Currently, the operation of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is regulated to be able to fly only within the visible range, but in recent years, the needs for operation in the invisible area, in the urban area and at night have increased. In order to operate UAVs in the invisible area, at night, and in the urban area, a flight path for UAVs must be prepared like those operated by manned aircraft, and for this, it is necessary to establish an unmanned aircraft system traffic management (UTM). In order to establish the UTM, information on the minimum separation distance to prevent collisions with UAVs and buildings is required, and accordingly, information on the navigation performance of UAVs is required. In order to analyze the navigation performance of an UAV, total system error (TSE), which is the difference between the planned flight path and the actual location of the UAV, is required. If the collected data are insufficient and classification according to integrity, independence, and direction is not performed, accurate navigation performance is not derived. In this paper, propose a navigation performance analysis method of UAV that is derived TSE using flight data and modeled with normal distribution, analyze performance.

The current cellular communications are optimized for low mobility users, meaning that their performance is degraded at high speed. Therefore, passengers in a high-speed train experience very poor radio link quality due to the significantly large number of simultaneous handovers. In addition, wireless data traffic is expanding exponentially in trains, subways and buses due to the widespread use of smartphones and mobile devices. To solve the inherent problem of cellular communication networks and meet the growing traffic demand, this paper proposes the mobile hotspot network of a millimeter-wave communication system as a mobile wireless backhaul. This paper describes the physical layer design of uplink and downlink in the proposed system, and the performances of uplink and downlink are evaluated under Rician fading channel conditions. The implemented baseband prototype of the proposed millimeter-wave communication modem is presented. This system can provide a Gbps data rate service in high-speed trains carrying hundreds of wireless Internet users.
Abstract Nowadays, many multimedia applications for the Internet are introduced as the network gets faster and many techniques manipulating multimedia data are developed. These multimedia applications, however, do not spread widely and are not fast as expected at their introduction time due to the poor quality of image and voice delivered at receivers. The poor quality is mainly attributed to that the current Internet can not carry data as fast and reliably as the real-time applications require. To improve the quality without modifying the internal structure of the current Internet, many researches are conducted. One of them is an end-to-end flow control of multicast traffic adapting the sending rate to the dynamically varying Internet state. This paper proposes two flow-control techniques which can improve the performance of the two conventional techniques; IVS and RLM. IVS statically adjusts the sending rate based on the network state periodically estimated. Differently from IVS in which a sender produces one single data stream, in RLM a sender transmits several data streams generated by the layered coding scheme and each receiver selects some data streams based on its own network state. The more data streams a receiver receives, the better quality of image or voice the receiver can produce. The two techniques, however, can degrade the performance since IVS increases its sending rate statically and RLM accepts one more data stream at arbitrary time regardless of the network state respectively. We introduce two new techniques called TCP-like IVS and Adaptive RLM; TCP-like IVS can determine the sending rate dynamically and Adaptive RLM can select the right time to add one more data stream. Our simulation experiments show that two techniques can achieve better utilization and less packet loss by 10-20% over various network topologies.

Recently, as the rapid development of network technology and the increase of services required high bandwidth such as multimedia service, the network traffic dramatically increases. This massive increase of network traffic causes some problems such as the degradation of QoS and the lack of network resources and, to solve these problems, various research to guarantee QoS have been performing. Currently, The most representative method to guarantee the QoS is the DiffServ(: Differentiated Service). The DiffServ defines the AF(: Assured Forwarding) PHB(: Per Hop Behavior) and statistically ensures the throughput over the certain level of data rate. However, the TCP congestion control method that make up the majority of the Internet traffic is not fundamentally suitable to the DiffServ that guarantees the throughput without managing the individual flow. Therefore, in this paper, we present this mismatch through the simulation as an example and propose the solution by controlling the TCP of the terminal in the network. The proposed scheme utilizes the information of the reception window size included in the ACK frame and does not require any modification of the TCP algorithms currently in use.
Over the last couple of years, traditional VANET (Vehicular Ad Hoc NETwork) evolved into VANET-based clouds. From the VANET standpoint, applications became richer by virtue of the boom in automotive telematics and infotainment technologies. Nevertheless, the research community and industries are concerned about the under-utilization of rich computation, communication, and storage resources in middle and high-end vehicles. This phenomenon became the driving force for the birth of VANET-based clouds. In this paper, we envision a novel application layer of VANET-based clouds based on the cooperation of the moving cars on the road, called CaaS (Cooperation as a Service). CaaS is divided into TIaaS (Traffic Information as a Service), WaaS (Warning as a Service), and IfaaS (Infotainment as a Service). Note, however, that this work focuses only on TIaaS and WaaS. TIaaS provides vehicular nodes, more precisely subscribers, with the fine-grained traffic information constructed by CDM (Cloud Decision Module) as a result of the cooperation of the vehicles on the roads in the form of mobility vectors. On the other hand, WaaS provides subscribers with potential warning messages in case of hazard situations on the road. Communication between the cloud infrastructure and the vehicles is done through GTs (Gateway Terminals), whereas GTs are physically realized through RSUs (Road-Side Units) and vehicles with 4G Internet access. These GTs forward the coarse-grained cooperation from vehicles to cloud and fine-grained traffic information and warnings from cloud to vehicles (subscribers) in a secure, privacy-aware fashion. In our proposed scheme, privacy is conditionally preserved wherein the location and the identity of the cooperators are preserved by leveraging the modified location-based encryption and, in case of any dispute, the node is subject to revocation. To the best of our knowledge, our proposed scheme is the first effort to offshore the extended traffic view construction function and warning messages dissemination function to the cloud.

