel collected jointly by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Industry and the Korea Productivity Center. Results - As a result, supplier involvement and new product development performances (development cost efficiency, customer satisfaction) were positively related. The product modularity strategy proved to have an interactive effect on the relationship between supplier involvement and new product development performances (development cost efficiency, customer satisfaction). However, it has not been confirmed that there is a statistically significant interaction effect between supplier involvement and new product development performances. Conclusions - Supplier involvement has positive relationships with NPD performance. In addition, product modularity strategies have interaction effects with supplier involvement and affect new product development performance (development cost efficiency and customer satisfaction). The results of this study are of academic significance in the case of lack of empirical studies on the effect of supplier participation on the effect of buyer 's strategy when a supplier participates and develops new products jointly.
Community involvement is to be the keystone of primary health care, Unfortunately, efforts to promote it failed in many countries. Author inquired into the reasons why such efforts fail, and the alternative strategies for effectively promoting it in Korean situation today. In doing so, the concept of community involvement is clarified as an amalgamation of two different concepts; one is that of the community development, and the other is that of approaches for overcoming the alienation of the people from the health care process. Stategies of community involvement in Korea so far followed the line of the community development, e.g. village health worker. It loses, however, the feasibility as Korea has experinced so cial and economic developpment. The strategies of the second line of thought is now more feasible; empowering the people by providing more information and enhancing comitment to health, improving acceptabilty of community involvemt on the part of the health professionals and the bureaucrats, and building the mechanism of community involvement into the health policy-making process.
The demand for personalized products and service of apparel product has increased dramatically. In order to acquire a personalized apparel product, consumers may have to sacrifice more expense or time. The purpose of this study was to investigate various personalization strategies in apparel business and to identify antecedents that influence the process. Clothing involvement and two price related variables (clothing expense and willingness to pay more) were included in the study as antecedents. Four personalization strategies were included in the study: design selection, size customization, in-store service and promotion personalization. For an empirical study, a conceptual model was designed and research questionnaire was developed. A measure of personalization of apparel shopping was developed based on existing scale items of prior research and a pilot study. Data from 766 men and women in their twenties to forties were used for statistical analysis. Structural Equation Modeling was used for the data analysis. Results indicated that the conceptual model was a good fit to data. Structural paths indicated that there was significant influence of clothing involvement on design selection and sales promotion personalization strategies. Involved consumers spent more on chothing products and were likely to pay more on personalized products and services. Monthly clothing expense influenced size customization significantly. It also had negative influence on service related personalization strategies. Consumers were willing to pay more when it comes to product related personalization strategies such as design and size but not necessarily to service related strategies. This study was an attempt to provide an in-depth and synthesized approach on consumer attitudes toward personalization of apparel products.
This Study intended to provide positioning strategies of brand Image for ladies' ready to wear by analysing the perceptual dimensions of working women. The subjects were devided into two groups according to the fashion involvement, and in each group, a positioning map was composed by use of multidimensional scaling. 251 subjects of this study were gathered into stratified sample groups from working women in Seoul, being subdivided according to their each occupation and age. The data were analysed by frequency, percentage, average, $x^{2}-test$, 1-test, Factor Analysis, cronbach's $\alpha$. Also, KYST, PROFIT, PREFMAP for multidimensional scaling were used. The results were as follows. 1. Two groups were identified according to degree of fashion involvement: high-involvement group, and low-involvement group. 2. From the analysis of the similarity of brand image, high involvement group percieved greater difference in brand image than low involvement group. 3. From the analysis of the evaluation of brand attributes, the evaluations in self expression, fashionability, design, sales promotion activity, sociality, quality, fit showed differences bet-ween high involvement group and low involvement group. 4. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between characteristics of social media sites (SNS) and the intention of Pakistani tourists to visit South Korea while determining the role of usefulness, interestingness, and involvement of tourists. Research design, data and methodology: A research model was developed through the previous research, and the questioner-based survey was conducted on Pakistani tourists visiting Korea. The survey data was collected by following multiple hypotheses: the relationship between SNS tourism information and perception of SNS, the relationship between SNS perception and intention to visit, and adjustment of involvement in the relation between tourism information characteristics, and SNS perception. We used SPSS and AMOS24.0 statistical tools to analyze the hypothesis testing data. Results: Based on the data analysis, the study found that the characteristics of SNS have a positive effect on intention to visit via users' perception like usefulness and interestingness. The involvement has a moderating effect between SNS characteristics and users' perception. In the group with high involvement, the degree of influence of the quality factor of SNS on user perception was greater than in the group with low involvement. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that traveler's involvement has a moderating effect on the relationship between SNS characteristics and visit intention for Pakistani travelers visiting Korea. It shows that practitioners or researchers should establish and operate SNS strategies in consideration of user involvement.
Consumer involvement is one of the most important concepts in target marketing. Marketing managers seeking repeat business and a long term relationship with their consumers must understand the process underlying product evaluation. Therefore, the objective of this study was to find out the relationships between consumer involvement and product performance. Judgement sampling method through survey was utilized to collect the data and the subjects were 614 university students. Factor analysis, reliability test, and regression were used to analyze the data. The research results showed that there were three dimensions of product performance, so called, ‘aesthetic’, ‘utilitarian’, and ‘socio-interactive’. Consumer involvement was positively related to all dimensions of product performance. Understanding of the relationship between consumer involvement and product performance would contribute to build useful marketing strategies.
This study investigates the differences in advertisement attitude, brand attitude, and purchase intention based on advertising model and consumer product involvement. A total of 100 respondents in high involvement and 100 respondents in low involvement categories were exposed to the advertisements of a cosmetic brand using 4 different model types: celebrity endorser, expertise endorser, ordinary person as an endorser, and no endorser. The experiment was planned as $2{\times}4$ types including high/low involvement and 4 different model types (25 respondents each). After looking at an advertisement for 1 minute, respondents were asked to answer a survey measuring advertisement attitude, brand attitude, and purchase intension. The results of this study showed that 6 hypotheses were supported and there was a significant difference between the high involvement and low involvement group depending on the advertising models used as well as the advertisement that influence advertisement attitude, brand attitude, and purchase intension. High involvement consumers showed the most favorable advertisement attitude on an advertisement with an expertise endorser, but low involvement consumers showed the most favorable advertisement attitude on an advertisement with a celebrity endorser. High involvement consumers showed the most favorable brand attitude on an advertisement with an expertise endorser whereas low involvement consumers showed the most favorable brand attitude on an advertisement with a celebrity endorser. High involvement consumers showed the highest purchase intention on an advertisement with an expertise endorser whereas low involvement consumers showed no difference in purchase intention depending on advertisement models. This study shows that marketers should differentiate advertising strategies based on consumer involvement.
Vietnam's "Doi Moi", initiated in 1986, translated to high economic growth and rapid urbanization for the country, but also widened the gap between rural and urban areas. Vietnam's National Target Program on New Rural Development for 2010-2020 was aimed at developing the rural economy and improving the living standards of rural people, but after five years the urban-rural gap remains substantial. Two of the main reasons are the lack of investment capital and lack of effective ways to mobilize community involvement. In contrast, during the 1970s, rural areas in Korea experienced huge improvements under the "Saemaul Undong" movement. The program's success at promoting sustainable development in Korea's rural areas has inspired rural programs in other developing countries. In this paper, we compare and contrast the two movements to provide explanations for the different results between the two countries. Based on this analysis, and policy implications stemming from it, we recommend resource mobilization strategies to change villagers' attitude and increase their involvement in Vietnam's rural development movement, aligning with the inclusivity principle "people know, people discuss, people do and people check".
