Based on the Model Coupled Method (MCM), a case study has been carried out on a Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) tied arch bridge to investigate the vibration problem. The mathematical model assumed a finite element representation of the bridge together with beam, shell, and link elements, and the vehicle simulation employed a three dimensional linear vehicle model with seven independent degrees-of-freedom. A well-known power spectral density of road pavement profiles defined the road surface roughness for Perfect, Good and Poor roads respectively. In virtue of a home-code program, the dynamic interaction between the bridge and vehicle model was simulated, and the dynamic amplification factors were computed for displacement and internal force. The impact effects of the vehicle on different bridge members and the influencing factors were studied. Meanwhile the acceleration responses of some of the components were analyzed in the frequency domain. From the results some valuable conclusions have been drawn.

The purpose of this paper is to propose an approach to design a robust servo controller based on the Mixed H$_2$/H$\sub$$\infty$/ theory. In order to do this, we first modify the generalized plant for the usual H$\sub$$\infty$/ servo problem to a structure of the Mixed H$_2$/H$\sub$$\infty$/ minimization problem by virtue of the internal model principle. By doing this, we can divide specifications adopted for robust servo system design into H$_2$and H$\sub$$\infty$/ performance criteria, respectively. Then, the mixed H$_2$/H$\sub$$\infty$/ problem is solved in order to find the best solution, by which we can minimize H$_2$-norm of the transfer function under the condition of H$\sub$$\infty$/-norm value, through Linear Matrix Equality (LMI).

The Background and Purpose : Many herb-medicines are frequently used in China but they are not in Korea. It is required to prove them worthy to introduce into Korea and to find substitutes for them. The Objective and Methods : During stay in China as a Professor extraordinary, I investigated applications of Chinese modicines, books and theses. The Results and Conclusions : 1. In China the cheap herb-medicines are chosen preferentially and the classic rules of oriental medicine are truly observed. 2. in China it is impossible to prove virtue of ready made herb-medicines because constituents are not opened. 3. Commonly used herb-medicines are drug of clean away heat(淸熱藥) which are antinflammatories or anti-toxins. 4. Antitumorigenic effects was frequently reported but they don't get complete agreement also in China. 5. Herb-medicines which are frequently used in China but not in Korea have no significant differences from commonly used herb-medicines in Korea.

Droplet size measurement technique was established for the sprayed viscous fluid by virtue of the installation of the sprayed-droplet size measurement system employing light scattering method. Atomization test results showed that the mean droplet size of the sprayed viscous fluid is decreased with the increase of the mass ratio of air to fuel and in case of the same air/fuel ratio, also with the increase of viscous fluid flow rate, and is increased with the distance from atomizer tip. Basic design data for the manufacture of external-mixing type, Y-Jet type, and internal-mixing type atomizers was acquired from the atomization tests.

The purpose of this thesis is to make clear the symbolism expressed by the gorgeous costume elements in the portraits of Elizabeth 1. After English paintings in 16th century and the Portraits of Elizabeth I being investigated in view of its characteristics, the symbolism in the costume of the portraits was studied in analysis. The flowers, the pearls and the sieve denoting a pure virgin predominantly appeared, snake for discretion and wisdom, phoenix for eternal youth and renewal, pelican for motherhood, and eyes and ears for almightiness and sound judgement as an utmost power was found. The color was mainly of black or white and sometimes of these two mixtures. The white means a purity and black, eternity and the mixture of them signifies a virtue of purity. This thesis may help people understand the gorgeous costume of Elizabeth 1. not as an external extravagance, but as an internal emblem or signs delivering its specific significance.

The beam string structure (BSS) has been widely applied in large span roof structures, while no analytical solutions of BSS were derived for it in the existing literature. In the first part of this paper, calculation formulas of displacement and internal forces were obtained by the Ritz-method for the most commonly used arc-shaped BSS under the vertical uniformly distributed load and the prestressing force. Then, the failure mode of BSS was proposed based on the static equilibrium. On condition the structural stability was reliable, BSS under the uniformly distributed load would fail by tensile strength failure of the string, and the beam remained in the elastic or semi-plastic range. On this basis, the limit load of BSS was given in virtue of the elastic solutions. In order to verify the linear elastic and limit state solutions proposed in this paper, three BSS modal were tested and the corresponding elastoplastic large deformation analysis was performed by the ANSYS program. The proposed failure mode of BSS was proved to be correct, and the analytical results for the linear elastic and limit state were in good agreement with the experimental and FEM results.

Waterjet propulsion is widely used to thrust high speed marine vessels in excess of 30-35 knots by virtue of the high propulsive efficiency, good maneuverability, and less cavitation. From the aspect of power loss, approximately $7-9\%$ of the total power is lost in intake duct due to the flow separation, nonuniformity, etc. Thus, detail understanding of flow phenomena occurring within intake duct is essential to reduce the power loss, as well as noise and vibration. The present work solved 30 incompressible RANS equations to provide complicated viscous flow features of intake duct. The numerical results were compared with experiments and good agreements were obtained for three jet velocity ratios.

Overhead athletes에서 특히 자주 볼 수 있는 불안정성 SLAP 병변, Internal impingement, 회전근 개 병변 등의 질환은 개별적으로 나타나는 것이 아니라 여러 질환이 동반되어 나타나므로 진단이나 치료에 어려움이 많다. 어깨 관절 손상의 성공적인 치료 및 운동으로의 복귀를 위하여는 각각의 운동의 생역학적인 측면과 개개의 질환의 증상 및 정확한 진단, 병리기전에 대한 확실한 이해가 선행되어야한다.

Brain cytoplasmic 200 RNA (BC200 RNA), originally identified as a neuron-specific non-coding RNA, is also observed in various cancer cells that originate from non-neural cells. Studies have revealed diverse functions of BC200 RNA in cancer cells. Accordingly, we hypothesized that BC200 RNA might be modified in cancer cells to generate cancerous BC200 RNA responsible for its cancer-specific functions. Here, we report that BC200 RNA sequences are highly heterogeneous in cancer cells by virtue of multiple adenine nucleotide insertions in the internal A-rich region. The insertion of adenine nucleotides enhances BC200 RNA-mediated translation inhibition, possibly by increasing the binding affinity of BC200 RNA for eIF4A (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4A).

자기공명 관절 조영술(Shoulder MR Arthrography)는 견관절(Shoulder joint) 의 복잡한 해부학적 구조에 관하여 정확한 영상평가를 진단하기 위해 시행 한다. 우리는 어께 상완골(Shoulder humerus) 의 다양한 position인 Neutral position, Internal rotation position, External rotation position 에 관하여 Shoulder joint의 해부학 적인 회전 변화가 견관절 자기공명(Shoulder MRI) 영상에 어떤 진단적 결과를 가져오는가에 대해 상호 비교 하였다. 또한 환자의 정확한 촬영자세 유지를 위해 촬영 보조기구를 만들었다. 이 보조기구는 Modeling 설계에 의해 우리가 직접 제작한 자기공명 견관절 조영술 보조 기구이다. 이 보조기구를 사용하여 촬영한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출해 내었다. External rotation position 에 의한 Shoulder MRArthrography 검사가 Shoulder joint의 중요 해부학적 구조인 Biceps tendon, Supera-spiatus tendon, Sub-scapularis tendon, Labrum, Sub-acromial space 의 해부학적 평가에서 제일 적합하다는 진단적 평가를 얻었다.