Geographical Information System (GIS) is composed of hardware, software, data, and methods. Among the components, data is considered to be the most important factor in GIS. In this paper, we describes HVF, the most recent technology pioneered by GIS researchers. HVF is a format for efficient usage of spatial object in order to express, save and transform in Internet GIS. Fist, we describe the definition of HVF syntax, then the implementation of Header Section Generation Module and Main Section Generation Module through the API. Second, we develop a spatial object converter for HVF to transform figures into data structures, which are compatible among different GIS applications. For this purpose, we design and implement three units of modules, which are File Manipulation, HVF Import and HVF Export Module. Since the issues of network traffic and Hangul processing in Internet GIS are important, we expecially consider development of HVF in terms of spatial data size.

Recently, a variety of IoT data is collected by attaching geosensors to many vehicles that are on the road. IoT data basically has time and space information and is composed of various data such as temperature, humidity, fine dust, Co2, etc. Although a certain sensor data can be retrieved using time, latitude and longitude, which are keys to the IoT data, advanced search engines for IoT data to handle high-level user queries are still limited. There is also a problem with searching large amounts of IoT data without generating indexes, which wastes a great deal of time through sequential scans. In this paper, we propose a unified spatial index model that handles both grid and trajectory queries using a cell-based space-filling curve method. also it presents a visualization method that helps user grasp intuitively. The Trajectory query is to aggregate the traffic of the trajectory cells passed by taxi on the road searched by the user. The grid query is to find the cells on the road searched by the user and to aggregate the fine dust. Based on the generated spatial index, the user interface quickly summarizes the trajectory and grid queries for specific road and all roads, and proposes a Web-based prototype system that can be analyzed intuitively through road and heat map visualization.

Taxis that are illegally parked on the road to catch customer can cause traffic congestion and sometimes cause traffic accidents. Stop position of taxis is determined by the long term experience of taxi drivers. In this study, We provide information to taxi drivers and customer who visit in first time through finding stop position of taxis by time. To do this, we used the Internet of Vehicle (IoV) data collected from sensors installed in 40 taxis. Previous studies attempted by forming a cluster around a taxi. Since this method is centered on a taxi, the position of the cluster changes depending on the location of the taxi. In this study, we use a road segmentation algorithm to solve these problems. Unlike the previous studies, since the cluster is formed around the road, the position of the cluster is fixed and it is not affected by the number of taxis, so it is possible to grasp the stop position in real time. The road segmentation is made up of 30m units, and map the taxi location data divided into hourly, weekday, and weekend to the nearest point. As a result of the mapping, it was difficult to see a big difference in the time of week because there were few taxis to operate on weekends, but in case of weekdays, the difference of stop position between the commute time zone and the night time zone was confirmed. The results of this study suggest that it will be possible to propose the prevention of taxi illegally driving taxi and the location of the taxi stand.

DDoS attacks have had a devastating effect on the Internet, which can cause millions of dollars of damage within hours or even minutes. In this paper we propose a practical dynamic defense approach that overcomes the shortage of static defense mechanisms. Our approach employs a group of SDN-based proxy switches to relay data flow between users and servers. By substituting backup proxy switches for attacked ones and reassigning suspect users onto the new proxy switches, innocent users are isolated and saved from malicious attackers through a sequence of remapping process. In order to improve the speed of attacker segregation, we have designed and implemented an efficient greedy algorithm which has been demonstrated to have little influence on legitimate traffic. Simulations, which were then performed with the open source controller Ryu, show that our approach is effective in alleviating DDoS attacks and quarantining the attackers by numerable remapping process. The simulations also demonstrate that our dynamic defense imposes little effect on legitimate users, and the overhead introduced by remapping procedure is acceptable.

In recent years, personal videos have been shared online due to the popular uses of portable devices, such as smartphones and action cameras. A recent report predicted that 80% of the Internet traffic will be video content by the year 2021. Several studies have been conducted on the detection of main video events to manage a large scale of videos. These studies show fairly good performance in certain genres. However, the methods used in previous studies have difficulty in detecting events of personal video. This is because the characteristics and genres of personal videos vary widely. In a research, we found that adding a dataset with the right perspective in the study improved performance. It has also been shown that performance improves depending on how you extract keyframes from the video. we selected frame segments that can represent video considering the characteristics of this personal video. In each frame segment, object, location, food and audio features were extracted, and representative vectors were generated through a CNN-based recurrent model and a fusion module. The proposed method showed mAP 78.4% performance through experiments using LSVC data.
