Recently, development of digital technology is occupying a large part of multimedia information like character, voice, image, video, etc. Research about video indexing and retrieval progresses especially in research relative to video. This paper proposes the novel notation in order to retrieve MPEG video in the international standards of moving picture encoding For realizing the retrieval-system, we detect DCT DC coefficient, and then we obtain shot to apply MVC(Mean Value Comparative) notation to image constructed DC coefficient. We choose the key frame for start-frame of a shot, and we have the codebook index generating it using feature of DC image and applying PCA(principal Component Analysis) to the key frame. Also, we realize the retrieval-system through similarity after indexing. We could reduce error detection due to distinguish shot from conventional shot detection algorithm. In the mean time, speed of indexing is faster by PCA due to perform it in the compressed domain, and it has an advantage which is to generate codebook due to use statistical features. Finally, we could realize efficient retrieval-system using MVC and PCA to shot detection and indexing which is important step of retrieval-system, and we using retrieval-system over the internet.

A TPR-tree is a well-known indexing structure that is developed to answer queries about the current or future time locations of moving objects. For the purpose of space efficiency, the TPR-tree employs the notion of VBR (velocity bounding rectangle)so that a regionalrectangle presents varying positions of a group of moving objects. Since the rectangle computed from a VBR always encloses the possible maximum range of an indexed object group, a search process only has to follow VBR-based rectangles overlapped with a given query range, while searching toward candidate leaf nodes. Although the TPR-tree index shows up its space efficiency, it easily suffers from the problem of dead space that results from fast and constant expansions of VBR-based rectangles. Against this, the TPR-tree index is enforced to update leaf nodes for reducing dead spaces within them. Such an update-prone feature of the TPR-tree becomes more problematic when the tree is saved in flash storage. This is because flash storage has very expensive update costs. To solve this problem, we propose a new Bloom filter based caching scheme that is useful for reducing updates in a flash TPR-tree. Since the proposed scheme can efficiently control the frequency of updates on a leaf node, it can offer good performance for indexing moving objects in modern flash storage.
In this paper, we propose indexing method to manage large amount of XML documents efficiently, using the range of node and Pre-Oder List. The most of XML indexing methods are based on path or numbering method. However, the method of path-based indexing method shows disadvantages of performance degradation for join operations of ancestor-descendent relationships, and searching for middle and lower nodes. The method of numbers-scheme based indexing has to number all nodes of XML documents, since search overhead increased and the disk space for indexes was wasted. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel indexing method using node ranges and Preorder-Lists to overcome these problems. The proposed method more efficiently stores similar structured XML documents. In addition, our method supports flexible insertion and deletion of XML documents.

With the advances in wireless communication technology and the advent of smartphones, research on location-based services (LBSs) is being actively carried out. In particular, several spatial index methods have been proposed to provide efficient LBSs. However, finding an optimal indexing method that balances query performance and index size remains a challenge in the case of wireless environments that have limited channel bandwidths and device resources (computational power, memory, and battery power). Thus, mechanisms that make existing spatial indexing techniques more efficient and highly applicable in resource-limited environments should be studied. Bitmap-based Spatial Indexing (BSI) has been designed to support LBSs, especially in wireless broadcast environments. However, the access latency in BSI is extremely large because of the large size of the bitmap, and this may lead to increases in the search time. In this paper, we introduce a Selective Bitmap-based Spatial Indexing (SBSI) technique. Then, we propose an Adaptive Bitmap-based Spatial Indexing (ABSI) to improve the tuning time in the proposed SBSI scheme. The ABSI is applied to the distribution of geographical objects in a grid by using the Hilbert curve (HC). With the information in the ABSI, grid cells that have no objects placed, (i.e., 0-bit information in the spatial bitmap index) are not tuned during a search. This leads to an improvement in the tuning time on the client side. We have carried out a performance evaluation and demonstrated that our SBSI and ABSI techniques outperform the existing bitmap-based DSI (B DSI) technique.

If there is an Information Retrieval system which comprehends the semantic content of documents and knows the preference of users. the system can search the information better on the Internet, or improve the IR performance. Therefore we propose the IR model which combines semantic based indexing and fuzzy relevance model. In addition to the statistical approach, we chose the semantic approach in indexing, lexical chains, because we assume it would improve the performance of the index term extraction. Furthermore, we combined the semantic based indexing with the fuzzy model, which finds out the exact relevance of the user preference and index terms. The proposed system works as follows: First, the presented system indexes documents by the efficient index term extraction method using lexical chains. And then, if a user tends to retrieve the information from the indexed document collection, the extended IR model calculates and ranks the relevance of user query. user preference and index terms by some metrics. When we experimented each module, semantic based indexing and extended fuzzy model. it gave noticeable results. The combination of these modules is expected to improve the information retrieval performance.

In the field of health informatics converging ICT technology and medicine technology, XML-based CCR document make sure the continuity and mobility of the information of patients. When a number of clients access CCR documents, wireless data broadcast that supports any number of clients can be an alternative for the scalability. In this paper, we propose a framework for wireless data broadcast of XML-based CCR documents. We design and implement the framework that can adopt various data scheduling algorithms and indexing schemes for the optimized performances of clients. The implemented framework shows the efficiency with simulations adopting various data scheduling algorithms and indexing schemes.

With the technical advances, the amount of big data is increasing day-by-day such that the traditional software tools face a burden in handling them. Additionally, the presence of the imbalance data in big data is a massive concern to the research industry. In order to assure the effective management of big data and to deal with the imbalanced data, this paper proposes a new indexing algorithm for retrieving big data in the MapReduce framework. In mappers, the data clustering is done based on the Sparse Fuzzy-c-means (Sparse FCM) algorithm. The reducer combines the clusters generated by the mapper and again performs data clustering with the Sparse FCM algorithm. The two-level query matching is performed for determining the requested data. The first level query matching is performed for determining the cluster, and the second level query matching is done for accessing the requested data. The ranking of data is performed using the proposed Monarch chaotic whale optimization algorithm (M-CWOA), which is designed by combining Monarch butterfly optimization (MBO) [22] and chaotic whale optimization algorithm (CWOA) [21]. Here, the Parametric Enabled-Similarity Measure (PESM) is adapted for matching the similarities between two datasets. The proposed M-CWOA outperformed other methods with maximal precision of 0.9237, recall of 0.9371, F1-score of 0.9223, respectively.

RDF data is widely used for exchanging data nowadays to enable semantic web era. This leads to the need for storing and retrieving these data efficiently and effectively. Recently, the structure index in graph-based perspective is considered as a promising approach to deal with issues of complex query graphs. However, even though there are many researches based on structure indexing, there can be a better architectural approach instead of addressing the issue as a part. In this research, we propose architecture for storing, query processing and retrieving RDF data in efficient manner using structure indexing. Our research utilizes research results from iStore and 2 relation-based approaches and we focus on improving query processing to reduce the time of loading data and I/O cost.
The mobile and ubiquitous environment is experiencing a rapid development of information and communications technology as it provides an ever increasing flow of information. Particularly, GIS is now widely applied in daily life due to its high accuracy and functionality. GIS information is utilized through the tiling method, which divides and manages large-scale map information. The tiling method manages map information and additional information to allow overlay, so as to facilitate quick access to tiled data. Unlike past studies, this paper proposes a new architecture and algorithms for tile searching and indexing management to optimize map information and additional information for GIS mobile applications. Since this involves the processing of large-scale information and continuous information changes, information is clustered for rapid processing. In addition, data size is minimized to overcome the constrained performance associated with mobile devices. Our system has been implemented in actual services, leading to a twofold increase in performance in terms of processing speed and mobile bandwidth.

Categorical range aggregation, which is conceptually equivalent to running a range aggregation query separately on multiple datasets, returns the query result on each dataset. The challenge is when the number of dataset is as large as hundreds or thousands, it takes a lot of computation time and I/O. In previous work, only a single dimension of the range restriction has been solved, and in practice, more applications are being used to calculate multiple range restriction statistics. We proposed MCRI-Tree, an index structure designed to solve multi-dimensional categorical range aggregation queries, which can utilize main memory to maximize the efficiency of CRA queries. Specifically, the MCRI-Tree answers any query in $O(nk^{n-1})$ I/Os (where n is the number of dimensions, and k denotes the maximum number of pages covered in one dimension among all the n dimensions during a query). The practical efficiency of our technique is demonstrated with extensive experiments.
